Apparently, the Chinese surveillance airship has been taken out of commission inside the 12-mile range of U.S. territorial waters on the South Carolina Atlantic coast.
Delivering remarks to the press pool, Joe Biden confirmed the Chinese dirigible was taken down. According to his statement, Biden ordered the airship to be shot down last Wednesday (lol sure), but the military advised him to wait until it crossed the U.S. and could be taken down over water.
Several U.S. jet fighters were seen circling the coastline, and the FAA had shut down the airspace above the Atlantic near Myrtle Beach prior to the operation to remove or destroy the surveillance airship.
So… they let this thing transmit all the Ground Data that was desired -then they take it down? THEY must think we are all really stupid. (Maybe they’re right.) “Our?” Military authoritys are either complete Morons or Treasonous AH/s for hire… Either way one can only shake one’s head in disgust.

payload – it is not possible to know exactly what this balloon carries. at high altitude the debris field would be enormous. So it’s best to take it our over the water far away from land and people.
intel gathering – often the best method in counter intel is to allow your enemy “to believe” it is acting covertly. Observation provides a glimpse into capabilities. You notice certain transmission freqs, WHEN that happens and over what, encryption and the use of intermediate satellite communication relays. This is similar to how a scout is used on the battle field. learn how your enemy operates. Not so fun fact: Japan landed a radio man on Oahu 8 months before the bombing of pearl harbor. His task was to radio intelligence gathered about fleet movement, yard schedules, and flight schedules. He remained hidden in north oahu for over 50 years AFTER the war was over. He had orders and he followed them. No word ever arrived that the war was over. He continued and remained in hiding long after his radio equipment failed. Yes, there is a political element involved, but necessary. You begin to tear into CCP over a long period and continue to garner global allies interests. You shoot it down before and too soon and you lose the leverage. it’s just that simple.

By delaying action, the US military can present the illusion of some kind of weakness giving the CCP the notion that their mission was successful. As one former General pointed out on today’s Roundtable you tube livestream of their twitter spaces conversation on this topic of the US shooting down the Chinese balloon (in the last 30 minutes of the 4 hour livestream), regardless of the reason or purpose of the balloon, one of the benefits for the Chinese government is the growing distrust and dislike of the US military capability and it’s leaders by the American citizens due to their obvious showing of weakness when our borders are invaded by another nation.
The entire conversation was riveting, speakers from all viewpoints joining in.
But that retired General was correct, China’s actions have systematically been effective in having citizens lose faith in their governing agencies and professions, whether FDA, DOJ, FBI, all three branches, medical professionals, educators, it’s as if every event gets Americans one step closer to distrusting, hating even, every aspect that held society together. That is, softening the enemy so to speak.
The balloons, as it now comes out this has happened many times, are just the latest pinprick in societies faith in those sent to DC to govern.

There’s no fire, no light. Just a big blow out of white stuff. About a millisecond after the payload comes off.

Prevailing winds would almost always be towards the ocean from N. Myrtle Beach, and a NOTAM zone was established ahead of time, meaning whatever fell, didn’t fall on unprotected humans.

So it looks like they did use a laser, note no missile trajectory can be seen. The sun is from upper right (note shadow on balloon at beginning.) There is a flash of light between 3 and 4 seconds on the underside of the balloon, another flash between 5 and 6 seconds on the falling payload, and again on the payload at the very end of 9 seconds and into 10 seconds. I doubt the light on the falling payload is sun glint due to the position of the sun, although glint off the falling antenna arrays could be possible. If the laser was from a ship underneath, I guess the Chi-coms can now figure out the range of our lasers. I would have preferred to keep them in the dark. At best, it should make the Chi-coms a little concerned about a drone strategy against Taiwan.

Fox News reported the F22 raptor used a sidewinder missile to shoot the balloon down. The sidewinder is a heat seeking missile. What was the heat source it locked on to? The balloon didn’t have an engine nor was it hot air. It was a helium balloon.

The problem is that we really don’t know that the balloon was a Chinese Spy balloon. Just because the gov’t is telling us it is raises a big red flag – just like the virus flag.

So, now that the Chicom balloon has finally been brought down, the news is reported that a proper “salvage vessel” may not be on site for “days.”
Does anyone believe the US will recover anything worthwhile? 50 feet of salt water probably does some serious damage to sensitive electronics in hours, if not minutes.

Depends on the way the electronics package was built. If they had everything in water tight containers to prevent condensation build up due to altitude changes, then they could be salvageable.

Norfolk, VA Beach is not in the no fly zone yet that airship certainly has pictures of every base, every runway, every ship, all dry docks, subs. Newport News, Hampton Roads, Portsmouth Naval Shipyards (is now hiring) a huge area of military even today.

This is rather weird. We have a small Coast Guard contingent on Caswell Beach, NC (not far from where the balloon was shot down.) Why can’t divers get down there from Coast Guard boats? Are the balloon remnants too heavy to bring up without certain equipment? Otherwise, I believe this is BS. Why would China have ships in position to get the remnants, but not us!? Yes, many questions, but these are same people who are allowing our border to be wide open and our cash and military equipment to be sold to bad actors in Afghanistan and Ukraine.
Last time we had so much attention to weather balloons was a place called Roswell

We were never supposed to know there was a balloon in the sky. Only after it was reported by a civilian and the American citizens found out about it, started asking questions, was anything done.

If they could shoot it out of the sky within the 12 miles of territorial waters off the East coast, they could have shot it when it entered US territory over the west coast. They tracked the damned thing all the way across the Pacific…. plenty of wide open waters into which they could have/should have dropped it.

I have a genie and fuels of various types, but, the truth is that preparing for an EMP is beyond most people’s prep capacity. Industrial strength generators take years to build. Meanwhile, very few have a way to generate power for that length of time using any fuel. Plus, with the power out most cities lose sanitation and water.
I can live a few months without electricity using the generator, camp stove, solar lights, septic. But that would be like the dark ages for this avid PC, washer, dryer, AC, microwave and air fryer user. Oh, and I love hot showers and my hot water is electric. All of these preps simply allow one to figure out a longer term solution. There is plenty of wood around me, but drying it would be a big problem, although I’m sure the pine needles and cones can power a cinder block rocket stove for a while.
Any EMP that took out a large swath of CONUS would be a death sentence for most in that area. There simply is not sufficient energy capacity for the needs of that many people.

Folks, I was upstairs in my Myrtle Beach home standing up, walking around, then BOOM!!! The house shook and I almost lost my balance!!! I ran downstairs to ask my husband “WHAT WAS THAT!” and he said it sounded like a sonic boom.
I opened Twitter and realized what had happened. We live minutes from where the jets took off and from where the balloon was shot down! It was really loud, even the dog started barking!
First, the Chinese admitted it was their balloon.
Second, it was NOT the first Chinese balloon flyover of the USA.
Third, you cannot believe a word out of the White House or the Pentagon. Biden said the military “advised” not to shoot it down. Biden is obviously not the real President. He is taking orders from these traitors. Biden does not have take their advice if he is actually in charge. The tail is wagging the dog.
That general who advised Americans to just “watch the sky” insulted the intelligence of all of us. He also stated the military did not view the balloon as a threat. That is absolute BS. The military has no way of knowing what is suspended from that balloon. It could be carrying a nuclear weapon.
I disagree with trusting the military. The people in charge at the Pentagon know Biden is a fraud, was not elected and is not really in charge. The brass in the Pentagon are traitors to the United States – they are in on the gigantic fraud and know Joe Biden lacks the mental capacity to decide these matters. He has advanced dementia. The entire world can see that.
Also, they dropped the balloon in the ocean after it crossed the entire USA. Why? They don’t want any Americans on land getting their hands on the remains to reveal anything technical about the balloon.

I like how Joe waited until the balloon had finished its mission before ordering it shot down over the ocean where it’s unlikely to be recovered.

So far all we’ve got on this balloon is the distant photos of it. Wondering if the delay in dropping it until it was over water was to prevent any civilian from being the first to locate any of the wreckage and having a chance to examine this thing up close.
Could there be some money to be made selling off parts and pieces of that thing as souvenirs?
