Justin from Canada and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland, used the invocation of the Canadian Emergency Powers Act to seize Truckers’ and their supporters bank accounts, block mortgages, eliminate loans and credit cards, seize personal assets and otherwise use financial mechanisms to target their political opposition.
Yesterday a federal judge in Canada ruled the use of the Emergency Powers Act was unconstitutional.
CANADA – […] On Feb. 14, 2022, the federal government invoked the Emergencies Act for the first time in its history, arguing at the time that the national security risks stemming from the protests justified its use.
The move allowed the federal government to enact wide-sweeping but temporary powers to help officials crack down on protesters’ access to funds, grant the RCMP jurisdiction to enforce local laws, designate critical infrastructure and services, and impose fines and imprisonment on participants who refused to leave the protest zone.
“I have concluded that the decision to issue the Proclamation does not bear the hallmarks of reasonableness – justification, transparency and intelligibility – and was not justified in relation to the relevant factual and legal constraints that were required to be taken into consideration,” stated Federal Court Justice Richard Mosley.
Mosley added that “there can be only one reasonable interpretation” of the Emergencies Act and CSIS Act, and that he believes “the legal constraints on the discretion of the GIC to declare a public order emergency were not satisfied.”
Mosley also stated that, factoring for the definition of a “national emergency” under the Act, “there was no national emergency” to justify its use, and that “the decision to do so was therefore unreasonable” and beyond the powers of the law. (read more)

As a Canadian, as nice as it is that the courts finally ruled on what we all knew, it’s two years too late and many, many dollars short. And what will the punishment be? Nothing? What a surprise. Our government can literally trample us then use our money to appeal. Any appeal costs should come straight from Trudeau/Freeland’s bank accounts. Many of us will NEVER forget what they did. I have no faith left for politics or banking or online fundraising. These people are the definition of scum.

I went to a freedom rally in my city and there were people videotaping the vehicles with drivers honking their horns. And this was after my husband got his bank account frozen for sending a few dollars to the truckers for their meals. This is not the Canada I grew up in.

Canadian here. This is significant and gratifying. A lot of federal judges dismissed Charter challenges to Covid restrictions citing mootness because the restrictions were not longer in place by the time the hearing held. This judge actually heard it and addressed the issue of mootness (i.e. the EA was revoked after 9 days). But he went ahead. Canadians tend to be respectful of the courts but of course the media up here including the CBC are not hammering away on the FACT that Trudeau violated the Charter protection. Trudeau actually had the nerve to lecture Chinese leader on how Canada supports free expression and also claimed at a university talk that there was no vaccine mandate. Crickets from the media. Canada is like on giant blue state north of the US border and it is frustrating but we should applaud this justice who by the way was a trucker before being a judge and is retiring in a few months as he is over 75. I am so glad the Courts stepped up on this. And glad Sundance reported. NOTE the judge specifically signalled out the value of the Canadian Constitution Foundation and the Canadian Civil Liberties Association so you had both left and right groups challenging this action. Wonderful outcome by Justice Mosley who was appointed by a Liberal PM. Now the appeals court has 15 judges, 13 were appointed by Castro Jr. I read at Rebel News. I hope and pray that this ruling stays and is not overturned. Many Canadians went through hell back in 2022. I was caught up due to my donating to the Truckers, hence my location was disclosed along with many others in our city. Fortunately hubby and I went to the banks, withdrew our money that was not locked up in term deposits. The banks tried to dissuade us from taking cash, preferred if need be to take bank drafts instead. No way we stood firm. I will add there was a run for many to the banks. This evil traitor Castro along with C. Freeland and other ministers that were involved in the EA need to be held accountable for the pain to all involved with their insane acts. As a Canadian non-vaxxed, and I speak in the name of many others as well, when the restrictions kicked in but much worse, the seizure of bank accounts that donated money to the Trucker movement, I freaked out.
We were living in a state of pure terror if we donated (as I had) and we were opening bank accounts in credit unions and transferring money in lots. We were also looking into selling our houses, our furniture, and buying home trailers on wheels to escape tyranny.
And people in Quebec that I know, unvaxxed, the government wanted to impose a ‘significant’ special tax, and 82% of Quebecers agreed with the proposition. And the Justin government was looking into doing the same.
If you haven’t lived it, few can absorb the terror that the governments put us through. NEVER FORGIVE and UNFORGETTABLE.
Exactly 100% on point, and the terror was done to us entirely on purpose, that is the definition of psychopath.
That terror we felt is with us for life. At the mention of certain words, it all comes back. And we can’t sue the government because we can’t prove in Court if we’re jabbed or not jabbed since medical records are private.
