Perhaps a little focus on the foundation of the issue is in order.
Ever since the professional Republican apparatus decided to target, eliminate and destroy the grassroots movement known as the Tea Party, there was always going to come a time when the battle for the heart and soul of the GOP Club would take place.
CTH has been calling this battle ‘The Big Ugly‘ for around a decade.
The Big Ugly battle is essentially the fight between the grassroots working class base of MAGA voters and the professional political snobs in control of the Republican Club boardroom.
Some call it the ‘base’ -vs- the ‘establishment’. There are other names and catchphrases, but the essence of the dynamic is the same. A scruffy voting base, who, prior to Donald Trump, had no visible leader to represent their internal interests around the mahogany table.
Ordinary voters were in an abusive relationship with the people around the GOP boardroom. The Club needed our votes, and our money (less so after the Citizens United decision) but had no intention of ever actually delivering on the priorities of the voters. The Republican political establishment played Lucy with the football for years, and We The People always ended up flat on our backs, continually frustrated and feeling used.
In the same year the Tea Party rose up, the Supreme Court gave the GOP Club legal access to unlimited corporate money with the 2010 Citizens United decision. Mitch McConnell used the newly unrestrained campaign finance mechanism to further diminish the influence of the unwashed masses and eliminate the movement; it’s all well documented.
For the next several years we watched and participated in a political pantomime with highlights to include the 2012 installation of Club member Mitt Romney to represent our interests. Yeah, whatever…. It was a hot mess. Bumper Sticker:
The base voters watched the GOP Corporate Club do nothing to block Obamacare, even after we gave them the House in 2010 midterms. Obamacare was another Lucy and the football scenario, while the Senate wing of the Corporate Club created “comprehensive immigration reform,” including amnesty with Marco Rubio. Eventually, the bloom wore off the ruse, and we dispatched Virginia Club official Eric Cantor as a message to the Corporate Club to knock it off.
The Corporate Club didn’t and doesn’t care. Instead, while they sold out the working-class to the multinationals (TPA, TPP, Paris Climate, etc) they fought harder, gaslight more, and made even more promises they never intended to keep. Lucy had an unending supply of footballs.
Then in 2015 things changed. The voting base found a weapon for use against the Republican Club, the weapon’s name was Donald Trump. From the very first poll conducted after his 2015 announcement Trump was leading the charge, and that lead steamrolled 16 other Club approved candidates. The Club remained furious and vowed to remove the disrupter we sent into the boardroom.
Candidate Trump and President Donald Trump tried to deal with them fair and square on our behalf, but they rebuked him and us.
The Club schemed against him, connived in their little corporate groups to get rid of him, joined with the communists in common cause to cleanse the Club boardroom of the smell from oil, tar and fuel oil, and wanted that vulgarian representative of the dirty fingernail working class eliminated. They want only the “approved Republican” presence.
So, it was always going to get ugly.
It was always going to get Big Ugly.
The Club’s enlistment of former TPP approving congressman Ron DeSantis as a foil against the MAGA leader is transparent. DeSantis, funded by massive contributions from the Wall Street approval committee, replaces the prior approved candidate, Jeb. This Big Ugly battle was always going to end up with vulgarian Trump -vs- the next Jeb. The Club has selected DeSantis as Jeb.
Now, let’s be clear. The Republican political establishment, which includes the entirety of the multinationals in/around it, hereafter just called ‘The Club’, doesn’t give a damn about actually winning the 2024 presidential race. The Club didn’t give a damn when Romney was used either.
What the Club wants is full control of the Club agenda, that’s where the money is. The color of the flag atop the Capitol Hill dome is irrelevant to the activity that takes place beneath it. To understand, remind yourself of: The 2017 Obamacare repeal vote, 2015 TPA and fast track approval, 2015 Corker-Cardin amendment for Obama’s Iran Deal, 2014 Gang-of-Eight amnesty bill, or more recently the 2022 unlimited Ukraine funding.
Under the Capitol Hill dome both Club wings of the UniParty apparatus feed the multinational corporate vulture, regardless of the color of the flag atop the spire.
The Republican Club has no interest in Ron DeSantis becoming President of the United States. The Republican Club has interest in Donald Trump NOT becoming President of the United States. Ron DeSantis is the foil, nothing more. It’s not about Ron DeSantis, it’s about the Club, the mechanism behind Ron DeSantis – the same mechanism that put $200 million into his campaign as enticement for his usefulness.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis -vs- California Governor Gavin Newsom in 2024 is simply two clubs playing the illusion of choice game.
Ultimately, using history and modern politics as the perspective, if you really boil down the political sauce to its reduced state, what you find is… With DeSantis the DNC Club needs less ballot collection to defeat him. However, that’s irrelevant to the intent of his usefulness for the GOP club.
For the professional GOP Club, as openly expressed by the establishment politicians within it, the donors behind it and the media who promote it, the goal is to remove the populism within the club and bring back the multinational Club alignment with the corporations. That alignment was severely damaged by President Trump and the America First economic agenda.
The core of the Big Ugly battle is a Club motive based on money, power and boardroom affluence, in essence, GREED.
For ten plus years on these pages, I have written extensively about how there was always, always, going to be a point where the Big Ugly battle was going to have to be waged. We have waited and waited, looking at each moment, each conflict, each disparagement, each slight and snub, in hope the spark would ignite.
If the Big Ugly arrives in a contest between President Trump and Governor DeSantis, well, great; it needs to happen.
The bottom line is we need this Big Ugly fight. Not only does the future of the GOP reside in the outcome, the future of a constitutional republic free from corporatism is contingent upon it.
Yes, this fight is going to be big, and it’s going to be ugly… and in the aftermath, hopefully lots of free footballs.

I decided that this morning after reading the article “President Trump Fires Back Against Ron DeSantis, Con Inc and Coordinated Narrative Midterm Effort” on this site. The two big takeaways:
(1) stop the populist movement and (2) get the Republican Party back in alignment with the multinational “corporate world.”
So if the GOP no longer wants or needs the MAGA movement it is time to get out and get away from McConnell-McCarthy Inc. and form a real conservative party. I am tired of voting for the milquetoast Washington Generals.

Don’t know if it needs to be said, but step one is change your voter registration to Unaffiliated, as I did in NC, or whatever similar status in your State. Find a way to contribute to your MAGA candidates other than through WinRed. Party affiliation may matter in your State come primary time, but in NC you can declare at the polling location registration desk which Party ballot you want. I’ve voted Republican for 50 years but will no longer associate myself with them as a Party, too much deception. Thank God Donald Trump came along, was always curious about his cockiness but given his net worth I figured he didn’t need the money and couldn’t be bought. Turned out to be true, and I’m proud to say that I support a good man.
Just a warning, if a person lives in a closed primary state then they should not switch from registered Republican to anything else, otherwise they won’t be able to vote in the primaries thus won’t be able to try to oust RINOs.

I think California should be on that list. I register independent and then always have to switch to Republican for the primaries, but our primary is so late that it’s always a “statement” vote. For instance, I voted against Romney even though he had won the nomination. Then I voted for him, Romney, against Obama. Hindsight is 20/20, seeing Romney now, I am ashamed of it, I should have left the choice for president blank.

The uniparty has been against the American people for decades. My husband clearly told me that back in the 1980s — when he was already calling them the uniparty.
We would have disagreements, with me, the GOP supporter telling him the Republican platform was worlds away from the Democrap platform, and him telling me it didn’t matter what their platforms said, once elected both parties did the same thing. Playing off each other.
It took a few years before I saw with my own eyes that what he’d been saying for years was true, and that’s when I quit politics for good.
That is until Donald Trump announced his candidacy for President. After hearing what Donald said I told my husband I was diving in again, but only for Donald Trump.
I dove in big time.
But thinking about this election and all that has taken place, plus remembering the fact that the Republican and Democrap parties are BUSINESSES OUT TO MAKE MONEY and not America First entities, it made me realize that we have to kill the beast — the uniparty beast.
How do we do that?
We stop feeding it.
We leave the plantation, the uniparty, GOP, DFL, money making, America killing plantation.
We stop being their slaves.
We start being free men, free women.
We stop fearing the possibility that we will “lose” if we go to a third party, because, hey, “we” aren’t doing very well right now, because it isn’t on the uniparty’s calendar for us to win this election.
Stop supporting the uniparty.

Stop giving to the uniparty.

Donald Trump: Continually Underestimated Since 2015 …
Does Trump have to insult everyone to get us to vote for him? I don’t think so, but apparently Trump thinks so.
I will support Trump to the end but my vote won’t depend on who seems like the nice guy. But the votes of a majority of the women in this country have depend on that image of any candidate. Remember how nice we had to be to even get our wives to marry us? Since women seem to be the only ones who will get off of their fat asses and vote, maybe Trump will have a better next couple of years if he can remember that.
Have I spoken to anyone. Winning elections is about a lot more than cat calling everyone who you imagine may want the same job as you. Did that ever work for any of us when we were in line for a job we wanted. What will we do if Trump can’t win on his clever yarns about other people’s names.
Most people are not as beatable as Hillary Clinton turned out to be and since we can’t seem to get it through our heads that we need to be our own bosses and worry about who our own leaders inside our own communities are first and foremost. We have failed at that this week and I think we may be out of do overs.
I do not disagree with any of what Sundance has written here, but our candidate is stumbling right out of the gate this time. I think the one mistake in all of this is under estimating the Republican party.
The Tea Party was a Republican born controlled opposition operation.
Trump is just the Pied Piper of the wayward Republican fan club.
The Republican leaders just want a new Pied Piper with slightly less of a mouth on the new distraction.
In the end, and what’s important to both parties is… YOU KEEP BELIEVING in this saga. Because if you become like me and no longer believe in elections, parties or politicians, you become really dangerous to our government.

I see this a bit differently. De Santis is the splitter in ’24 in the same way that Cruz was in ’16. His role is to siphon off votes from Trump supporters who do not believe that the swamp will ever allow Trump to return to the WH. DeSantis is a tool, as you rightly point out; he is not a member of the inner circle. The Club wants someone like Haley at the top of the ticket.

I remember when the Citizens United decision was made by the Supreme Court.
I was extremely pissed off, it basically says that corporations (as most people know now, most of them are run by NWO globalist puppets) can supply millions of dollars, like they were individuals, to their government puppet campaigns while regular people can only contribute a much smaller amount to the politicians of their choice.
I could see what was coming, and I know most of my fellow Treepers could see it coming too.
Example- because I am just a regular worker, I could only contribute small amounts to President Trump’s campaigns. But because after the Citizens United decision corporations are treated like individuals, a**holes like Zuckerberg or Soros could contribute hundreds of millions of dollars from their corporations, as if the corporations were individuals, to the campaigns of their puppets.
If we ever somehow get back into a position of total power, one of the first things we need to do is to slap down the Citizens United decision, by law, and if any judge opposes it we impeach them out.
We can’t vote our way out of this mess.

I did exactly this with the U.S. Senate race in Illinois. I wrote-in Peggy Hubbard instead of voting for the RINO, GOPe candidate, Kathy Salvi.
Mike Lindell’s team proved that Salvi stole the primary race from Hubbard.
The write-in votes for Hubbard won’t be counted because Illinois has a corrupt state law that states that write-in votes are only counted for officially registered write-in candidates, which Hubbard was not.
One can roughly ascertain how many write-in votes Hubbard received by noting how many fewer votes Salvi received compared to the grassroots, conservative, Republican candidate for Illinois governor, Darren Bailey.
It’s interesting to see how many people voted for the Republican gubernatorial candidate, but not the Republican U.S. Senate candidate.
Salvi actually lost some conservative counties that Bailey won likely due to people writing-in Hubbard.
They will never allow Trump to win in 2024. They can cheat as much as needed with impunity. Nobody to stop it. There is no question in that. So what happens then?

RINO Al Salvi ran as the Republican U.S. Senate candidate in Illinois against Dick Durbin in 1996 and lost miserably.
Despite this massive loss, the liberal Chicago elite who run the Illinois Republican Party still supported the Salvis and decided to run Al’s wife, Kathy Salvi, as the establishment candidate in the 2022 U.S. Senate Republican primary.
The conservative grassroots candidate, Peggy Hubbard, had massive support in the primary, but lost to Kathy Salvi, due to election fraud that was confirmed by Mike Lindell’s team.
Kathy Salvi lost massively to Democrat Tammy Duckworth just like her husband lost massively in 1996.
Why would the ILGOP want to run the wife of the massive loser, Al Salvi, in 2022? It’s stupid and out of touch. It shows that they wanted to lose to the Democrats on purpose.

The fact that he’s a former Republican U.S. Senate candidate and husband of a Republican U.S. Senate candidate whose profile picture is from a climate change conference is too funny. It’s like a punchline from a bad joke, but unfortunately, he and his wife are the bad jokes.
Attending the Chicago Conference on Climate Change is not the proper venue for interacting with the conservative grassroots of Illinois. This is where one goes if they want to network with the liberal elites of Chicago.
The fact that the ILGOP thinks that Al and Kathy Salvi would appeal to grassroots, conservative voters in Illinois highlights their profound disconnect with reality. They are disconnected fools.
