Apparently, someone on the BLM/Woke activism side of the narrative engineering grievance industry decided to call country music singer Jason Aldean a racist for his song “Try That in A Small Town”. [The song and video are at the end of the article.]
As the story is told, the song and subsequent music video upset the professional grievance industry who took exception to the contrast of small-town values juxtaposed against urban riots, violence and looting.
While it might sound odd, and as a consequence of the spotlight provided by Mr Aldean, intolerance to chaos, small-town values, peace, respect, kindness and neighbor helping neighbor is now declared by the grievance experts as an exhibition of profound racism. It all seems rather bizarre, because redefining social values is typically Marxist.
Making things even more odd, Country Music Television agreed with the grievance team and immediately pulled the Aldean video from the network. However, perhaps as an outcome of the interest created by this oddball controversy, viewers and listeners have driven the song and video to the top of the charts.
(Fox Business) – […] According to Luminate, which tracks streams and music sales, the audio and video streams from Aldean’s latest song went from 987,000 to 11.7 million, a 999% increase in the week following the release of the music video.
Luminate also confirmed to FOX Business that sales for “Try That In A Small Town” have spiked as well. The week before Aldean released the music video, it sold 1,000 tracks. Last week, the country music song sold 228,000 tracks, per Luminate.
Another major accomplishment for Aldean came in on Monday. “Try That In A Small Town” came in second on Billboard’s Hot 100 list. This marks the country music singer’s first number two spot on the chart. (read more)
I’ve watched this video below a few times, and I still don’t see what makes it controversial.
.
Mr Aldean released this statement in the face of the controversy.
We get back “a sense of normalcy” is putting the adults in charge, again.
There is no return to normalcy. Our world has drastically changed. If you want to return to the America you grew up in, you’ll have to join the patriots in taking our Republic back and then rebuilding.
And, that will only happen by ways other than voting. The days of fair elections are long gone.
Wait till you see what happens next summer.
Tell us!! Need to know!
Yes, I would love to know.
Today, I am feeling so overwhelmed by the msm democrat collusion
Stop watching. That’s their goal. I stopped long ago. Got rid of cable. I read the treehouse and peruse a few enemy sites to see what the other half is thinking daily. But at the end of every day, I make sure to think back on all the interactions I had with real humans out in public.
By doing this I realize that the msm and social media are soooooo far from reality it’s not even funny. It is when you start seein society begin acting like the msm claims they should, when you should worry.
But I always think about all the people I hold doors for, and who hold doors for me, and I try to be super polite to everyone. I like to believe I can send someone off in a good mood that may otherwise be having a bad day. And maybe, just maybe, I’ve saved someone somehow.
Because in those small moments, if someone is having an awful day, they just might stop and think, gee maybe the world isn’t full of scum like I was thinking. Just maybe…
Yep. We do not have television and get news here at treehouse and Wall Street Journal delivered to our mailbox. Although we live in Oregon, we are 150 miles from Portland and 16 miles from nearest town. Our neighbors are deer (twin fawns with spots with their mom and dad plus uncles and aunts)and bears and cougars. I read alarming things but don’t experience any of it personally. Rural Orgonians are mega MAGA. Mostly pickup trucks with gun racks kind of people who own massive tracts of forest land. I do have family members who are democrats but they live in Chicago and Arlington, VA. No scum in this neighborhood. Nobody pays any mind to the crazies.
I canceled my WSJ nearly ten years ago. They keep advocating for more immigration-have they changed their tune yet?
Charles, the WSJ seems to want to drain all the big brains from other countries into the USA. Third world idiots not so much.
They could use more local thinkers. Globalist supporters, election theft deniers, who do not support working class Americans or Main Street. Better than most papers but still not worthy of a paid subscription. Corporatists first.
Thank God there is another me.
I totally agree with this comment, Bshaw. I smile. I say, “thank you.” I tell everyone to have a great day, and I mean it. That’s a good ripple in a giant pond. And, it’s not that hard to do. Sending you a hug and a smile!
He LOVES his town, community, and Country. He respects elders, police and those who are wronged. That’s what the left hates and real American’s and patriots stand for. We LOVE this Country and all they know is HATE. All we know is truth, justice and love of America. We will WIN
It is written….”love thy neighbor as thy self”.
Which means being ready to defend your neighbor and his family as you defend yourself and your own family, such as the people of Snoqualmie, Washington did during the “mostly peaceful” BLM/Antifa demonstrations. (see my post of July 24 10:08 pm)
You seem to have missed it that he loves is God and his children. His song is a silent protest against the Marxists and what they’re doing here in TN to the children…
Why SD doesn’t see how that’s all controversial is beyond me lol. It shouldn’t be, I know. But those who pay attention understand why it is.
This video has brought tears multiple times. For me it bridges the tension of the upside down culture we are subjected to, and the COLD ANGER that we have to hold and bear.
Our goal needs to be how we act out in the real world. As I posted on another comment chain. At the end of every day, I think back on all my real life interactions with others. And all day I try to hold doors and be super positive with others.
Don’t let them win. Don’t let them nor anyone make you believe this country is lost. It’s so far from that. It’s when WE start caving to the anger and hate that they have officially won. Because we will spew hate into the stratosphere and therefore become spreader jd this.
Thank You. You are right, even if I struggle to live up to your words.
What makes it controversial are the clips of mostly peaceful riots. Peaceful riots, peaceful rioters.
/s
And knowing the shameful way J6 patriots are treated makes my blood boil.
Yes, the mostly peaceful riots that out wonderful MSM lied to us about.
Yeah—-the first amendment, the right of peaceful protest and the right of assembly!
A second culture will emerge.
A second culture must emerge.
The rich in America have recognized their margin for error, and have embraced Wokism.
It all pivots on the middle class now. Surrender or fight .
The Left dislikes the truth, and anyone who opposes their viewpoints. They are all variations of Stalin.
I heard today, from a very reliable source, that Larry Fink, CEO of Blackrock has been “red pilled.” Let us see in the coming days if this is in fact true
Highly doubt that.
Are you sure it wasn’t a satire site?
Sure would be great if true. We need some “woke” people to actually wake up!
The cultural Marxists and “ grievance engineers” have gone too far?
It may not seem like it at times, but the massive support for stellar individuals like Aldean and the continued support of President Trump tells me a different story.
Cheers!
✝️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👻
Trump should ask him to perform at a rally.
With the video playing on jumbo screens
That would be an impeachable offence if he were still in office. 😉
Something else for Jack Smith to make his case.
He doesn’t have to be in office to impeach him! The left impeached him the second time after he left office!
Well said by Jason Aldean. Pop culture controls the minds of many and this is propaganda whether it’s meant to be or not. It is good propaganda for our side. The communist fears this. The communist fears the moment the founding stock of this country says enough.
As far as the race issue goes. Everyone knows the large majority of looters and everyday criminals are blacks. Not the antifa communists but most others. They have been using cries of racism to keep us paralyzed for too long. Their spell is wearing off. It may seem odd, but things like this bring people together. It is good for us that they fight this.
Reminds me of song; Rockytop, TN.
One of my favorite patriotic anthems to listen to when I get really down is Bocephus’ Al*pha ma*le rendition of
‘A Country Boy Can Survive.’
Did you know it has about 15 verses, each one more poignant than the last? [Can anyone add the song and lyrics for Treepers who may not be familiar with them? Sorry, I can’t.]
Jason’s contribution–song and video–are so timely. Yes, I
hope he will appear at the opening of some of President Trump’s upcoming events–night of the infamous debate,
perchance?
Continuing thanks to Sundance for all he does to keep his base knowledgeable and fortified. And thanks as well to the many Treepers whose informed comments add clarity and much-welcome humor to very blue days.
I am so grateful this site found me in 2016.
God Bless America!

Well, my goodness!! That was wonderful! Thank you!
Loved it! Thanks.
God Bless YOU!!
….Or this one that really defines what’s happening n Nashville…also, I understand CMT is HQ’d in midtown Manhattan…
It Damn Sure Ain’t Merle

We got this.
In New Zealand, boycott Countdown Supermarkets who want to put farmers out of business.
https://rumble.com/v31qrfe-new-zealand-loyal-supports-countdown-boycott.html
Good good. Something missing from all this anti-cattle propaganda is acknowledgment of the composting vale of cow dung which they produce so generously.
I have been trying to grow some summer vegetables in raised beds in my sunny backyard, but the poverty of the soil is frustrating. My father’s vegetable beds produced generously, but they grew in a garden that had been fertilized since a hundred years by great-grandma’s cows and chickens.
Visited a farm in Virginia last week where Joel Salatin has movable chicken pens rotating daily over fields recently grazed by cattle. The chickens like to eat the fly maggots and other bugs, so they don’t have a fly problem, and the chickens are healthy because they move out of their fresh dung, every day.
I admire farmers and I wish my gardens would flourish like my parents’ gardens always did. I need better dirt. The stuff I bought at the hardware doesn’t compare
Check out “Small Farm Republic” by John Klar, forward written by Joel Salatin.
Does the hatred of cattle stem from something more than flatulence?
24 And God said: Let the earth bring forth the living creature in its kind, cattle…
Great song and video
BONE EM!! Been saying for a few years “Bring that pantifa blm BS out to the rural areas” on their last day.
Cheryl Crow ,
might lay off of the
“beer buzz early in the mornin”
But all she wants to do is have some fun before the sun comes up over Santa Monica Boulevard.
-Sheryl Crow
p.s. how could that song have been released nearly 30 years ago in 1994? Wow…
Time flies
when you’re havin “fun”!🥳
Crow should layoff wiping her keister with one sheet of toilet paper to “save the planet”. 🦨
Believe me, “beer” is just a metaphor.
I can’t help but feel as though this is nothing more than manufactured outrage… creating controversy is what sells in today’s world of Created Crisis and Cancel Culture.
If I say riots, and you immediately think of black people, YOU are a racist, not me.
That is my one-line elevator speech for this controversy.
If I say riots and you immediately think of black people, you are a realist, not a racist.
You’re both right!
When a section of our population 13% is responsible for over 64% of all crimes we don’t have a race problem we have a problem race.
so good to see your name miss you and your input
A lot of BLM were rich white basement dwellers.
Just saying.
Yeah, coattailing on black victimhood
Nashville is filled with pure garbage that’s called “Country Music” and people wonder why Jason and his truthful music soar?
Country music and NASCAR were the last two things Americans truly loved and they’ve been infected with Diversity and inclusion BS and to big to fail money with stipulations attached and have been burnt down completely.
Nashville’s been Austinized bad. Stay away
Replying to Sanjac and fragemall,
Mrs. was in Nashville 4 weeks ago and she sent me pictures of Trump t shirts and other memorabilia. It was not a one-off store but apparently President Trump is big business in Nashville.
My takeaway was that it seems that Nashville is Trump country.
After reading both of your comments I am now confused 😕.
Those who run Nashville and the failed music industry there.
That’s too bad. I lived and played music in Austin for 25 years. 80’s and 90’s.
It was a very cool music scene. Great food. Great people.
Then it changed. We’ve been gone 16 years. Hidden out in the beautiful Ozarks.
Oh yeah, big time. It’s a NYC/SF/LA brand extreme progressive destination city for recreation but even more so to move and live to. They don’t have enough money to live where they grew up in the progressive city burbs so they have g9ne to Nashville to repeat the cycle so they can get in now but then their kids won’t be able to afford Nashville, etc and the cycle repeats. Meanwhile Nashville will literally look like Denver in about 8-10 years from now if not sooner.
The “noose” in the garage was the kiss of death for NASCAR. Such BS.
Lot of people left Noosecar after that. Me included….
It won’t be long and NASCAR will be putting cardboard figures in the empty stands like the NFL
Hank Williams Jr.
Country Folk Can Survive:
“That ain’t no Hank Williams song!”
(Blues Brothers)
No, but Bocephus does a damned fine job of it. Hank Jr is a helluva a man!
148 million views agree with you!
Thank you. I had forgotten that song!
SD, “I’ve watched this video below a few times, and I still don’t see what makes it controversial.”
I guess for the same reasons that our Constitution is controversial to these same people.
Anything approaching traditional Americana, or remotely connected to our Creator is anathema to what they want to build.
To build what they want in their image, they first must destroy what was and is.
“Build Back Better”-
As in after something is destroyed.
They have been telegraphing these messages for a long time.
One only need realize the truth, as it is.
That why everything Americana from sports to the music industry has been completely ruined over decades.
And, the movies suck — absolutely no creativity left there!!
Sound of Freedom is worth seeing!
They just keep chipping away — so we must chip away at them!
I m elderly myself (66) and I’ve worried over the emphasis placed on Donald Trump as a miracle worker.
The establishment is so invested in just waiting him out .
We need a young follower to take up the banner. How about Kari Lake? I’m in.
Kari would make a great VP, however
there is still work to be done in Arizona.
I am a big fan of Kari Lake, but in my lifetime only one president has not deviated from what he said he was going to do. I am staying with The Donald.
So am I!
So true. 2024 will be Trump’s last hurrah if he somehow outfoxes the deep state and wins, which would be a miracle like 2016.
Unfortunately, the Republican bullpen is not full of up and coming young stars who have not come up through the ranks of the swamp.
My problem with Kari Lake us that she has not one shred of executive experience.
She ran a great campaign. Additionally, unlike many candidates she gave clear and specific plans about what she would do as governor.
She took on the election cheats and is still fighting.
She is spearheading election integrity in AZ and traveling to other states to spread the word..
If President Trump makes her his VP, she will be ready in 2028.
Moses was 80 when he led his people out of bondage. Maybe history can repeat itself and the swamp crittrs chase Trump to Okefenokee, the alligators part to let him through, only to swallow up the critters.
I love that about Moses being 80. People tend to forget that Our President Trump has never smoked and has never drunk alcohol. His body is strong and he gets his vitamin D from the sun when he plays golf. He’s healthy in mind, body and spirit. Pray he stays that way!
President Trump will win!!!!
I’m 66 and I don’t consider myself elderly at all! Elderly is 80 or something.
My bones are strong, my mind functions well, and I’m a cancer survivor. I live my life as tho there’s no end in sight.
So does President Trump.
Live your best life, you have a lot of living left to do.
Be a good example for the young’uns coming up behind. 🙂
Big towns have rap. Small towns have country. Some people in big towns listen to country. Some people in small towns listen to rap.
I realize this is very hard to understand, but I am sure some highly respected academics will get a federal grant to do a study.
FYI you misspelled “rap”. The correct spelling has a silent ‘c’ at the beginning.
🤣
Did you know music is like candy? Before you can enjoy them, you first have to discard the wrappers (rappers)… No? Okay, I’m going 😉
I saw a post,
It was They tried it in a big town, with a pic of Ashley Babbit..
I do not think using Ashli’s picture was in any format a kind, respectful way to treat someone. She was unjustly, violently killed. Good grief, think about it.
The faster they try to turn the gears, the more the sand grinds them down.
On this issue, the only thing I want more than this song to hit #1, is for CMT to tank, bigly. I hope they get Dylan Mulvaneyed good and hard.
The infiltration is in gear ,not antifa type violence . Groups to intimidate and lower living standards is what I see in NW Fl.
Bud Lite em…
“Dylan Mulvaneyed” … that’s fabulous!
I suspect small towns will be ‘tried’ in response to this song.
Seem to remember a small town that was “tried” outside of Seattle or Portland. It did not go well for those trying.
They aimed for Coeur d’Alene just up the road from me.
Piled out of their buses, saw all the citizens lining the streets with AR15s, got right back on the buses and turned tail.
Love it.
then they sent in the fbi and that goofy bunch of idiots in a U Haul van.
We kicked BLM out of Huntington Beach.
Snoqualmie, WA (see my post of July 24 10:08 pm).
Another in California, they turned tail and ran
Nip it, Nip it, Got to nip it in the bud – said in my best Barney Fife voice
Bring it on.
One already has. Hampton, Georgia. Caught him in less than a week. He opened fire on the street and killed 4 people—about 3 weeks ago.
Raceway?
No. Not at racetrack.
Hampton is where the airport is. Not exactly a small town. It’s part of Atlanta metro.
I live in a suburb of Philly. BLM came to our town. The local police gave them an “escort” for their protest march. Dozens of very armed men protected the gun store. Armed citizens stood beside police to protect other businesses. Homeowners stood on their lawns with guns to protect their homes. Some people yelled at them to go home. It was 100% peaceful! They cancelled their next march and never returned. Police thanked the armed citizens for their help. I was so proud of my community!!
I just love this kind of stories! Thank you for posting!
Haven’t heard the song as I don’t listen to music much (except my oldies) but I did cruise the sites of the usual suspects when it comes to screaming “YOU CAN”T SAY THAT!!” (NPR, Variety, Wash Post etc) and they’re all crying and looking for their safe space.
Good job Aldean.
Anybody that pisses on the leftists is doing something right.
Here in rural Tennessee, folks fully understand what Aldean is singing about…trans/drag queens, Nashville Marxists foisting their politics onto country music. Tenneseans are church going folks, rabidly patriotic and hard working people. They are totally affronted with the Marxists and what they’re doing to the State. They have imported activists from NY and California and are actively slamming our Gov, AG and Speaker of the House. The rural folks are fed up – the Marxists crossed the line with the gender bending curriculum and abortion/reproductive rights crap. The lyrics of “not in our small town” ring true for these rural folk. Those Marxists may not want to venture off into the rural parts of Tennessee attempting to import their filth “they may not make it very far down the road”. I guess you have to live here to understand how CMT (Country Music TV) cancelled EVERYTHING Jason Aldean, a home town boy. CMT is the modern day equivalent to the Grand Ole Opry. These are institutions in Tennessee. So banning Aldean from concerts, TV appearances, country music scene in Nashville is a BIG deal. BTW – other than Nashville, Memphis and Knoxville EVERYTHING in between is rural country.
And Bristol TN is the birthplace of country music…NOT Nashville!
Nashville is the home of the Grand Ole Opry. That’s the the recognized center of country music. Bristol TN was not the birthplace of country music. Country music evolved out of hillbilly music which was not in one specifc location.
Tennessee must be doing something right; whenever Senator Marsha Blackburn posts on Facebook, a swarm of idiotic Lefty bots attack her and her followers with outrageous lies and vituperative personal insults.
Where is Jason Aldean From? If POTUS goes whereever that is for
a rally he should invite him to sing it at a rally.. or he should
play it on the big screen at one of his rallies.
I looked him up and he is from Macon, GA. His parents split up when he was three. He spent summers with his dad in Homestead, FL.
Jason has lived in Tennessee since his young adulthood.
If these people have problem with Jason Aldean, How would they take David Allen Cole?
that’s Coe not Cole. my bad.
Nashville didn’t like David Allen Coe. He’s still making music in his 80’s…
His nothing sacred album is a doozy.
“I’ve watched this video below a few times, and I still don’t see what makes it controversial.”
That’s probably because you are not mad.
And also not crazy
You mean bat shite crazy…
“Country Music Television agreed with the grievance team and immediately pulled the Aldean video from the network.”
CMT needs to be Bud Lighted.
Profiles in CourageOr Dylan Mulvaneyed.
You can’t. The Country Music TV is OTA and receives grants. Think of it as country public TV
Poor BLM/Antifa, there is no statue of Jason Aldean to knock down.
Not yet. We’re in need of more leaders though so there’s an opportunity for him to earn a statue.
“I’ve watched this video below a few times, and I still don’t see what makes it controversial.”
Loving virtue, America, and Western Civilization have become the most offensive thought crimes in history, citizen.
You will be made to
bake the cakeself-annihilate.“But the desire for it to” (return to normalcy) is what the song is about.
And the pushback is from those who want “fundamental transformation.”
24 Another parable he proposed to them, saying: The kingdom of heaven is likened to a man that sowed good seeds in his field 25 But while men were asleep, his enemy came and oversowed cockle among the wheat and went his way.
The cockle sower’s chef done drowned in a pond today.
Funny,
The same people who said “It’s just a beer can” are crying really hard over a song.
Jason Aldean has thrown down the gauntlet, he has drawn a line in the sand and the left can’t stand it, because they have had their way with America and all we hold dear for too long!
To the woke victim class mob, anything can be racist. Too bad so few will call them out on it.
Thanks, SD! That’s exactly how the small towns I’ve lived in were. Especially the tiny one on the Montana/Canadian border. It was a nice place. We had a saying in a larger small town, “White trash comes in all colors.”
The grievance crowd has still not learned what is this thing called Streisand Effect. Guess it’s an engineering term beyond their ken.
I live in the small town where this video was filmed. I retired early just so I could move here, to spend the rest of my life investing in its families and community. On the first Friday of each month we gather in that town square, where the stores stay open late. The sidewalks are open to vendors of handmade and homemade items and goods. People of every race and ethnicity are there in number; groups of pre-teen children walk around safely without their parents having to be nearby, the air is filled with sounds of friendship and joy.
Several months after moving here, I was walking into a Mexican restaurant when I saw a slightly familiar face. He pops up out of his booth, greets me by name, and introduces me to his family. It was my local banker. (And believe me–I’m no whale depositor!) That’s this small town.
We also have our homeless. But friends who have businesses in the old downtown know our homeless by name, and check on them regularly and look out for them.
This town is everything Aldean’s song talks about.
And now I wonder how soon before our beautiful, peaceful town square becomes a target for the professional rioters sent to test us… sent to create agitprop… sent to create a televised diversion from the real threats to democracy and individual freedom.
We will have to be smart when we take our stand. Prayer will need to be our primary weapon, as the humans we will encounter are only brainwashed pawns. I invite you to stand with us in prayer, when this battle we’re all in comes to our town.
Sounds like a great place to live.
I was there a couple of years ago to visit Polk’s Home. I had to go check out the courthouse because it stood out from a distance. What a lovely place. We spent the afternoon there and tried the sweet corn and blackberry jam ice cream. Hope to return for Mule Day some time. Same thought crossed my mind-what a nice place it’d be to retire to.
I lived in a town just like that, and would’ve stayed til my dying day if my parents hadn’t needed me. Even in what passes for a ‘small town’ here in Northern CO, I feel the continuous bombardment of leftist messaging everywhere I look, and miss that feeling of community. Unfortunately, my former home became a “resort” community thanks to a casino deal with local Native tribe recently. It’s true, you can’t go home again. So I just do all I can to try to restore some values to the home I’m in now, and pray a lot. (The previous comment made me terribly homesick for a moment)
Unless people wake up and are willing to wage economic warfare against the leftist controlled corporations they will cancel all the good and decent values that built this country and everyone who stands up for them.
They will cancel the “individual” — that which makes people creative and wise and unique. All of us in “commie” uniforms with the same standard haircuts, marching in sync. We will own nothing and be happy (does that mean lobotomized?) Yes, let’s fight the “big guys” with our individual American greatness!! God bless you, EZGoer.
The Left is evil. They are the enemy of the good, the beautiful and the true. They hate anyone who stands for the good, the beautiful and the true. The good news is, as you can see by the song’s popularity and the success of the boycotts, that those who love the good, the beautiful and the true far outnumber the evil ones. No matter how hard they try, they cannot cover up that fact.
When the “mostly peaceful BLM and Antifa demonstrators” were “mostly peacefully” demonstrating in Seattle, some of the demonstrators decided to travel to the small town of Snoqualmie a few miles out of Seattle to demonstrate. Well, some residents of that small town got wind of these plans through social media, and when the “mostly peaceful” demonstrators showed up they quickly left when they saw over a thousand small town residents legally openly carrying lawfully possessed fireams.
I love the American way!!
I expect America’s patriots are going to fall on these left-wing anarchists like a ton of bricks.
We are fed up with them destroying our country. They are nothing but violent, criminal trash.
Interesting point “gnome1949″.
” I expect American’s patriots are going to fall on these left-wing anarchists like a ton of bricks”.
We have already done that to Bud Lite, Disney and much of Hollywood just with our passive boycotts.
We The People are ust beginning to find our feet in this new game of politics and are going to be fighting back hard now, in so many ways.
Some corporations are already beginning to fear us, as they should if they have half a brain.
The DEI executives and their team members are being fired and it is no longer the up and coming niche in the American workplace.
Corporations and their CEOs have finally noticed that the DEI ideology is the kiss of death for their product.
I this video shows everything they have done to destroy America and they don’t want anyone talking about how we don’t and will not put up with it.
More signs of how scared they are.
Don’t stop praying!!
Marxists suck. I’m not even a country fan but I respect this song. NOTHING controversial about it AT ALL.
Who called it racist? I want a poll done of average black people. I bet it’s not them calling it racist, it’s the race-hustlers and their puppet masters. But, as Dave Chappelle said, “noticing” that is called racist, so don’t.
One of the Useful Idiot talking points against this vid, is that it was done in front of. Tennessee courthouse that hosted a 1933 lynching. Details unknown to me. The other people continue to grasp at just about anything.
A key and often repeated phrase in the lyrlics, is “I recommend that you don’t”. So much for the singer reccomending strife between them and us.
You know what ticks me of the most…they are primarily complaining and pointing out the courthouse.
The courthouse in the video is where he happens to live and has lived for quite a while now.
On top of that there was a movie and some other videos that used that courthouse as a backdrop where no one said a thing.
Jason Aldean sings a wonderful peaceful protest song.
Kudos to him!
The difference in small towns is pretty easy to understand. No matter where you go in the town, you cannot escape what is happening, good or bad, so you either enjoy it, fix it or move away. A town that is large enough that you can move away from what is happening and still live in town is not a small town.
That is why small towns are what they are. Since you can’t escape, you keep it livable.
I once visited a small town in Indiana that was a short drive from Indianapolis. One part of town was a vibrant minority community that looked exactly like the rest of town except for the inhabitants. I remarked that it looked like small towns in the south and was told a story. On occasion, people from the big city areas would move into the minority areas. The leaders in the community would make a visit and tell them that they would have to be upstanding members of the town and lawlessness would not be tolerated. They were told to not worry about the police. The residents would handle any problems long before cops got involved. “We are a respected part of this community and we will stay that way.” Most moved on, but the ones that stayed understood the requirements.
I live in a small town in Kentucky of about 15,000. I was raised in a smaller one, a single four-way stop town with about 400 residents when everyone was at home.
The vids up to nearly 18 million views now, and the YT comments to it are fantastic!
I don’t generally listen to country music, but I heard him singing a song together with another fellow, song was titled something like “The Only Way I Know.” I actually liked that song. It’s the only reason I know the name Aldean. So when I saw this controversy, and saw a clip of the video, and heard a bit of the song, it’s an okay song, but I bought it, for one damned reason: The left hates it. They’ve poked this bear often enough that every time he gets a chance, he pokes back, okay?
