For several years many people have made inquiries about CTH content not being available on their devices. I have always responded with the same answer, check your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and if you are using AT&T or a regional subsidiary therein, that’s the source of the issue; it’s not a CTH technical problem.
For what follows, keep in mind that AT&T is not just an internet service and cell phone service provider. AT&T is also Turner (CNN) and Time Warner (HBO) etc. {link} Also you might notice the CNN aspect in hotels and airport broadcasts. Additionally, pay attention to the segment underlined below that applies to all other providers that join in technical collaboration with AT&T to provide services. Meaning it’s not just AT&T that ultimately is the issue here.

You can see how the Obama administration originated the issue in 2009. Then, following the controversy of the Tea Party targeting by the DOJ/IRS, if you have read the CTH articles about the 2009 creation of the Fourth Branch of Government, this letter from Senator Ron Wyden outlines the source of the 2009 origin we have been talking about.
Barack Obama and Eric Holder did not create a weaponized DOJ and FBI; the institutions were already weaponized by the Patriot Act. What Obama and Holder did was take the preexisting system and retool it, so the weapons of government only targeted one side of the political continuum.
This point is where many people understandably get confused.

(1) The Patriot Act turned the intel surveillance radar from foreign searches for terrorists to domestic searches for terrorists.
(2) Obama/Biden then redefined what is a “terrorist” to include their political opposition.
In the era shortly after 9/11, the DC national security apparatus, instructed by Vice President Dick Cheney, was constructed to preserve continuity of government and simultaneously view all Americans as potential threats. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) were created specifically for this purpose.
After 9/11/01, the electronic surveillance system that was originally created to monitor threats from abroad was retooled to monitor threats inside our country. That is when all of our electronic ‘metadata’ came under federal surveillance.
That inflection point, and the process that followed, was exactly what Edward Snowden tried to point out.
What Barack Obama and Eric Holder did with that new construct was refine the internal targeting mechanisms so that only their political opposition became the target of this new national security system.
The problems we face now as a country are directly an outcome of two very distinct points that were merged by Barack Obama. (1) The post 9/11 monitoring of electronic communication of American citizens; and (2) Obama’s team creating a fine-tuning knob that it focused on the politics of the targets. Wyden has a civil libertarian streak to him. Way back when he was in the House, he was more like Dennis Kucinich.
Wyden’s views on privacy align with Rand Paul’s. He has actually worked with Sen Paul on the issue including the last time Sen Paul went to the well of the Senate to filibuster. Wyden was one of the senators asking Paul questions to keep the filibuster going.
I suppose it’s possible his views just happen to line up on this one issue… like a broken clock being right once and a while.

Is there a connection between that incident and this news about AT&T being paid by our federal govt to do continuous nonwarrant-issued searches and seizures of private (conversations) information? Was someone trying to stop something then?
Wish I could remember when and where that was. Thinking it was while Obama was still in office.

BlackBerry might have been the route for anyone concerned about privacy and security but they have been out of the cell phone business since about 2017.
Frank has a good point. The Calyx OS is an operating system that removes the Google Android system completely. If I remember right, that particular OS only works completely on the Pixel platform. It reputedly doesn’t include the spyware. I wouldn’t count on it being secure though. I would have to think a rooted phone with a replacement OS would draw attention in the carrier systems and have a “fix” promptly applied.

FASCISM. When I first learned a working definition of the term, it specifically involved government and business working together. Later that definition changed as so many mysteriously do (for example the definition of vaccine) to better suit political interests. I then found myself asking “what, then is the difference between fascism and dictatorship?” because the definition became one that was effectively the same. Someone in conversation asserted the difference (not defined at the time) was left vs right wing and fascism was right wing. My AT&T story: In July of 2021 I was working at my job of self employed flooring installer. It was early afternoon on a weekday and I went to make an urgent business call. My call is routed to AT&T and someone answers. I hang up figuring I mis-dialed. I dialed my customer’s number again and end up with AT&T again.
Now I’m figuring something might be wrong with my phone service so I start talking with an AT&T representative. He starts in with a spiel about my phone not working after January 4th, 2022 and I need a new phone. I tell him to call me back later and that I need my phone to make an important call right now! He asks if it’s a 911 call so I tell him “no”. He tells me I have to talk with him and the sooner I cooperate and wrap things up, the sooner they will FIX MY PHONE! I tell him there’s nothing wrong with my phone except AT&T won’t let me use it!
He starts in with the 4G – 5G business and I cut him off. I’m a New Yorker and we can speak quickly when we need to. I ask him if this is over the impending shut down of 4G and that phones will all need to be 5G capable after January 4th? I don’t give him time to answer and immediately tell him I’m well aware of this and I was shopping for a new phone already and I’d have it by January 1st, 2022.
He ignores what I told him and starts in again with the 4G cutoff and my need for a new phone. I try a new tact and tell him that my AT&T plan is a pre paid account. I tell him AT&T is stealing the time I already bought and paid for. His response was to go back to his spiel about being prepared for the end of 4G … yada, yada, yada.
I then go another route. I tell him I have a pre-paid account with no contract. I tell him, while he drones on about the 4G thingy, that I will not be an AT&T customer the next month because of AT&T refusing to let me use my phone when I desperately needed to.
The call took 15 minutes. I was lucky that I got back with my customer in time. This happened in July or August of ’21 and I left AT&T and went with T- Mobile just as I said I would. Apparently, AT&T started removing customers who did not buy their phones through AT&T … locked phones … as opposed to my BlackBerry Q10 which was an unlocked phone. Whether AT&T was also trying to get rid of all 4G cell phones to herd people into buying all new 5G locked phones through them, I cannot say. With Covid 19 “vaccines” still fresh in my mind I have to wonder about any dangers associated with 5G signals?
T-Mobile gave my unlocked BlackBerry Q10 service without a hitch and I did buy another unlocked cell phone before the January 4th, 2022 deadline, a 4G Unihertz Titan. I did a ton of research and decided I would have 4G service for at least another 5 years in the US. Seems all the media hoopala about 4G phones being useless in 2022 is nonsense. My 4G Titan has worked every place any other cell phone has worked and I’m sure most/many of them are 5G. My old 4G BlackBerry Q10 still works!!! In your face AT&T !!!

Can you imagine General Motors sending someone to your home and blocking your driveway and not letting you leave until they get 15 minutes of your time to tell you about an upcoming change to automobiles? Ron Wyden has always been good at screaming out accusations at others for the very things he and his party are supporting and personally practicing.
