If I was a fiction novelist, the IDF special ops teams would be all over Gaza right now, basically snuggling right up to the people holding the hostages. I’d then write about a coordinated simultaneous hit by the ops teams on the offending ragheads, hustling the hostages to safe locations, followed by a hellish ground invasion destroying anything and everything that provides any resistance–all targets of any age fair game.

The New York Times published an article yesterday based on unnamed official sources who confirmed that the administration is pressuring Israel to delay the ground offensive:

But pray for those remaining as Hamas understands the IDF will show no mercy if they release them. And rightly so. With their opinions as your guide, you will simply deny there are any factual concerns behind those two questions and deny their legitimacy, followed by name calling.

Once you’ve answered these questions–and your answers will be based on the most credible speculation by the most informed intelligence-connected whistleblower types, hard as it obviously is to get deep state actors to answer themselves to anything–ask yourself 2 more questions:

Also the Syrian Arab Army, isn’t the rolling circus it was before 2012. It’s a much more battle-hardened outfit than the Israeli ground forces, and there are at least two well-equipped Syrian divisions near the Golan Heights. I’m sure they’d be quite eager to at least take back Golan, (which was/is theirs in all fairness) it depends on if Assad feels secure enough about potential blowback to roll the dice.
