Discussing retirement the other day with my auto mechanic and his wife walks in. Discussed moving to a smaller town, more affordable and nice people. She quickly opines that she could not live in that town. “Because I can’t handle all the Conservatives” and quickly adds “I don’t like where the Republican party is going”. I look puzzled and she exclaims “they’ve become so intrusive” My mouth hung open for a moment or two, the hypocrisy was gobsmacking and my mind quickly computed ‘lost cause’, I bid my mechanic a good day.
These people are everywhere, I run into them all the time. They are not afraid to give you their opinion. They take everything at face value and never seem to look below the surface of anything the Anthony Blinkens of the world say. Sometimes things seems hopeless.
I have a Mexican farmer’s market guy that I am quite fond of, a very good man and works way too hard. Anyway, today was the first time ever in my years of shopping at his stand we discussed anything political. Honestly I wasn’t sure he was a citizen until today. We started w/gas prices jumping over night and then he went on a tirade about Joey and how bad the democrats are, said he would not vote for him, just wasn’t going to do it. Finding out he is legal and that he will not vote democrat made my day.

Navalny was opposition to Putin, BUT and it is a huge BUT. Navalny didn’t have a very large following, mostly pro-Western groups in Russia and those are small. He was supported by British intelligence, US intelligence, and various western NGO’s. Anthony Blinken knows this very well and it is the height of dishonesty and hypocrisy.
I have my doubts about the story of his being poisoned. My own opinion is that British intelligence knew that he was going to be charged and tried and needed an excuse to get him out of the country. I think he went back because he couldn’t lead any opposition from Britain. He is still being used by the west – who knows what he was paid or how he was shuffled information by western intelligence to use to oppose Vladimir Putin.
To me, Navalny was another failed western attempt to get rid of Vladimir Putin because he is a strong leader, very knowledgeable about international affairs and international trade, and has surrounded himself with very smart and capable people like Elvira Nabiullina who runs Russia’s Central Bank.
