For those of us who have been trying to awaken people to the true nature of Republicans in the senate, aka “the Decepticons”, the latest self-admissions are very welcome.
According to interviews conducted by The Hill, several Republican senators are now saying they just cannot be members of the Republican Party if they are forced to represent the interests of the base voter. These very specifically named Republicans have always been members of the UniParty in DC; however, now they are saying “populism” amid the commonsense, America First voting base is not going to be acceptable.
The senators are openly warning that if putting American interests first is going to be demanded by the voters, these Republicans will just become Democrats. There is no reason for Americans to distrust the institutions the Republican senators support, and there will be no compromise or discussion.
What is making these Republican senators angrier is that who they consider to be intellectual and professional people are also demanding a more populist approach toward a government that represents the people. This is just not going to be allowed according to Lisa Murkowski, John Thune, John Cornyn and the other names outlined.

I’m having more ‘rational Republicans’ coming up to me and saying, ‘I just don’t know how long I can stay in this party,’” said Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska). “Now our party is becoming known as a group of kind of extremist, populist over-the-top [people] where no one is taking us seriously anymore.
“You have people who felt some allegiance to the party that are now really questioning, ‘Why am I [in the party?]” she added. “I think it’s going to get even more interesting as we move closer to the elections and we start going through some of these primary debates.
[…] “There are an astonishing number of people in my state who believe the election was stolen,” said one Republican senator who requested anonymity to talk about the growing popularity of conservative conspiracy theories at home.

It’s amazing to me the number of people, the kind of people who think the election was stolen,” the lawmaker said. “I don’t want to use this word but it’s not just a ‘red-neck’ thing. It’s people in business, the president of a bank, a doctor.”
[…] Senate Republican Whip John Thune (S.D.) pushed back on calls to defund the Justice Department, telling reporters: “Are we going to get rid of the Justice Department? No. I think defunding is a really bad idea.”
Thune later explained to The Hill: “There are seasons, swings back and forth in politics and we’re in one now where the dominant political thinking is more populist with respect to national security, foreign policy, some domestic issues.”
But he said “that stuff comes and goes and it’s built around personalities,” alluding to the broadly held view that Trump’s election to the presidency in 2016 and his lasting influence over the party has put his brand of populism at the forefront.

Sen. Todd Young (R-Ind.) warned, “I fear that snap impeachments will become the norm, and they mustn’t.”

If they say the election was secure, and valid PROVE it.

I recently took part in a 3 day thing like a Zoom call, for a place I do occasional surveys for.
We were given questions about recent ways to have elections, or ways we thought would be good to have elections.
They talked a lot about the way they had the mid term election in ALASKA, where it took DAYS or WEEKS to determine the winner. (I forget what it was called) But I could tell the people doing it was DEMOCRATS, and I got the feeling they were going to try and get a LOT MORE STATES to do this for the next election. I think it was one or two other states that did this last election. It’s definitely NOT the person with the most votes that win if I understand it correctly.
They also talked a lot about the runner up candidate being on the ticket or something like that.. In otherwords they may be trying to change the whole voting system.
Pretty sure you’re talking about ranked choice voting… and I think anyone who supports it has an IQ below 70, or is a traitor!

They have had it in Calif. for some time, and it just makes it easier for them to control outcomes.
And, it is State R parties, pretending to be weak and ineffectual, allowing it to be enacted.
As I understand it, it helps them take out MAGA candidates without actually “cheating,” though IMHO, ranked choice voting is pretty damn close to out and out cheating.
The system, ranked choice voting, pretends to do one thing and does several others. The stated rationale is to get rid of that old two-party primary and general election model, and let the people choose the leader that most of them want.
That’s now how it works, and it is so easily manipulated as to be a shoo-in mechanism to put demo-socialists, hip to the system and how to rig it, into office.
Simply put, everybody runs, no primaries. Then the top ranked candidates run against each other at least once, with obscure rules about subsequent winnowing-out elections in which several negative effects are possible: One, a weak candidate runs against a field that they load, splitting the vote between a stronger candidate and a batch of others. There is not chance for the stronger candidate, out of a field of thirteen or so, to pick up the votes or support of those who would ordinrily be defeated in a primary – some of them, along with the propped-up opposition, remain on the ballot for another round.. In the final, candidate with the most votes wins – and that number doesn’t have to be even close to a majority.
In other words, if Murakowski ran 1:1 against Palin, she’d have likely lost – because the above describes roughly what was done in Alaska when Murakowski supposedly won and Palin was swamped by enough false opposition to lose.
