I would remind the readers of this column that Volodomyr Zelensky has done something that no other politician on earth can claim: he has led the Ukrainian people to defeat Vladimir Putin’s armed forces in trial by combat. That is an incredible achievement! It’s important to acknowledge that he has gotten help, a lot of it, from European and American taxpayers. So what! The civilized world needs to give Ukraine even more money…….they must give until it hurts. They must give because Ukraine has been forced to sacrifice the lives of thousands of its people to defeat a far more powerful aggressor- a sacrifice far exceeding any financial threshold. Some small-minded people would argue that the U.S. should be spending its money to secure its own international border instead of sending millions to support Ukraine. Sure, we have a problem with illegals entering our country. But that is nowhere near the same scale as stopping an armed invasion coming from Russia. NOT EVEN CLOSE!
