This is good stuff. Brutally good stuff. I’m going to begin by repeating what I said last week.
I do not know if Matt Gaetz is the worthy Ty Cobb of Republican politics or not, but I do know he is currently one of the only people that is not pretending. That elevates him in my view. Oh sure, he’ll probably acquiesce to the pressures and sell out just like the rest of them, but right now – in his best form – Matt Gaetz has dropped the pretense, and that has sent the machinery of the DC Republican system into fits of apoplexy. Good.
I’m at the point of frustration with this nonsense where apoplexy, anger and visible ‘losing their sh*t’ makes me smile.
As CTH has outlined for well over a decade, the last federal budget that went through the appropriations process, passed both chambers and was signed by a president, was the fiscal year 2008 budget signed in September 2007 by George W Bush. Every single budget from that moment to today has been a series of continuing resolutions, omnibus spending packages (mini and regular) and baseline budgeted CR extensions. So, when Gaetz says it needs to stop, he’s holding the righteous high ground, and it doesn’t matter which congressional or media voice tries to say he’s wrong. He ain’t wrong.
Today, Gaetz said he’s willing to do whatever it takes, to see Kevin McCarthy taken down -OR- forcibly propped up by the Democrats in congress. Which, I might add, will highlight the exact nature of the UniParty construct with a clarity not before understood by the majority of Americans. Go for it, Matt… Make it happen. WATCH:
.
STAY STRONG MATT!
Gaetz was also on CNN giving Jake Tapper a case of the vapors. 😂🤣😂
.
True Americans have minimal representation in the US Government if any at all
Substitute “no” for “minimal” and you are right on target
When he starts talking about deficits and debt, he sounds like every republican in the last few decades.
I don’t think many Americans will be “educated “ on these matters, but if a lot did, they may just sit home and not vote.
He is pointing out that it’s a game of pretending and lying.
Failure to vote is not protest, it is a form of consent.
Or… one of surrender!
you’re either not american – or a bitter liberal american
what’s it like to not know what you’re talking about
he’s against debt and went to the toe to stop it.
the republican rhinos are the white hairs sold out.
lying about it – won’t make your words true
I understand what he’s saying, and I think everyone reading CTH does as well. But sometimes you have to break it down into simpler stories for the little people who don’t pay attention. Reagan could do this pretty well. And if you make the people chuckle as you educate/inform them, all the better.
Lincoln, according to biographical stuff I have read ,was an EXPERT at this sort of thing. He won case after case after case by bringing the jury into a simpler world explaining what had happened, probably why it had happened, AND WHAT SHOULD NOW HAPPEN. His stories engaged the audience, and told a simple truth. We need a few good story tellers with a few good stories.
Thus the old adage we have the medical and dental fields: ” Treat the adults like children and the children like adults”. Do this and their understanding and cooperation will follow.
Short stories ..unfortunately.
I pointed it out in another article, but the media’s discomfort as Gaetz blows up their games of pretending is a delight to watch. This is what it looks like when the games stop.
I will note that Gaetz’s seemingly sudden skill level-up is due in part to his daily podcast where he discusses these issues in detail, and takes phone calls and text questions from viewers. That’s how he developed his ability to tear apart the propagandist “journalists.”
I agree, his skill level at responding to propagandists is at a high level.
He has a great coach available… His dad.
It would be so much better if the anchor from ABC wasn’t so obviously biased against what Gaetz is doing, but rather would have asked legitimate questions, rather than questions that were obviously meant to bait Gaetz and put forward the ‘McCarthy/Dem’ agenda.
Tapper is starting to sound like Hannity. Never let the interviewee get a word in edgewise.
I’m guessing that is because Matt was scoring points and Tapper knows he can’t be allowed to do that.
It was clear to me, given both interviewers hit the same theme, that the propagandist narrative being pushed is that this is nothing more than Matt Gaetz pushing his vandetta against McCarthy. It was obvious that both interviewers were not there to ask questions to enlighten the viewers, but to provide opposition to Gaetz. Unfortunately for them, Matt is two steps ahead of them and also much sharper.
Matt has all the facts on his side, and he talks incisively and quickly enough to derail the Pravda media stenographers.
Never let them interrupt!
He has an agile mind which, until we see a change (for which we must always watch vigilantly), appears to be 100% MAGA as of now.
You know you are over the target when the flak gets the most intense. Go Gaetz!
Speaker McCarthy and the House RINO’s are setting themselves up to lose the majority in 2024 just in case Trump beats the cheat. Imagine a radical marxist like Jefferies as speaker with Newsom as president. Very scary times.
Democrats taking over Congress may be the cheat since another cheat in the presidential race would have to be huge. Let the presidential election play out, but make sure the Democrats control House and Senate – maybe pick up 2-3 Senate seats.
Trump comes into office with a mandate, but no Congress to implement it. Deep State rides it out for 4 years, then comes roaring back in 2028.
I never heard Jeffries speak before. Now that I have I see that he’s just as low-IQ as the rest of the CBC.
Given the chance, he, too, would pull the Fire Alarm and then say he thought he was going into the restroom
MTG sold out to Kevin a while ago. There’s just a handful of MAGA Republicans left.
Agree and find it very sad.
I think it’s past time for MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction). Everyone has dirt of everyone else in Washington and the chain reaction has started with Bob Menendez. C’mon Bob, since you’re going down, take some of your colleagues with you. It’s what they deserve.
Gaetz, it time to light the fuse. Let’s blow up Congress and the Cabinet and the Federal Courts.
Release the sex abuse slush fund info.

Sorry, Getz is a career politician; that stops me in my tracks form jumping on his every word as Gospel………campaigning is the number one ‘job’ of anyone elected more than once. Every last move or word they make is for re-election. Period.
He’s got grandiose dreams of the VP seat or POTUS ………..now tell me his game plan isn’t mapped out already. Politics is a business and a high paying business at that. Career Politicians become what ever the ‘polls’ tell them to be.
I want representation, never all the rhetoric to get elected………I think all campaigning should be limited to the people you represent……..no one from TN should campaign in PA, etc. That includes TV appearances; Getz should only appear in FL.
Sorry, FL elected him to represent them, I can’t change a thing he stands for, says or does.
POTUS should be the only campaign that is National; ergo anything he has to say should be National news……all the rest are just dog and pony shows .
Gaetz is from FL and the people of FL either believe him or not; I don’t, but then again I can never vote for him. And I see a career politician ready to scale the ranks. Kinda like the first time DeSantimonious went National……..and Jeb, etc.
You may or may not be right about Gaetz’s ambitions. I’m curious what politician you think is sincere and is actually taking action to advance the conservative cause. Even if you are correct and Gaetz has aspirations for higher office, he is one of the few actually taking action – and risky action at that – to change the way business is done in Washington. Tell me how what he is doing is a bad thing?
I’ll add that at the very least, he is articulating the budgeting – or lack thereof – problem better than any other pol in Washington. That is a good thing in my book.
The only definition of a career politician that matters to me is the source of his money.
Is he majority and preferably exclusively small-donor or does he feed at the trough of the RINO cabal?
Learning this answer takes time and research. I believe Gaetz has declared that he doesn’t do the trough-feeding – and if I were voting in FL I would be double-checking that.
Anyone who decides on a candidate without finding the answer to this key question is not doing due diligence, in my humble opinion.
He doesn’t take PAC money, and that’s an amazing thing.
You are not a good judge of character and are wrong on all counts.
Matt Gaetz, by stating the Truths, AND reinforcing them with the Facts, is doing a GREAT service to his fellow Americans, (ALL of them).
Your comment may have some value, should this Country EVER get back to having honest elections. In the meantime, Gaetz is proving to be what the Country needs now (a FIGHTER).
Bless him… do not detract from his Truths.
Matt is MAGA if there is any MAGA in the House! McCarthy is a lying traitor to the House, the American people, lied, broke his promises and is making frickin back room deals with demonrats and sending more of our tax dollars to the corrupt Ukraine and the lost war! Thats enough! I can stand McCarthy, never could, never will! And I was against him becoming speaker…even though Trump backed him. I reconciled that by thinking maybe Trump was trying to keep his enemies close…and thought he could leverage him. Maybe yyhat time has passed…or maybe Trump wanted him out there front and center for the people to see the uniparty, establishment RATS in action and how they do…backroom deals with each other while scamming…not just the American people, but even those in Congress that might be trying to do the right thing….but can’t because of….this type of deceit!
This is what we’re down to: One man standing against the machine speaking truth while others play games with words and changing positions with every argument.
Trump is also that single man against the machine. Each of these two single force men, I hope, will start a movement among such single force men. We will know if we get one more if this will happen. So far, I’m not seeing it but I REALLY want to. It takes THREE to start a trend.
The first is an anomaly. The second to join is the example. The third will show everyone else what they should be doing and that will start the movement to stand against the machine.
You forget Kari Lake.
And Ken Paxton.
“…Jake Tapper a case of the vapors.”: The media sees its job as to stomp this wildfire out.
Jake trapper is really dumb, or he is playing a silly game. It always matters if you win or if you lose, sometimes you learn more from a loss. Exposing McCarthy as a traitor to the party is a great example. Do We as conservatives want help or support from Leftists, NO! We need Americans to see what is going on, McCarthy is not the adult in the room, neither is Jeffreies, he is nothing more than an Affirmative action token, hand picked by Nasty Pelosi. We need congress to push for a budget. Obama, Trump, Biden are all guilty of this. Trump had better start talking about a budget in his speeches.
Hand-picked by Nantoinette Pelousy.
Hmm – who else is definitely a hand-pick by that crone?
Her nephew, perhaps?
Matt Gaetz is the man of the hour right now but just watch them take him down when he tries to replace Snake McCarthy the RINOS and the Communists will fall all over themselves jumping on Matt and they are talking of kicking him out of congress. Snake sold us out this past weekend he caved to his communist masters once again and he will be saved by them once again just shows you can not trust a RINO from California .They are slobbering all over the Snake but they have to do this all over again in a month why is that so wonderful shut the damned gov down if that is what it takes
Of course shut the gummint down for as long as possible.
This country has come to feel the same when Congress is in session as when the baby gets hold of a hammer. – Will Rogers
There is no reason for Matt Gaetz to even think about relying on Democrat votes to oust McCarthy. If he goes that route, it would be career suicide.
And this is coming from a Gaetz supporter.
I didn’t hear him suggest that.
I did hear him point out that MCarthy is relying on DementoRat votes.
https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2023/10/01/rep-matt-gaetz-reportedly-offering-democrats-subpoena-power-help-oust-mccarthy/
We need more Matt Gaetz’s in congress. He is one of the few that has any balls. Watching both of those interviews, it is plain to see the media’s talking points designed to sell a narrative: Matt Gaetz is only motivated by his personal vandetta against Kevin McCarthy. Unfortunately for them, Matt Gaetz is extremely effective – at least to those with at least two brain cells to rub together and think critically – at rebuffing the narrative, putting the focus back on his goal, and forcing McCarthy to defend his failure to stick to what he agreed to. While those with their minds made up will never be able to comprehend what is going on with the uniparty, I think Gaetz is incredibly persuasive in the defense of his positions which forces those who oppose him to resort to the politics of personal destruction rather than dealing head on with his agenda. While no leftist will ever awaken to the machinations of the deep state, it is encouraging to see people and even some politicians awakening and actually taking action to thwart the Marxist takeover of the US of A.
Can’t listen to Tapper for very long, makes the skin crawl.
Gaetz has had a superb, pretty honest, people’s representative in his corner giving Matt great advice … His dad.
Matt’s on fire. Going now to make a donation!
Nobody’s probably here anymore, but I finally got a chance to listen to the clips.
Cool that both Matt and Sundance thought what I did RE the utility of even a failed motion to vacate: Uniparty exposure.
Also: Hakeem Jeffries sounds like gay Elmer Fudd.
It’s the little things.
Carry on.
