I just heard about a poll (I did not catch which one) claiming that “91% of Generation Z” say that the inability to buy a house will influence their vote in 2024.
If Generation Z is really using “Tik-Tok,” then President TRUMP can push this issue with them via that and other methods!
There is a huge opportunity with Gen Z. Tik Tok is a very good start, and they also need to do major voter outreach efforts. These kids have to be prodded to the polls or given a ballot to fill out or they’ll stay home. Many of them now wait a few years to get a driver’s license as they don’t seem to care if they drive or not. It’s nuts to me but everyone I talk to with kids that age or who knows kids that age says the same thing.
I know several kids who’ve gotten their DLs at 16. They also happen to be the ones who’ve gotten jobs at 16. Realized that just now. Maybe there’s a correlation?

When I was growing up if I wanted spending money I got a job. First starting at 13 babysitting. If I didn’t babysit I didn’t have any spending money. Period. When I turned 16 I got a job at McDonald’s and then found better part time jobs. Sometimes walking to them. Shared rides. Got my DL…sometimes I could use the second car to get to work. I’m guessing most of us here came up the same way and raised our kids the same.
Yep! First “real job” after school at 16 was at a local supermarket; had to half run and half jog to get there at 3 p.m. Did it 3-4 times/week. Loved it.
Yeah, I was raised in a big family and always wore hand me downs. I wanted my own clothes and style. I found earning money and working worked for me. Screw college, give me a JOB!!!

It is the first laboratory-confirmed human case of the H5N2 strain of bird flu, or avian influenza, reported globally and the first-ever reported case in Mexico.
This strain is different than the bird flu strain that is currently circulating in livestock in the United States and has infected three dairy workers in the U.S.
The Mexico patient was a 59-year-old resident with no history of exposure to poultry or other animals, according to the WHO.
On April 17, the patient developed fever, nausea, diarrhea, shortness of breath and general malaise. He was hospitalized on April 24 at the National Institute of Respiratory Diseases in Mexico City and died the same day.
The patient’s relatives said the person had underlying conditions and they had been bedridden for three weeks for other reasons prior to contracting bird flu, the WHO said.
Test results eventually revealed the patient was infected with bird flu subtype H5N2, which has never been documented in humans before.
