That involves preparing to take legal action and send letters to Trump appointees spelling out consequences they’d face if they undermine constitutional norms.
“We’re already starting to put together a team to think through the most damaging types of things that he [Trump] might do so that we’re ready to bring lawsuits if we have to,” said Mary McCord, executive director of the Institution for Constitutional Advocacy and Protection at Georgetown Law.
Part of the aim is to identify like-minded organizations and create a coalition to challenge Trump from day one, those taking part in the discussions said. Some participants are combing through policy papers being crafted for a future conservative administration. The “J6 committee staff” that led the conversations with Fani Willis is a person, and that person’s name is Mary McCord. As the lead in the J6 staff effort, there is simply no way to believe the committee staff that met with Fani Willis did not include McCord.

So, we have an employee/official of the federal government colluding with other federal officials, to manage a years-long effort to subvert the Constitution (treasonously?) to:
-deny a sitting president his due and subvert his plans, actions, policies, etc.,
-then interfere with a national election in which that president was a candidate,
-is now interfering with another presidential election in which he is a candidate,
-while also colluding with other federal officials to disrupt this same candidate’s presidency should he win the election.

It sounds remarkably like an insurrection to me. Why is obstructing a president in his duty any different from obstructing the Congress from doing theirs?

You are correct. However, I’m not sure, even after all that’s happened to him, Trump has the understanding to manoeuvre through the process to make that happen. As well, if he wins, and he should, they will make sure he has more than enough violent actions to deal with, ala BLM, antifa, etc., that he won’t have a moment to try and work out those kinds of issues. I believe they will make sure our country is on fire for four years if he pulls this off. He will need such a strong cabinet of loyal patriots who understand what’s at stake and are frankly willing to give up everything to stand for this country. They have already made sure no one will want to do that, or at least tried, by lawfaring to death the good people that stood with him before. The message was loud and clear. This will only happen if God is on our side because it’s going to take a miracle to pull it off.
