Truly I believe what is going to happen is that a few states will print the “wrong” ballot excluding President Trump’s name as a result of all the “confusion” if you know what I mean.

due to a quirk in maine constitution, it is the secretary of state who first makes the decision to make rule over candidates who can be named. But that’s not the end of the process. it then goes to public hearing and public petition and then finally to the state legislature. Not defending here actions, just pointing out the peculiar procedures written in maine’s constitution.
compounding this peculiar process is obviously the results of an appeal to the state supreme court (and a possible scotus ruling following that).
so this is far from being “over”.

Some DNC operative must have called her to tell her she was interfering with Colorado’s attempt to walk-back their disastrously stupid ruling. Colorado’s Sec State suspended their court’s order today and is keeping Trump on the ballot for the time being. How any of these people think they have powers to carry these unilateral decrees is just stunning.
That is not at all what happened. Trump was never removed from the CO ballot. SD pointed this out to us days ago. Trump is to remain on the ballot pending a review regardless of how long the review might take. Colorado’s SOS did not walk back anything at all. Its been on page nine of the ruling since it was released. Its kind of the same deal in Maine. Bellows suspended her desicion pending the appeal which means Trump stays on the Maine ballot.
Wasn’t this all planned out in the original ruling? If the supremes didn’t rule by the 4th, Trumps on the ballot until they do?

Actually, no. The County Recorder oversees a small staff of permanent employees that oversee a larger staff of temporary hires and they, all together are the ones who count the votes, in each county in maine, like every other state.
The SoS just collects the tallies as supplied by each county.
