WASHINGTON DC – Democrats joined with Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) and his small group of conservative allies to vote to strip Kevin McCarthy of his gavel Tuesday. It’s unclear who would succeed McCarthy long term, though his allies expect he will try to run for speaker again.
Eight Republicans voted against McCarthy: Reps. Eli Crane (Ariz.), Ken Buck (Colo.), Andy Biggs (Ariz.), Matt Rosendale (Mont.), Matt Gaetz (Fla.), Bob Good (Va.), Nancy Mace (S.C.) and Tim Burchett (Tenn.).
Three House leaders have been floated as potential long-term replacements: Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.), Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) and Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.). If there was a mob of people on my street and one of them knocked out one of my windows to enable entry for another as I had doors and windows barricaded and locked I too would have shot that person to protect self, family and home. Ken Paxton’s recent impeachment fight opened my eyes. As an outsider looking in at Texas, it never occurred to me that it was 100% of the Democratic state house that had teamed up with a minority of Republicans to form a majority in the RED state of Texas. It now seems clear that that was McCarthy’s and the Uniparty’s modus operandi.
He sat on his hands about releasing the J6 videos. He dragged his feet about the Biden bribery scandal. An he cut an abhorrent budget deal with the Democrats that he feebly contested once installed as the speaker. McCarthy could / should have cut a deal with MAGA and turned over power at a time when his party and the country needed it but he instead chose to hold on to the Speakers Gavel due to personal ambition. He hung on for 9 months but that is all he is getting.
So Gaetz does the exact same thing. Teams up with all democrats to cut an abhorrent deal to vacate the speakership for the first time in history by winning over 7 or eight people in his own party. 202 voted against the democrat coalition. Good luck!

Gaetz has done a great service to his country and to mankind, and God Bless him for that.
