More interesting for me: they went after PDJT for improper classified material handling. Obviously, that was never done with any kind of rigor (since 2017!). Inevitably, it raises an even more serious concern – what else are they not complying with? Where else is there the same carelessness/arrogance? Were I presently in the military or law enforcement, I’m seriously considering separating at the first opportunity. I think the documents were discovered during Hunter Biden investigation. Then negotiated with Joe and lawyers to look to see if there were any more. They had no choice because a lot of people knew, so moved from Hunter to a new investigation under Biden for ‘mishandling of classified documents’ so easier to cover up, instead of more nefarious crimes of treason for influence peddling and selling secrets to foreign countries!

Nunes on TV this morning hypothesizing the pressure to release info on Biden’s classified file holdings ultimately came from National Archives (NA) based on Republican takeover of Congress and promised investigations. The ancillary point he made was the NA also likely had records on all the files (i.e., a deliberate coverup).
Durlng the Trump thing, I was given to understand that the originating agency knows how many copies exist of classified info the generate and who has them.
That’s how NARA knew Trump still had stuff.

The standard the NA applies for accountability has been noticeably varied over time. In my experience in the military, classified material handling inspections and accountability was rigorous. Careers cratered on unintentional mistakes. There appears to be a whole different standard for the political branch of state.
I don’t think there was any “pressure” here. The goal was to block Republicans from investigating ANYTHING. Special counsel comes in, sweeps everything up and says all the docs are part of his “ongoing investigation”…..one that will ultimately be considered “no reasonable prosecutor” stuff.
IMHO, this isn’t a shot at compromising Biden, its another page of the “lawfare” book on how to game the investigation process.

I doubt they are taking Biden to the woodchop. Carlson seems to assume Biden won legitimately (“DOJ kept the information from voters” or something similar). Biden was appointed for 2020 by the Dark forces and he would have to be appointed just the same for 2024. Bide is there for the ride (Ice Cream, etc), and so is Kamala.

When stuff has been lying around for six years, and now it suddenly turns up in your garage – “looky! there’s a picture!” – then “it smells like a set-up.” I’m certainly no fan of Joe, but this feels like something that couldn’t actually happen. If you knew that these were classified, top-grade materials, then you would … y’know … put them in a closet and put a padlock on the door. 🤡 And you wouldn’t conceal from anyone the fact that they were there – unless it was illegal for them to be there.
Of course, Donald Trump should now demand that all of the classified materials which he lawfully kept should be returned to him, because the FBI agents aren’t cleared to see it anyway. He still has the highest possible security clearance, entitling him to possess the materials forever even if still classified, and he had the plenary power to declassify. (Literally, “if he says he did, then he just did, by saying it.”) It is impossible for a President or Former President – “The Executive Branch” – to “break the law” concerning classified materials.
Vice-President Biden, on the other hand, very simply broke the law because he has no such prerogatives. The only way to get him off is for Obama to declare that he had declassified them – but this necessarily means that Obama admits to knowing that they were there, within sight of Chinese spies, and so on. Which he very likely will not do: “Joe Biden f&cked things up just one time too many.”
Still, “even though it’s Joe,” this is a crappy way to frame a man. And right now I think he has indeed been framed. If you want to get rid of the old man, just arrange for him to die in his sleep. PROPERLY copied classified dox are marked, recorded, tracked and collected when recipients are done with them–according to a military officer cleared to receive & read classified dox.
