One week ago, a poll of South Carolina voters showed that Ron DeSantis had dropped to fourth place with only 9% support, far behind President Trump at 46% {LINK}. Today a poll out of New Hampshire shows DeSantis dropping to fifth place with 10% support. {LINK} To give some scale to the collapse, this represents a drop of more than 75% of DeSantis’ original support since mid-January of this year. [From 43% to 10%]
The New Hampshire University Poll [SEE DATA HERE] also shows, while he doesn’t carry much support, the very specific demographics of DeSantis supporters are old, rich, white men who listen to Buck Sexton on the radio. This demographic pattern repeats in just about every poll; it’s quite remarkable. I will admit to finding it funny, when the predictions from a year ago show up with such clarity.
New Hampshire – Thirty-nine percent of likely primary voters’ support Trump, followed by entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy (13%), former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley (12%), former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie (11%), and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (10%). Six percent support South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, 2% support former Vice President Mike Pence, and 1% or less support North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum (1%), former Texas Congressman Will Hurd (1%), former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson (<1%), or talk show host Larry Elder (<1%). Less than 1% support another candidate while 6% are unsure whom they would support. (more)
Can imagine DeSantis’s team seeing the polling graph above…
“Oh god no, not again!”
“What?”
“He’s got Ron peaking over the graph border. It’s worse than the last one!”
“Curse that Sundance!
What are you chuckling about? Get back to work!”
Dropping behind Christie is beyond amusing. If you think of Sea Island billionaire financial support of DeSantis rather like playing on the stock exchange, it’s now time to sell your shares, lick your wounds, and take your losses.
NH like VT is gay. The candidates listed in the top are “gay” aka progressives/moderates/libertarians.
“DeSantis supporters are old, rich, white men who listen to Buck Sexton on the radio.” I was wondering who listens to the simply awful Sexton/Travis radio program. Now I know!
That’s so funny. Every time I hear them, both their voices remind me the ShamWow guy. God, I miss Rush…
You see what you want to see.
One way of looking at this is that PDJT is crushing his rivals, which is true, but that’s only half the story.
When I look at this, I also see something disturbing:
Trump at 39%, HaleyChristiePenceDeSantisScott (Team RINO) at 41% and Ramaswamy at 13%.
When the establishment candidates start dropping out, anybody stupid enough to support them will switch to one of their clones instead. They’re not going to suddenly wake up and support Trump if they’ve been backing some Uniparty hack all along.
What does this mean? It means that President Trump is really running neck and neck with the Uniparty, not 30 points ahead. What would that look like if the Uniparty vote wasn’t split 5 or 6 ways?
All it would take is some RNC pressure to force a couple of the RINOs to drop out, and it could be a much closer race.
Too close.
On the other hand, people on the ground who support the ankle-biters (I’m not talking about the cabal pushing the ankle-biters) are also blow-with-the-wind type voters.
Such voters are famous for jumping on the winning bandwagon when the time comes.
Your beliefs are not consistent with the historical record.
Go back to look at all the polls Sundance has posted, and you’ll notice that as DeSantis has collapsed, his supporters haven’t been gravitating towards other swamp members. i.e., as DeSantis has collapsed, Trump’s numbers increased 4 percent.
That’s why it’s important to base your opinions on what the evidence shows.

Sorry. Can’t imagine anybody supporting Haley, Christie, or Pence suddenly walking away from the RNC faves to support Trump in the primary.
Those people are too captured and blinded by the establishment propaganda.
Christie and Pence’s people would not go for Trump. Others, I’m not so sure.
“We’re Number Five! We’re Number Five!”
Ron DeSantis reminds me of a little boy with a big mouth. If this little boy wins, the Democrat Party will eat him up and spit him out, and completely take over because this job calls for a older man with lots of experiences and this little boy has no experience except for Florida. What about all the other states in the union. He will be so overwhelmed that he will be a disaster and all those things be promised on his advertisements will be gone. President Trump is the only person that must be our President to turn this country around. He had 4 years experience and he knows all the ins and outs of the Swamp and Deep State that want to destroy America. He will bring prosperity back to the people like he did in his 1st term and send the Illegals back to where they came from and destroy the Mexican Cartels who are killing our people by the thousands. Only then will America be FREE again! Vote for President Donald J. Trump in 2024. Also watch NEWSMAX, the only Conservative Network that will tell you the Truth, not the Democrat Media. (FAKE NEWS)
Everyone at 6% and lower needs to return to spending more time with their families.
What a YUGE waste of time, money and bandwidth.
The only problem with DeSanctus crashing in the polls is at some point he’ll be gone and we won’t get to laugh at DeSanctus crashing in the polls anymore. 🙁
But look who’s #2. I’ve been watching a ton of long-form interviews of Vivek with a wide variety of interviewers. He’s probably the most outwardly talented politician of my lifetime. Nobody’s beating Trump (hopefully), but people need to stop ignoring Vivek. He’s selling himself as the successor to Trump — a sort of “Trump without the Trump” — hitting all the notes DeSanctus was suppose to but couldn’t.
He’s essentially drafting behind Trump (car racing analogy) and will try to pull ahead of him in the homestretch.
The problem of course is nobody knows what Vivek really stands for. There’s only one thing that would make me trust him, but even he doesn’t have the balls to say it (although he did come close when he called out Asa Hutchinson for wearing a dual-flag pin on his lapel during the debate).
…who listen to Buck Sexton.
Just an aside here, but am I the only one who thinks that this “Clay and Buck” nonsense is worthless tripe, or are there people out there who actually believe it is the “Number 1 radio show”? These guys are not up to speed on what is going on, they do not prepare, one or the other is gone half the time (which is fine I guess, but to me that shows a lack of committment).
Aside from one very astute monologue by Clay when Buck was out, there is little to no discussion of conservative values, unless you count beating up on Bidens’ incompetence a conservative value. I see no insight, no inspirational discussions.
There is zero originality, very little initiative and no entertainment value whatsoever. Just my opinion of course, but you could almost conclude that they were put in here just to keep someone good and effective from being able to use that slot. Just my opinion, but I see not much value in these guys.
Below Christie? My recommendation, eat more donuts.
