Mike Johnson is leading the House GOP retreat at The Greenbrier in West Virginia. Half the caucus will not attend, for being too busy to participate. Some discussion of the care and feeding of a majority in the House should occur. Perhaps it is true that many would prefer to be in the minority, or perhaps they prefer it to be every representative for themselves. I would infer that those not attending would be as pleased by business as usual and no change of policy, thus making moot any decisions at the retreat.

Recently spent some time finally catching up with local blue Taxachusetts shenanigans, and thought it’s worth mentioning to other treepers here behind enemy lines.

Seems like every state is now a microcosm of the UniParty fight at the federal level. And like sundance’s reveal of the Blob entities for which the national newspapers are mouthpieces, it now becomes clear that the Boston Herald is the blueMA RINO mouthpiece, in the same way that the Boston Globe is the DementoRat mouthpiece.
Always knew the latter but the former took a while to dawn on me… (I’ve called it the Boston Glob for years, so now I guess it’s the Boston Blob Glob.)

Good Morning. I just need to borrow a soap box this morning for Something that has gallded me for several years now.
As a Chief of a small Volunteer Fire Department who spends time every day working to find donations and grants to keep our Department operating, the millions of dollars that the elite class flushes down the toilet on political campaigns they have no chance of winning just really galleds me. I really started feeling this way a few years ago looking at what Ken Griffin was throwing away here in Illinois before he left. And now to see Sarah Longwell pledge 50 million just to dump in the sewer is about too much.
Do they have any idea how much difference this money could mean if it was spread across Volunteer Fire Departments? Just a fraction of it would make improvements that would last decades to so many Departments across the country. I struggle every day to find a few thousands and the hundreds of millions that these people have to waist every year sickens me.

When their house burns down, they might finally realize where they should have given their money to be used.

On Aug. 20, 2021, as his stepfather waited outside, a 14-year-old boy named Tanner Smith walked into a North Carolina high school for a Covid test.
But the testing area doubled as a vaccination center, and once Tanner arrived, he was told he needed a Pfizer mRNA Covid shot. He told the vaccinators he had come for a test, not a jab. They called Tanner’s mom. She didn’t answer. They made no effort to contact Tanner’s stepfather at all.
“Give it to him anyway,” one of the vaccinators said. So they did.
Almost exactly one year later, on Aug. 19, 2022, Tanner and his mother Emily Happel sued the county board of education and the medical group that had given him the shot for battery and violating their state and federal constitutional rights.
It seemed like an open-and-shut case.
And it was.
On Feb. 27, 2023, North Carolina state court Judge Lora C. Cubbage dismissed the case with prejudice, meaning it cannot be refiled under any circumstances. Last week, a three-judge panel of the North Carolina Court of Appeals, the state’s second highest-court, unanimously upheld Cubbage’s ruling.

Keep in mind, neither Tanner Smith nor the other plaintiffs in the recently dismissed cases were suing Pfizer or other drug companies over injuries from the jabs. For those injuries, the federal government theoretically offers possible payouts through what is called the Countermeasures Injury Compensation Program, or CICP.
Theoretically being the operative word.
As of January 1, 2024, Americans had filed almost 13,000 claims for injuries they claimed had occurred after Covid-19 jabs. The Injury Compensation Program has denied almost 2,200 and paid 11, all but one for myocarditis, with average payouts of about $4,000. It has not ruled on the remaining 10,600 claims.

I should have been clearer about this. The point I was trying to make–not very well–was that for Hur, deciding whether to indict Biden was an artificial exercise, because the ultimate, bedrock reason Biden was not indicted was DOJ policy. Whatever Hur decided–no indictment.
To be even clearer, Hurricane did what Comey did in the same position.
Prove that the target broke the law then find a lame excuse to not prosecute said target while approving of attacks meant to bring down the target’s enemy.

So Joe Biden stole classified documents he had no right to possess, got a book deal for $8mm, and then gave the classified documents to his ghostwriter to help write the book.
So basically Joe Biden sold stolen US state secrets for $8mm.

SC Hur could have easily justified going after the $8 Million that Biden got from the book deal if the discussion of the contents of classified documents were anywhere in the book.
There are a dozen federal laws covering the recovery of unjust enrichment and Hur knows that!
A civil action would not require Hur to prove criminal intent or hang on Biden’s current mental state. I guess Hur decided that living to a ripe old age was worth more to him than getting $8 Million for the government?
