Everything about the case in New York City against the Trump organization business operations is ridiculous. There are no victims. There was no fraud. All of the lenders did their own due diligence. All of the loans were paid back without issue and the statement of financial condition was factual and accurate.
Additionally, the statute being used as the predicate for the case is a consumer fraud statute, intended to protect borrowers from predatory lenders. In the four corners of this case, Trump is the borrower, and the banks were the lenders. New York is flipping the statute to claim the borrower defrauded the lenders, despite the lenders denying there was any fraud and there was no harm. The entire case is ridiculous.

The entire case is a joke. You have two corrupt idiots, one not qualified to be attorney general and the other even less qualified to be a judge.
I don’t interpret any of the Trump legal team’s current efforts as being aimed at winning this case, because the case itself, ridiculous as you may esteem it, is already lost at this level. The judge has decided fraud occurred. This is the penalty phase, and all that is to be determined is which parties are more or less guilty, and what the penalties will be.
These lawyer pressers are PR appeals to everyone outside the case. If they are smart, they are mostly preparing for the actual appeal soon to come.
There are two very different “cases” going on.
Firstly, this IS Lawfare, which means the charges are being brought for HEADLINES, as a case being brought “In the Court of public opinion” and PDJT certainly has to fight that case, and win it.
In part, it depends on the old “lie runs around the World, before truth can get its running shoes laced up.”
So PDJT and his team must counter the false narrative the prosecutors are putting out, and RIGHT AWAY.

The Trump legal team have filed 30+ appeals or motions to higher courts, so they have been busy.
But then, this judge’s latest decision will be smacked-down on appeal. Just like so many of his other cases were. This man has a “thing” against real-estate developers, and he considers himself to be a law unto himself. He has done this several times before. But he still hasn’t lost his job yet.
He actually knows nothing about how investment works, nor how one does a property-tax appraisal of an apartment with a balcony. But, instead of seeking expert counsel for his Court (as he is legally required to do), he has baldly said on-the-record that “expert testimony is not evidence.” Even though, plainly, nothing else could be “evidence” in a case like this one.
He will, “just as he has done before,” render the “decision” that he likes. One that reflects what he thinks the law and procedure ought to be. And then, his verdict will be tossed out – again – by superiors who actually know what they are doing. After millions of taxpayer dollars have been tossed down the drain.
