There’s just something very sketchy about this public release of information from Judge Merchan in New York City. Merchan doesn’t have an integrity bone and the comment he is bringing attention toward is innocuous and random. However, Merchan could be trying to get Trump to violate the gag order aspect and talk about jurors; thereby making the sentencing worse.
According to information Merchan is providing the lawyers in the Trump case, a comment was made on the court’s FaceBook page indicating one of the jurors said the Trump guilty verdict was predetermined. [SOURCE] “My cousin is a juror and says Trump is getting convicted. Thank you folks for all your hard work!!!”
Why would Judge Merchan want to draw public attention to this?
Either something bigger is being diluted by this story, or perhaps Merchan is using it as a provocation to get Trump to talk about the jury and violate his gag order ahead of sentencing.
Or, perhaps Merchan is looking to create a mistrial to exit the case, or do it over again and extend the gag order. Also, why not include the entire quote from the Facebook Page:

Legit or not, this is the kind of thing a judge has to jump all over whenever it happens. Outside influences / communications with or by jurors about the case can be death to a verdict, regardless how just (or unjust) the verdict actually is. Since events of this kind don’t happen in the courtroom, there’s no record, and so the judge has to jump on it and move to create as full a record as possible to determine if anything went wrong (and to enable a dissatisfied party to appeal). I think Judge Merchan has every appearance of being corrupt and running his case like a second prosecutor’s office, but in this he’s doing what judges ought to do here. Just two cents.
yep, that’s what I assume as well. “We looked into it, and found no harm done.” Something along those lines.
Same as it will go with the AZ Attorney General investigating Katie Hobbs for bribery. “Afer a full investigation… we decline to Prosecute.”
this is a political verdict, though, and will be allowed to stand. they’ll figure out some reason.
This persecution disguised as a trial was held in deep, deep blue NYC, the outcome was predetermined.
The chance of Tyrannical Merchan ruling for VSGPDJT is 0%.
The chance of this so-called judge being reversed on appeal is 100%.
The allegation of juror impropriety will be addressed and disregarded in the same manner that due process was throughout this sham of a case.

IMO, Merchan is trying to cause a mistrial, and not because he wants to extend it. Frankly, I think the heat is getting to him and his family. The spotlight is now on his daughter, and the millions that she’s taken in personally from congressmen/senators, and other politicians. And with the other two cases on “pause”, the Dr. Phil interview, which is shifting the narrative amongst the “normies”, Silicon Valley now backing Trump, and I think the judge is getting cold feet. Very cold feet. The shift in the air is palpable as more and more people are starting to support Trump, who previously didn’t…and to me this smells of what lawyers refer to as a “weasel clause”.

don’t discount the possibility that having seen the results of the conviction, and realizing it is 110% the opposite of what they expected, the Democrats are trying to unring the bell.

It’s hard to guess. The judge may be angling to head off the appeal and simply order a new trial himself. Keep President Trump tied up in his courtroom for the rest of the year.
By the way, President Trump is not a convicted felon until sentencing and the judge signs off on the conviction: July 11, 2024.

I don’t think any of these people sweat repercussions. They aren’t going to get milkshaked or bubbled in their liberal enclaves, and they have no intention of traveling amongst the smelly WalMart people.
I suppose if Merchan had any concern about his honor he’d have ruled as impartially and fairly as possible for an airtight proceeding. He didn’t, so that horse left the barn and he’ll forever blame it on partisan ship not himself.
Also, think about the chick they put on national news in the Atlanta grand jury. I mean you don’t think any of those crazies got on this jury? In NY?
Another possibility for your consideration: Merchan and the Lawfairies see that the verdict helped Trump raise $400 million in a week. To drown the source of the donors’ enthusiasm, they are teasing the prospects of a mistrial reversing Trump’s conviction. Once it is no longer useful to them, they will announce that the Facebook post proved to be fake, but oh weren’t we fair and diligent. What new tricks are they up to during the Look! Squirrel! interlude?
I believe the left wants a mistrial. This would rile up their nonenthusiastic base.

“They” are desperate to retract the guilty verdict to somehow “delegitimize” the street-cred that the title of “convicted felon” bestowed upon Trump has given him.
I think he is setting Trump up for a new trial to make that gag order last until the election. If he schedules a new trial it could tie Trump up and keep him off the campaign trail. Biden thought that Trump would be tied up with all the trials, but with so many of them on hold this would be a back up. Democrats are evil, more evil than Satan, I wouldn’t put anything past them.
Still believe Trump should file an appeal before requsting a mistrial. A successful appeal would shut this whole sharade down whereas a mistrial could just allow him to be prosecuted again.
Merchan is worried the Supreme Court will overturn and label the Merchan trial corrupt and unconstitutional which would expose Bragg, Merchan, and the WH doj all guilty og election interference…shifting guilt to Democrats and praising innocent TRUMP. Merchan is searching for reason to keep the hight court from exposing Democrats political persecution conspiracy.
Or Loren is at serious risk of being indicted after PDJT wins.
