I’m not sure what provoked Tucker Carlson to actually follow through on this plan; I know he was deeply worried about being arrested in Russia. However, Carlson did something every U.S. journalist should do, even though they are forbidden by the State Dept from doing it.
The reason the U.S. Government doesn’t want people traveling into Russia, is specifically because people will tell the experience of their time in Russia, and that will run completely counter to the acceptable narrative. Unfortunately, we live in a world choreographed by the U.S. intelligence apparatus to provide us only one skewed version of global reality. There are internet sites that carry translated copies of Mr. Putin’s speeches and public appearances. He is an interesting man. And not nearly the monster that the US press, State Dept., and intelligence agencies make him out to be. He and Trump are much alike in that they both love their countries. I have a beef with many on all the comment sites. Let’s say you read about a person or subject and it interests you. So, you look for more information to corroborate and verify the claims made, and you find them. Months later, you comment on the subject or person when it comes up in another venue. At this time, some mental midget asks you to post links to the information you read months ago. Do they actually expect you to go back, look it all up again, just so you can post it for them? Are they calling you a liar if you do not do all the legwork for them? These lazy, stupid people are too obtuse to even realize how stupid and lazy they sound.

I tend to think that if we are discussing a topic that is a new or very recent subject then we probably do not need to post citations especially if the topic has been discussed ad nauseum.

Counterpoint: Consider posting the links for the other people reading the thread. You never know who is reading and might be swayed by your argument. 90% of people reading comment sections like this don’t participate at all. Your real audience is them and not the troll who is picking a fight.
By reading a link, I sometimes come away with a different opinion than the person posting the link. Being able to see what an assertion is based on either confirms that the statement is true, or maybe it just someone else’s theory, supposition or opinion.
I know at times I recall reading something but I may be off on a detail, maybe even an important one. Recall is not the best evidence of fact.
This is one of the reasons this site is so valuable, in the conditions for comments is the request to always provide links to sources;
so, if there is a topic which comes up where such a comment as you mention gets a reply asking for sources, or links, be prepared to provide the same.
This is the least we can do because, unbeknownst to us, when we provide such links – those get shared by other Treepers and the awareness of the puppet strings gets wider, and more people begin to understand.
Consider such requests not as a personal challenge to your insights, but rather as a request to share how those insights developed so others here can share same to their loved ones. This is how it works, one on one, person to person, so people on that personal level get reminded on how to think for themselves once again.

It is not an invasion when a country is asked to enter boundaries to defend independence, repel aggression, and protect lives and the purpose is not conquering or plundering.

Historical justification for invading Ukraine “or have we been invaded?”. Not seeing any difference in arguments since Soviet times. Putin is not the Russian version of PDJT.
You know darn well that Eastern Ukraine declared their independence from Ukraine and “broke away” forming the Republics of Donetsk and Lugansk in 2014. They have had multiple elections, formed their own government and militia. On top of that they ran out the Ukrainian National Guard ten years ago and have been fighting Ukraine ever since. There are two sides to every story and I just told you the other side for the 3rd or 4th time.
You can’t pretend that Putin woke up one morning and decided to take over Ukraine!
