Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Excellent quotes.
In this Korean time travel drama, the hero, a Joseon acupuncturist, moves between the Joseon period and modern times whenever he’s killed. And on one occasion, his love can’t reach him and is left behind in Joseon times as he’s transported to modern times. So there’s only one way for him to get back to her quickly. Yep.
Live Up to your Name – Pins and Needles In My Heart – Hank Williams, Sr
Smallville – Song for a Winters Night – Sarah McLachlan – Clark Kent’s father, Jonathan Kent
Sarah’s voice always transports . . . Thanks for posting this, love . . . 🙂
When I first made it, I played it over and over and over and over again. I’ve done a bunch of hers. Forgiveness, Bring on the Wonder, I will Remember You, Wintersong, Song for a Winter’s Night, In the Bleak Mid-Winter, Hold On, Angel. Love her voice. A warm and toasty morning, Garrison. Supposed to be 19 degrees here tonight.
Not quite that cold here in Texas but there is a good sippin’ whisky chill . . .
It’s nights like these that always remind me of my father’s stories of ‘coon hunting with hounds . . . sitting around a fire in the deep woods of Hickory Nut Mountain, sippin’ some locally made ‘shine with good friends, listening to the baying hounds doing all the work. In the 20’s when rural poverty was deep, Racoon meat was a food source. My dad was a substance hunter, helping to keep his family fed. As long as he lived, he always killed animals for food and never ever just for sport. He was contemptuous of trophy hunters. He said that Racoon meat tasted like chicken. ‘Possum, on the other hand, was greasy.
My brother hunted for food, then switched to photography hunting. I, on the other hand, dreamed of becoming a vegetarian. I tried twice. First time I lost it on a hotdog. Last time I just lost it. So I pretend I’m eating non-sentient beings and cheer on the development of pseudo-meats. My current night visitors are just two young raccoons. The litter of 5 seems to have disappeared. Perhaps reduced. Perhaps this is the second litter that just had 2. They get my food but not my heart. My heart was given to a baby a few years ago with a crooked smile. I’d lean down from the window and drop bologna into his outstretched paws. He disappeared one day. The possum is skittish. When I open the window, he heads for the hills and waits me out watching for him to return for dinner. The foxes and the groundhog haven’t shown up recently. They worry me, too. The skunks arrive endlessly. But pure white and huge is worth it.
I have spent one night, count them, in the wilds of upper Maine, in bear country, wide awake while mother slept peacefully in our tent. TERRIFIED of being there and WAITING to go home. Camp stories would NOT have been big on my wish list that night. And looking back from the perspective of one of the stories I collected while researching grandfather, I WAS RIGHT!!!!!! I still don’t know if the Old Plainsman was grandfather writing under a pseudonym about one of his hunting trips, or a friend of his from the mining town. It was clearly a world of men who bonded under the stars.

Henry was a devout Dutch Reform member, whose brother John Henry was a famous theologian and the president of Rutgers. It was John Henry who had brought the Dutch and American branches of that church together. Henry’s father-in-law was a theologian and minister in Stamford CT, and a Yale Tutor. Their great-great grandfather John was a rebellious minister who had escaped from Scotland, where he had interviewed King Charles, to Holland, in the hope of religious freedom. All of John’s male ancestors were Scottish ministers.

I love doing songs for friends, and this song was made to the video Tricia shot of her father and his garden. He was a lovely man. Navy.
Garden Song – Tricia’s Father – David Mallett
Love this one! Any veteran video of the good ol’ days in the homelife are so wonderful! Great that she had the footage from back then in the garden!
She didn’t. I sent her out with my camera and directions on how to tape him and what he should be doing. Did the same thing with my boyfriend before husband. He had just had his first baby and I had him changing the infant’s clothes frequently to get enough variation in the clips. So very glad we did that.
I inherited the family photos, but people just don’t sit down to hear family history. Or, if they do, they forget immediately. I did. So I make small videos of current life or of the life of family now gone because I don’t want to forget. And those memories need to be passed on in the small chunks that people ARE willing to sit through. I’ve tried for years to teach people to make these for daily life, rather than just for TV shows, but it’s a hard row to hoe.
Vincent, Joan and Baby Michael – Feeling Groovy – Simon and Garfunkel – 1987
As we have grown into an increasingly in-the-moment culture we have sadly lost our respect for and need of oral tradition and lore. Even friends from my generation (I’m really old) become impatient when I repeat stories about my late wife. Of course I’m repeating old stories—that is what lore is. It saddens me that they just don’t understand. 🙂
Maybe it’s Texas, but I come from a storytelling family tradition. My earliest memories are sitting on grandfather’s lap as he told me stories of his early career. But I also remember that mother’s stories changed over the years. So that I learned to distrust the oral aspect of storytelling and believe it was important to permanently record the history. Unfortunately, I didn’t learn this early enough, so I only have one recording of mother. But I’m now passionate about teaching people how to do “interviews” so that they get the most stories set in concrete.
I know it’s uncomfortable for the person being recorded. I fight husband continuously to get his memories of his early computer work. And I’m being interviewed over the next month for my music video work, and not looking forward to it. But I’m doing it. Because history shouldn’t get lost. Or abused, as the new historians do. And really good things can come out of interviews. Long ago and far away I was on the team competing to design the American Department of Defense language. (We came in 2nd. The French won.) While at a get-together, I was chatting to Colonel Whitaker about his early role. He looked around the room and said that he thought his part would be forgotten. When the Time/Life book was being created, I was the consultant and went to Maryland to be interviewed. And I went into every minute detail of Bill’s part in the project that became Ada. When the book arrived in my hands, I went thru the index, found all my contributions, and called Bill to read them to him. And said, “And now you’ll never be forgotten!”
Write down the stories of your wife! Don’t let them be forgotten by the future!

Leon, you are outdoing yourself of late.
Always the first post I check, looking for my daily cat pic!
Our black cat “Aces” likes to join me for my Bible study in the early am, jumping up on my lap and making me rearrange my study materials, but only for a few minutes. Our grey Siamese “Zellie” picked me as her person, first time ever for me! She’s taken to joining me most mornings, resting on my desk as I work.
Good morning, Leon.

Morning Ya’ll 🙂
Grew up in Chattanooga TN during the 60s. Check out the local radio station rock and roll shows and who played on the same stage, same night. I have ticket stub from August 1967 concert.

Flyover, any insight as to the area these days?
We are possibly looking into moving from out of state to the eastern ‘nooga area… cleveland up to athens, along there on the east side of I-75.
It is a remote chance that we’d up and move, but, I have been looking at realtor dot com.
I hate to say, but after the heavy hits to our state (MI) in the midterm ballot contest, it is something we are considering.
thank you for any local insight you may have these days!
Every journey starts with a first step, Slowcobra. It sounds as if you are taking it. An unadventerous Texas girl who hated new things because it took her out of her comfort zone ended up one day in another country for many many of the happiest years of her life..
You just never know.😘
“unadventurous”…of course.
Thanks betsy… that is true, you just never know.
the real estate market is plummeting, and will do so more quickly now, post-ballot contest.
MI legislature plus SoS, Govr, lt govr, AG… all went to the dark side. Legislature for the first time in over 40yrs if I remember correctly.
Gateway had a great article on MI yesterday , inc. betsy devos taking down MI as a rino, and Pres Trump backstabber.
It has been a slow motion tragedy watching it happen, Slowcobra. And the utter frustration waking up every day knowing there is absolutely nothing you can do to fix it I know is soul crushing. As a result of the economic machinations ongoing, everyone suffers.
They want equality?? Well, they have it. Equality of misery…I am as sorry as I can be for the share which has been allotted to you and your family. I guess the thing is to prepare as best as you can with research into other states, realtor (as you say you’re doing), etc…so when/if the portents are propitious for a move, you’re are that much ahead. Hoping for the absolute best for you…and really for us all.😘
Therein lies the semantic “rub”. They don’t want “equality” which is equal opportunities for everyone… what they want is “equity”… equal OUTCOMES for everyone, regardless of talent or effort or circumstance.
This is the truth, benzy. A sickening ideology which has never worked. Cream always rises to the top. Nothing anyone can do stop it. As surely the purveyors of this evil will eventually be made to understand.
Hi, Bet. Advice from a very wealthy friend . . . “I can take your money and make more money with it—but you can’t. Stay in cash.” Good advice. House is paid for. No outstanding debt. I like my neighborhood. I can just hunker down. I do think I’ll buy some more 9mm however.
Same, same, same here, Garrison…all three the same for us.
Having been in a terrible financial situation at one time during a circumstance change, we vowed that should we ever crawl out of it, which we did, those would be our aims. Burned once in the market solidified our positions. And so while we were financially repressed because of the shrinking of interests rates, otherwise known as the honest cost of money, we have never wavered, cutting our cloth to our circumstances. And as our “seed corn” as we call it, has shrunk, there is nothing which could induce us to enter the market casino again.
Have we “missed out”? Most certainly. But what price a good night’s sleep?
I am in complete agreement with you, my friend.
Wow. Everyone went dark. Out of all 50 governors, Whitmer is truly the most evil, wicked, and dictatorial.
How on earth do you choose from so many cut from the same cloth?
🇺🇸👍🏻🇺🇸
Morning jay!
Howdy Gramps 🇺🇸😁🇺🇸
Morning, Mr jay….now we’re talking my world long ago. Wasn’t it just yesterday?? I’ve blinked…it’s gone.🤗
Maidin Mhaith Betsy time sure fly’s 🇺🇸🙏🏻🇺🇸
It does…if I say “the other day”, it could mean anything from two days ago to two decades ago. 😉
A while back is mine😁😂
Tee hee…works for me as well.
I agree…and that yesterday…a blink of an eye…the things I did not do…many regrets…many joys…and oh yes, I took the blows….
Funny…I was just thinking of that one, Aggiegirl. A song sung so often I got tired of it. But who can’t relate to the most poignant line “Regrets? I’ve had a few…” That one cuts very deep. I’m glad you posted this.😘
Living life our way is antithetical to Christ’s commandments. You can almost be sure Frank’s name is not in the book of life and his eternal destination is the lake of fire.
All who die before the tribulation will be raised after the 1,000 year millennium (Rev 11:5, 11-13)
They will be judged by two things. What they did in this life. Whether their name’s in the book of life or not (Rev 11:12, 15).
I grew up mid 50s-late 60s. Love the Rat Pack movies. Sammy Davis Jr is one of the most talented entertainers in the last century. Red Skelton, Laugh In, Honeymooners, Sid Ceaser, et al; were also great entertainers. None compare today.
Even so, living life their way will not get them into the Kingdom of God. His word is absolute on two things. Everyone who meets not the first condition, also meets not the second condition:
“If you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you shall be saved.” (Rom 10:9)
“And whosoever was not found in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” (Rev 11:15)
I wish many things for my children’s children.
Earthly wealth is not one of them, but rather wisdom and contentment, being only two…two which the world cannot give them. I have told them this many many times during our school run times. I am praying this, from my heart to theirs, has germinated and will serve them well.
One more . . .
The Linda Ronstadt version is excellent!
I remember a night from long ago in northern Quebec, walking over a white field of untouched snow, under a huge moon and infinitude of brilliant stars …
A massive WOW! That sent shivers down my back. There are moments that you know, while they’re happening, are precious and will be with you all your life. That must have been one.
I spent a year of my life living in microfilm of the late 1700’s/early 1800’s, imagining the world of Henry Livingston, whose farm still exists in New York state. And you draw me right back into

Good morning, Mary. She had one of those voices which was perfect for music of this time.
I’m afraid of airplanes, so my business trips cross country, maybe 3x/year, were always made by train. I can still remember sitting alone in the compartment playing Linda Ronstadt continuously for 2 1/2 days. A bright, Good Morning, Betsy. Betting this will be an excellent day!
Journeys by train used to be something to look forward to. I’m thinking the Orient Express. My only train journey in this country to Chicago when I was ended up with a derailment, our car being one. No one injured, but so exciting for an 8 year old. My 6 year old sister was sitting on the loo, and was unceremoniously hurled off to the other side of our compartment. Quite an experience for us all.
In Britain, train journeys are much more everyday occurrences. The scenery alone is worth taking one.
In Llangollen, Wales, a town we lived near and where we worked, we had steam trains which would offer short journeys through the stunning countryside there, in and amongst the hills and valleys. Some would offer lunch as an attraction. And at Christmas, the steam locomotive would be “dressed up” as Thomas the Tank” for what were called “Santa Weekends”. Llangollen was only a small town, but those weekends were always oversubscribed, with children and their families from all over eagerly looking forward to them.
Those were the days….sigh…
GREAT!!!!!!!!! STORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now I’m going to have to look up Llangollen. I confess I only know Wales from the Cadfael books. Can’t remember if they filmed in Wales. Vague memory – one of the Dr Who follow-ons was filmed in Cardiff.
You! Actually! Rode! the! Orient! Express?????????????????
Accidents are big in the states, too. The train I’d be on was frequently stopped by those. Apparently throwing yourself into the future nightmares of the train engineer was considered a favorite way of departing this vale of tears and leaving those tears for someone else to suffer. As I remember, our porter used to hide while the staff were out searching. They weren’t allowed to resume, he said, until they found the head. YUCK!
There is a Welsh word…hiraeth. There is no adequate Welsh to English translation.
The definition is “a homesickness for a home to which you cannot return; A home which perhaps never was; the nostalgia, the yearning, the grief for the lost places of your past.”
I get weepy just typing that. We’ve all felt it. We all know hiraeth. It is my favourite Welsh word, the Welsh themselves very feeling people.
I never made it to Cardiff, itself a Welsh London. I preferred the beauty of North Wales, small villages, loads of breathtaking countryside. There wasn’t a day driving from where we lived in Glyndyfrdwy (the smallest of small villages) into Llangollen that I didn’t consider myself most fortunate to have had the opportunity to call that place home for two decades. I miss it, and I miss dreadfully my friends (family really). But such is life. I had those years and I am eternally grateful. And “home” it remains forever in the deepest part of my soul and heart.
Llangollen has changed since we left, and not for the better…but name me a place today that hasn’t, mores the pity. If you look up “Llangollen International Eistedfodd” you will get a flavour of it.
And alas, no, I didn’t travel on the Orient Express. But I certainly wanted to. When I think of train travel, I always think of it. Can you imagine??
And ugh!!! A head? Now that’s a pretty grim thought. Most accidents on the UK are of the suicide kind. Another grim thought.
Just remembering those lovely Santa weekends and those magnificent highly maintained steam engines is a very sweet and comforting memory for me. And the smell!! Coal fueled…there is nothing like it, I don’t give a fig what the climate cultists say. For me it is a smell of home that I truly treasure.😊
“There is a Welsh word…hiraeth. There is no adequate Welsh to English translation . . . The definition is “a homesickness for a home to which you cannot return; A home which perhaps never was; the nostalgia, the yearning, the grief for the lost places of your past.””
Thank you for telling us about that beautiful word.
You are most welcome, Kitty-Kat. The pronunciation of it is “here-rithe”. I forgot to add that.😊
I am not fond of Trains…my whole life, I remember them as dirty…LIRR or the Chicago El or Amtrak in Chicago…
Dad was an LIRR conductor when not being a merchant marine….he would take me to work with him on Sunday mornings, sometimes…
One summer day..we were walking thru the train yard, I was 6, in my Sunday best…Dad was pointing out which rail to not step on…as he let me step on the others…and jump off.
He pointed to one…and said “not that one”…as I was picking up my foot to put it on that ‘forbidden rail’…something made him grab me and pick me up. And saved my life….The dreaded “third rail”.
That event stayed with both of us, all our lives…
For more than half a century, He had no idea what motivated him to grab me…I had no idea what motivated me to step on the forbidden third rail…
Someday, Wales and Scotland are on my bucket list…for the scenery….God’s country.
Being in a railroad family was always special. Earliest memories of grandfather taking me to stand on the last car platform to look out the window as he pointed out the signals he’d invented.
The compartments between Chicago and NY WERE rundown. The compartments between Chicago and the west coast were MUCH better. All the trains had the unfortunate problem of having their toilets occasionally break down. Sigh. But the dining car. Oh, how I loved when dinner was called.
Am a deep diver into genealogy, and we have railroads on both sides. Did a trip to walk along the abandoned line that ran behind 3rd ggfather’s house. Story was that he’d stand outside with a stopwatch to check that it was on-time. This was back in 1836.
Oh memories, Aggiegirl!! And an Intervention! I have a picture on my phone of a calf lying on a small square of undisturbed field..and all the rest of that field around this tiny creature on that small patch of land is burnt to a blackened crisp.
The writing on this photo said, “And God said, ‘Not that one.'”
…as He must have said the day your father’s quick and timely reflexes saved you for us here. What an incredible moment. Ill bet you’ve not forgotten it. God bless your loving father and Father. Deo gratias!!😘
At her best, very-under-appreciated
Oh how I agree with that, Joe.
Good morning, Garrison. Mellow is the word that, for me, fits here. Very very nice!😘
Afternoon, Bet. Goin’ for coffee with my best friend. Good afternoon for long conversations. 🙂
I’m envious!!! Have a wonderful time, Garrison. What a fine afternoon you will have😘

Roy Clark’s passing and America in 2018

Good morning, Sepp. As a passionate lover of classical music and opera myself, I found this an eloquent tribute to a man who’s incredible talents and personality I miss. His enthusiasm and love for what he was able to do were infectious.
Who could watch him and not come away impressed and happier? I stumbled on a video of his playing, intending to move on; but I found myself watching more, which thankfully are preserved for all time. We’ve moved on from those times and left his kind behind..and we are the poorer for it. Thank you for this most wonderful essay.
You’re welcome. Mr. Clark is/was the Real Deal.
He was walking, playing pure joy.
Thanks for posting that, sepp.
You’re welcome.
I did not know of Roy Clark’s passing.. Dad liked him and Buck Owens.. I remember watching Hee Haw with Dad evening after evening..
me being a rock n’ roller Led Zeppelin Ted Nugent Lynyrd Skynyrd type fan.. many nights I waited through the Hee Haw show till the show I wanted to watch came on..
and then I saw this one that captivated my attention.. a song that changed my whole outlook on life.. oh so many years ago..
and now here I am.. yesterday.. when I was young..
thank you Roy.. thank you Dad..
Beautiful.
Oh boy, Texian. Now that just makes me melancholy. Remembering…I’m glad you posted it.
INFINITE THANKS FOR THIS, Texian! I used to love this and I lost every memory of it. And you brought it back. So deeply grateful.
I THOUGHT this sounded familiar! “Hier encore”, whose original French title translates to “Just yesterday” or “Not so long ago”, is a song composed by Georges Garvarentz and written by Charles Aznavour and released in September 1964.”
Here’s Charles Aznavour singing it in English.
And here’s one of Charles Aznavour’s songs in French:
Miami Vice – Je Te Rechaufferai – Charles Aznavour
Music keeps us young. Thank you Mary. Another from another era sadly missed. Kids and other people today wouldn’t have a clue who Charles Aznavour was. Isn’t that a shame…
I went to a department store CD area and asked for Peter, Paul and Mary. The clerk hadn’t the faintest idea who I was talking about.
Sad…..so sad…
Those “Odd Couple” reactions to Roy Clark’s playing are not acting!
Very astute observation, this pro agrees as he breaks down performers qualities.
This it same clip as above on the odd couple.
This guy has some interesting breakdowns of performances, found him when I did the Righteous Brothers Unchained Melody the past few weeks, need to find the software he is using for myself.
Thanks, enjoyed the clip. Roy could play anything into the stratosphere. Here he is improvising straight ahead jazz with the incomparable Joe Pass.
“Joe Pass?? He’s my idol!”
That’s John Pisano on rhythm in the background.
Here is another
Joe Pass & Roy Clark – “Jambalaya”
And if you stay goes into “Cold, Cold Heart”
It just gets better and better…
Staying on the road. In the truck taking my break at Vandalia. Today I take a trailer up to Newaygo, MI and take another break. Wednesday I do the 4 stop milkrun up in MI and bring the loaded trailer back here.
Stay safe, rah, and hurry home.
Not sure what the weather is for where you are…drive carefully. Chicagoland has its first ‘real’ snow…
We love you.
Now that just makes me smile and my heart swell. So say I…💕

November 15 Oswald Chambers
“What Is That to You?”
Peter…said to Jesus, “But Lord, what about this man?” Jesus said to him, “…what is that to you? You follow Me.” —John 21:21-22
One of the hardest lessons to learn comes from our stubborn refusal to refrain from interfering in other people’s lives. It takes a long time to realize the danger of being an amateur providence, that is, interfering with God’s plan for others. You see someone suffering and say, “He will not suffer, and I will make sure that he doesn’t.” You put your hand right in front of God’s permissive will to stop it, and then God says, “What is that to you?” Is there stagnation in your spiritual life? Don’t allow it to continue, but get into God’s presence and find out the reason for it. You will possibly find it is because you have been interfering in the life of another— proposing things you had no right to propose, or advising when you had no right to advise. When you do have to give advice to another person, God will advise through you with the direct understanding of His Spirit. Your part is to maintain the right relationship with God so that His discernment can come through you continually for the purpose of blessing someone else.
Most of us live only within the level of consciousness— consciously serving and consciously devoted to God. This shows immaturity and the fact that we’re not yet living the real Christian life. Maturity is produced in the life of a child of God on the unconscious level, until we become so totally surrendered to God that we are not even aware of being used by Him. When we are consciously aware of being used as broken bread and poured-out wine, we have yet another level to reach— a level where all awareness of ourselves and of what God is doing through us is completely eliminated. A saint is never consciously a saint— a saint is consciously dependent on God.

Beware of bartering the Word of God for a more suitable conception of your own.

What a coincidence I saw this the other day…
“I learn from the mistakes of people who took my advice.”
Oh how that marries so well with this from Chambers…
November 15
MORNING
God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord. I Cor. 1:9
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; for he is faithful that promised. Heb. 10:23
God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. II Cor. 6:16
Truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. I John 1:3
Rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. I Pet. 4:13
That ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Eph. 3:17-19
Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. I John 4:15
And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. I John 3:24
EVENING
We are his workmanship. Eph. 2:10
They brought great stones, costly stones, and hewed stones, to lay the foundation of the house. I Kings 5:17
The house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building. I Kings 6:7
Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house. I Pet. 2:5
Built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone; in whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: in whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit. Eph. 2:20-22
Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God. I Pet. 2:10
Ye are God’s building. I Cor. 3:9
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. II Cor. 5:17
Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit. II Cor. 5:5

It is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. – Philippians 2:13
What a wondrous thing it is to worship a God who is big enough to care for each individual’s needs! And not only that, He desires to guide you in what you do and who you are becoming. Jesus said that the Father knows your hair count (Luke 12:7). He also said that He knows what you need before you ask (Matthew 6:8). And when you ask, believe that you already received it (Mark 11:24). What amazing promises from an amazing God!
And He does this for His good pleasure. Do you think of God as Someone who has fun? Good pleasure sounds more formal, but good pleasure actually means fun. God has fun conforming you to the image of His Son. And the more eager you are to cooperate with Him, the more fun He has. He desires you to delight in Him, and He delights in giving you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4).
Of course, there are certain conditions, James reminds his readers. “You do not have, because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions” (James 4:2-3). Examine your heart. Are the things you want within the realm of His will? If so, be prepared to receive what He has for you and those around you.
In your prayer time today, thank Him for His wonderful promises. Present your needs and the needs of this country to Him. Ask believing that you will receive. Be patient and hold fast in faith, so that you will receive what He desires to give you in His timing.

Patience and faith. The two things we need in abundance, especially as we find ourselves in a world today which is in mighty need of them.
We ask, Dear Lord, for these in us to be strengthened. And, please Abba Father, help us to forbearance as You work Your will, which is unknown to your flock, knowing that You are doing things which are greater than we can imagine and greater than we could hope or pray for. Amen.
PLEASE PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER
Good morning, dear duchess. My goodness, how apt are these beautiful and reassuring spiritual reinforcements? Wonderfully chosen. Thank you.💕
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
AMEN.

Thinking of you all, all morning….
Mornin’ all!
A recent Rasmussen poll revealed that 57% of Americans believe elections are rigged.
When you poll Democrats and ask about elections, they will lie.
I think if Laplace’s Demon held a gun to their heads and said the answer is known, tell me what you think, most would all agree, that the 2020 and 2022 elections are an international joke.
Taking into consideration the precipitous decline in American IQ’s over the last 25 years (Studies show about a 20 point decline. i.e. “The Kardashians”), there is still, the probability, imo, that the lion’s share of Americans know “the fix is in”.
The percentage of Americans who think elections are “rigged’ is probably about 85 to 90%.
America, is now, John Kennedy Jr.’s Piper Saratoga in a “graveyard spiral” piloted by someone who looks exactly like a pilot should look, but can’t fly the plane.
The appearance of “free and fair” elections is all that counts with the Fascist-Democrats now in charge.
Like the Kardashians, appearance is the fulfillment of aspiration and performance is secondary to the “narrative”.
For example, In the face of the unambiguated evidence of election fraud, the use of “denier” is a convenient canard. It works.
In the face of the unambiguated evidence of vaccine damage, you are called a vaccine denier.
Republicans need to STOP worrying about the health of their enemies and their enemy’s embryos.
Let them murder their babies and poison themselves. This is a war to the death.
“If my dear friend Donald Trump ever decided to sacrifice his fabulous billionaire lifestyle to become President, he would be an unstoppable force for ultimate justice that Democrats and Republicans alike would celebrate.”
~John F Kennedy Jr in George Magazine, June 1999~
That was then…as Mark Steyn said, we are not in decline. That part is over. We are in freefall, and I’m pretty certain we are very nearly about to feel the full force impact of this country, founded with Almighty God at its centre, abandoning everything we once held so dear.
Oh betsy… 🙁
Not meaning to sound so defeated, Slowcobra, and I know it sounds like that.
But there is no currency in averting our gaze when reality is standing 2 inches from us. Delusion about our circumstances profits no one.
I should have added, and will do so now…it is always darkest before the dawn.
So it is said. When we thank Almighty God and his Bless-ed only Son for mercies, grace and blessings received (as darling duchess always posts every single day), I always want to add “…and for mercies, grace, and blessings yet to come.”
And they will come, are coming. All is change. Nothing is static. We have arrived at this low point for only a brief moment, all time considered. We will not remain here. What is to come? Whoever knows…you know the answer to that. Faith, patience, trust in our Good Shepherd will see us through…day by day, we will crawl out of this abysmal pit with His guidance and lovingkindness lighting the way. I am certain of it. Be of good cheer…we are loved. 🙏😘
Is this where we ‘thank’ Madeline Murray O’Hare?/s
We do have a culture problem here in the colonies.
There is no true education for kids. Adults want what they want. and the list goes on….
We have become a lying, cheating thieving, stealing nation of fools.
More focused on ‘party’ and profits than substance….(look at Pelosi and Bribem, for starters.).
PDJT has wanted to be POTUS, for a long, long time, biding his time for the right moment in history. He also knew the necessary need to be ‘squeaky clean’ and they still tried to trash him. He knew the risks, but not the depth of swamp depravity that festers in the evil hearts of men and women.
Andrei at the Saker calls us The Empire of Hate and Lies.
Time was I would have recoiled from that. But I’ve come to understand he refers to the United States… not America. There is a difference.
I see what others across the world have seen for decades. I no longer recoil in the face of obvious truth. Just cold anger that we Americans are painted with the same dirty brush in the eyes of others.
The people elected in this country and those they have placed in the Fourth Branch…the actual despotic soulless creatures in the grubby subterranean halls of power which run this country…are responsible for this state of affairs.
Bone chilling hatred for Donald Trump has exposed them all. Somewhere while these filthy traitors are still on this earth, Miss Karma is waiting. When they’ve departed, something else awaits.

Found this to be an interesting article; the link is to Part II and has within it a link to Part I. There may be a Part III that has not shown up yet.
It speaks of the menticide that is being foisted upon people everywhere, not just here in the US, keeping people in fear, off balance, angry, etc. (and boy is everyone angry at the election just held).
Here is a short snippet from within the article:
“Priming a population for the crime of menticide begins with the sowing of fear. People then are very susceptible to progressing to delusions of madness. Meerloo describes how threats – real, imagined, or fabricated – can be used to disseminate and create fear. Moreover a particularly effective technique of menticide is to use waves of terror. This technique involves the sowing of fear interspersed with periods of calm, but each of these periods of cam is followed by the creation or invention of an even more intense dissemination of fear, which ca be repeated indefinitely – or as Meerloo writes:
“Each wave of terrorizing . . . creates its effects more easily – after a breathing spell – than the one that preceded it, because people are still disturbed by their previous experience. Morality becomes lower and lower, and the psychological effects of each new propaganda campaign become stronger; it reaches a public already softened up.”
“What Meerloo describes is exactly what happened with the psy-op waged under the psychologists of SPI-B and the UK Government with regard to the threat of Covid-19 and “variants of concern”. No doubt the nudging mavens and behavioral change agents are even now applying the same refined tactics to the supposed climate emergency, the cost of living crisis, the war in Ukraine and the rest of the news, which is flooded with talk of impending food and fuel shortages for a mixture of all these alleged reasons.”
While reading this article realized what the author is describing is this stuff is still going on, now, not just here in the US but everywhere. Look at the anger of ordinary citizens, whether the farmers in Europe, the people of Brazil, the purposely allowed invasion over not only our borders of waves of people who have no reason to be here but also in Europe where waves of people are being seduced to leave their homelands – that stuff keeps citizens angry, and afraid while the powers that be go around pretending ‘nothing to see here’.
I have a hunch we need to do intermittent fasting from electronic media just like the FLCCC doctors are showing that intermittent fasting from food allows the body’s natural immune system to go about repairing and strengthening our immune systems, I think intermittent fasting from our smart phones, televisions, social platforms, just might help us build up our immune system to the world-wide menticide that everyone is being subjected to.
Here’s the Part II article. It is an author in the UK so the focus is on their governmental psy-op program, but we have those here too (witness Cass Sunstein’s nudging protocol all of our government and news outlets have been conducting for over a decade now) , titled Menticide 101 and the Brainwashing of a World, Part II, Beyond the Fear:
https://www.ukcolumn.org/article/menticide-101-and-the-brainwashing-of-a-world-part-ii-beyond-the-fear
I think I accidentally backed into your idea of taking a media fast. By the end of last week I’d run out of America First friendly media options as one by one each pushed for PDJT to go away –which I took to include all those awful MAGA folks like me too. So with no friendly shows left, I finally turned the radio off.
At first the silence was unsettling ..still is. But I can feel myself getting my legs under me a bit and feeling more in touch with myself. Until I read your post this morning, I was on the hunt for some replacement shows, but perhaps I will just stay with my partial media fast for awhile. I cut down on internet news too (not entirely obviously because I still come to my beloved CTH ) —anyway thanks for posting –thought provoking and timely.
I’m thinking I want to lean more toward spending my time with helpful action and less passively listening to pundits. Have volunteered to help with a local recount if needed later this week. But my media fast is in its early stages – will see where it takes me.
I’ve rediscovered my love for hobbies, something that I pushed to the side convinced I must stay informed and on top of all the breaking news. Media fasts could be a perfect time to get re-acquainted with a hobby, or find a new one! Definitely see where it takes you! Going to be pleasant surprises the more we take back control, of our time, our minds.
Thanks, Bessie…bookmarked and will read.

Prayerful Treepers…the old Burn Nurse in me is asking for prayers for Jay Leno, and anyone else burned… who sustained facial burns from some sort of explosion or fire in his garage.
Facial burns automatically qualify one for admission to a burn center. There are many structures on the face, that don’t heal well, even with plastic surgeon intervention. The cartilage on the nose and ears can be problematic. Eye lids, and the delicate tissue around the mouth and including the lips. Not to mention inhalation injury.
St. John the Apostle is reportedly, the patron saint for burn victims.
You chose a tough profession, Aggiegirl. Many thanks for your choice and your service.
Aggiegirl, when my trauma surgeon father returned from his MASH unit in for front of the front lines in the Korean War, he became head of the burn unit at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio. He saw what burn patients went through, and although he never spoke of what he tried to help…both there and in Korea…I do remember (I was 4) his speaking of the horrors of fire…a warning.
I also remember reading in Life Magazine a lengthy article written by a burns nurse. It was detailed and raw. I won’t ever forget it. It was no wonder my father never spoke of his days there. Something one wouldn’t wish on ones worst enemy.
Prayer offered for Mr Leno and for his no doubt skilled nurses and doctors on keeping him as comfortable as it is humanly possible to do.🙏
I should add on that Life Magazine article, the burns nurse was a pediatric burns specialist. Was that why I always remember it? I think it might be….
Amen!

Dr. David Nixon, a medical doctor in Australia, put droplets of a covid shot under a microscope and observed mechanical arms assembling and disassembling glowing rectangular structures resembling circuitry and microchips. Time-lapse photography revealed the structures’ movement. The formation of crystals seems to be stimulated by electromagnetic radiation that stops when the slide smeared with the sample is shielded by an external electromagnetic field blocking Faraday bag. These findings are similar to those made by other independent teams from New Zealand, Germany, Spain and South Korea. Nixon brought his findings to authorities.
