A case study in the DeceptiCon politics that we discuss amid these pages surfaced today.
WASHINGTON DC – Former Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) on Wednesday joined Husch Blackwell Strategies, a Washington, D.C., lobbying firm with close ties to the veteran GOP senator.
Blunt will lead a newly launched strategic advisory practice at the firm, which is run by Gregg Hartley, Blunt’s former chief of staff in the House, and Andy Blunt, his son. Blunt will also reunite with Stacy McBride, his chief of staff in the Senate who joined the firm last month.
Blunt recently retired from Congress after 26 years in office. He held several prominent roles, chairing the Senate Rules Committee and Senate Republican Policy Committee and serving as the No. 2 Republican in the House. He was a trusted adviser to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).
Blunt is the third senator from the 117th Congress to announce a new gig. Former Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.) joined lobbying and law firm DLA Piper in a similar advisory role. Former Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio) joined the American Enterprise Institute as a public policy fellow.
The Missouri Republican, who served on the Senate Intelligence Committee, will maintain his security clearance and continue to advise the intelligence community separate from his role at the firm. He’ll also stay on as the recently elected president of the State Historical Society of Missouri. (read more)
Almost the entire Blunt family are lobbyists
Blunt is 73. He could retire, but it is never enough for some people. Hollywood likes to talk about nepo babies getting all of the privilege, but Hollywood doesn’t compare to the family ties in DC eating at the trough.
Roy with the power of his office, got his wife and son lobbyist jobs years ago. It’s a family tradition
It is not about getting more as much as protecting themselves from prosecution of what they and their family have already stolen.
“Nobody notices or cares what FORMER members of Congress do” is another maxim to go by the wayside.
For far too long, it WAS a trueism, but now,…
WE are paying attention and WE NOTICE.
Like the “revolving door” or “regulstory capture” that is obvious now, both between the Pentagon and military contractors, between the FDA and drug companies, not only Congressmembers but their staffs get their payoffs when they “leave Govt. screwing, er “service” and go into the “private sector” where they can culminate the act of screwing Us.
Excellent reading material here. Really gets to the meat of who owns DC. https://unlimitedhangout.com/2023/04/investigative-reports/robert-maxwell-goes-to-texas-the-story-of-bluebonnet-part-1/
Retire? He’s just beginning to spread misery and evil.
Bill and Hill’s fav.
These foot soldiers need to get their teeth knocked in just for starters and the only thing preventing that from being reality is election fraud and lots of free money.
Great photo. Luckily I had dinner hours ago.
This photo is photoshopped. I can tell. None of these excuses for real men would have the amount of junk in their shorts depicted in the pictures.
And Mitch looks far too buff.
And thank God, as there isn’t enough eye bleach in the World,..
Jordan, Comer, Roy, Massi, etc should be in that disgusting photo. These scum are worse then democrats, they sneer at the majority of people that voted them in. All of them should have just one year to prove they are doing their job, and if they can’t, dump them.
The short term thinking is terrifying.
The indifference to nuclear war with Russia over Ukraine comes from such short term thinking.
The human imagination cannot comprehend the pervasive effect of nuclear radiation on the global environment.
At my age (66) I recall the endless propaganda of the Left about nuclear radiation when Ronald Reagan was President.
There was no such thing as a haven from radiation, then.
The Fate of the Earth. Neville Shute. On the Beach.
These names still resonate with me.
Or, like Global Warming, they just made all this sh*t up. Let’s hope.
I always saw Blunt as a doughy-faced little nothingburger who’d attached himself to someone he saw as “The Big Guy”. He and Thune and Barasso trailed McConnell around, as one looked for them to be helping McC with his robe, his orb and his sceptre.
John “Juneteenth” Cornyn must miss them.
My typical muted nasty comment(s) for the day:
F*%+ Roy Blunt!!!
Btw, INSCOM – where are you????!!
Et tu, Brute? AGAIN!!!
Get on their asses, people! They are the literal last line of ‘official’ defense.
INSCOM – I’m just getting started, though I’ve called you out several times lately.
In time, everyone is going to figure out who you are, you’re capabilities and whether you’re gonna stop this shit, or expose yourselves as the ULTIMATE TRAITORS – the force that can use CI with law enforcement authority for Sedition and Treason and has DONE NOTHING!
Until you send a sign, F%#^ YOU TOO!!!!!!!!
The feed of the trough is just too powerful, too potent.
They are addicted, and they will follow orders.
SMDH!
Grifters All!!
Of course they leave DC after they are exposed by President Trump.
So predictable
On a roll today. More coming!
F#*% these too!
Destroy the Lobbyist Oligarchs!
“It’s time to make some money” Trent Lott MS Senator R. leader before Mitch when he retired in 2010, John Breaux LA D. Senator went at the same time and formed a partnership with Trent to lobby the place they just retired from. But that’s not a conflict of interest for them, don’t you know.
He’s gonna get his pay off for his part in killing of America, and being the good puppet. I really can’t stand these jerks.
You can add Richard Burr to that list of jerks. He didn’t get enough money while he was SSCI chairman so now he’s after more as a lobbyist. Burr and Warner did as much damage to President Trump as possible before Burr stepped down due to a senate investigation for insider trading. He decided earlier not to run again and I guess it was because he had this lobbyist job in his back pocket already. SPIT!
There’s a way to end this shit. Stonewall knew it.
Until the black flag is raised, they’ll just keep doing it and laughing at us while they do.
Good way for Mitch to pump money at votes in the house at arms length.
Little comfort, but the CCP reserve their greatest contempt for the quislings they have corrupted, and that even they view as “betraying their own” and so, once the quisling has outlived its usefulness, they have no interest in them any more.
And, the final “use” for the CCP, is to have the quislings betrayal exposed, as it demoralises the people.
I truly wonder if this is whats going on with Joe, Mitch and the other leaders that have been doing bejings bidding for years.
“Throwing them under the bus” is usually used to describe tossing someone under as a “sacrifice” as opposed to going under yourself. This is more like throwing out a useless piece of equipment.
Is THIS why all the stories came out, about Joe’s mishandling of documents, and they couldn’t ‘simply’ block the investigations?
Imagine an entire adult lifetime of swimming with swamp critters and grifting off taxpayers.
No need to imagine. It’s real.
those f*kcers need to be run off a cliff.

Just more proof that Washington DC is run by and for a bipartisan criminal class of slimy parasites. They can’t just gracefully retire with wealth, influence and perks galore, they have to keep screwing with us. What reason is there for a former office holder to maintain a security clearance other than to facilitate special interest lobbying and insider trading?
I thought there was a rule that congresscritters can’t take lobbyist jobs for a certain number of years after leaving congress. Oh yeah, they don’t have rules now. Anything goes for the money rakers now. SMH.
“So crooked that when they die, they’ll have to screw ’em into the ground” – the late Chuck Harder
You can say that Blunt retired but he did so before he would have been fired. Like Richard Lugar, he wore out his welcome after the working class figured out his McConnell/Wall Street connection.
Unlike Senator Dole, senator Blunt did nothing for the transportation infrastructure in his state. Basic stuff, interstate highway, bridges, pcommunications.
Because Senators don’t have to represent their State, or the people OF their State, by getting Federal dollars funneled into such projects.
They just funnel graft, into the State R party leadership, which then insures their reelection by “whatever means neccesary”; they don’t NEED their constituents votes, they just need ballots.
Always stay one step ahead of the LAW!!!
Well, he is trying to beat the law that President Trump will put in to stop ….. as in not allow…… congressmen and senator to be lobbyists for the federal government.
It won’t work. The restriction will be retroactive.
Whenever you feel angry at Blunt and his deception ways, just remember, it was Roy Blunt who had to MC Trumps inauguration lol 😂
blunt, the biggest fake Missouri has ever seen. From the Ozark region in southern Missouri, blunt pushed an image of Christian hometown values early in his career. Then, the money became to overwhelming for blunt to resist. He quickly understood the immense gravy train available to him and his family. His political position fully established he and his family rode (and still ride) the DC corruption dragon. This fake, sorry ass of a man will rot in hell.
We need all RINOs to retire.
My paisan, the now retired Kevin Brady, will be the next to go…
Once they’ve been to the Imperial Capital and got a taste of its grift, how can you expect them to stay home on the farm? This is what they all seem to do.
One day, perhaps not to far off, McConnell will join McCain.
If a studio wanted to pick actors that are corrupt, brain dead, those pictured look just like the sold out, greedy grunts to be cast. People cannot hide it from their faces, when they are corrupt and sell out it just shows all over the faces.
