Receivership is not identical with bankruptcy.
But a colorable argument can be made that forcibly winding up Mr Trump’s businesses constitutionally would be the province of federal bankruptcy court, not a state court.
Aside from that, a sweeping ‘corporate death penalty’ as the remedy for a valuation dispute is as absurd as a 20-year prison sentence for littering – it shocks the conscience.
The proposed punishment is not only unusual, but completely disproportionate. And apparently based on tainted, tendentious facts as well.

I have reflected.. and I am assuredly confused that this type of aggression has shown its face here on the Treehouse. It seems that most riding adversely affect the folks who are tasked with handling their business of everyday life.. a consideration the folks who use my neighborhood for their weekend getaways from the life they chose, to foist their bad behaviors upon the innocent victims of the one those people chose. You can’t carry on a conversation outside in this neighborhood for having to quit conversing b/c of car clubs, motorcycles and other loud obnoxious behavior from these folks. It is infuriating to say the least. Most place the locals concerns with this way over on the back burner with unsafe driving, trespassing, and other things they would call the law on you over if their neighborhood was treated such. Try being on time for an appointment with a 30 mile drive ahead of it when caught on curvy mtn. roads following 50-60 bicycles huffing their way up a steep slope, and you would understand the frustration. The picture it every day, not just weekends and you will see the adverse reality of sharing the two lane bike lane minus highways with them.

Do the Democrats, especially those in New York, realize that these proceedings are making an international mockery of the New York State’s justice system? That any business of any large size will start the process, if they haven’t already begun, of divesting itself from being based in New York as the world now knows some random egomaniac that happens to get appointed as a judge can arbitrarily take over ownership of their business and give it to random strangers – most likely political cronies – and there’s nothing they can do to stop it?
