Rudy Giuliani brought up some good points that were surreptitiously also noted by Victor Davis Hanson. As Giuliani noted in an interview with Newsmax, the core elements of the E Jean Carroll claims never made any sense.
Specifically, Carroll couldn’t even put a date or YEAR on her claims against Donald Trump, but that really didn’t matter in a civil case where the New York state legislature literally wrote a new law that permitted the lawsuit against Donald Trump. WATCH:
Victor Davis Hanson makes some of the same points, only with a little more detail:
VDH – […] “The civil suit serves as a mere preview of four additional leftwing criminal prosecutions, leftwing judges, and leftwing juries to come—all on charges that would never had been filed if Trump either had not run for president or been a liberal progressive.
Yet here we are.
The E. Jean Carroll case is the most baffling of all five. She, the alleged victim, did not remember even the year in which the purported sexual assault took place, nearly three decades ago. Observers have pointed out dozens of inconsistencies in her story.
It was never clear what were the preliminaries that supposedly (Trump denies meeting her) led both, allegedly, willingly to retreat together to a department store dressing room, where during normal business hours the alleged violence took place.
Moreover, the sexual assault complaint came forward decades post facto—and only after Trump was running for and then president.
Carroll eventually sued him for battery, but well after the statute of limitations had expired and thus the case seemed defunct.
Her claims of defamation injuries arise from being fired from her advice column job at ELLE magazine.
She claimed that Trump’s sharp denials and ad hominem retorts led to her career ruin. But the loss for anyone of a column at 76 does not seem such a rare occurrence, and the absence of a salaried job in one’s late seventies for four years does not seem to equate to a $83 million hit.
And note the allegation that her dispute with Trump led to her firing was strongly denied by the very magazine that cut her loose.
But then another strange thing happened. In 2022, a new law (“The Adult Survivors Act”) was passed in the New York legislature. It also post facto established a twelve-month window (beginning six months from the signing of bill) that permitted survivors of long ago alleged sexual assaults suddenly to sue the accused long-ago perpetrator—regardless of the previous statute of limitations.
That unexpected opening suddenly gave Carroll’s prior unsuccessful efforts a rebirth. And she quickly refiled with the help of arch-Trump hating billionaire Hoffman.
Yet the bill may have been introduced with Trump particularly in mind—given the legislator who introduced it, Brad Hoylman-Siga, was known as another Trump antagonist.
More interestingly, he had earlier introduced and had passed another Trump-targeted bill. That “TRUST” act had empowered particular federal Congressional committees to have access to the New York State once sealed tax returns of high-ranking government officials—such as Trump.
That bill’s generally agreed subtext was a green light for anti-Trump members of Congress to obtain legal access to Donald J. Trump’s tax returns.
So there is an eerie feeling that the New York legislature may have abruptly passed legislation that was aimed at the past conduct of Donald Trump but only after he entered the political arena.
While these are not quite bills of attainder, there is something unsettling if they are post facto laws aimed at targeting the most famous and controversial man in America and the leading candidate for the presidency.
In essence they were targeted statutes designed to make Trump’s prior legally unactionable behavior suddenly quite legally actionable.
Trump will be subject to such special treatment all summer and fall.
Prosecutors Bragg, James, Smith, and Willis will synchronize their court business for maximum effect.
Trump again will face leftwing prosecutors, judges, and juries on charges that are politically driven, involving alleged behavior that is either usually not criminalized or not to the same degree as Trump’s case. (Do we remember the nearly $375,000 federal fine belatedly leveled at an exempt Obama but only five years after his 2008 illegal garnering of, and not reporting, foreign campaign contributions?)
The stakes are higher each day as Trump closes in on the nomination and thus becomes the hope of half the country to end the Biden madness.
Somehow Trump will have to stay calm, give no opening to his legion of hostile prosecutors, while conducting a nonstop campaign against Biden (and for a while Hayley), and while fighting to keep his name on various state ballots.
So what we are witnessing is not even the extralegal efforts of Steele/Fusion GPS, Perkins Coie/DNC/Hillary Clinton in 2016, or the 2020 “Russian disinformation” ruse/change the voting laws/infuse half a billion dollars to absorb the work of the registrar machinations against Trump.
We are way beyond all that. The legal system itself, hand-in-glove with leftwing politicos (compare campaign boasts of James and Willis, or prosecutorial visits to the January 6 committee and the White House) is turning the process of balloting and elections into an embarrassing farce.
Still, Trump will have to soldier on. He must stay controlled amid the tsunamis, not play into the hands of his accusers, and remember that he may soon be the only eleventh-hour hope to stop this mockery of American law, customs and traditions.” (link)
perhaps USA justice system is not about rule of law instead a rule of money
Always is.
I already give monthly to PDJT’s campaign. but is there a way to also contribute to his legal defense?
That contributed to his campaign is also used for his legal defense, and he can even spread some around to his fellows in the trenches targeted by the Derps.
This thing is not representative of the women I know. NY is pretty messed up. But there is no way this sham can hold up simply because no date of the alleged crime has been determined.
Welcome to planet Earth…from what ever planet you just arrived from.
One of the whack job crazy female’s books is called, ‘What Do We Need Men For?’
https://us.macmillan.com/books/9781250215437/whatdoweneedmenfor
Well apparently you need rich ones to suggest you sue a rich President.
And a rich President to fraudulently sue.
You need a bogus book deal so you can pretend you are a journalist while slandering a President you intend to sue.
You need bogus journalists to ask the President about your book, so you can get the comments you plan to sue him with.
Then you need rich ones to help you change the laws retroactively in your favor so you can sue for a greater crime + defamation.
And you need rich ones to pay for the attorneys in the bogus suits.
You need a bogus judiciary to pretend the bogus case is anything other than a circus.
You need a bogus jury to pretend the bogus case is anything other than a circus.
And bogus podcasts and articles and media appearances.
The list is endless.
Has she ever been mentally evaluated?
Put under hypnosis so she can discuss her trauma in full?
Done a lie detector test?
Does she have a therapist?
How long has she been seeing them?
He should pay Alina to put together a defense of this non-case in a documentary format and produce it.
Pres. Trump was not allowed to put up much defense because the JUDGE excluded much of what he could put into evidence. On the day of his testimony, the JUDGE told his lawyers what they could ask him. And then interfered in all of Pres. Trump’s answers.
It was the same at the other trial as well.
Any woman who’s been raped or sexually assaulted remembers the day, year & time unless they’re now brain dead or were drugged or out of consciousness when it happened.
Tump is the William Wallace of today and the Democrats are the English he was fighting.
I just hope that the story doesn’t end the same.
This is just outright politically motivated persecution enabled by a system so corrupt that the fascist Uniparty cannot, does not, even try to hide it anymore. Anyone that supports this shit is the REAL threat to the republic for which I stand. Zukerberg is building a bunker. He knows what is coming.
This case was about MORE JUDICIAL FRAUD: Our judicial system, including the JURIES have been corrupted by the SEDITIONIST communist democrat party. The DAs like Letitia James in NY, Fani Willis in Georgia, Jack Smith (the most corrupt of the bunch), et al. are thugs driven by their commitment to OVERTHROW MAGA and America that is being led by Trump and his supporters and who have each sold their souls to take America, MAGA and him down. The N20 fraudulent election was the democrat led INSURRECTION that OVERTHREW America. They have become domestic TERRORISTS. They have no allegiance to the law or the Constitution. As for the jury consultants and jurors, they have helped pervert our once-revered justice system.

Donald Trump in furor stormed out of a New York courtroom for a while, in the defamation suit brought by author and dating/boyfriend/sex-advice columnist E. Jean Carroll. It was just settled against Trump for $83.3 million! The Carroll suit was largely subsidized by Reid Hoffman the billionaire capitalist, and mega-donor to the Democratic Party and leftwing causes. The subtext of Trump’s rage, aside from the outrageous monetary size of the defamation ruling, is that he was facing—and angered—a leftwing claimant, a quite hostile leftwing judge, and a leftwing New York jury. The civil suit serves as a mere preview of four additional leftwing criminal prosecutions, leftwing judges, and leftwing juries to come—all on charges that would never had been filed if Trump either had not run for president or been a liberal progressive. The complete corruption of the judiciary began in 1993, when the Clintons (really HRC) fired ALL of the federal prosecutors. How did the MSM react? It didn’t (imagine if Trump had done that.) Appointments to judge took longer, and the mephitic Clinton (and then Barry O.) worked assiduously to pack the courts. Now we are reaping the harvest of the poisoning of justice in the United States.
The bubbas implemented the communists’ plan to subvert the courts, as was laid out in the early 20th century.
Dear leader put the finishing touches on the corruption, but it was the bubbas who started this long slide to satanic utopia.
Trump is at his best when he is fighting against his enemies?
Are they too stupid or blind to see that their chosen path…Leads directly to their demise?
I have been saying the same thing Rudy said since E Jean Carroll brought this phony case to the press: I had a relative who was a celebrity; every time we shopped in Bergdorf Goodman there were salespeople outside the dressing room just in case she wanted a different size or color- E Jean Carroll had an advice column in a women’s magazine WITH HER PICTURE on the page…It makes no sense that she wouldn’t have gotten that VIP attention. She couldn’t give the YEAR of the incident??? How traumatized could she have been- If it was so traumatic to her , one would think the date would have been indelibly seared into her brain. And why did she wait so long? He was very famous in NYC before he was President- why not bring the case then while it was fresh in your mind? Because it NEVER HAPPENED! Ivana Trump, Melania Trump, E. Jean Carroll? One of these things is not like the other-I can’t imagine Trump would ever have made a pass at her , even if E Jean Carroll had thrown herself at him…These cases are just illustrating how the left is infected with Trump Derangement Syndrome: Fanni Wilis has broken more laws that Trump has; the NY Bankers all testified that they’d do business with Trump again in a NY minute (while Letitia James sits grinning in the first row of the court- doesn’t she have a duty to citizens of NY to be in her office working for them, NOT glaring at Trump?) and Alvin Bragg can’t even decide what to charge Trump with. The Dems should all be ashamed.
If Trump had been at this store, He would’ve been surrounded by salespeople! They would’ve dropped her. So, how would he have gone into a dressing room with her while these salespeople were hovering?
Just a question
If you can have new laws created to target specific people. Such as the following.
CTH – “But then another strange thing happened. In 2022, a new law (“The Adult Survivors Act”) was passed in the New York legislature. Then why can’t the southern states pass laws to target people? If so, then I have a list of some very high impact laws to pass.
Starting with massive damages against stock owners of companies. With all court cases to be done in the south and with juries of far right people. And, with a judge who can best be described as “Crazy as Hell”. And, to borrow from Texas, we would put in an express lane for murders.
Take the existing court case and go to the south and get it ANNULLED!
One last item. All laws passed in the south from this point forward with have one thing in common. Once found guilty, speed and more speed would be the rule. By the time Washington thought to appeal, it’s ruling. It would be all over.
Then why can’t the southern states pass laws to target people? If so, then I have a list of some very high impact laws to pass.
fani and nathan, sitting in a tree, showing their natures for all to see.
Our unjust “judicial” system has run amuck, run by cutthroat Anti-Trump demons!
It’s a travesty what is being done to Trump!
Yet the Marxists in control say there is no election interference!
Yeah, NOBODY believes those lies! I’m totally behind Trump in 2024!
Is say feed this liar E. Jean Carroll to her cat named ‘Vagina’!
WHAT WOMAN ON GOD’S GREEN EARTH FORGETS THE EXACT DATE SHE WAS SEXUALLY ABUSED??!!!!!
Ten of million dollars as “punitive” damages. For what, exactly? For Trump stating his opinion that his accuser is a “liar”. In other words – twenty million dollars per word in his opinion that “She (Carroll) is a liar”.
Punitive damages for torts have always had the potential for abuse, but as a civilized nation, we were mostly able to keep a lid on abuse.
That was then; this is now.
We no longer have a civilized society. We have lawlessness.
Carroll’s problem with the date stems from her claim in New York magazine that she was wearing a specific dress (shown on the cover of the magazine) when the alleged attack occurred. That dress was not being sold when she first claimed the attack occurred. That led to her memory failure.
Falsus in uno, falsus in omnibus.

Not to mention that 4 inch heels were not a “thing” yet in the mid 90s.
Thank you. Used to be that the devil was in the details. But I fear that in today’s pathetic excuse for a court of law, the details are irrelevant.
It is so heart rending knowing sin has beat justice .
The most absurd thing is that E. Jean Carroll is just not Trump material.
This woman I suspect is a fantasist.
IMHO, she is a wannabe attractive woman and a fiction writer. There are a great many woman like her in New York. They are competitively vying for attention.
She got more than her rightful share of attention by claiming all sorts of sexual escapades. She reminds me of the character of Roxie Hart in the play/movie Chicago. Lying through her teeth, each lie more outlandish to keep her in the public eye.
My bet is she won’t see a dime of his money and will be remembered as the has-been or should I say never-been she truly is.
Can everyone on the comment board see just how corrupt the Judicial system/ Government is that we live under in this day?
How safe do you really feel nowadays? Standing in a large store or gathering. How safe are you? From your financial well-being to your physical well-being. Just how safe are you? In my meager opinion. Not very
God help Trump to stay the course until this disgusting person wears all of her appeals out. 83 million smackers to a shriveled husk of a feminist, really???!
