The entire world is watching what happens in New York City through the prism of ridiculous lawfare and politics. Finding President Trump guilty of a crime is seemingly a foregone conclusion. Even the White House is saying Joe Biden will deliver remarks to the nation from the official executive office as soon as the guilty verdict is delivered {SEE HERE}.
Judge Merchan has yet to release the public version of jury instructions, however he previously decided last week that the jurors do not need to agree on a predicate crime in order to fund President Trump guilty of trying to hide one.

I just returned as a Delegate to the NCGOP state convention in Greensboro, NC. The Delegates were 90% MAGA and most of the delegates going to the National Convention are MAGA. The grassroots delegates at the convention were not savy to how party policy is passed (Manipulating Roberts Rules to Order) while fantastic MAGA resolutions were not able to get to the floor because delegates being tired and accepting Motions to Adjourn. Most of these delegates have learned a lesson on GOPe methods of getting their ideas while MAGA ideas die from manipulation of convention session time and knowing that Free Booze was going to be available at Receptions following the meeting session. Progress was made and great learning by new delegates occurred. NC delegates to the National Convention will not be swayed to abandon President Trump!!! Maybe due process in New York is different than the rest of the country. Or maybe the Fourteenth Amendment just doesn’t apply to President Trump. Kafkaesque.

Retired Magistrate here: The “justice” system has gotten this far out of hand because attorneys and judges didn’t want to punish, at one time, the few rogue judges, because well, it could happen to them and if we all stick together we can protect each other. It’s a club and the general population isn’t part of it.
Most judges accept campaign contributions from big law firms, political entities and lobbying groups. Of course those contributors except something in return. This has been happening for a long time with the result it is now totally out of control.
I have said on this site before that the law is what the judge says it is in any particular courtroom on any particular day. It is then up to the party that isn’t satisfied with the ruling to appeal, depending on whether or not they have the funds. Of course then you are dealing with judges higher up the food chain who accept the same types of contributions. Every once in a while you find a judge who actually listens to the facts, applies and law and renders a fair ruling.
Unfortunately, that boat sailed a long time ago in New York City, the state of New York and other metropolitan areas.
I think that boat left the country in its entirety. We are now a siht hole country (but with nuclear weapons!).
