The eleventh round of votes for a House Speaker ended the same way as the ten before it.
Ballot round #11 fails. No majority speaker elected.
Rather than attempting to continue voting amid a landscape of futility, and without Kevin McCarthy accepting defeat in his life quest to be Speaker of The House, the chamber voted to adjourn.
Initially a voice vote on the adjournment failed, the democrats won and wanted to force the republicans to continue. However, an electronic accounting of the yeas and nays resulted in a majority decision to adjourn until noon tomorrow, Friday, January 6th.
The backroom bartering and negotiations will now commence; drinks will be had, promises will be made, votes will be purchased, and perhaps a successful path toward a republican speaker will be found. On the upside, for the past three days no taxpayer monies have been spent.

For all I admire about Trump, he does a lousy job of appointing and delegating. His committee appointmemnts would be based, if the past is any indication, on who says they like him and feigns loyalty to him. He bypassed capable people based on this criteria, put the wrong people in charge in high places, and caused uproar to his and the nation’s detriment continually while in office. His endorsement of the fawning carpetbagger Turk, Dr. Oz, for a seat a courageous and viable woman candidate could have won, shows he’s still at it – and I fear he will never learn.

Matt Gaetz nailed it when he said McCarthy is a conduit for the lobbyists. That is the case for the vast majority of politicians, both Democrat and Republican. No legislation is written by those responsible for creating it; all bills are written by lobbyists and other special interest groups. The politicians who support it are paid by the lobbyists and special interests to drive their bills through congress. This is how politicians can get wealthy on a six-figure salary. Maybe one day people will realize this and rise up to put a stop to the madness.

This has been a GREAT educational experience for me. I had no idea at how ugly and non-representative this body of Congress actually is.
It is quite apparent to me at this point that Kevin McCarthy is the same as Mitch McConnell, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer. Birds of a feather, except the RINO’s use their “negotiating power” to give away everything that we the people want, and use it to garner money and power for themselves.
President Trump was right.
After thinking about President Trump becoming Speaker, I believe it could be the best thing to happen to DC, much like his Presidency was. It would cause the corrupt evil-doers to expose themselves (as the 200 have with voting for McCarthy), and in 100 days, he could demonstrate to the nation just how the House should be run.
