According to multiple DC media sources, a quiet effort is underway by members of the professionally republican mindset to kick Matt Gaetz out of the House Republican caucus. However, the advocates worry they will be primaried by voters in their district, as the population of Republican voters supports Gaetz. It is a duplicitous dynamic.
Meanwhile, Kevin McCarthy has told his Republican conference that despite prior statements, he will not attempt to become the House Speaker again and will instead retire to his home district in California.
No one is quite sure what comes next; what is clear is that Gaetz has channeled the frustration of the Republican/MAGA base into an actionable result. This should not come as a surprise to the GOPe, although many of the cloistered clan continue pretending not to understand the dynamic at play.
Allow me to provide some simple clarity.
♦ In 2009 72% of the country, and an even larger percentage of the Republican voters, did not want Obamacare. The govt takeover of healthcare was along purely ideological grounds. For the 2010 midterm election, the professional Republican apparatus campaigned on this single issue – repeal Obamacare. The voters destroyed the Democrats and flipped 67 seats to Republican control. The professional Republicans wanted the House, frustrated American voters gave it to them.
The Republicans did nothing.
♦ In 2012, the professional Republicans campaigned on retaining the House and asked to begin a process of taking down the Democrat control of the Senate. Remember, it was a 60/40 Senate when the Obamacare boondoggle was begun. Keep the House, help us take Senate seats, and we will repeal Obamacare and balance the budget. That was the call of the 2012 professional Republicans. The voters delivered. The GOPe kept the house, took 6 seats in the Senate and introduced a wave of fresh Republican blood.
The Republicans did nothing.
♦ In the 2014 midterm election, the professional Republicans campaigned on retaining the House and now flipping the Senate with more GOP seats. Keep the House, give us the Senate majority, and we will repeal Obamacare and deliver a balanced budget. The voters again delivered. Beginning in January 2015, the Republicans controlled the House and the Senate majorities for Obama’s last two years.
The Republicans did nothing.
Worse still, even with professional Republican control of both chambers of congress, President Obama never had to use his veto pen.
♦ In the 2016 election, after the professional Republicans could no longer stop/block candidate Donald Trump, they said if we get the White House, retain the House and retain the Senate, we will repeal Obamacare, return to regular budgetary order, and balance the budget. Stunningly, against all the odds, the voters yet again delivered. President Trump won the election; Republicans now held the White House, the House and the Senate – as requested.
The Republicans did nothing.
Worse still, the professional Republicans acted as if they were the dog that just caught the car. Now they had no excuses, and as a result there was an exodus of retirements announced from the caucus of the professionally Republican to begin in 2018.
Simultaneously, the professional Republicans passively allowed the targeting of Donald Trump by a fully weaponized intelligence apparatus and justice system to commence. To say the professionally Republican were willfully blind would be polite and generously honest.
In the background the RNC did nothing. The California ballot harvesting operation of 2018 reflected a complete lack of action by the RNC or CA GOP. We all well remember how that operation expanded nationwide in 2020, again with the RNC doing nothing.
This is the reality of what took place between the elections of 2010 and 2020. Every ask of the professionally rRpublican apparatus was delivered by voters. Every ask of the voters in return was ignored. Effective January 2021, Obamacare still exists, no budget was ever produced, the borders were unsecured, the economy tanked due to Biden policy, energy and printing presses. Crises, along with insufferable government mandates, amplified and expanded from coast to coast.
The Green New Deal was passed by Republicans and Democrats, and the collapse of the economy came with it.
Clear enough?
Suddenly, as if there was no background of repeated broken promises and a complete failure to deliver on any key request, Kevin McCarthy and his legion of professionally Republican supporters pretend they cannot fathom why the base voters are more than happy to support Matt Gaetz.

The California Republican informed his members behind closed doors Tuesday night that he will forsake another attempt to win the top job after his ouster on Tuesday, according to seven people familiar with the remarks.
His announcement comes amid intense anger over his ouster by Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) and seven other GOP members, who voted with House Democrats to eject him earlier Tuesday. Most Republicans vocally opposed his eviction.
McCarthy told his conference that he would return to California to spend time with his family. In his stead, the House will be run by Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.), his hand-picked choice as acting speaker. House Republicans have no plans to return to session until next week, scrapping their plans to try to pass party-line spending bills.
The vacancy atop the House is sure to set off a scramble among ambitious Republicans — one that’s likely to get dirty and dragged-out, particularly if McCarthy’s deputies try to ascend. The GOP agrees that the most obvious choices are Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.), House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) and Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), all of whom had publicly backed McCarthy until he bowed out.
“I might have been given a bad break, but I’m still the luckiest man alive,” McCarthy said, according to multiple people in the room when he revealed he would not, as he’d vowed, keep trying to stay speaker.

So the word on today’s Emergency Alert test from many insider sources over the past couple of days is they don’t believe there is any spyware or surveillance being dropped on people’s phones. Most of these folks indicated there ALREADY is surveillance some operating and some not yet activated on iPhones and most Android phones. But what they ARE QUESTIONING is “Why are we running an alert “test” on the same day Russia is running an alert “test”. That brings a whole new level of concern over nefarious intentions of our govt.
It’s note worthy that every year Russia notifies the US about its plans to carry out annual exercises of its nuclear forces. It did so last Oct 2022. But in 2023 Putin called for nationwide nuclear attack drill Yesterday 10/3 where “…the West as a nuclear aggressor. The one-day nuclear attack exercise, which has only ever been done region by region, will include preparation for the destruction of up to 70% of Russian housing stock and life support facilities. Sure the US and Russia since cold war have conducted media Emergency Alert tests… Remember that annoying siren and blurb that interrupted TV programming? But my question is “Isn’t it curious both US and Russia are testing same day?” and “What is our govt aware of in terms of an escalation threat that potentially could be playing out in the near future?”
People remembered where they where for Pearl Harbor, JFK, and 9/11.

I’m not so sure this was a victory for MAGA. The only winners I see are the Democrats. Gaetz and company actually voted WITH the Dems on this, to eject a Republican for being too friendly with the Dems. Oh, the irony.
Gaetz expected the Dems to jump on the McCarthy bandwagon and save him. McCarthy probably expected that as well. The Dems were quite content to let him twist in the wind. He lost. Gaetz and company lose, being vulnerable to “chaos” criticisms. Only winners are the Dems.
Oh no! Not criticism! We are well, well beyond caring about criticism.
The only thing I see good from this is that the RINOS and GOPe got to see that no, the Democrats are not going to give you a thing for always caving to them, being an “acceptable” Republican, being bipartisan, et al. You, the RINOs get the same treatment that MAGA gets.

Why did they vote against the previous bill on Sat. that would’ve put money to the border,etc? No this was personal grudge.

It’s all well and good to remember the past and the problems within the party’s various wings and subsets…however, I would be more sanguine if Gaetz and his few supporters had come forth with a plan for the future leadership before ousting McCarthy. Where are you going? Who is going to lead?
Excellent summary. Financially, I lost somewhere in the neighborhood of 60k on Obamacare garbage laws, tax penalties, and medical procedures that I paid for out of pocket.
I would like to remind readers of what Obamacare was. It was a bailout of health insurers after the loss of millions upon millions of American workers who lost jobs after the great banking fraud leading up to ’08 collapse. The healthy employees opted out of health insurance, leaving the insurers holding the bag for the unhealthy people who had to remain in.
After bailing out banks and bankers, Obamacare was devised to bailout insurance companies under the guise of healthcare access for everyone. Paid for by middle income saps like me.
The Uniparty stood idly by- because they knew what Obamacare truly was and why it must remain in place.
I lay the blame squarely at the door of the fraud committing banker universe and couple it with a complete breakdown of the rule of law. Obama and the Uniparty to include Justice Roberts did Americans a huge disservice.
So here we are. Once they knew we would roll over, they have taken even more chain. I’d like to believe Gaetz would start a brushfire in the minds of men but rather I believe it will be one small victory of little to no consequence. The Tree of Liberty is going to require a lot more.

This started with the rise of the TEA party which was resisted by the gop elite who saw this groundswell of the Republican conservative base as an annoyance to be first ignored and then undermined. Even today, the gop elite is more RINO than Republican – see the Mc group of three. McCarthy’s demise is symbolic of the rightful discontent of the gop base – and these gop elites who scream frustration are the problem. What amazes me is that only 10 or so elected republicans voted to throw McCarthy out. Does this mean the rest are RINOs who run conservative and govern as big spending liberals? Appears so.
I can still remember the charge or lead cheerleader of give us full control or we can’t do anything was none other than lead rino Paul ryan. I have a close friend who meet with Ryan in his office after he allowed barry care to live through. Obviously my friend a Dr and close to ryan was upset and told Ryan to his face “you just fu#£ed” us and the country”. FNC and FBN are brazenly clear in their attempts to assassinate the character and political standing of Rep. Gaetz and his seven colleagues who exacted a fair and ultimate price for former Speaker McCarthy’s broken commitments regarding the conduct of his role as Speaker.
On air, Levin called them “anarchists,” Hannity was also very critical and he allowed without rebuttal Gingrich to call them “traitors,” and Kudlow scalded them in his opening riff. I am confident that Ingraham was equally derisive of them, though I cannot tolerate her long enough to have watched her show, even for moments.
However, Newsmax has a completely opposite take on McCarthy’s demise. Higbie, Salcedo, Schmitt, Boling, Kelly, and Plante are unanimously supportive of McCarthy’s ouster and they fully explain the justification for the action. Noticeably, but not surprisingly, Van Susteren is not on that list because she runs from controversial issues, IMO.
I stopped watching all things Fox years ago, but I channel surfed to get their talking heads’ views about McCarthy. My latest sampling of the content provided by Fox and Newsmax strongly confirmed my choice of moving to Newsmax.

The truth is, Newsmax is bending over backwards to keep its “conservative news channel alternative” street cred vis-a-vis Fox news, but as a body they are just as appalled with the recent turn of events. It’s fine to huff and puff when going opinion is that such mouth-breathing will not alter the prevailing dynamic. Gaetz wasn’t supposed to have a formula that allowed him to unseat McCarthy, after all, most of the professional Republican class is compromised and supports the Managed Decline of the Empire. But to their horror, he found one – the existentially political nature of the Democrat marxist side of the equation, which relishes the infighting and destruction of the Republican side. Contrary to professional opinion, giving in to the Democrats on the CR bought no loyalty from the statists, who will always hold a level of contempt for those who pay lip service to the patrons of the much despised flyover country.
And now, you have the Republican class and Consertaive Media, Inc. reacting to Tea Party 2.0 and for a time dropping their masks. Watch who says what, while the shock is still fresh, and going forward, when the masks go back up, you’ll be able to keep the actors in this Kabuki presentation in perspective.
It’s a small victory but someone has finally been held accountable.
