Interesting background stuff. The House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government has scheduled their first committee hearing for Thursday, February 9th at noon [LINK]. There are no details on the agenda for the first meeting; however, there are indications of the seed and targeting process that is being used.
According to a press announcement today from House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan, who is also the Chairman of the select subcommittee, the larger Judiciary Committee is currently taking transcribed testimony from FBI whistleblowers about the political targeting within the Dept of Justice.
Against that backdrop, it is possible -perhaps likely- the agenda for the select subcommittee will be tailored as an outcome of those whistleblower depositions. This would seem to make sense as the scope of the subcommittee needs to be narrowly tailored and focused on specific operations by government officials. Using the whistleblower testimony to frame the investigation of the subcommittee makes sense, in that the testimony creates the basis for the investigation to follow. First, here’s Jordan today:
The FBI whistleblower depositions will likely form the first material for the Select Subcommittee to discuss. This structure provides a two-prong approach toward sunlight on the larger issues at stake.
The main House Judiciary Committee has constitutional oversight over the DOJ and by consequence the FBI. The detailed discoveries are then passed down to the select subcommittee for further investigation. Hopefully, everyone can see the benefit to that approach. Judiciary holds bigger issues, then hands-off the smaller, perhaps deeper individual cases to the subcommittee for follow-up.
The newly formed House Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government has to narrow the focus and make a decision on which of the myriad of examples will best highlight the weaponization issue for the American people.
The U.S. government weaponization of the FBI is clear from the influence operations in elections, to the hiding of the Hunter Biden laptop, to the targeting of parents at school board meetings, to the entirety of what is evident in the Twitter files, domestic social media operations and even the FBI activity in the J6 events.
The FBI issues are widespread and clearly visible. However, only those who have followed the weaponization of the FBI realize the scale. To the larger U.S. electorate, the FBI targeting remains unknown because the mainstream media has buried it.
Should the FBI weaponization be the primary target of sunlight? The likely answer is yes.
In line what that approach, making first use of the FBI whistleblower testimony makes sense.
Additionally, the Democrats have now announced their NINE members for the House Select Subcommittee. They include: Ranking Member, Stacey Plaskett (VI at large); Stephen Lynch (MA 08), Linda Sanchez (CA 38), Debbie Wasserman Schultz (FL 25), Gerry Connolly (VA 11), John Garamendi (CA 08), Colin Allred (TX 32), Sylvia Garcia (TX 29) and… wait for it…. DOJ/Lawfare/Impeachment operative Dan Goldman (NY 10).
The 12 Republican members previously announced: Darrell ISSA (CA), Thomas Massie (KY), Chris Stewart (UT), Elise Stefanik (NY), Mike Johnson (LA), Chip Roy (TX), Kelly Armstrong (ND), Greg Steube (FL), Dan Bishop (NC), Kat Cammack (FL) and Harriet Hageman (WY).

If you want whistleblowers to come forward, they need whistle blower protection.
In theory whistleblowers have protection against retaliation. In reality, they don’t. Unless they want to hire a $400 an hour labor attorney and bring their case before the MSPB (Merit Systems Protection Board), then wait a year or two until their case is heard. Then they will lose, almost always. Even winning is not really a win. No punitive damages, only backpay (if terminated) and reasonable attorney fees.
If there is any hint of retaliation, Jordan needs a specific hearing on that retaliation, and contrasting that retaliation with how Vindman and Ciaramella were treated.

Wonder if the subcommittee will have Mike Benz testify before the hearing; Epoch Times had a pretty good 2-part interview of him on their American Thought Leaders show and he does a pretty good job showing how our nation got to this point of having its institutional focus pivot from possible foreign enemies inward against the American citizen.

Lock people into their sworn statements first, and then use any relevant documents, tapes, etc for confirmation of truth/lies? Makes sense. And I can’t remember the guy’s name, but it wasn’t too long ago that someone suggested the committees use just that precise tactic. Someone here in the Treehouse I believe…. sure wish I could remember who that was.

I was half listening to the radio today and heard subpoenas had been issued to Garland, Wray and someone else by Jordan.
Why would it take a subpoena?
I say use any FBI tactics against them. Get the truth on record, then call them in to testify. Multiple times if necessary so as to cement any “lying to Congress” charge possible.

imagine if the committee just released the complete transcripts of these witness depositions….as soon as they take place.
is there a risk…yes…but that risk is also present with a credibility problem. If a committee is not aware of just how important IT IS to inform the public about the evidence of these TREASONOUS crimes….then the result will be dull, impotent and remain fixed in the mire of just more DC Swamp shithole.

So as to not compromise their investigation. Sources and methods.
It depends. If the witness agrees to not hide behind such redactions, would be best. Imagine a witness that can go live in front of the American people ON CSPAN. and any of the main stream media and alt new sites and discuss exactly what crimes they can corroborate?
I agree with some redactions as to protect the innocent as well as some redactions to preserve sources ..but this is a very fine line to thread…if you even as much PERCEIVE to be hiding something that does not support the entire truth…it will be mincemeat and get knocked down.
We need a completely different KIND of investigation that is two pronged.
full sunlight with ALL THE RECEIPTS…this satisfies the interests of maintaining integrity about the committee…the good, the bad, and the ugly.
then a INDEPENDENT COUNSEL who can operate formed by Congress but not controlled in it’s work by congress…a truly difficult maneuver that has not been attempted since Ken Starr/clinton.

Congress has the power of the purse so this must not go forward… all kabuki theatre at taxpayer expense. The 2022 election was manufactured to insure that the dems controlled the senate. DOJ/FBI will continue the 2-tier injustice game so no one will b indicted and no impeachments mean no accountability.

If they don’t deepdive into the hiring processes then they won’t get to the bottom of any issues… What the left does very well and we do very poorly is hiring to support the agenda… You don’t get an organization like the FBI is today without hiring to create the organization you want… Don’t micro focus, look at the overall hiring for the institution and correct that first…
