In the aftermath of their assembled COVID-19 powers, the “new western democracy” is an ever-evolving phrase. This version doesn’t have any structural voting representation at the core of the word “democracy,” and is generally akin to totalitarianism with a police state to back it up.
While the United States is sending hundreds of billions to fund the new form of “western democracy” in Ukraine, the outlawing of political opposition, the shutting down of non-state-controlled media, and now the cancellation of religion has a historical rhyming to it. Leftists in the general sense are supporting these new constructs within this newly defined version of democracy, and the western corporate media seem to be subservient to the fiats.
In the latest development, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has sent the state police to shut down Metropolitan Pavel Lebed, the leader of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Pavel Lebed is now under house arrest.
Pavel’s sin against the Ukraine regime is described by Politico: “in his public speeches repeatedly insulted the religious feelings of Ukrainians, humiliated the views of believers of other denominations and tried to form hostile sentiments towards them,” said the SBU, which also published what it alleges are phone intercepts from Pavel’s sermons. He also “made statements that justified or denied the actions of the aggressor country,” according to the service.”
(Politico) – Ukrainian investigators are searching the home of Metropolitan Pavel Lebed, an Orthodox Church leader, who they accuse of justifying Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and inciting inter-religious hatred.
Ukraine’s security service (SBU) confirmed on Saturday that Pavel, who runs Ukraine’s most important monastery, the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, is suspected of violating the country’s criminal code. (read more)

History tells us that churches and organized religion are always the first targets of the totalitarian state, because they represent a unity of purpose and assembly that is not reliant on the totalitarian state. In all communist regimes, religious worship is generally banned.
As the “new western democracy” takes shape in Ukraine, a system of government supported by the U.S. government and NATO, what we see now is an outcome that is something entirely different from the traditional secular democratic norms.
In the United States there are many voices identifying how Christianity itself is under attack from the ideology of leftist government. In Ukraine those attacks are manifesting more openly as orchestrated by the state.
As we enter the most holy of Christian weeks leading up to Easter, there is a rhyming in current events.

It is highly likely that the basic reason for going after the Church is the Church’s wealth in terms of highly saleable artifacts, gold etc. In simple terms, theft for the enrichment of the SBU’s senior ranks.

Oh, yeah, I know some of that-Ezra figured out the bankers before the internet (the only reason I figured any of this out was Dr. Ron Paul and the internet). And I’ve watched watched Bill Still’s The Money Masters and he had a bunch of quotes on banking, including Lindburgh–and of course Louis McFadden (there was a good post on him at winterwatch). Aaron Russo’s America Freedom to Fascism does a good job in looking at the Federal Reserve as well as the income tax. John Titus who operates the Best Evidence y/t channel (and works with Catherine Austin Fitts) did a video (something like the NWO bankers and the American revolution), in which he read the works of monetary historian Alexander del Mar (he’s maybe from the late 1800s) and it looks like it at least goes back to the 1600s. But if you listen to Bill Still’s The Money Masters, this battle between the people and the bankers goes all the way back to Roman times. Professor Michael Parenti wrote a book about the assassination of Julius Caesar and he says he was a populist who took back control of the money from the oligarchy and then he got stabbed by the Senators who worked for the oligarchy. I used to listen to Daryl Bradford Smith’s iamthewitness radio show (shut down because no free speech in France), and he said that these banking families just move from host to host, so for a while set up in Venice (Venetian bankers) then moved to Amsterdam, and then to the City of London. The guys at American Intelligence Media thinks this goes all the way back to Babylon (William Engdahl and Joseph Farrell also think the same).
Anyway, interesting chatting with you–I truly believe that we are on the brink of enslavement because we don’t know true history. There were actually so many people who tried to warn us along the way, but we don’t really have free speech in this country, so their voices were silenced.

I would agree that most have a very limited perspective on Nazi germany but I think you missed the one on Hitler’s persecution of Christians which started immediately upon his taking the Chancellorship. That happened because Germany was a Christian country and its religious leaders were speaking against many of his policies and beliefs. He wants the US more aggressively to assert a nuclear primacy strategy against Russia., even now that US no longer has that primacy.

Yesterday as I was returning my small cart in Sprouts (a grocery store here) there was an older gentleman waiting for one.
I smiled and said good morning. And the look on his face. He walked the two steps towards me and started to speak of Jesus. We had the most wonderful conversation for about 15 minutes. His accent was foreign, but his English was conversant.
Said a little prayer that I would be able to understand him with all the air conditioning noise.
But in the end it didn’t matter. I caught enough. His face said it all, talking about Christ, and his own grandchildren and how fearful he was for them. So am I for mine.
As I was leaving, I felt the need to give him a hug, which I did. He was 74, but the strength of what he to gave back was amazing.
I can’t help think it was not serendipitous, our meeting.

I agree, wholeheartedly. Every day, signs are all around me, reminding me of the power of one’s faith. I always taught my students the real reason faith is unshakeable is because it can’t be touched, but it’s always felt, and there’s no way to measure that.
There are many empty seats in Sunday mass these days, many more than when I grew up, but I find myself heading back to the church these days, happy that there’s one less seat that needs to be filled.

We were not raised in any church.
We were in Mexico in 2019 just before the Scamdemic.
We ran into a fellow Canadian by chance who frequented the town we were staying in.
He rented a car and took us to a delightful town ( apparently the famous Eagles # Hotel California had something to do with it) Toto something or other was its name.
Our companion was Catholic and took us to this beautiful old church that was located in the town.
He was struggling with the “ demon alcohol” and the inevitable shambles that follows and was looking for comfort.
An old nun was outside chatting with individuals and the sincerity in her demeanour was captivating.
Upon entering the church one immediately felt at ease, and at peace.
The church was simple, and void of any fluff..
It was a very strange experience for me, as churches unnerve me.

We have not been back.
Others who attended with us said they have also left and we are all looking for a strong church who will STAND like we are counseled to do.

One of the reasons I left the church I was attending. Unfortunately I have not found a church with a pastor or message I can respect. I do watch one on the internet who I believe tells the truth as the Bible teaches. Far from being the “watchman on the tower” for their congregation, they don’t even know where the tower is.

The churches closed their doors because Sunday worship makes no money for them, or very little.
Most churches today make their money with their hospitals, cemeteries, and charities.
For example, the Presbyterian hospital system, the Baptist hospitals, the Catholic hospitals . . . etc . . . THAT IS WHERE the BIG money is.
So, the churches 100 % supported the covid restrictions. Their hospitals were getting lots of government money.
Unless something has changed, most of the church-affiliated hospital systems are structured as private, not-for-profit. They are constrained on the level of profit they can retain under tax laws.
Catholic hospitals are usually are charities. A lot of money rolls through them but they provide a great deal of uncompensated care. I have heard that the diocese here keeps the hospital system going at times.
“Non-profit” is based on accounting. There is plenty of money that drains off from the stated mission to support all the true wants of those doing the accounting.
That’s exactly right. I just had a Baptist healthcare system facility refuse my private insurance (because the insurance company was hard to deal with and wouldn’t pay the facility fee rate that the Baptist organization wanted) and refused to give me a quote to pay out of pocked but asked for donations to support the indigent.
And I’ve been in their system for 6 years. And, it’s in Florida.
Don’t kid yourself about the money the churches make….most of it comes from those who support all the illegal invaders …..they all have much more “stuff” than the least of our own people. Sure they do and all for free where many here can’t afford any of it for themselves.

The Presbyterians also receive enormous funding in the housing industry. Nursing homes, assisted living, and other varieties. Around here the Catholic Churches and some of the other denominations and faiths all got on the “refugee” train. Their addiction to the money is sick.

Yes, and fellowship with other Christians is actually necessary according to scripture. Hebrews 10:25 provides that Christians should be “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is.” The assembling is usually in a church building but does not have to be.
The early church did not have church buildings. Whenever Paul or other writers are talking about “the church” in the New Testament, they are never talking about a building.
One great travesty of the Christian Church in America is the disparity between what congregations put into buildings rather than missions giving. This has been an ongoing issue for us. We’ve always felt our best stewardship was managing our giving where it would do the most for the Kingdom of God. That has always been into missions and never been into building programs.
Your fellowship may not be from those you choose but it is here. It will be found where ever love of life is shared. Whether that be under the shade of a tree or the shelter of a building or in this case.. under nothing more than our own strength..
All of our Christian sacraments are PUBLIC … done with witnesses and community support; Baptism, Marriage, The Eucharist, Confirmation. … we do this with the support of our fellow Believers

This is the holiest part of the year for Christians and most gather beneath, within, under those buildings, structures, symbols and organizations in recognition and celebration of the finished work of Christ. “The deadly riot at the US Capitol bore the markings of an organized operation planned well in advance of the January 6 joint session of Congress.
A small number of cadre used the cover of a huge rally to stage its attack. Before it began, I saw from my vantage point on the West Front of the Capitol, what appeared to be four separate cells or units:
Plainclothes militants. Militant, aggressive men in Trump and MAGA gear at a front police line at the base of the temporary presidential inaugural platform;
Agents-provocateurs. Scattered groups of men exhorting the marchers to gather closely and tightly toward the center of the outside of the Capitol building and prevent them from leaving;
Fake Trump protesters. A few young men wearing Trump or MAGA hats backwards and who did not fit in with the rest of the crowd in terms of their actions and demeanor, whom I presumed to be Antifa or other leftist agitators; and
Disciplined, uniformed column of attackers. A column of organized, disciplined men, wearing similar but not identical camouflage uniforms and black gear, some with helmets and GoPro cameras or wearing subdued Punisher skull patches.

Some out-of-towners wondered why the police were there when they were all pro-police and no Antifa were present. Others said that they did see Antifa wearing backward MAGA hats, so the police must have been waiting for them. I quietly wondered why so few police were present for a crowd this or any size.
Confusion as police fire tear gas at their supporters
Then something happened at the front of the crowd, as if a champagne cork popped to release pent-up human energy. It seemed like a scuffle, but from forty feet back, I couldn’t see. People started chanting “USA, USA,” and other slogans. Some burst with streams of profanity about Biden, Pelosi, and “the steal.” For a few seconds I saw what looked like police in a tussle with some of the marchers up front – what appeared to be an organized group in civilian clothes.
This organized group are the cell I call the “plainclothes militants.” They fit right in with the MAGA people.
Suddenly energy surged from the front of the crowd as the anti-riot police, above on the inaugural platform, visibly tensed up. Some sighted their pepper ball weapons toward the densely packed people. One fired a teargas canister – not at the plainclothes militants at the front line, but into the crowd itself. Then another. Flash grenades went off in the middle of the crowd.
I had seen anti-riot police in action before. They moved with a decisive sense of purpose. Now, the Capitol Police crew seemed confused, as if without a leader or perhaps inadequate rules of engagement. These real professionals seemed directionless. Some clambered up and down the inaugural platform steps. Others milled back and forth at the swearing-in level. Most of the police ended up leaving the surreal scene. Nobody could tell why.
Pro-police people felt like they were being attacked
No bullhorn or sound system could be heard for the police to communicate with the swelling mass of people.
The tear gas changed the crowd’s demeanor. There was an air of disbelief as people realized that the police whom they supported were firing on them. “What are you doing to us – we support you,” someone yelled. Tear gas wafted through the crowd, a low-grade irritant, fortunately, as if to send a warning to disperse. But nobody could disperse; some tried to leave the area, but more kept flowing in from Constitution Avenue, making evacuation impossible.
All of a sudden, pro-police people felt that the police were attacking them, and they didn’t know why. Instead of running away, the people stood their ground. Something seemed to break loose a second time toward the front, but we couldn’t tell what it was. Younger members of the crowd climbed the scaffolding inside the north façade of the inaugural platform and waved flags from the top. The crowd cheered.
More tear gas. A canister struck a girl in the face, drawing blood. The pro-police crowd went from disbelief and confusion to anger. A few dozen members of the crowd, mostly young men, raced up a narrow path on the stone steps behind the façade and a limestone wall, facing a few police at the top who tried to stop them.
The police disappeared and a crowd surged up the stairs to the plaza at the Senate entry level. People inside the façade tore through to wave flags. As another canister of tear gas went off, a few people started pushing against the current of incoming marchers to leave the area.
Provocateurs show someone planned to turn unsuspecting marchers into an invading mob
Then, a loud, bellowing shout from behind: “Forward! Do not retreat! Forward!”
Retreat? Nobody was retreating. They were trying to escape the tear gas. But the man kept yelling not to “retreat,” as if this were a military operation. In a powerful voice he exhorted the crowd to remain on the plaza and not to disperse on the lawn or depart down the steps to the footpath. Thousands more people continued pouring in from Constitution Avenue.
Then two other men, standing across from one another on the high granite curbs on either side of the footpath, bellowed variations of, “Forward! Don’t you dare retreat!” Some made direct eye contact at people and pointed directly at them, as if trying to psyche them to submit.
Still more tear gas, this time with green or yellow smoke. I was concerned that my companion, who was recovering from a previously injured foot, might get knocked down if the people started to stampede for air. Once someone falls down in a panicked crowd, there’s a dangerous risk of getting trampled to death. I opened the way for others to exit, with other marchers lending a hand. But most of the people stood where they were as more marchers flowed up Capitol Hill.
A third man standing on a chair, also shouting “Forward,” reached down to grab me by the shoulder and barked, “Don’t retreat! Get back up there!” It wasn’t an expression of enthusiasm or solidarity; it sounded like a military order. And it wasn’t from a wild kid; this guy was probably in his 50s. He looked furious with me.
What did he care what I did? What difference would the departure of ten or even a hundred of us make, with so many more surging in. The furious man crouched down and yelled in my face: “We’re going into the Capitol!” I ignored him, broke away, and worked my way down the steps.
“What a stupid idiot,” I thought. “You can’t just walk into the Capitol anymore. Especially not today.” Bystanders helped my companion and me mount the high stone curb to the grass, where we chatted with new people we met and wondered what was happening up front.
What the barking men were doing didn’t hit me later when we found out about the attack: They appeared to be part of an organized cell of agents-provocateurs to corral people as an unwitting follow-on force behind the plainclothes militants tussling with police – but who, we would later learn, were actually breaking into the Capitol beneath the Great Rotunda to storm Congress. It was just before 3 o’clock.
These agents-provocateurs placed hundreds of unsuspecting supporters of the president in physical danger. They attempted to block exits for people seeking to escape tear gas. They endangered vulnerable people, including children, the frail, and the elderly. They funneled and pushed hundreds if not thousands of innocent people into a crush toward the Capitol. They did so with the goal of forcing those people into a confrontation with federal police defending Congress.
Surreal pandemonium
Nobody seemed aware that the Capitol was physically under attack. The tear gas caused pandemonium. But there was still no stampede, and people helped create or widen paths to allow others to leave the area. Some, seeing frail or elderly people who had a hard time standing, broke into a pallet of black folding chairs for the inauguration and distributed them. But the mood had gone from patriotic – though contemptuous of Congress – to furious.
Rumors spread. “They say they’re going into the Congress,” someone said.
“Good,” someone else said, though more as an exclamation of anger at being teargassed than anything else.
“That’s stupid. Cops will never let ‘em in,” said others, or in words to that effect.
Some blamed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for ordering the police to gas her political opponents, then wondered aloud whether she really could do that. Somebody was able to get phone reception to ask if anybody knew what was happening, but couldn’t hear because of the crowd. Texting and social media posting was almost nonexistent because of overloaded towers.
Having spent decades around the Capitol since my days as a junior Senate and House staffer, and loving the building and its history as one of our greatest national treasures, I was confident that the Capitol would remain safe. But the lack of perimeter police presence, and the confused actions of those firing tear gas, flash grenades, and pepper balls from the presidential swearing-in platform, had me thinking that something was wrong at the command level. What if someone did break into the Capitol? Not possible.
From out there on the lawn, a breakdown in police command and control was unthinkable.
By now, where we were on the Senate lawn, the mood was more like an outdoor rock concert gone out of control. Someone with a master key took control of a green cherry-picker, raising two people on the crane who took pictures and waved. Others kept people back to prevent injuries. Conscientious people looked out for the unaware or foolish. Several young people scaled the basement wall of the Senate to join people who had taken the steps to the top.
For the first time we saw a group of journalists with their cameras, computers, and transmitting gear. A few Capitol Police milled around, some winded as if they had seen action.
Uniformed, disciplined cadre assembles for attack
Then, from the north, a column of uniformed, agile younger men walked briskly, single-file, toward the inaugural stand. They came within two feet of me. The camouflage uniforms were clean, neat, and with a pattern I couldn’t identify. Some had helmets and GoPro cameras. Some uniforms bore subdued insignia, including the Punisher skull. These were the disciplined, uniformed column of attackers. I had seen them in groups of two or three among the marchers on Connecticut Avenue from the Ellipse.
Now there were a good three dozen of them, moving in a single, snakelike formation. They were organized. They were disciplined. They were prepared.
“We’re taking the Capitol!” the first or second announced.
“You’re gonna get arrested,” someone called out.
“They can arrest some of us, but not all of us,” another member of the uniformed contingent shouted to no one in particular.
A few curious younger people left their friends to follow them as the group disappeared under the scaffolding beneath the Rotunda entrance.”…….

I’ve been to Kiev Ukraine several times. 1992-2000. The Orthodox Church was strong with many believers and as much assistance and outreach “as the Government would allow”.
Christianity in Ukraine has been, is, and will be, only what the politicians allow. Been there, seen it, that’s how it is.
When a society is compelled by government to obey political ideology, Faith is a dangerous game. Let that not happen in America.
