It’s really not a matter of if Republican senators will leave the party in the lame duck session after a President Trump win in November; the question is: how many?
The predictability of the issue is actually quite simple. {GO DEEP} Almost all senators kneel at the altar of money, nothing else. The GOPe senators will exhaust every weapon in their arsenal on behalf of their multinational financial benefactors, prior to the November 2024 election. Once those narrative attack weapons are exhausted, they will take the deal and quit the party in their final political effort to retain affluence.
Accepting this reality, I asked the question a few weeks ago. The largest number of respondents said 1 to 3 senators will resign the party.

Lisa Murkowski switching parties is a no brainer. Susan Collins and Todd Young are two more possibilities. Mitt Romney has already announced he is leaving. Mitch McConnell has already announced he is stepping down from leadership and will not seek another term. A tenuous John Thune will only remain if he replaces McConnell. …. and so it goes.
I would bet on THREE Republican senators who will switch parties, but it could easily be more.
One thing is certain, those who do not switch/exit will remain as DeceptiCons and oppose: (a) any effort to confront the intelligence community they support; and (b) all Trump nominations, foreign or domestic policy, that threaten their place at the trough.
.
(Via CNN) – […] “I wish that as Republicans, we had … a nominee that I could get behind,” Murkowski told CNN. “I certainly can’t get behind Donald Trump.”
The party’s shift toward Trump has caused Murkowski to consider her future within the GOP. In the interview, she would not say if she would remain a Republican.
Asked if she would become an independent, Murkowski said: “Oh, I think I’m very independent minded.” And she added: “I just regret that our party is seemingly becoming a party of Donald Trump.”
Pressed on if that meant she might become an independent, Murkowski said: “I am navigating my way through some very interesting political times. Let’s just leave it at that.”
Murkowski hasn’t always been on the outs within her party. Appointed in 2002 by her father, Gov. Frank Murkowski, the senator’s politics were in line with the president at the time – George W. Bush – as she maintained a tight relationship with the senior GOP senator from her state, Ted Stevens, who helped build Alaska through federal dollars he funneled back home. (read more)

I hope that Trump has a list of radical interim appointments that will make them rush through his confirmations.
Susan Collins is going to stay a fake republican. She picked the former chair of the state party to run for Senate.
When this prospect was in charge of the Republican party in Maine, the website was broken for over six years so no one could volunteer.
She could easily become another fake independent like Maine’s Angus King.
Maine the northern welfare state has a history of pretending.
She gaslighted AK voters recently claiming her added value for her re-election was her “seniority” in the Senate. Regardless of how unpopular she was compared to the Trump supporting new comer she ran against. Bailing on her party, awards her how much “seniority? AK, you got robbed.
Trying to have it both ways, eh Lisa?
After she turned political cartwheels to remain the Senator from AK ???? …..to now start caucusing with the Dims as an Independent is an in your face to Alaskans.
Alaska, Recall her and put a good maga to finish her term.
Ranked Choice will be on the ballot in Alaska (this Fall I think). Let’s hope it gets defeated .
That Ranked Choice vote robbing scheme was too toxic, even for the loonies of Tax-a-chusetts. I would hope that those who’ve voted for Murkowski in the past can find in them some form of temporary sanity and defeat Ranked Choice.
Rank choice voting is designed so th popular candidate loses. Prove me wrong.
Good point!
I wonder how many conservative Alaskans understand that if they wanted Mitch McConnell to vote for them, they should’ve moved to Kentucky?
Sad, PA will send a literal vegetable to the Senate, yet Alaska wouldn’t opt for a new, fresh PDJT-supporting, native Alaskan in Kelly Tshibaka.
Sundance, I hope you didn’t misconstrue what I said by “as many…”, because that’s not at all what I meant! I know what their plan is and I do NOT like it one bit!!!
I do not know the legalities of it but I’m hoping someone here has more info than I. Can the state party recall a US Senator for Dereliction of Duty or not upholding their oath and replace them with another candidate until a new election can be held?
Before the 17th Amendment to the Constitution Senators couldn’t lay these reindeer games, they were in the Senate at the pleasure of their state. Worst Amendment IMHO it nullified state’s rights
They could be recalled or replaced depending upon the individual state’s constitution and their Assembly
The Seventeenth was an essential part of destroying our Republic.
It not only divorced Senators from their states, it greatly diminished the interest of Americans in their own state government doings; once, part of guiding our nation meant ensuring our states were sending the right kind of men as Senators, now that impetus is gone, and the Communists do terrible things in our states in the darkness of that neglect.
Furthermore, I consider that the Derp State must be destroyed.
Exactly
Lisa is having a post-menopausal mental breakdown. She forgot she ran on her “seniority” last time. Now she just tossed that into the crapper. Say good bye, Lisa.
The more Murkowski spoke of her honesty the faster we counted the silverware!
These RINOS took Republican money and votes to get elected. They should have the decency to resign and then run for election as Democrats! McConnell should expel all of them from the Senate!
Fat chance…
Huh?
And just to get in the original phrase by Ralph Waldo Emerson —
“The louder he talked of his honour, The faster we counted our spoons.”
Says the woman who stole her election.
Oh, and BTW….. Tim Scott needs to explain why he endorsed this freakin’ traitor! No more stage time with our beloved President until he does!
In other words, stop calling these filthy animals colleagues and start calling them what they are….. ENEMIES!!!
Two closet cases.
Not sure he ain’t one of ’em.
There are 2 individuals who are in our camp (notice I didn’t say repubes) who are, as they say “up and coming”. One has outed himself; the other is Rep. Byron Donalds!
How many will drop the ruse, and openly declare they are Democrats?
As many as it takes, to not only assure a Dem Majority, but one that eliminates the need for PDJT’s VP to break any ties.
As they will wait until after the Nov. elections, they can refine that exact # based on election results,…assuming we don’t have any elections that drag on with challenges and recounts.
At this point I have to wonder if they are just keeping up appearances out of habit?
If she’s not MAGA, get her the hell out.
Sen. Bill Cassidy…
The 17th amendment rears its anti republic head…
Founders had it right.
Senate just another house
Just another house, but in a substantially pricier neighborhood.
Lisa should be told by conservative pundits that if she even thinks of doing that, they will dish on her every damn thing they know about her and her daddy and they will harp and harp and harp on her theft of the election for senator years ago.
It’s true, but even w/out “proof,” why in the world should we have to offer proof.
Dems don’t, yet they have given us the roadmap to use to destroy a political life.
It’s time we returned the favor.
We just need people w/ microphones to ban together.
Let’s tell Alaska about Lisa Murkowski.
Let’s show them how ugly and corrupt she is.
She is too big for her corrupt britches and she feels the only side that fights hard is the Dems.
We should start a letter war against her.
Trump exposed them all
I wish we could fire them all and start over.
The NSA Data Center has more than adequate evidence to doom them all I suspect.
The Restoration of the Republic fairly begs for an unprecedented housecleaning of all corruption.
We cannot uproot the Fourth Branch if we don’t tear out their tares in the other branches.
Sort of a repeat of President Trump’s first term in office. No biggie. We seems to have difficulty getting rid of them through voting so if the rinos cut and run, maybe we’ll be able to replace some with decent representatives. I did say maybe.
Unfortunately, by the time that opportunity arises, the republic will likely be too far gone to save.
I think when Slo Joe left the Senate , she took over the title as the “Dumbest Senator in the Senate” – there was some competition , but she easily beat them out to grab that title ( she always ran a close second to Joe in the competition for that coveted crown .👑)
Susan Collins and Bernie Sanders are right up there with stupid also.
Correy Spartacus Booker is another stupid one.
I would vote for ANY Treeper over any of these idiots.
Bernie And Collins definitely unsavory but not stone /thick dumb . Corey yes and Kamala would certainly be neck and neck with Murk . if she were still in Senate –
But Murk . I think, still wins it because she has been dumb for a long time , like since College – she rivals Joe on that score as well …so extra points for that ( plus if she wasn’t a “legacy hire “ she wouldn’t have gotten within3,000 miles of DC )
Good riddance and take your traitors with you, we will replace with MAGA Senators.
She’s already an Independent. If she caucuses with the Democrats, she might find herself in the same situation as Arlen Spector. He swapped parties on the strength of Harry Reid’s promise that Spector would keep his seniority on committees.
After Spector switched, Reid told him that was just Reid’s opinion, and it was up to the Dem caucus to decide if Spector would be able to jump over people. The caucus said no, and Spector was left the most junior member of the caucus. Al Franken even outranked him, IIRC.
I recall an amusing picture of the Judiciary Committee on which Spector had considerable seniority in the GOP, and so he got to sit towards the center of the panel (right in front of the cameras). (It was a very long panel.)
In the picture, as a very junior Dem, Spector was demoted to an end seat that rarely made it on screen.
The Republican Party is not “becoming the party of Trump” as Murkowski asserts. Actually, the things Trump stands for have always been what real, actual Republican voters want. It’s just that until Trump actually ran, Republicans were forced to vote for people like the Bushes, McCains, Romneys et al just to avoid voting for Obama, Clinton and St Al the Goron.
Love your moniker. I think they were made here.
The entire governmental theory of operation rests upon passing laws. Laws are what citizens must obey as part of the contract. Citizens only obey for two reasons: 1) they believe in the justice of the system, 2) they face arrest, prosecution, and jail if they don’t.
Lots of talk about Congress vs. the Executive vs. the Judiciary. For example, Judiciary tells Executive that he is acting illegally. Executive says, “doesn’t bother me any. Enforce your decision.”
Clearly, without enforcement, constitution and laws are only as valid and useful as the citizenry holds them to heart. If the citizenry mistrust their government, they then face the police force. Without a standing police force in every corner of the nation, there could not be oppression by government, because too many honorable citizens would together decide that things are simply broken and an unjust situation has arisen. Among them, they would see to it that local government would straighten up and correct these imbalances. But, because enforcement exists in police armies and electronic commerce–the OFF Switch for noncompliance–the citizens are left to cower behind their doors and await a 5:00 a.m. knock or battering ram.
The path to a more civil nation is one without large, standing police forces. That would require regular citizens to maintain order among themselves, which is what they are expressly not allowed to do. But, doing so would temper the crime waves, temper the conflicts, and force engagement of otherwise reclusive citizens.
The byproduct of this would be more regular elections from more honest election boards, with better quality of elected officials.
worth over $250 now not even including all the manipulations of the Silver Futures market…
You think Tim Scott is getting it yet, or is he just yet another opportunist?
I think he’s Spartacus with a R

Traitor till the end
NONE of them are worth a plug nickel….I want my (tax) money back.
They all are. Look at those “deep red” southern states sitting up in there. That has the floating fat man’s finger prints all over it.
I absolutely detest Ernst. She is a mess!
NC got rid of Burr and I can’t wait until Tillis is sent packing. Unfortunately my new rep, an effective conservative in the NC state house, has become a RINO in DC.
What effect does this really have? The rankest RINOs don’t have to pretend any longer? The Uniparty is gearing up to oppose President Trump in every way possible no matter what letter follows their name.
It will take loud, long and carefully planned public outcry to oppose their nefarious plans both prior and post election. It’s gonna be a long, hot and uncomfortable summer unless you sit on the bench. If you do sit on the bench I hope you get splinters.
The question for all of these traitors is: Why do you hate your country so much that you support its destruction which you are doing with every action not in support of restoring our founding principles with the MAGA Patriots?
That sack of crap, along with Ditch and faux lips Romney McD, freaking rigged Alaska for her to remain in Congress. Karma will be brutal for her when it arrives.
We need karma to cover some serious ground, in every state that is represented there. Plus the ones we know got told they could sit this one out.
Murkowski should just go already and save Oresident Trump the time of getting rid of her.
Bye useless 👋🏻
Good riddance 👋🏻
Don’t let the door hit you on your keister on the way out. Good riddance!
What’s the difference? She’s a best a RINO and barely that.
The difference is holding the Senate in Republican hands.
They are throwing the game.
Half-baked Alaskan.
The Boss: Good one.
Imagine selling out your country for money.
murkowski shouldn’t even be in the senate! Our buddy mcconnell made sure Kelly Tshibaka lost by funding murkowski and running ads against Tshibaka.. It’s the kind of things that make your head explode.
How about that, another Democrat leaves the Republican Party.
These people are absolutely operating as if this the the last election we’ll ever have or the previous one was.
They should be careful what they wish for.
Good riddance!
Gee, I just wish she’d get out in front of President Trump…..so he could run over her sorry carcass on his way to Making America Great Again!!
I Plead Grandma’s Rules.
Repeat!
You/We/Me, have to Kick every stinking one of them out, EVERY one of them and I don’t care about the so called good ones. They have all shown they are compromised at some point since Trump became President. They have all been bought by someone.
You want to vote, VOTE THEM OUT!
I think you’re lowballing those numbers.
All of the senators should just go ahead and switch. You noticed that budget was held until the ones up for re-election had won their primary. There are three states that had both their Senator’s vote for this abomination. Two of those three state’s senators were trading favors back in forth like they were playing go fish, leading up to this vote.
Boozman (R-AR)
Britt (R-AL)
Capito (R-WV)

Can we help her pack?
I read Sundances’s thoughts, but skipped the video and transcript of this pathetic, cold creature from Alaska. I have a feeling she probably spends a total of 4-5 weeks in her state.
Junkets, vacations, conferences in exotic locales. I hazard to say that she probably spends less than 3 days to talk with regular folk (leftist dims), much less Alaska Natives.
This realignment to MAGA will take much longer than most of us think, but even in the face of overwhelming opposition we can reclaim what was once the status quo.
For you trolls-not a return to slavery, but a return to common sense and an elevation of individualism.
McConnell will have no use for her anymore and her sugar daddy will be no more!
The Senate version of “If Trump then Canada”.
Yeah, but hopefully with a different result since I don’t remember any of those who promised, moving to Canada.
It’s a conundrum. You have great candidate who can set the train back on the tracks. Defeating the Village idiot should be a given. The flaw is not the souless Godless other party of marxists black radicals and islamomarxist communists who will do anything to you to win. The flaw is your on a team who are stabbing you daily and in cahoots with the other clowns. The GOP is a corrupt ugly organization who believe they exist on their own. They are abusive an spouse who beat you but know you’ll come back cause there is nowhere to go. In many ways they are worse than Dems. So I’ll keep asking why are you part of that or put up with their BS for even a minute. You will never win anything until you reject them and let them turn to ash. If not your wasting time. By now you all see they are an enemy. Not much time left and prolly too late but the GOP just has to go. Take the hit now before they destroy you.
Agree, that’s why I quit party affiliation in the past couple of years. BOTH parties suck. Reps even more so because they are the fake opposition. As SD points out, it’s ONLY about the Benjamin$ for these scumbags.
Both parties will without hesitation turn our nation inside out before they will acquiesce to America First.
My comments over the years: Walk away from the party, and revoke your consent. Sure how do you define “revoke”? well, quitting the parties is a start. It sends a message that we don’t support what our govt. is doing.
Whether you are decline to state, or no party preference, either puts you into the vast and growing “independent” category.
Dump this Bi#ch Murkoski before she can dump you.
You said a mouth full! ALASKA DUMP THIS SNAG!!
We can all quit the party TOMORROW. Alaska doing something may take YEARS.
We need to put the fear of (well you know) into the “republiCAN”Ts”.
Perhaps these clever bastards will think twice before they pull this back stabbing anti AMERICA crap.
I mean geez, do we have to buy the F#$@ers out? Isn’t funding everything enough? Not for these bozozs.
And to be clear, they are ALL bozos, every last one.
We often hear the lament that “Trump made bad choices of personnel “… Well recall folkls that NOT ONE DAMN SENATOR-NOT ONE was willing to call for a recess to allow Trump to make recess appointments of the folks HE wanted.
Senators are threatened.
Kick these FILTHY Grifters out before they can switch.
Where is our fake Leadership? lol
These SOB’s are really asking to be punished for these moves.
I hope someone
punishesgreets them, like a Grand Theft Auto commercial….Quitting the party is only part of the answer. The second half is replacing it with a MAGA, Patriot Party. Need a Party to make change in Government Happen. One individual can only do so much. The GOP is corrupt from the top to the local home owners associations across this country
Not entirely. We here in Ohio just elected Trump endorsed Bernie Moreno as our choice to run against DemocRAT Sherrod Brown. Moreno funneled $2.1 Million to Planned Parenthood and to Children’s Clinic’s that support Gender Surgery for Children. He ALSO is on video supporting restrictions on gun ammo and magazine capacity’s. AGAIN we see where Trump has been advised to endorse people that DO NOT think like we do.
Well and truly said.
The unfortunate part is that collins and murkowski won’t be up for reelection until 2026 and 2028. However, maybe the new RNC leadership can help these poor, pathetic RINOs to understand why they must support PRESIDENT TRUMP. Maybe the people of Alaska and Maine will pick better candidates in the future.
Excellent post and very true. Until the Republican Party is gone and replaced nothing changes except words.
