Obviously, I do not personally like this idea, as I think it’s just another bondo and spray paint application upon the Republican wing of the UniParty. However, oddly enough when John Boehner stepped down, I wanted to see Jim Jordan instead of Paul Ryan. Goes to show how rapidly the machinery in DC can compromise someone.
Ukraine will get funded. Jordan will be the arbiter of which DC inhabitants will be protected from subpoenas; the House will change the rules to protect him. The door nameplates change, and everyone goes back to business as usual. Meh, I wonder who will be placed as chair of the Judiciary Committee and Weaponization Committee?

I trusted President Trump to reassure the country that he was working hard toward solutions to the virus brought from China.
He advocated for medications such as HCQ and Ivermectin, ramped up manufacturing of PPE, here in America, ventilators that the media were screeching every day that we didn’t have enough of, and the lowering of unnecessary red tape in the search for a vaccine.
President Trump never issued a mandate for anything at all. He never advocated that everyone should get the vax. He argued for medical freedom to choose treatment options, and for States’ Rights. State governors shut down states and mandated the vax, they allowed companies operating within their borders to issue mandates to employees.
Not President Trump.
As President Trump has indicated multiple times, MAGAs path to cleaning out DC is up through the states …….. not by working through the current incumbents …… sure yell at them and prod them into action but don’t expect anything from them…….. they are all compromised, ALL OF THEM.
The effort to come “up through the states”, thanks to the relentless and effective effort by President Trump along with his MAGA / America First state / local forces, has made some great progress over the past 2+ years.
This current action of “holding keveeee’s feet to the fire” to do what he promised to do to get the job in January, or else he would have a “vacate” vote entered ……. is just the latest example of MAGA’s state majorities in action.
The impeachment trial of Texas’ AG Paxton is another example. Now before the League of “Doubting Thomases” and “Negative Nellies” activates their knee jerk reaction of “Texas is turning blue”, the “not-guilty” verdict by the jury of State Senators was a major victory of the MAGA / America First strength at the county and state party level over the “Bush GOPe/RINO political crime family. So much so that Mr. Paxton’s attorney in his closing arguments said, and I paraphrase, “the Bush era in Texas is over, they need to leave Texas and move to Maine.”
So, there is still a lot of work to be done at the local level with cleaning out the fraudulent election processes / people and endorsing President Trump’s candidates, but President Trump and his MAGA / America First state forces are on the move and are racking up victories.

The Ukrainians chose Zelensky because he promised peace and see how well this turned out. This is the flaw of Democracy. It appears that the choice boils down to Jordan or Scalise. Of the two, I think Trump was wise to back Jordan.

I confess, I have found Ron Paul to be, like Rush Limbaugh, like DJT himself, an acquired taste, one for whom I acquired “the taste” (i.e., appreciation) far too slowly. Something about the externals: Paul’s pipsqueak tone of voice, Rush’s tactic of mockery, DJT’s mean tweets—these are the things that people at first find abrasive and then use as a pretext to reject these imperfect messengers. Over time, though, when one comes to realize and recognize the size, scale, relentlessness, depravity, treachery, etc. of the enemies they are (were, have been) battling, all of a sudden: respect, admiration, and appreciation. Breitbart, too, was often dissed for being too confrontational. But such is the watershed response that the happy warriors among us demand of us. There is something prophetic about it: “Choose this day whom you will serve, but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” This is not to say, by any means, that all such are squeaky clean Christians, but somehow God in his infinite wisdom raises up such people in order to clarify what is at stake, and the opposing forces that are engaged, in this age-old spiritual conflict.
As for Jim Jordan, and even Kevin McCarthy (who quite obviously, in retrospect, had feet of clay, and this also seemed apparent at a gut level going in), I would humbly suggest that we not decide in advance what he, they, or anyone is “bound” to do when the going gets tough. Jordan, like nearly everyone who has breathed the air of the DC swamp for more than two minutes, is very likely compromised, blackmail-able, etc. But Jordan is also a wrestler. So when the pressure is applied at any given moment, over any given decision or policy, he may—like any wrestler—buckle and surrender, or he may reawaken and get a second wind, and if that second wind is of God, he will be unstoppable. The point is that a checkered record does not necessarily mean doom when you pass through the fire. Pray that he, DJT 47, the eight (who would have thought Nancy Mace would come through in a pinch? Do I think she is now reliable? Hardly, but let’s see), and others will be given the grace and courage and integrity they need—and the country needs of them—when they arrive, or are thrust, into the valley of decision.

We judge in the negative Jordan because has a history of saying all the right things but with no results. President Trump’s MO has been to allow others to save face. Would like to believe Jordon has some level of integrity – but I would never bet on it… Odds are, he was compromised long before he entered politics. I’m amazed he was able to ‘conceal’ it all this time in plain site – that is on us, we saw what we wanted to see.

I remember when Rush talked about when he talked to Trump after the election. He said he asked Trump what he thought the democrats and others who opposed him would do since he had won. He said Trump told him that he believed everyone would come together and back him to try and fix America. Rush told him that they wouldn’t, that they would try to destroy him and undermine him. He said Trump didn’t believe him.
That was Trump’s problem. At the start, and even some ways into his presidency, he wrongly believed that these people wanted what was in America’s interests, that they were actually good people with bad ideas. It took him a long time to realize that there are precious few good people in politics, the majority are out to make themselves rich. And if getting rich requires the destruction of the US, they’ll do it with a smile on their face.
The swamp does not usually encounter an opponent like Trump. They have done enough to him to crumble most, if not any normally ambitious man. He still stands and fights.
He shames DC with his courage to fight. Let us pray that some brave souls join him. The swamp cannot stand constant sunlight, but criticizing Trump because people he supports are not loyal is unfair.
Prepare to be disappointed. Again. Nobody but Trump has the balls to take on the deep state.

I’ve been feeling the same way about Jordan over the last few years. A lot of anger and righteous indignation, but no real action. Maybe, just maybe, we can get a little incremental movement in the right direction with a SOH Jordan. I can’t imagine Gaetz, Biggs and others won’t be able to secure some meaningful reforms out of this process. Perhaps Jordan and his surrogates have made some meaningful promises to get Trump on board…but, of course, he supported McCarthy long after he outed himself as a useless RINO.

The problem we have here is, there is no better choice.
Our only best strat going forward is to elect members of the Freedom Caucus as Speaker. We’ll just have to leverage their ongoing peer pressure. It’s the only and best tool we have at the moment.

Realistically though, accepting the Speaker’s gavel opened Trump up to attacks that he wasn’t really serious about the presidential race. It would not have been enough to cost him the primary, but a narrowing of support vis-a-vis DeSantis or Haley was unthinkable for someone with Trump’s ego. The ability to tout his huge lead in the polls is important to him.
And believe it or not, this whole McCarthy episode is a sobering lesson to Jordan and other Uni-party denizens (are you listening Kilmeade, Levin?) that the American spirit is not quite dead, that the old girl still has some push-back in her yet. The pretense will at least have to be better choreographed going forward.

Sundance, serious two-part question:
IF Jordan is being blackmailed, is there ANY chance that him taking the Speakership, with the backing of Trump and the conservatives, would give him enough backing to break free and return to some version of his “before” self?
If not, then HOW do we put into place protections for the people running for office to keep blackmail, real or imagined, from happening? If we want to maintain our current version of government, or revert to its original intentions, how do we extricate the puppet masters to prevent future corruption? Is that even possible anymore?
I was wondering that myself, does Gym Jordan have it in him to squash his tormentors? With the powers available as Speaker and his familiarity with procedure, looks like “where there’s a will there’s a way” for Jordy if he has the heart and soul for it…

The 8 should not need protection, it is only because the Uniparty is unused to free speech and real political opposition that they stand out. It should always be this way, political opponents fighting and arguing over outcomes.
