The House is scheduled to begin the effort for the installation of California Representative Kevin McCarthy at 10:00pm ET. It is unknown whether the 14th ballot effort will succeed or exactly how many representatives are still in DC for the activity. The livestream is below:
UPDATE:
- Round 14 fails for McCarthy by one vote. 232 votes cast. McCarthy got 216 – one vote short of majority.
- Representative Mike Rogers (AL) tried to fight Matt Gaetz and had to be restrained. (LINK)
- GOP tried to adjourn. Voice vote failed and failed counting of yeas and nays. House cannot adjourn.
- Republicans now go for round #15

I don’t know why, but I feel I am an owed an explanation from each representative of why they voted the way they did and what made the hold outs change their vote.
Was it a political concession from McCarthy? Were political spoils offered? Or was it threats from McCarthy? Constituants? 3rd parties/lobbyists/IntelAgency? And did the representative have any handle on what their constituants wanted?
Or do constituants only sway representatives during election time?
In a most of these situations I understand why reps would keep the cards close, but our media should be grilling the politicians for us.
I personally wanted Kevo out, but if my rep wrangled a concession, I would recognize the political sausage making and be understanding. (She didn’t- Nancy Mace is a rino, she loves her political power and money and she detests her constituants.)
I voted and $ contributed to MTG for Con-gress. She “tweeted” after McDonald won the Farm House porch chair, that the 47,000 new IRS goons would be “repealed”.
Anyone can tell me “How”??? with Scummer & McCuckold controlling the Senate, and the Coup Resident in the WH???
This is Such a Farce!!! Welcome to the USSA, Comrades.

Maybe MayTaG is gonna use some Kamala Hummer Harris Fu on McCarthy’s Willy Brown, and get lotsa repealing done?
I viewed this live last night and left as soon as the vote was cancelled and watched Speaker McCarthy’s speech today on the video Sundance provided.
Over all, I’m pleased with the outcome and the fight put up by Gaetz, Biggs, Boebert, etc. They kept their word, they didn’t vote for McCarthy although the 15th vote was ridiculous with Bigg’s vote.
Let’s not shoot our wounded (as us Christians like to do) and give the Rinos an opportunity to deliver their promises. The Dems will remain in total opposition at every policy with the media in lockstep.
Pray we don’t return to the pitiful Boehner (“We’re only 1/3 of the government, there is nothing we can do.”) regime.
Strike cancelled and add completed.
I know he doesn’t, but ole happy ass McCarthy had better realize that those 20 hold outs are the kind of people that 79 milli0n MAGA voters will be voting for in the future. Hope to see him gone the next time he comes up for re-election.
