Delivering statistics on gun deaths among teenagers, NBC News Chuck Todd discovers that black teenagers are killing each other at a much higher rate than white and asian kids. Todd is shocked, shocked, at the outcome. WATCH:
The rumors of cultural violence have Chuck Todd perplexed….
So if guns were the problem then those percentages should all be equal. Actually it should be higher for whites as white own far more guns than blacks.
Legally, any way
I disagree on the ownership, especially if broken down by percentage of population. Here’s why.
A few years ago I was in a discussion with about 8 or 10 black friends/co-workers at a major airline I was working for in Chicago.
The discussion was centered around how many guys they thought were actually carrying a gun at White Sox park.
I said I didn’t know anyone that I knew would carry their weapon into the ballpark. (For context, Sox park is located in a notoriously dangerous neighborhood)
At that time no baseball parks were screening for anything.
When the discussion turned to a racial aspect I asked them “how many of the black guys in attendance do you think are carrying.”
Their answer, almost in unison was Every. Single. One.
Consider my eyes open from that day forward.
My experience with blacks:
Back in 1961, my TN school was peacefully integrated.
During the years 1963-1969 my school’s sports teams were integrated and the entire community sat in the stands with pride. Prior to that, everything was mostly separate.
In college, I made friends with many black students but one was particularly violent minded towards whites and I wrote it off to not coming from a background of peaceful integration after 1964.
After college I began teaching at an all white city school in Memphis, TN.
The next year, integration began and they closed some black schools and sent them to our school which had about 1200 students in the high school
The next year, they moved black teachers to predominantly white schools and the white teachers were sent to predominantly black schools. This was in Memphis, TN.
In 1978, we (black and white teachers alike) went on a much needed strike to demand changes to pay and seniority.
Black discrimination began…
In 1979, I went to work for a white principal who was replaced three years later by a PREJUDICE black principal. That is when I witnessed discrimination against white teachers first hand. We never had another white teacher substitute for any position and the principal was nasty as heck to anyone white. I was soon declared surplus and I landed in an ALL BLACK high school for the next five years. This transition was made according to the seniority we had fought for back in 1978. I replaced a young beautiful black teacher and she had to go somewhere else. That made me a target for awhile but I soon won the kids over without having to quit. It was not easy. The kids and the parents in that community were a joy to work with.
After 1984, the complexion throughout the school district began to favor blacks. Black superintendent, black principals, the school board began to reflect black only initiatives…..and that was when I began a career for the next 20 years where being white meant one was evil. At that point I had moved out of the classroom and was subjected to Mean Black Women which eventually forced me into retirement.
The BLACK ONLY mentality is real and vicious. Today my daughter is the only white person still standing in her company that has recently sent a BLACK overseer to Memphis to try and get her job. Black overseer trained in two major cities that are run by BLACK Democrats and she sure as hell isn’t worried about the bottom line. She wants a black person to be in the seat my daughter occupies. Fortunately my daughter has worked in two major metropolitan cities and one smaller city throughout the country. She is excellent at her job and that is why she is targeted. Her pay checks would make most anyone very happy.
This is our world today. My friends that are still in education understand that white teachers are not wanted or desired and the black children show no respect like that did when I taught in that all black high school.
I finally ended up in a rural community school in North Mississippi. Prejudice with a twist is how I describe that 10 year experience. I had to deal with the old black freedom fighters from the 60’s who taught their students to shun white people. That battle will exist until they are in their graves. It is a shame to see sweet kids go into their classes and see them come out as hateful young adults.
BTW, my take on violence in the black community is that fighting earns them respect. We used to have 15 fights per week during my last 10 years working in a mostly black school. The white kids, unless they were drug users, kept their mouths shut and ate lunch in silence for the most part.
When I was a graduate student, men did not receive fellowships. They were reserved only for women. That meant that men had to work while women did not. They were given free money.
As a professor, I have seen a transformation in hiring in Texas. My department hires a new professor about every year, sometimes we do not hire, sometimes we hire two. In the last 11 years, we have not hired a single white male. Our college president wants to transform the teaching of mathematics by excluding white males, and hiring as many black and hispanic professors as possible. At other places that I have worked, hiring committees consisted of professors from within the department with one from outside the department to ensure that standards are maintained. Here, half of the hiring committee consists of staff appointed by the college president. That way she can ensure that positions are exclusively given to affirmative action hires. What is more, she insists that three unranked candidates be given to her for final consideration. She then uses the principle that if three candidates are given to her, and at least one is a minority, then she is obligated to offer the position to the minority. In this way, we always hire minorities.
White males, no matter how talented or passionate, need not apply for a position as professor in my department. This is Texas today, being transformed before my eyes. Racism against white males is very real.
Why still live amongst them? You have skills. Listen to Scott Adams’ advice:
https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2023/02/24/what-did-scott-adams-say-dilbert-cartoonist-trends-after-podcast-rant/
I worked often in Dayton city schools (oh). It was heart breaking to see very young black kids come to school all bright and happy and see them get dumber and angrier every year…
And lower for Hispanics.
Of course this liar knew all along.
Absolutely.
Think of Joe’s comment saying the quiet part out loud: “Poor kids are just as smart as white kids!”
Chuck Todd must either be as thick as brick or deliberately lying about not knowing. I could show him newspaper reports from decades ago that support violence of blacks against blacks being disproportionate. Perhaps he was not able to connect the dots?
The Chuck Todds of the world owe their positions to *not* connecting the dots.
No doubt those were the best figures they could lipstick. Imagine if they were factual.
A racist gun grabbing analogy. Guns don’t do shoot themselves Chucky. I’d be willing to bet if he actually did some investigative research that the vast majority of these shootings were gang related and most of the shooters had a rap sheet full of previous charges as a minor that lenient judges and Marxist prosecutors sent back on the streets to destroy more victims in their black community. Chuck’s viewership is extremely low information, misinformed, brainwashed sheeple. The gun doesn’t know anything about race. The racist is the judges and prosecutors failing to do their job in keeping the streets safe from these thugs.
A certifiable frikking nitwit.
So Chuck Todd is finally calling a spade a spade.
This is what happens when DemonRats run a city where they refuse to acknowledge the facts of life about who’s committing the crimes.
In this case Chicago’s new mayor is actively protecting the subhuman terrorists who have taken over.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11980145/Chicagos-new-mayor-condemns-takeover-chaos-says-not-constructive-demonize-teens.html
oh no Seneca! Chuck said it was the pandemic.
Sorry, but I just could not make it through this insufferable idiot’s feeble attempt at getting red-pilled
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!!
Here’s the thing, if you don’t take care of the problem, it will take care of itself…
He never ID’s the ‘group’ that shoots black kids and leaves viewers to come up with their own narrative.
What up, Chuck??
What caused Chuck to pull his out of the sand?
It’s not like this information hasn’t been known for a long, long, long time.
I guess that I missed the point of his awakening. Is this news new to him? We all know that this is happening. Why not a statistic of b l a c k on w h i te homocides of minors? How about a discussion of why w h i te children are committing suicide? Could it be the constant beating of the w h i te man is bad drum that the press is broadcasting? I remain sick of it all.
The majority of the guns used are also black in color could also be a contributing factor for the increase.
Let F Todd put this in his data.
The never produce data regarding black on white crime vs white on black crime and black on Asian crime vs Asian on black crime. The Democrat cities will be food, gas, medicine, and clothing deserts.
I think he should research some of Joe Biden’s previous quotes on crime.
Yes, these people are really this clueless and detached from reality.
Chuck thinks guns are racist. Perhaps some of the social welfare programs have hurt the black community rather than helped the family unit? Perhaps the nuclear family unit is a source of strength for most children and society at large.
Now tell us who is doing the shooting
“There’s no anger like a Black man’s anger”
The saying above is part of US Black culture & it’s an absolute trap. In the end, the entire Civil Rights movement was a ploy to destroy healthy, stable (albeit mostly poor) Black families. This is why MLK was removed, he realized his pawn role & was going to speak out. The betrayal of LBJ to the Black community & the reliance on the gov’t to ensure Black America was very much enslaved once again (this time to the fed gov’t teet) is still happening today. But try telling this to Black leadership…
just shows how out of touch these people are.
Black on black violence is what the clueless lame stream media and politicians can’t bring themselves to acknowledge exists. If you remove the black-on-black numbers, the crime and murder rates are 80% lower demonstrating it’s not a gun problem but a race problem.
They have to work hard to eliminate the white males of American heritage.
They have chosen a different tactic for the young black males of American heritage. They’ve got them killing each other off.
Funny how he missed the statistics on the color of the finger pulling the trigger in all those homicides.
Term limits in DC. Sperm limits in the Hood?
I predected this two years ago. These idiots have decimated children and young adults!
After locking down, isolating, not allowing any interaction during critical growth stages and coupled with lax enforcement of the laws we are going to see a crime spree that is going to shock this nation and it will continue to mushroom out of control
for a long time.
Obviously, the guns are racist.
Duh
Yes, Chuck Todd is and has always been a “useful idiot” of the Demcommies.
Odd that he does not mention that 94% of black homicides are committed by blacks. The percentage is probably even higher for black kids.
“black teenagers are killing each other at a much higher rate than white and asian kids… ”
That may be true, but you’re Racist! for bringing it up.
Chucky very carefully did not say black teenagers are killing each other; the demographics of the murders were left up to the imagination. Interesting that the comment was “for the first time this century, gun deaths exceed deaths in auto accidents” not for the first time ever. I assume the percentage that is missing (to total 100% in his chart) are accidental deaths?
I am from a family that was poor and became middle class. My folks were from Arizona and moved to suburbs of Los Angeles. I was born on late 50s but my sis was born in 50 and my brother in 52. My parents made all of us work and after HS leave. When I graduated HS my parents showed me the door I went to work for the phone company to live and pay for college.
I ended up working on multiracial crews in South Central LA (Black Slums) and it was open warfare. This was from mid to late 70s. There was daily shootings. My and other crews were attacked. My Boss, who was Black, was shot. I was eating lunch one day at a fast food and a gang saw some other gang member walking by the fast food/bus stop and started shooting. They killed the gang member and 4 at the bus stop and shot up the fast food hitting some and missing a few including me just by inches. There was other areas the police would not go to and we would only go to during certain times.
I saw Black on Black crime was the worse. Black crime was the next worse to others. I found the Black Slums were most racist by far. I lived in an area that was split equally between White, Mexican-American, and Asian-American and we had no racism. My best friend was Mexican-American and his mom was like my second mom.
I was waiting for him to say we need to shoot more White and Hispanic kids in the name of equity
Classic stupid psychopathic Leftist Liberal. This data has been widely known for decades. Just another example of the world of illusion in which these people live.
todd looks like he is using raci$t math, why is the left so raci$t? need to understand these shooters and their struggles and societal outcomes…not just listing factists.
these poor aa honor student chilrens are trying to feed themselves on the way to choir practice (so the good aa must be ridding us of the bad aa?)
the honkey$ are killing themseles (must be mentally ill).
seems the aa kids are doing the best job for society and should be rewarded.
If Chuck Todd or Leftists in general truly gave a crap about Americans who happen to be black, they’d actually do something about the black genocide happening all around us. 38,600 black babies aborted for every 1 born alive. That’s the real face and I’d argue the historically racists left’s true purpose for supporting abortion. They leaned they had to give up the methods they used with the Klan. They hate blacks so much that they’ve established abortion on demand facilities throughout America’s inner-cities to make it easy for those they hate to murder their progeny. They even used the methods ascribed by Edward Bernays to persuade the black community (and self hating middle class liberal white women) that is was a good thing for black women to mass abort their own children. Forget the 38,600 murdered in the womb, that’s a good thing, but a few thousand kids killing each other to build their street cred means America must give up their 2nd Amendment rights!
LOL. Math is hard. Teen gun deaths grew by 100%, not 50% Chuck.
Silly me, I thought cops were going to teenage birthday parties late at night and shooting underage black teens. (sarc)
Where are the protests against black shooting blacks?
Where is BLM working to put a stop to this problem?
Where are concerned and outraged black parents demanding that their community stops this now?
Where has Chuck Todd been, blaming everything on white conservatives!
Remember this the next time someone cites the total number of gun deaths per 100,000 people and see who skews the statistic.
https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/pdfs/mm7042a6-H.pdf
The real key to reducing “gun violence” is embedded in the tiny number of Asian Americans killed by gunfire. No, it isn’t “the guns.” It is the families that count. Asian families are rock solid and instill in their children responsibility and discipline, which is making them the most successful racial/ethnic group in America. With 120 guns (minimum) for every 100 people in the US, less than one Asian American per 100,000 people is killed by gunshot.
It is NOT “the guns.”
“Yeah but Trump….”
Some NY Congress thug.
I came across this article quite a few years ago. The intro is by Allen West and has been shortened.
Without further comment:
Quite Possibly the Most Racist Article You Will Ever Read
Allen West, December 29, 2014
Every now and then you come across an article that folks just need to read. This one written by Michael Smith entitled, “Confessions of a Public Defender” and originally posted at American Renaissance on May 9, 2014 is one of those articles.
It is a profound and deeply disturbing piece, which, as we end 2014, we all need to comprehend as we move towards the 50th anniversary of the Great Society initiatives of President Lyndon Baines Johnson…
Confessions of a Public Defender
Michael Smith, American Renaissance, May 9, 2014
I am a public defender in a large southern metropolitan area. Fewer than 10 percent of the people in the area I serve are black but over 90 percent of my clients are black. The remaining 10 percent are mainly Hispanics but there are a few whites.
I have no explanation for why this is, but crime has racial patterns. Hispanics usually commit two kinds of crime: sexual assault on children and driving under the influence. Blacks commit many violent crimes but very few sex crimes. The handful of whites I see commit all kinds of crimes. In my many years as a public defender I have represented only three Asians, and one was half black.
As a young lawyer, I believed that blacks are law abiding, intelligent, family-oriented people, but are so poor they must turn to crime to survive. Actual black behavior was a shock to me.
The media invariably sugarcoat black behavior. Even the news reports of the very crimes I dealt with in court were slanted. Television news intentionally leaves out unflattering facts about the accused, and sometimes omits names that are obviously black. All this rocked my liberal, tolerant beliefs, but it took me years to set aside my illusions and accept the reality of what I see every day. I have now served thousands of blacks and their families, protecting their rights and defending them in court. What follow are my observations.
Although blacks are only a small percentage of our community, the courthouse is filled with them: The halls and gallery benches are overflowing with black defendants, families, and crime victims. Most whites with business in court arrive quietly, dress appropriately, and keep their heads down. They get in and get out — if they can — as fast as they can. For blacks, the courthouse is like a carnival. They all seem to know each other: hundreds and hundreds each day, gossiping, laughing loudly, waving, and crowding the halls.
When I am appointed to represent a client I introduce myself and explain that I am his lawyer. I explain the court process and my role in it, and I ask the client some basic questions about himself. At this stage, I can tell with great accuracy how people will react. Hispanics are extremely polite and deferential. An Hispanic will never call me by my first name and will answer my questions directly and with appropriate respect for my position. Whites are similarly respectful.
A black man will never call me Mr. Smith; I am always “Mike.” It is not unusual for a 19-year-old black to refer to me as “Dog.” A black may mumble complaints about everything I say, and roll his eyes when I politely interrupt so I can continue with my explanation. Also, everything I say to blacks must be at about the third-grade level. If I slip and use adult language, they get angry because they think I am flaunting my superiority.
At the early stages of a case, I explain the process to my clients. I often do not yet have the information in the police reports. Blacks are unable to understand that I do not yet have answers to all of their questions, but that I will by a certain date. They live in the here and the now and are unable to wait for anything. Usually, by the second meeting with the client I have most of the police reports and understand the case.
Unlike people of other races, blacks never see their lawyer as someone who is there to help them. I am a part of the system against which they are waging war. They often explode with anger at me and are quick to blame me for anything that goes wrong in their case.
Black men often try to trip me up and challenge my knowledge of the law or the facts of the case. I appreciate sincere questions about the elements of the offense or the sentencing guidelines, but blacks ask questions to test me. Unfortunately, they are almost always wrong in their reading, or understanding, of the law, and this can cause friction. I may repeatedly explain the law, and provide copies of the statute showing, for example, why my client must serve six years if convicted, but he continues to believe that a hand-written note from his “cellie” is controlling law.
The risks of trial
The Constitution allows a defendant to make three crucial decisions in his case. He decides whether to plea guilty or not guilty. He decides whether to have a bench trial or a jury trial. He decides whether he will testify or whether he will remain silent. A client who insists on testifying is almost always making a terrible mistake, but I cannot stop him.
Most black defendants are unable to speak English well. They cannot conjugate verbs. They have a poor grasp of verb tenses. They have a limited vocabulary. They cannot speak without swearing. They often become hostile on the stand. Many, when they testify, show a complete lack of empathy and are unable to conceal a morality based on the satisfaction of immediate, base needs. This is a disaster, especially in a jury trial. Most jurors are white, and are appalled by the demeanor of uneducated, criminal blacks.
Prosecutors are delighted when a black defendant takes the stand. It is like shooting fish in a barrel. However, the defense usually gets to cross-examine the black victim, who is likely to make just as bad an impression on the stand as the defendant. This is an invaluable gift to the defense, because jurors may not convict a defendant — even if they think he is guilty — if they dislike the victim even more than they dislike the defendant.
Most criminal cases do not go to trial. Often the evidence against the accused is overwhelming, and the chances of conviction are high. The defendant is better off with a plea bargain: pleading guilty to a lesser charge and getting a lighter sentence.
The decision to plea to a lesser charge turns on the strength of the evidence. When blacks ask the ultimate question — “Will we win at trial?” — I tell them I cannot know, but I then describe the strengths and weaknesses of our case. The weaknesses are usually obvious: There are five eyewitnesses against you. Or, you made a confession to both the detective and your grandmother. They found you in possession of a pink cell phone with a case that has rhinestones spelling the name of the victim of the robbery. There is a video of the murderer wearing the same shirt you were wearing when you were arrested, which has the words “In Da Houz” on the back, not to mention you have the same “RIP Pookie 7/4/12” tattoo on your neck as the man in the video. Etc.
If you tell a black man that the evidence is very harmful to his case, he will blame you. “You ain’t wokin’ fo’ me.” “It like you wokin’ with da State.” Every public defender hears this. The more you try to explain the evidence to a black man, the angrier he gets. It is my firm belief many blacks are unable to discuss the evidence against them rationally because they cannot view things from the perspective of others. They simply cannot understand how the facts in the case will appear to a jury.
This inability to see things from someone else’s perspective helps explain why there are so many black criminals. They do not understand the pain they are inflicting on others. One of my robbery clients is a good example. He and two co-defendants walked into a small store run by two young women. All three men were wearing masks. They drew handguns and ordered the women into a back room. One man beat a girl with his gun. The second man stood over the second girl while the third man emptied the cash register. All of this was on video.
My client was the one who beat the girl. When he asked me, “What are our chances at trial?” I said, “Not so good.” He immediately got angry, raised his voice, and accused me of working with the prosecution. I asked him how he thought a jury would react to the video. “They don’t care,” he said. I told him the jury would probably feel deeply sympathetic towards these two women and would be angry at him because of how he treated them. I asked him whether he felt bad for the women he had beaten and terrorized. He told me what I suspected — what too many blacks say about the suffering of others: “What do I care? She ain’t me. She ain’t kin. Don’t even know her.”
No fathers
As a public defender, I have learned many things about people. One is that defendants do not have fathers. If a black even knows the name of his father, he knows of him only as a shadowy person with whom he has no ties. When a client is sentenced, I often beg for mercy on the grounds that the defendant did not have a father and never had a chance in life. I have often tracked down the man’s father — in jail — and have brought him to the sentencing hearing to testify that he never knew his son and never lifted a finger to help him. Often, this is the first time my client has ever met his father. These meetings are utterly unemotional.
Many black defendants don’t even have mothers who care about them. Many are raised by grandmothers after the state removes the children from an incompetent teenaged mother. Many of these mothers and grandmothers are mentally unstable, and are completely disconnected from the realities they face in court and in life. A 47-year-old grandmother will deny that her grandson has gang ties even though his forehead is tattooed with a gang sign or slogan. When I point this out in as kind and understanding way as I can, she screams at me. When black women start screaming, they invoke the name of Jesus and shout swear words in the same breath.
Black women have great faith in God, but they have a twisted understanding of His role. They do not pray for strength or courage. They pray for results: the satisfaction of immediate needs. One of my clients was a black woman who would pray in a circle with her accomplices for God’s protection from the police before they would set out to commit a robbery.
The mothers and grandmothers pray in the hallways — not for justice, but for acquittal. When I explain that the evidence that their beloved child murdered the shop keeper is overwhelming, and that he should accept the very fair plea bargain I have negotiated, they will tell me that he is going to trial and will “ride with the Lord.” They tell me they speak to God every day and He assures them that the young man will be acquitted.
The mothers and grandmothers do not seem to be able to imagine and understand the consequences of going to trial and losing. Some — and this is a shocking reality it took me a long time to grasp — don’t really care what happens to the client, but want to make it look as though they care. This means pounding their chests in righteous indignation, and insisting on going to trial despite terrible evidence. They refuse to listen to the one person — their lawyer — who has the knowledge to make the best recommendation. These people soon lose interest in the case, and stop showing up after about the third or fourth court date. It is then easier for me to convince the client to act in his own best interests and accept a plea agreement.
Part of the problem is that underclass black women begin having babies at age 15. They continue to have babies, with different black men, until they have had five or six. These women do not go to school. They do not work. They are not ashamed to live on public money. They plan their entire lives around the expectation that they will always get free money and never have to work. I do not see this among whites, Hispanics, or any other people.
The black men who become my clients also do not work. They get social security disability payments for a mental defects or for a vague and invisible physical ailment. They do not pay for anything: not for housing (Grandma lives on welfare and he lives with her), not for food (Grandma and the baby-momma share with him), and not for child support. When I learn that my 19-year-old defendant does not work or go to school, I ask, “What do you do all day?” He smiles. “You know, just chill.” These men live in a culture with no expectations, no demands, and no shame.
If you tell a black to dress properly for trial, and don’t give specific instructions, he will arrive in wildly inappropriate clothes. I represented a woman who was on trial for drugs; she wore a baseball cap with a marijuana leaf embroidered on it. I represented a man who wore a shirt that read “rules are for suckers” to his probation hearing. Our office provides suits, shirts, ties, and dresses for clients to wear for jury trials. Often, it takes a whole team of lawyers to persuade a black to wear a shirt and tie instead of gang colors.
From time to time the media report that although blacks are 12 percent of the population they are 40 percent of the prison population. This is supposed to be an outrage that results from unfair treatment by the criminal justice system. What the media only hint at is another staggering reality: recidivism. Black men are arrested and convicted over and over. It is typical for a black man to have five felony convictions before the age of 30. This kind of record is rare among whites and Hispanics, and probably even rarer among Asians.
At one time our office was looking for a motto that defined our philosophy. Someone joked that it should be: “Doesn’t everyone deserve an eleventh chance?”
I am a liberal. I believe that those of us who are able to produce abundance have a moral duty to provide basic food, shelter, and medical care for those who cannot care for themselves. I believe we have this duty even to those who can care for themselves but don’t. This world view requires compassion and a willingness to act on it.
My experience has taught me that we live in a nation in which a jury is more likely to convict a black defendant who has committed a crime against a white. Even the dullest of blacks know this. There would be a lot more black-on-white crime if this were not the case.
However, my experience has also taught me that blacks are different by almost any measure from all other people. They cannot reason as well. They cannot communicate as well. They cannot control their impulses as well. They are a threat to all who cross their paths, black and non-black alike.
I do not know the solution to this problem. I do know that it is wrong to deceive the public. Whatever solutions we seek should be based on the truth rather than what we would prefer was the truth. As for myself, I will continue do my duty to protect the rights of all who need me.
