A recent example was Venezuela, however Chavez had, at least for a time, the support of the populace. Trump can be indicted, convicted, sentenced to prison and he can still run for President, get 270 electoral votes, be sworn into office by the Chief Justice and then pardon himself as he returns to the White House.
