I am sure he was quite satisfied and relieved to bring this case in, on a Friday no less, and receive his lauditory praise from his fellow jurists who see Trump as the devil incarnate.
Soon enough he will become uncomfortable as this goes to appeal and the stench of his courtroom becomes apparent. His soiled trousers will cling to him and that momentary warmth will turn cold and clammy.

An appeal would go through the 2nd Circuit. The balance on that court is 7 to 6 in favor of judges appointed by Democrats, but it includes 5 appointed by Trump. Failing that it would go to the Supreme Court, but Democrats don’t care if they lose on appeal. The object was to damage Trump before the election. I am no expert, but I doubt an appeal will be heard in federal court until after the election. Trump will never have to pay $83 million, but Dems will throw around that number ad nauseum until the election.

The one significant flaw I could spot in the original verdict, which is the foundation for the later verdicts, is the judge’s admission of “propensity” evidence. He allowed in testimony by different women who claimed Trump tried to grope or molest them.
However, the alleged incidents took place in many different years, in many different situations (including sitting on a plane). There was little or no similarity among the alleged incidents, and all were used for a very vague, speculative argument that “Trump will try to take advantage of a woman whenever he can.”
I hope that Trump’s lawyers argue that this was reversible error. This evidence was extremely prejudicial and likely affected the outcome of the trial.
And each woman would have been paid a hefty sum of $$$$.

There are so many grounds for appeal in this case; the most important being Defendant Trump’s inability to defend himself. The judge did everything he could to prevent Habba from making a record to take up on appeal and even threatened her with putting her in the “lockbox” if she continued.
Before a judge sends a jury back for deliberation, the judge gives the jurors jury instructions depending on the type of case being decided. In this case the judge took the role of the Plaintiff’s (Carroll) attorney and advised the jury to remember this is the Defendant (Tromp) who placed his fingers in the Plaintiff’s private parts. This had nothing to do with the defamation case (was in the prior case and not proven) but the judge’s statement was used to inflame the jury. That was grounds for a mistrial. The judge was extremely biased throughout the trial along with a biased jury.
It seems to me that most of the judges/prosecuting attorneys in the Trump cases are trying to “outrageous” each other and don’t apply the law at all. It really is the courtroom version of the Apprentice.
Thankfully, President Trump has the physical/spiritual make up to deal with all of this. Mark Steyn is not so blessed. I saw a photograph of him today on Gateway Pundit coming out of the courtroom where he is defending himself in a defamation case which has been going on for 12 years. Steyn has had three heart attacks and is confined to a wheelchair. He looks like an old man. It has really taken a toll on him.
So, continue to pray for President Trump and his attorneys. Most trial attorneys age fast; it takes a toll especially in a high profile case such as this.

I hope she at least was able to make an offer of proof for each piece of evidence that she tried to get into the record. Then it should go up in the record. If he denied her the opportunity to make offers of proof (outside the hearing of the jury, if necessary), it could be more reversible error.

Alina Habba gave an excellent and impassioned speech in defense of P Trump but it obviously pales in comparison to the tsunami of lefty news outlets that are treating this verdict as the top story of the day.

Whatever the legal demerits of these cases, and no matter what happens on appeal later, this verdict foreshadows and maybe greenlights a massive judgment against Trump from Engoron in the “fraud” case.
James asked for $350 million, up from an opening bid of $250 mil. The Carroll lawyer asked for $24 million, from a $12 mil opener. The jury awarded $83 million.
Applying the universal law of guessing, I would place my $2 bet on a $1.2 Billion order from judge Engoron.
