Andrew McCarthy notes the same thing everyone else is noticing, the absence of a violation of a criminal statute. {Direct Rumble Link}
For the first time in United States history a former president has been accused of a crime and indicted, yet the person making the accusation and bringing the charge doesn’t say what crime has been committed. What criminal statute has been violated? Even the leftist media are apoplectic at the weakness of the indictment. WATCH:

I think the legal basis of the indictment is basically “Orange Man Bad”
Isn’t that always their “argument?” And when that fails, bring out the whistles!
Next Nutty Case
After the camera was turned off she grabbed her teddy bear and went for a juice box and a nap.
Nailed it!!!!!!
I love the $10 mil cash haul since indictment. “They” (the elites) just don’t get it – everything is an echo-chamber. All these “movements” are self-fulfilling prophecies because some people got together and wanted to believe it so, all the same groups echo and echo the same halve truths and falsehoods eventually until they’ve told enough lies over and over that no one remembers what the truth is compromised.
The “DA” got pick to do someone’s bidding and he did, I don’t think he’ll gain positive light from this in the long run. Only time shall tell.
“Bragg …… the emperor with no clothes”
OMG spare us from THAT eye-dissolving horror….
Wouldn’t this be really funny if nothing results from this other then setting the precedent that now the bush family, the Clinton’s, the Obama, the Bidens can now be fair game.
Hopefully grand juries are being held towards such goals!
That would not be funny…it would be justice. President Trump will get at least a billion dollars of “free” publicity out of this crap sandwich over the next 12 month, while the GOP Presidential lightweights will be begging for money and air time. Once again our wise and brave leader sucks up the oxygen.
And this could be even better. Eric Trump had a tweet that NYC had 38,000 p0lice officers and other expenses amounting to $200 million today for President Trump’s indictment.
Sounds like President Trump has an opportunity to bankrupt New York City, if it wasn’t already bankrupt. Figure $200 million a day for a trial, 5 days a week is $1 billion a week. So a 10 week trial would be good–costing New York City a trillion dollars. That’s a pretty good payback by President Trump.
There is no statute of limitations for Arkanside.
If I were Jo Biden, I’d be shaken in ma boots!
But then again, he ain’t that smart. So he just grins.
I hope Red State AG’s are getting excited about this prospect.
R U kidding? Establishment Republicans, Bill Barr included, were consulted on this show trial in NYC.
Saw a quick blurb on the news the other day where even Barr was saying this whole fiasco is ridiculous.
I’ll put the link in here because not sure how to upload the PDF.

“But it seems that D.A. Bragg’s indictment of President Trump for crimes in New York charged 34 crimes all on dates when President Trump was not in New York. This is going to be fun!”
Pretty sure he had divested himself from his company by 2017 as well.
My heart hurts for my President and his family. I pray for their safety and well being.
To preserve your heart and beautiful soul is what Pres. Trump fights for!
Keep praying. It’s working!
It’s all about inoculating Biden to future criminal charges.
Leftists don’t look that far ahead. Well, leftists of Bragg’s ilk.
Bragg’s not part of the inner circle. He’s just a useful idiot who was convinced to bring this “indictment”.
Can’t wait to see TRUMP’S counter-punch!
And in other news, thousands of people lined the streets to cheer as Trump showed up for a campaign stop in New York city today…….
Those clowns don’t understand Trump’s ability to springboard off today’s events, adding fuel to his own fire.
I didn’t watch any of it or see NYC footage, but I bet the businesses in the area did their best revenue today…….oh, and didn’t get burned down.
History will show that only the DA got burned today.

I may not be the only one who had no idea where you are talking about. Keep in mind that, like Judge Bragg, many of us who have been in the Treehouse for more than a decade don’t know much about the law or law school.
Here’s a page of basics for others like me:

I don’t know if your contribution counts as an acronym. It is considered a courtesy, when commenting, not to throw acronyms around when there’s no reason to assume that everyone is familiar with them.
Not a lawyer, never even played one on tv, but spent a lifetime representing “en proper” or “pro se” which are latin forcrepresenting myself, I am fairly knowledgeable of the law, and I have no idea what that means, either.
I think you mean:
in propria persona.
‘in propria persona’ and ‘pro se’ are two distinctive legal terms. They do not mean the same thing at all.
One term grants jurisdiction to the court as a plaintiff or as a defendant in either civil or criminal cases on behalf of yourself.
The other is used to defy jurisdiction and requires the court or administrative claims to establish jurisdiction over the individual.
By presenting oneself as a ‘pro se’ litigant one is acknowledging jurisdiction as if one has legal counsel representing same.
‘in propria persona’ disavows jurisdiction in a matter until the court proves and establishes its jurisdiction over the litigant, at which time one may act, ‘pro se’.
Just friendly advice.

There is a reason I’m not a lawyer!
Kinda like “anything else”….lots of it is understanding the lingo and presentation of that lingo.
I was not meaning to be rude at all, just having a bit of fun with the acronym that I used, that sounds like the name of a country in the Middle East.

It’s just basically a mnemonic for remembering the components needed for writing a brief and if one had gone to law school and learned about writing a proper brief, I am thinking that little aspect of what law President Trump supposedly violated would be examined before getting to this point on this Tuesday afternoon.

suejeanne: Sounds rayciss
It would be really sad if the judge (any judge) doesn’t get p.o’d at this point. Any judge should rip apart a prosecutor making such a mistake as it wastes the time of the court and the people’s money.
O yeah??? Orangeman bad… So there…
My wife had CBS news on and their pundit was like “this is a done deal”like a perfect indictment.
This whole clown show is nothing but narrative engineering. Thankfully, people are tuning out propaganda outlets like CBS.
I was an innocent bystander
LOL
Its like a drive-by
Just when you thought Clown World had nothing else to offer.
I’m not surprised about the UK media’s responses. At least Fox News has Tucker and informed legal experts and others on to counter the “silly indictment.” The UK and Canada do not even have that.
Neil Oliver retweeted this:
Archie Bunker had it right about England and the UK…
Did you know that Archie Bunker was based on a British show called “til Death Us Do Part”? It was HILARIOUS!
Glad this excerpt was cut short so we non-fox viewers didn’t have to hear Squeal Cavuto try and twist out of the facts.
Probably was in tears.
Cavuto is an insufferable hack….

Being pro-American is the crime.
Wait. It says he pled not guilty to 34 counts. How could he have done that if he wasn’t told the crime?
Gotta love that Constitution, right?
Judgment in cases of impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust or profit under the United States: but the party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to indictment, trial, judgment and punishment, according to law.
What is your point? He was never convicted with re to an impeachment. The material you put in bold specifically does not apply to President Trump.
I posted that specific wording for exactly that reason, the supposed indictment was, and is, unconstitutionally unsound.
Everyone knows you can’t go around indicting people for misdemeanors. You are right, President Trump was not impeached, therefore… he cannot be constitutionally indicted.
Oh, they can say whatever they want but the indictment sites no law backing up the “False business entries” they want everyone to gloss over.
He was impeached (by the House). He was not convicted, which would be done by the Senate.
Exactly!
That’s why this DA created felony indictments, pretending that PDJT falsified business entries when in fact, he gave up the business to become the President. They’ve got nothing.
That’s why they stacked the counts, so people would completely gloss over the fact that there is no statute to back up their claims. Trust me, I’ve dealt with this over the years dealing with another governmental agency who pretends something is there but when I call them out out, crickets is what I get.
Did the Senate ever even take it up?
There was a Senate trial held for the first shampeachment which ended in no conviction, McCONnell punted on the second shampeachment.

Written in the days when stuff like Benedict Arnold was fresh in mind… when stuff like Alex Hamilton having a duel with Sam Burr did occasionally happen… when there were still pockets of British loyalists with family there… when the guillotine was being dragged out in France for a real revolution and it was unclear who was on what side…
.
Oh, goodness, no. And especially because those who actually DO commit crimes are not held liable for them.
They will be in on appeal multiple times BEFORE a jury is ever empaneled. Trump’s next appearance is not until December. In the meantime there will be a ton of motions filed on both sides, and the rulings by the so-called “judge” on those motions will be appealed (by writ petitions), perhaps all the way to the SCOTUS.
Discovery begins now, I believe. That is where the fireworks will begin.
Absolutely. One great thing about defense during litigation… interrogatories and rebuttals as a matter of record. Though they will probably seal the records for say, ohhh, 75 years.
Lawfare at its finest, then.
The corrupt Judge should have dismissed this case today.
Andrew McCarthy is a hack. Notice that he’s on Neil CaPuto’s show. I’ve seen him make up sh*t before about President Trump. Of course there is no law cited because President Trump didn’t break any laws. Bragg is a tyrannical POS
He definitely cribbed this analysis from Techno Fog and Robert Barnes on twitter.
And there’s this too –
So the GJ indicted him on what??? Because the prosecutor said so!
Banana Republic!
Basically, Fat Alvin arrested the 45th POTUS for no reason today.
If Trump had actually committed a crime, it would have been revealed during the 6 year investigation that began in 2016.
I would imagine hundreds of investigators and lawyers and legal assistants have left no stone unturned to take down the Bad Orange Man.
They weren’t able to find anything.
There is NO other govt. official who could withstand a 6 year investigation with unlimited funding and come out clean as a whistle like President Trump has done.
Case closed.
Sundance, in normal times the fact that even Pres. Trump’s foes are pointing out that there is no there there would comfort me. However, the rule of law is dead. Government– ALL OF IT– is weaponized against the people. I apologize in advance for saying this, but I believe in my heart that if they can’t bring Pres. Trump down in court, they will assassinate him.
There is no way they can allow him back into the WH.
That thought entered my mind as well 😮💨
When Biden mumbled that it was his duty to see that that man never attained the White House again, it was a threat against President Trump and sounded like a threat against his life.
Just like the threat that Biden made about the Nordstream pipeline – that it would be destroyed.
I am also concerned for his life.
Could be that he’s got an axe to grind –
Hutchinson isn’t a serious candidate. He’s merely a GOPe tool/hack going on interviews to take cheap pot shots at President Trump. He’s a paid hatchet man from the Lincoln project.
I didn’t know ASA Hutchinson was such a C**T. Glad he made it known to all.
It’s all political, the people who cheer on this process or whatever you call what is going on don’t care if there is a crime. They just know they, the kangaroos, rule the court.
The don’t care what other legal eagles say, because they know that no one will stand up to them.
The communist juggernaut will roll on unabated.
Well, IF you commit an ACTUAL crime (bonus points if its violent) you’ll be out on the streets so fast your head will spin.
But if the crime you didn’t commit, that if it was a crime (which it isn’t) would be a misdemeanor AND past the Statute of limitations, and committed after you had removed yourself, well then,…
I actually do feel sorry for PDJT, and sharevhis frustration.
PDJT isxa true competitor, and as such he longs for a worthy, even formidable opponent.
After all, if you ‘win’ against someone thats “easy” where is the accomplishment?
He should be besting Xi and Putin, not these mental midgets, with a toal I.Q. of under 100.
And they probably miss jousting with him too – there’s a *lot* to be said for respect!
How long before the next Soreass elected (installed) Radical Black DA in GA steps up with election interference indictment ?
Standard leftists playbook. Never mind laws, just create chaos, continue until a higher court says “no,” and then, defy the higher court.
Bragg must be brought to account. This cannot
go unaddressed.
.
Have any of these people — and I include even favorable pundits here — ever had a real job? Do they actually think that Trump opens his mail? does his own bookkeeping? personally authorizes or writes the checks that go out? spends his limited precious time having phone conversations about how relatively small items are characterized?
I’m dumbfounded.
The newsers, of course, are thrilled. Yakkity yak. Ratings.
.
Their ratings have gone in the hole since Trump left office. They are milking this for all they can to try to save their ratings.
I hope following the Bragg run circus and President Trump’s indictment today didn’t prevent Trump voters in Wisconsin from voting today for Kelly for Supreme Court judge and other state votes. Polls close @9 EST.
“Even the leftist media are apoplectic at the weakness of the indictment.”
BULLMOOSE! yeah, I changed the spelling.
These “people” have been interrupting each other for over 5 YEARS to bloviate on PDJT and his lack of anything they consider to be intelligent and responsible, which is exactly why they have been losing the audience numbers, because all they are doing is proving how crass and stupid they are. Now they think this is a nothing burger? THEY are the ones who are not intelligent and responsible, they are the ones with no integrity or morals. Hypocrites.
Neil Cavuto was about to cry 😂
I don’t know. I only watched the clip Sundance posted.
LOL
Am I missing something? Is President Trump being indicted for any felonies, as was reported by the LSM via leaks? Or are his indictments all misdemeanors? Either way, it’s all DS shenanigans but, still, I am not clear on what if any charges are so-called felonies. Looking for clarification. TIA.
He was indicted for “False Business entries” when he was the President of the USA who btw… was not in charge of his business.
Even my dog sees all the holes in this indictment. They created felonies out of lemons (misdemeanors). Plus, other constitutional mishaps, Lol…
Our dog and my cat could kick their asses, they are so incompetent.
Any self respecting Democrat has to be mortified at the hijacking of their party which is now officially void of any substance or rationality. This is absurd.
When you see your enemy destroying themselves, let them go.
Did anyone else notice, in one of the press pool photos of the arraignment, the female bailiff looking over the shoulder of one of Trump’s defense attorneys, as if she was trying to read what he was writing?
A kangaroo court in a banana republic can convict anyone of anything. Doubtful that it would hold up on appeal in a nation of laws. But we have crossed the line. Meanwhile ninety nine percent of the republicans are sitting on their hands in fear of losing their uniparty donors.
I thought they were going to cry on CNN.
God Wins!
What gag?
BOTH the da and the judge should be disbarred instantly for this travesty !!!!!!!!!
The indictment fails to state a crime? Left blank so the jury could fill in…juror’s like this one?
Trump 2024,
It’s called a ‘Star Chamber’. McCarthy knows that. Such a pompous twit.
Is a bill of attainder next?
This whole fiasco is a such a farce, and we all know it.
The indictment alleges Trump did something in 2017 that affected the outcome of the 2016 election. Time travel?
The accusations people with TDS lob at Trump always seem to hinge on their belief that they can peer into Trump’s soul, read his innermost thoughts and divine his “true” motives. It’s a form of assuming the conclusion. I detect this pattern of cognition with this indictment: underneath it all, those who wrote it up simply seem to assume that Trump is just generally guilty in some kind of quasi-moral and aesthetic sense and build their “case” on that foregone conclusion. People who make arguments by starting from a conclusion often aren’t aware that they’re doing that, and they can’t understand why the arguments they come up with look so hilariously weak and stupid to those who don’t accept the foregone conclusion as a given.
Thank you for this analysis .
You are quite right!
Whatever happened to all the honorable criminals with high standards? 🙂
