Good grief, talk about burning cash…. According to Politico, the three corporate super PACs and the Nikki Haley campaign have spent almost $30 million in New Hampshire on ad buys.
Three super PACs backing Haley — SFA Fund (aka Randal and Barbara Smith, Alden Global Capital), Americans for Prosperity (aka Charles Koch) and Independents Moving the Needle (aka Jonathan Bush, the cousin of former President George W. Bush, billionaire CEO Frank Laukien, and Big Pharma) have spent more than $24 million across TV, radio and digital ads targeting New Hampshire, according to data from AdImpact, an ad tracking platform. Haley’s own campaign has chipped in another $4.7 million.

President Trump played this primary contest brilliantly, with a little assist from divine providence.
President Trump kicked off his campaign in South Carolina and now has the teams of the governor and both senators on his side. The South Carolina electorate is filled with MAGA base supporters, and Trump has essentially funneled DeSantis and Haley into a no-win position.
Knock out Haley in New Hampshire, crush them both in Nevada with an Iowa like outcome, then stomp them in their fallback position, South Carolina.
This primary contest should be over immediately following South Carolina.

as far as internet ads, my browser (Brave) has ad blocking, so I never see ads unless it’s classic TV advertising from the 80s & earlier
Internet streaming is well on it’s way of killing off those particularly antiquated media models on radio and television.
Few will mourn it outside of those that formally made a sizable living off of it.
pro tip: if you install brave browser, you never see ads on youtube. ‘free with ads’ becomes ‘just plain free’

Between the obnoxious ads and extraneous background crud (mostly adware) on a lot of websites it uses an obscene amount of system resources just to do anything so simple as reading science and technology articles that’s mostly just text on the page.

Using Brave by typing in the site name each time is now the only way I can find to be able to stay on this site without the crime syndicate continually refreshing and kicking me out.

Tip: Brave still has hooks to Google, and when I run it sandboxed and then clear the contents after closing it, Sandboxie finds a HUGE number of residual files and folders to clear out, sometimes 1200 or more. That’s 5-10 times more than any of the other browsers I run sandboxed. This is AFTER I clear all cookies, history and everything else from Brave before I close it. Where does it all come from? I don’t trust Brave any more than I would Chrome. Vivaldi is the second-worst, but the amount of residual files/folders after a Vivaldi session is typically a third or less than is found in Brave.
Firefox (with adblocker, containers, etc) is still the best I’ve got on my PC for blocking youtube ads and more. And Firefox is as safe as any browser out there if all telemetry and autocomplete functions are unchecked and device accesses (camera etc) are blocked. Or even better, LibreWolf (a very slim Firefox fork).
FYI, Firefox is part of Open Society, a $oros operation. I’ll stick with Brave.
You can choke down as much of Firefox as you want. FF typically leaves behind about 1% of what Brave does. And like I said, LibreWolf is completely disconnected. Also WaterFox.
Dissenter (courtesy of Gab) is a Brave clone that sometimes completely fails to work on some websites because it throttles down the garbage WAY too much. Again compared to Brave, Dissenter residuals are usually 10% of less than those of Brave.
The point is that you have NO IDEA what and to whom Brave is telegraphing.
Another factor is that we can’t know whether what is true today will still be true tomorrow. In the age of Epstein we just can’t afford to ever get complacent. I personally don’t trust ANYTHING out there 100%.

I have an older version of Sandboxie and am afraid to update my pale moon browser, a firefox fork, in case the browser update makes Sandboxie no longer useable.
Apologies for not seeing this sooner. I have Pale Moon installed too (though I actually like LibreWolf better). In fact I have about a dozen browsers installed on my primary (Windows 7) laptop, almost all of them sandboxed.
Thus far I haven’t had any problems updating browsers in relation to Sandboxie. The biggest problem I have is that Sandboxie crashes at least once a week. Those crashes might be from browser updates, although that doesn’t appear to be the case. And even if it is, Sandboxie still appears to trap all the garbage even as it’s getting ready to crash.
My biggest fear is that all of it is going to stop working eventually. Seems like every month or so, another website fails to load or perform correctly in FireFox or any Sandboxie’d browser. And we can blame either Microsoft (win10+) or google (Chrome) for 100% of that — i.e., web designers catering more and more to one or the other of those megoliths of mind control.

I live in greater Boston area and can’t convey enough how annoying her constant TV ads with her phony exaggerated southern drawl. A friend in Southern NH is inundated with mailings and received 7 postcards in one day. Wasted Sea Island cash.
The marionette strings are so obvious in NH. I travel all over for work and until about 2-3 weeks ago, there were zero Nikki signs anywhere. Early on, there were Vivek signs and Marianne Williamson signs but only on the sides of state routes…or in the traffic islands. I saw one DeSantis sign in someone’s yard near the Seacoast. To be sure, the blue towns in the state (which correlate with “institutions of higher learning” like Hanover/Dartmouth, Durham/UNH, etc) have leftover Biden, Warren and Hilary signs. The rest of the state has a lot of Trump signs. My favorites are those brought back out from the last cycle with Pence crossed out. Anyhow, all of a sudden, I’m getting two Nikki mailers per day and the Nikki signs are all over state routes but not in anyone’s yard. Hello astroturf! Perhaps this is the year with enough shenanigans to prompt a real change our laws to prevent the riff raff driving up from MA to mess up our elections.

Proctor and Gamble had a profit revenue for the same year 2022 of 80 BILLION DOLLARS! So spending 100 Million dollars on ads to reach 1.6 Billion “impressions” works out to be a very tiny cost of doing business…around .0625 percent! or 100 million divided by 80 Billion in revenue = less than 1/10 of 1 percent!
so it makes “sense” that proctor and gamble would spend 100 million in ads…it’s barely a smidgeon on operating costs.
but then you compare this to political campaigns…and the obvious question comes up:
what is the expected revenue for winning? Why are donors spending this amount of money and in return for how much when they do win?
it’s a simple question.
when you start to understand nature of modern politics and the massive amounts of money, none of it seem sane…how could someone spend 30 million dollars in new hampshire for a population that would be less than 2 million? what was the expectation for a return on that investment? no one spends 30 million dollars unless there is some expected return?
and when you lose a campaign? how are those monies recouped?
