What will the average American think about Republicans TRYING to get rid of 87,000 IRS agents and the Democrats stopping them? I say it’s a good thing for average Americans to hear. Many, many Americans live in fear of the IRS.
I have a family member who was audited about 7 years ago. TWO IRS AGENTS only found that the parents took the college student credit in error. When all was said and done, the parents had to pay $300 and their college student received a $300 tax credit. Hey, at least it kept 2 people off the unemployment rolls!

I understand the strong desire to be supportive and positive at this point in order to get this movement off the ground. That attitude is laudable and we should strive to all get on that same track as soon as possible.
However, at this point I believe strong cynicism is fully justified based on not just recent history but lengthy history. For many decades we have all seen, heard, and read many promises, many flowery statements, only to see nothing happen of any substance following those statements. And we’ve seen this occur from all sides of the aisle.
So I think we can tolerate a little temporary cynicism in the Treehouse because if those politicians making these pledges turn them into real substantive actions, that will change the minds of most cynics.

Wasn’t the funding of the added IRS agents included in the massive bill already passed (and signed)?
It was. As I said a couple days ago, all Congress can do is write new laws to change, repeal or amend ones that are already passed and signed. That, and the odd court challenge or two.
Most bills from this new House that try to change things too much will just be negated by the Dem-majority Senate. Impeachments would be pointless for the same reason. Even McConnell can’t stop the effect of an opposing vote along party lines. The only new laws passed will be bipartisan pork like infrastructure and naming Post Offices. The remaining actions will be Executive Orders, rescindable by the next president.
It’s just reality during periods of divided government. Been seeing it go on all my life. One step forward, two steps back. They can do investigations and try to make points with the public, but if they make referrals to the DOJ, would you expect them to go anywhere?

The rules changes were significant and frankly quite remarkable, and those that made that happen are expressing their commitment to things we should all cheer. We have leaders in the fight now in a way we haven’t seen perhaps in our own lifetimes, it’s quite remarkable.

I’m in Australia, and I remember many many years ago my dad was telling me about some politicians (I can’t now remember who it was). But he said that one of them would take the people with them – meaning that the politician spoke a lot before, during and after implementation. Explained everything and won people over on the topics. Then another politician did not take the people with them, and was quickly voted out.
So long as these politicians carry through with their promises, I think it’s better if they talk about it all along the way, too.

But NOW he is going to support the release of the videos that will surely demonstrate both leaders attempted misdirection of the TRUTH by quickly blaming PRESIDENT TRUMP for the government orchestrated attack on the peaceful protesters who were just asking those in charge to take a few days before accepting some of the state’s certification (at the request of several of the state’s themselves) to LOOK at the massive amount of questionable events (FRAUD) both before and after the election that led to biteme’s laughable claim of victory in November.

tbh, first time watching the charlie kirk show. smart, clued up, and a great listener. And it would appear this is a live show…applause on that. (get tiring to watch the obvious edits on the so called live shows for main stream maniacs). and very few comm breaks…what a pleasure to see guests on who can work through a complete thought and explaino with those interruption.

Unfortunately, the only ones who are going to pour over this new bonanza are those people that already know the truth. It seems a big chunk of American society could care less about the truth and certainly can’t be bothered by events that took place more than 2 years ago. They have already made up their minds that Donald Trump is an evil bastard and they consider those that trumpet the truth are conspiracy theorists.
I wish that wasn’t the case, and I will be ecstatic to be proven wrong. I guess that only leaves us that know the truth to do something about the problem, and I don’t mean vote for some more RINOs.

The LA Times said “J6 committee work product”.
The tapes Gaetz is seemingly referencing are not a work product, they are the raw footage from the cctv cameras installed all around the Capitol, hence the thousands of hours of footage.
And of course the LA Times is a good source for insight into a conservative’s action /s

The LA Times article doesn’t use the phrase “work product”, it just says “work”.
The article starts off by stating that the final report is “not likely to include all of the EVIDENCE THE PANEL COLLECTED in its 18 month investigation”. That collected evidence would, of course, include the 14,000 hours of tape and material Gaetz talks about, wouldn’t it?
The article goes on to say that there’s a “minimum two-decade timeline before the public can see records that are preserved. That means that potentially millions of pages of depositions, cellphone and text records, emails, staff notes and analysis by outside organizations compiled as part of the committee’s investigation that don’t make it into the official final report or aren’t released before the end of the year won’t become public for decades — if they ever do at all.”
So … how is Gaetz going to get around this or is the LA Times just wrong? Wouldn’t be the first time, I know, but I’ve heard grandstanding promises by people calling themselves Republicans before. Why the grandstanding? If Gaetz has the tapes and can do this, why not just DO IT? Call me suspicious.
There were young fairly new podcasters drawing in over a million viewers for the entirety of the four days of voting on the house floor last week.
Not to mention all the others covering the proceedings.
Why?
Because it is the first ray of hope that felt real and even exciting after the horror of the past two years.
Upon President Trump leaving the White House under such treacherous conditions- a great depression fell over America.
We didn’t have him–or our vote any longer.
So to see 20 brave souls actually truly fighting for the American people–
Refusing to back down no matter what was thrown at them–
Well, for me I got tearful–
as I have been around long enough to know how far we have fallen
and how apathetic and numb the heart of America has become.
What happened to our fight?
What happened to our passion?
What happened to our love of freedom?
Yet I believe we may be at a moment in time where something new and real and exciting may actually be happening–
in of all places–
the US House of Representatives.
May it so be.

The Speaker’s office runs the Capitol building administration and is also in charge of security. It’s up to McCarthy now…and we can all see it. I have no doubt in part this is what the change to the motion to vacate was intended to force.
