If you ever wanted to know how influential billionaire donors and the professional grift is amid the pro-life movement, this is a case study in the insanity of it.
President Donald John Trump was the most pro-life President in U.S. history. President Trump outlined the platform policy of returning the issue of abortion to the states, and constructed all political endeavors to deliver on that pledge. President Trump was the first president to speak at the March for Life events in Washington DC and hold pro-life supporting events at the White House.
Additionally, President Trump appointed three conservative pro-life judges to the Supreme Court, with the intention of overturning the Roe -v- Wade decision and returning the issue of abortion to the states. This was and is the conservative position, and the goal of the pro-life movement as it was articulated. In 2022, in the Dobbs decision, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of overturning Roe -v- Wade and the abortion issue was successfully return to the states as promised.
Since entering politics, the position of candidate Trump and then President Trump has never changed. It is the same federalist position he holds today as outlined by the Washington Post:

However, Lila Rose, President and Founder of the Live Action network, is now deriding President Trump because he does not support reinstituting federal control over the issue of abortion and campaigning on a non-federalist platform of a nationwide abortion ban.
Apparently, Lila Rose is supporting Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who recently used the Supreme Court decision, ironically made possible by President Donald Trump, to construct a 6-week abortion ban law in Florida. Oddly enough, a legislative outcome Ron DeSantis is also not promoting as part of his “book tour” and national stealth campaign.
Ms. Rose, in her official capacity as president of the Live Action organization appears to be influenced by the same billionaire donor class funding that supports the candidacy of Ron DeSantis. Despite President Trump delivering the results of the pro-life movement, Mrs. Rose is now deriding the President who delivered the outcome of her advocacy, saying it -and he- was just not good enough.
Example – In January 2018, President Donald Trump spoke to pro-life supporters from the Rose Garden at the White House which was shown live on video at the 45h annual March for Life. President Trump’s speech marked the first time in the event’s history that a sitting president had addressed the crowd live via video feed. Previous Republican presidents, including Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush, spoke to the marchers by phone.

Try to find a picture of Ron DeSantis attending the Washington DC March for Life event and you will not find one. He never attended. However, in the era of billionaire manipulation, fake political constructs to manufacture astroturf support, and political grift that flows as an outcome of the ‘trillions at stake’, even the pro-life movement will align in their financial best interests against the most pro-life president in U.S. history.

Florida is my home. I have spoken with a number of women lately about the 6 week abortion ban Gov. RdS initiated. Most of the women are very concerned he went too far and this will cost him any election. He left nothing on the table for women who become pregnant from rape or incest. Most women do not even know they are pregnant at 6 weeks. He made a choice for women and it’s inconsistent with what the majority want. It appears the 15 week ban on abortion is acceptable. The women I spoke with would never have an abortion, but feel every woman has her choice to make. It’s between her and God. I assume you can leave Florida and go to GA, AL OR MS and still get an abortion over 6 weeks. I stand with President Trump on this issue.
Seems like most women miss a cycle before 6 weeks. If raped perhaps they can get a pregnancy test before the 6 weeks. If sleeping around and abortion is one of your methods of birth control perhaps take regular pregnancy tests- perhaps every month. 6 weeks bans have saved 10’s of thousands of lives. Its a start. Maybe pro life supporters should run commercials on the democrats support of late term abortions-with pictures and dems celebrationg shout their abortions, 13 year olds that passed fully formed babies into the toilet from mail order poison, how planned parenthood has gotten into some schools, the depression rates among women. How 70% of women are pressured into killing their kids- perhaps tied to future depression. Just thoughts.

If our country had not strayed so far from God and good morals, this would not be the crisis it has become. We have gone so far down the rabbit hole of free sex, no personal responsibility and “if it feels good do it” society that it’s going to take decades, if ever, to get back to traditional values.
As much as I hate abortion, I fear the harder line we take to try to stop it from ever happening, the deeper the resistance will be. Even if we made abortion totally illegal it would never go to zero. We need to get more women on our side, provide alternative care and adoptions, and change their hearts to accept some responsibility and not abort.
This is such an emotional subject and rightly so. It’s horrible that we humans have become so self absorbed that some just don’t care about the life of a baby.
And, we see this with many other issues, rising crime, murders, racial issues, fatherless children, declining marriages, on an on. So just passing a law to stop abortions won’t stop abortions. We have to change our culture and that will be difficult with a growing anti-religious trend and Godless society.
What are we doing an individuals, communities and a nation to support women during a pregnancy and, if she gives birth, the child afterward? I don’t think so and am not sure if there are numbers that can be used to expand that support.

A total federal ban on abortion would not stop abortion. It would scare many moderate voters and many women.
In its way, a total ban is as unacceptable as the forced abortions the CCP was putting on its people with their one child policy. We do not need a government telling us what to do on this issue. I do think however, that there definitely should be a limit on when an abortion can be done, in the first trimester.
The pro life movement would do better to push for child care programs, adoption programs and given our declining population, I would favor incentives for married American citizens to have more children. I think there are many persuasive arguments that will prevent a woman from choosing an abortion, if she has some door to go through, but an iron boot is never the best answer.

Thank you and I agree. IN the 90’s I supported American Life League only to find out that the leadership was living in luxury on the small donations of many to supposedly aid babies. I agree, many are feathering their nests while supposedly doing good work. And that is the problem in many orgs that jump on the saving babies wagon; a good amount of money is spent on raising more money, some to pay themselves for “good” works, and a little for the good works.
The part most forget is that the Good Lord sees all things and I assume they have received their reward.
Grifters always latch on to ‘worthy’ causes like sick children, wounded veterans, abused animals.. Just because they tout worthy causes does not make the charitable organization itself legitimate.
I never “round up” my change at the store for solicited donations. My charity work is always done locally through neighborhood groups I deal with up close and personal, not through any national charities.

Yes, the protection of all life *should* be a federal matter.
But it IS currently a “state-level” issue. The Supreme Court said so. Her complaint is with them. In theory, they could have not only thrown out Roe, but they also could have declared all current laws permitting abortion null and void in all states. But it wasn’t going to happen.
Hearts and minds must be changed over time, first in the red states, then in the blue. One bright day, the court and the American people will decide that all life must be protected.
If she wants a federal ban, she can go work on a constitutional amendment, get it approved by Congress to be sent the the states for ratification, and then work to get states to ratify it. That’s how it is done. Not by ultra vires executive order or statutes.

That NRA comparison grossly understates Lila Rose’s accomplishments.
She was the first person to expose with undercover videos how Planned Parenthood was ignoring adults having sex with underage girls (i.e., statutory rape) and aborting the resulting babies instead of contacting law enforcement. This was the beginning of Planned Parenthood becoming a clearly discredited organization to all but the most dogmatic abortion proponents. Her organization continues to do such undercover work.
I think Ms. Rose is unrealistic and unfair in her assessment of Trump and in her belief that it’s currently possible to establish a universally applicable right to life at the federal level, and that her statement about Trump is very unhelpful. But her profile heroism should not be in question.

I am also donating to an effort to find malpractice cases and other dirt on abortion providers in that godforsaken state. The investigarors will show how terrible a job New York authorities are doing in protecting women and girls from the abortion providers who are responsible for so many lawsuits, ambulance rons, and deaths of women and girls.

Believe it or not, roughly 75 to 80 percent of right to life donations come from Catholics.
Many Protestant believers are pro-life, but their donations pale with regard to the donations of Catholics.
I know a number of pro-life leaders, and they all say the same thing.
In fact, the evangelicals didn’t get involved in the pro-life movement for the first decade or so after Roe v Wade. Many preachers figured since the Catholic bishops were fighting against abortion, they would stay out of it. I’m old enough to have been there in the 1970s.
The first group of evangelical preachers to come out as pro-life were black pastors. They understood Planned Parenthood was targeting people of color.

Because all of the concepts of deciding when an embryo/fetus becomes “human” are ONLY defined by religious tests if conception is the starting point. The Constitution clearly states that “the government shall make no law regarding the establishment of religion nor the free exercise thereof.” If my religion, or lack of religion, doesn’t comport with your ideas/ideals, you have NO right to force me to comply with your position.
Is a still born child a human? Most religions won’t allow a name to be attached to a still born child and some won’t even do a religious burial service. How can they then maintain that the “child” was human at conception?

Also, why should any money received from voters who are for “conservative” causes go to those who have gone along with all the money going to Ukraine? They are obviously not “America First” if they are so reckless with our treasure and are possibly considering sending our beautiful young people there – why, they should have verbally slapped that sucker Zelenskyy down and told him “no more money for you” when he started talking about how our people should be over there in the fight.

However, bringing out the purportedly prolife groups this early tells me they know the real poll numbers and unless they get DeSoros to move up in his polling then there is no way to sell him at the GOP convention when they change the rules.
With Roe v. Wade now overturned, many pro-life groups now want a federal law banning abortion outright.
But there’s one problem: according to Dobbs v. Jackson, such a law would be unconstitutional unless the Constitution were amended to permit it. And as we all SHOULD know, the President has no say whatsoever in the constitutional amendment process; the responsibility falls on the shoulders of Congress and the state legislatures.
Now, ideally it would be nice to have a chief executive who would push such an amendment. However, realistically such efforts could easily backfire; they could be seen as an attempt to disrupt the system of checks and balances.
With the above said, it would be wise for Ms. Rose to reassess her position. Focus on the legislatures, not the executives.

I don’t see how DeSantis can possibly be a viable general election candidate considering some of the positions he has taken, on abortion and other subjects. His entire campaign seems to be an attempt to destroy Trump rather than a campaign to elect DeSantis.
