The Bureau of Labor and Statistics (BLS) provides the latest data on consumer prices (inflation) [DATA HERE]. We explained in 2021 how inflation would grow on a month-over-month and year-over-year basis until the calendar became more friendly and the government officials could claim “diminished inflation growth.” Well, we are now entering that phase of economic parseltongue.
October consumer prices increased 0.4% over September. However, we are now comparing year-over-year (Y0Y) inflation to the period where last year’s prices had already skyrocketed, so YoY inflation seems to be moderating at 7.7%, it’s a false premise. {Go Deep}
As expected, the energy-driven consumer inflation in the food sector has arrived. The proverbial field inflation is arriving at the fork, and the October CPI now shows the third wave of food price increases we had previously discussed.
Table 2 Details: Egg prices increased +10.1% last month and now 43% higher than last year. Butter +1.9% last month, 26.7% for year. Margarine +1.3% for month, 47.1% for year. Coffee +1.3% for the month, 15.6% for the year.
Heading into baking season we find flour +0.2% for the month, +24.6% for year. Essentially, as expected, all of the holiday foodstuffs are now rising in price as the increased field and commodity prices hit the store shelves.
Some row crops are starting to moderate in price growth, while dairy products continue rising throughout the fall season. It is going to be painful on the checkbook grocery shopping this holiday season.
On the energy front, home heating oil increased 19.8% in October and is now a whopping 68.5% higher than last October. Unleaded gasoline increased another 3.5% and now is now 20.9% higher than last year (Oct ’21), which was already 40% higher than January 2021.
Food, fuel, electricity, home heating and housing costs continue growing monthly, but give the illusion of moderating when compared to last year.
Food away from home (restaurants etc.) are starting to show the cumulative price impacts for restaurants, hotels and cafeterias. Additionally, as the kids returned to school the lunchroom prices have skyrocketed a jaw-dropping +3.8% for October and +95% compared to last year [Table 2]. Packing lunches for kids is going to become an even more important aspect for the family food budget.
The stock market is happy with the news because the lowered 7.7% (YoY) inflation number, a product of the calendar and nothing else, gives optimism the Fed may moderate the increased federal reserve rate hikes. However, don’t count on it because inflation is easily identified as embedded now. Lemons at the grocery store are now $0.99/each.
Think about that. $1 for a single lemon and roughly 50¢ per egg at the supermarket. A full shopping cart of groceries now easily exceeding $200. This is devastating for those on fixed incomes and blue-collar workers.
Wages are nowhere near keeping up with this level of price increase.
(CNBC) The consumer price index rose less than expected in October, an indication that while inflation is still a threat to the U.S. economy, pressures could be starting to cool.
The index, a broad-based measure of goods and services costs, increased 0.4% for the month and 7.7% from a year ago, according to a Bureau of Labor Statistics release Thursday. Respective estimates from Dow Jones were for rises of 0.6% and 7.9%.
Excluding volatile food and energy costs, so-called core CPI increased 0.3% for the month and 6.3% on an annual basis, compared with respective estimates of 0.5% and 6.5%.
A 2.4% decline in used vehicle prices helped bring down the inflation figures. Apparel prices fell 0.7% and medical care services were lower by 0.6%.
“The report overstates the case that inflation is coming in, but it makes a case inflation is coming in,” said Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody’s Analytics. “It’s pretty clear that inflation has definitely peaked and is rolling over. All the trend lines suggest that it will continue to moderate going forward, assuming that nothing goes off the rails.” (read more)
The Biden energy policy is the root of the consumer inflation. Nothing will happen to moderate overall consumer inflation on Main Street until energy policy changes.
Additionally, with the 2022 election in the rear-view mirror, we should start to see layoffs and unemployment increasing now. The bureaucrats will now let the recession become evident.
The great starvation
The Great Reset, Holodomor 2.0, maybe a few more that encapsulate it.
I no longer worry about them coming for our firearms. Much easier to take them from those they starve to death.
Wait until the rail lines shut down (strike), we run out of diesel (trucking), and the barges don’t move. The last may be a convenient act of god for them.
FJB and ALL of his crooked minions and puppet-masters!
Calm down Sundance, It’s ok and were happy with it, Old Joe said so.
Scary to think the kind of “top notch” financial education you’re get at Wharton today.
Professor Jeremy Siegel just said inflation is basically over.
Horrendously evil people!
Inflation has stopped in Mexico. Prices are stable.
They are in BRICs where using fossil fuel isn’t criminal and they don’t have a drooling fool as President. Hey maybe Mexico is going to have to build a wall.
Mexico is subsidizing the price of its gasoline. Because its refineries are poorly maintained, they can’t refine Mexico’s highly sedimented and sulfurous oil into gasoline or jet fuel.
So they send it to us to refine, and send back. Therefore, gas in MX typically costs 10-20% MORE in MX, than in the US.
This means that everything that uses gas will also be less inflated, for a while. But it’s putting a huge dent in the national MX budget. It can’t go on too much longer that way.
I wonder if the cartels are subsidizing some of it.
They have a source of oil and natural gas. We don’t.
we have sources…lots of them….Slo Joe and his cronies will not let oil and gas get after them by order of PRC and WEF
He doesn’t have the damn authority to do it! He’s not a GD king.
According to who? And even if that’s the case why not just buy from them?
Bob…Please provide some current credible statistics, because Statista, Reuters, and several other statistical sources (along with my Mexican neighbors stories) tell a far different story.
The price of gas is about $1 in Mexico. That’s all you need to know.
Uh, no. I live there most of the year. Get a clue. Mexico prices it’s gas and propane by the liter. Here’s the latest weekly price…

America.
Throughout human history, you had this.
Feudalism.
You were born a serf, a slave to the land.
Of course, when the possibility of a better life appeared, you fled to America.
The dream land of post-Second World War America must end.
Americans who have lived in this world have been the luckiest humans ever.
We now return to the world of struggling to live. Just to live. The fascists/feudalists demand it.
Friday another market jump or a slump?
Feel like ‘they’ want a positive week and will twist the tenuous inflation #’s again to boost POTATOECONOMICS.
Thoughts?
The beatings shall continue until the people rise up and kick the bums out, one way or the other.
i think it all has to start with a non violent tax revolt. thats how the founders did it.
It has to start with each of us accepting that we cannot pretend any longer. Stop pretending that the people supporting this evil haven’t chosen evil as their constant companion.
That means no longer pretending they aren’t evil to avoid confrontation at the holidays. No more pretending that insanity is normal. No more biting our tongues for the sake of civility.
We can each of us decide to take action against the people we know personally to apply the social pressures that have been forbidden for too long. The experiment of mainstreaming the insane has gone too far, end it.
Well said, Mr. Shadow!
Agree. And/but, what do you think will happen? If we have been pretending (and we have), will our employers fire us, or will they say, “hey, you are right. Thanks for speaking up about the emperor having no clothes. We’re going to stop pretending, too.”
Do you think our families will even talk to us anymore? Might they be grateful that we are standing up and shining a bright light, and they will join us?
Will a sudden ceasing of all pretense make the evil dissolve, if we are the only one?
How do we find the courage to do this 100% alone, when so far all attempts have been met with a solid wall of threats, contemptuousness and shunning?
A sincere question. Because I’d really love to be able to pull this off.
It seems we are entering a Noah Event. You cannot save everyone, only your own family (maybe not even all of them). The best you can do is disappear into the background and build your own ark to get your clan through the coming turmoil and collapse. Good luck to all! 🍀
SD called it, we are compounding inflation, 7.7% on top of last October which was 6.2%. You start compounding percentages like that year after year and it is going to continue to bust budgets.
Simple receipt price comparisons from Trump era to Biden’s Communist era will show that most combined prices on food have simply DOUBLED. So if you paid $20 under Trump, it’s now $40,… or $50 is now $100.
I think they meant 7.7% per day…
None of this outrageous gaslighting is remotely possible without the corrupt media and their big tech buddies.
The Big Club we understood it to be had a membership drive when we weren’t looking. Now it’s even BIGGER.
Fascism, Betsy.
The richest people on earth are now aligned against us.
Even total frauds like Zuckerberg have joined their club.
I despair at the posters here who call people like Gates and Bezos, the greediest people who have ever lived, communists. They certainly support the big State, but they are fascists not communists.
Fascism is a pervasive doctrine, not just name calling.
And fascism is a leftist doctrine. The Chinese are now a one-party fascist State.
They tried Marxism. Marxism is garbage. So they moved on to fascism.
The newscasters of CNN and NBC etc., who report nonsense, are employed by huge multi-national corporations, and are doing the bidding of fascists.
Leave the Cold War behind, children.
Agree. But it does have a soupcon (apologies…my Kindle doesn’t allow me to accurately spell this wonderful French word accurately) of the collective in it.
Fascism resurrected in every institution in this now benighted country. I doubt, if asked for a definition, most people would be able to give one. For most, it’s just a word to hurl at their political enemies…that would be us, who understand it only too well.
Given how far we’ve fallen from where we started…no longer a morally or spiritually sound republic…the ground has been made fertile for the incubation of this sordid, misery inducing, murderous, godless, pernicious ideology. It took a few decades for the roots to establish themselves. They are now harvesting their foul fruits without let or hindrance.
I remember studying fascism and thinking, well, how grotesque it was…and then, thank goodness the US will never experience it.
More fool me.
Betsy:
I adore your broad mind.
I rarely check back on my posts, because of all the trolls, and the worthless moderators here do nothing.
Calling those who differ stupid is not fair comment.
Hello, moderator?
I try always to answer those who are kind enough to respond to my posts. I miss some of course, but to me it is just a courtesy to do so. As long as you saw my answer to yours, all is well…blessings to you, raptor.
They are becoming their worst nightmare without even realizing it.
Regardless of what traitors in msm and big tech lie about, the end result is that 60+% of people across the USA just voted for more if this sh!t
In the end, each of these morons had to decide if they want to keep spending 2-3 times what basic essentials where just a couple years ago.
There is no sympathy or amnesty coming from me
Dominion hot AIR.
What budget?
Gubbermint hasn’t balanced a budget or even looked at one for years. Just print more money right obiden?
Statista has some great historical inflation charts, and they do it in a manner that shows the rate of inflation as an increase from the former year.
For instance, despite what Mexico Bob says, MX inflation last year was 5.69%, and this year was 6.81%, which cumulatively makes for 12.2% over the last 2 years.
And of course, as the eminent John Williams of Shadowstats has measured for years (and who now says our real inflation in the US is MUCH higher), the gov’t screws with the weighting of items in the index, and manipulates them to appear smaller than they are.
So if the CPI of five years ago includes steak for dinner, but steak gets very expensive, the gov’t will substitute a “reasonable substitute” like ground beef instead.
Or they remove an entire category from the list, such as housing. It’s a complete scam.
You can read a lot from his free first page.

My work day has been cut from 5 days a week to 4.
Be thankful for only losing one day, Obama era collapsed my employer at record speed. First it was hours cut in half then a few weeks later they completely folded up. Ohh and they had 42 factories mostly in the US that were employing over 16,000 people. This was a company that had been in business for over 40 years.
they feel that its their right to f*kc with your life and they’ll never stop until we f*kc with theirs
Correct.
So when are cowards going to grow a set and start acting?
OMG, what a shock for you and the others! So many people and businesses have been devastated by him and his political progeny!
Not to mention all the people who got laid off by Whirrlpool, Carrier, Fredrick, auto manufacturers, etc, moving to Mexico. And yet, it hasn’t pulled Mexico out of poverty.
We need a Congress and President that care about the people.
So sorry this happened to you. Amazon has lost almost $1 trillion in stock value, from here on in is downhill.
The trillion it made during Covid while Mom and Pop lost their businesses and life savings because they had to close down.
My heart breaks for Amazon./sarc
they gained tremendously under the plandemic meaning they are still ahead of the game……wasn’t Bezos just scouting out buying the Washington football team so he cannot be claiming poverty now
Bezos has to worry about Blue Origin now.
Building rockets is getting mighty expensive , especially when you have very few launches bringing in the bacon.
There was never any reason to have government anywhere near any business, oil, fracking, regulations for most everything. And then, we all just did nothing.
one day less tax tribute to the DC Overlords
This is the great reset, Rudolph.
This is what they mean.
We make do with less. And we consume less fossil fuel, getting to work.
Exactly why government buses running empty fights global warming is their puzzle to solve.
Butter was $7.26 a lb Land O Lakes in fl near Tampa.
Lordie, and that’s not even great butter!!
When I am tempted to go through a drive through now for fast food, I calculate how long I have to work using my hourly wage to pay for it. Usually, I pass now. Looks like I may have to give up butter now.
Rudolf, a good start, your on the right track.
Extend it farther: recognise we pay significant “mark-ups” or surcharges, for “Convenience” “Efficiency” “Status” and buying on credit.
Combined, these markups can easily increase the actual cost we pay, to meet our need, by 1000-2000 percent.
As you retrain your mind, to SEE and recognise just HOW MUCH you are paying over and above what you need to pay to satisfy your need, just for these four “add-ons” or multipliers actually, that do NOTHING to satisfy the need, or increase the value, you will make different choices.
And once you start doing THAT, you will begin to see that much of this is an illusion; that the “more convenient” route, actually ISN’T ‘more convenient’, the “status” is likewise an illusion, etc.
It takes TIME, to retrain our minds, but keep at it.
So true, Dutch.
about 17/18 years ago I just decided spur of the moment that I would no longer patronize places like McDonald’s. It was pretty easy actually and trust me once you stop going for a bit you won’t have any desires to go back.
last night I watched the Grapes of Wrath if you haven’t seen it it’s a fantastic movie, really a great American tragedy. Is this what’s coming?
Love that movie, John Ford is my favorite director. I just read Maureen Ohara”s biography and he is potrayed as monster.
Really loved the last scene when Ma Joad talks about the rich (elites today) and how they are spoiled and that we the people are what makes this country great.
Drunken Irishman, but he LOVED John Wayne and everyone of Marion’s PALS!!!!
Haven’t been in a fast food place in years.
The Democratic way to deal with inflation and fast food business….
“The Fast Food Accountability and Standards Recovery Act (or FAST Recovery Act, AB 257),
which was signed into law by California Governor Gavin Newsom on September 5, 2022,
creates a council of labor representatives
and grants it authority to raise the minimum wage for fast-food workers to $22 per hour…”
….
Living under the Governor Gavin Newsom rule
is one of the main reasons i don’t understand
the hatred for governor DeSantis.
and,
I never question why sundance doesn’t move after the 4 or 5 hurricanes he has survived.
I’m thinking about family ,friends, grandchildren and childhood memories.
California is my home and I’m not leaving.
California,
Coming out of the grocery store i signed a ballot initiatives to repeal 2 stupid laws.
The signature gatherer is paid 2.00 per signature .
I thanked him after I signed 2 initiatives and he made a quick 4 bucks..
I want to repeal The newly constituted unelected Council and its authority to raise the minimum wage of fast food workers by 47% next year to $22/hour.
This is nuts..
The general population is much weaker than 100 years ago; spiritually, morally, physically and financially. They will break easily from the cold, hunger, anxiety and fear that will be coming from the “administration” pounding them like a headache. If you think the treatment of January 6 detainees has been bad, you better bury your head in the sand right now. Sexual and emotional perversions are about to explode in schools and entertainment media. Product scarcities will become common, regardless of price. Perversions are cherished.
The United States, under an “administration” of dimwits, perverts and fanatics like the Bidens, Pelosi’s, Soros, Zuckerberg, Gates, Schwab, Schumer, McConnell, Fink and many others will become intolerable with no routes of escape. America has become the lesson of losing a country because you let people with no stake or sacrifice to the country gain power and influence. Corporations are like the most evil of terrorist immigrants; no soul, yet a burning desire to accomplish one objective at any cost. The majority voted for this!
It’s likely that many did vote for this, especially the young and the ignorant. However, without the cheating used with machine votes (dominion), I believe we would have won with all of the conservative and MAGA candidates.
People back then were basically law-abiding, hard-working, humble people. They weren’t the high-flying speculators that crashed the market. I had some as clients. They didn’t feel entitled to anything, were pretty good at stretching a dollar! Helped their neighbors.
This generation now??… Facing the hardships of the Great Depression? You will see crime galore, and worse.
Stupid, entitled, violent, narcissistic, sociopathic.
Micky D’s is ALL…PACKAGING!!!!! YOU ARE PAYING FOR PAPER YOU WILL BE THROWING AWAY!
I, too stopped patronizing fast food entities many years ago. I realized that the nutrition factor was negligent, that this food was simply not healthy. 35 – 40 years ago, it was a “fun thing” to do, on occasion, a novelty. However, anybody with any sense realized that this “novelty” was just that.
Nothing beats real home-cooked food.
Drove through Mac-D’s without using wifey’s coupons. Cost us a bit north of $25. It was then I reminded both of us that a 4 pack of VERY GOOD filet steaks from SAM’s run between $40 and $60, $10 to $15/steak. We now believe we’re done with drive-through unless she has coupons(gets it down to about $5 total for both of us).
Try to really make an effort to make simple things at home. You can easily butterfly a boneless breast of chicken, cook on medium heat in both a teaspoon of olive oil and butter, make a slice of bacon…add tomato, lettuce, and burger roll and voilà…a McChicken sandwich!
Better quality bread, too! I haven’t eaten white bread for 40 years. Yuk.
PS…unless you have stocked up in the last year, anything in a box, can or jar is going to cost more. Stick to natural product if you can.
Buy cream and make your own. Youtube shows you how
Oh wow!! That is crazy!
Do you have Aldi in your area? $2.49/ pound this week and it’s just as good as Land O Lakes.
Yeah, I’ve seen Land O Lakes butter in WI near commie Madison running around $6.00+ when it wasn’t on sale.
I’m still using butter that costed $1.99 (on sale), but I now see that Kwik Trip has a sale going on for their butter ($2.99, limit 5).
Wife always buys a few pounds when butter is $2. She puts in freezer and always seems to last until the next $2 sale.
Note that we don’t each too much butter, but I hope this tip helps fellow Treepers
Butter is actually good for you, but I have never played a doctor on TV. I expect the TV Doctor actors know more than the real ones.
$2.49 at Kwik Trip in southern Wisconsin. That Diesel price shows up right there.
Paying $4.69 for store brand which is bad but wow $7.26!!!
When questioned about any changes to his White House policy agenda, or what he plans to do differently, Biden said, “Nothing, because they’re just finding out what we’re doing. The more they know about what we’re doing, the more support there is.”
He’s soooo confused.
He’s repeating what Obama & CO. have programmed him to say. Joe just ain’t firing on all cylinders anymore.
Ya think?
Kinda late to the party
Neither does Fetterman….WOW!!!!! No cylinders?
No, he’s pure evil. He’s rational enough to know that his (other) masters at the WEF will applaud his democide.
Worse. He is a liar.
FJB
Unfortunately, there’s idiots out there who will continue to support this bs.
This is hilarious when I compare it to my “Kiplinger” Business update email I just got.
THE ECONOMY Finally, a glimmer of good news on inflation: Price increases eased in Oct., with the Consumer Price Index showing a 7.7% annual gain. That still hurts, but it’s better than Sept.’s 8.2%, and gives hope that inflation is cooling enough that the Federal Reserve may believe its series of steep interest rate hikes is working.
LOL……we know we were advancing at the speed of a land speed record rocket car last month and now we are down to a Bugatti Veyron……aren’t you happy
They are working hard to suck retail investors back in so the connected big boys can make their bonus this year. Watch out!
Inflation on most food items bought at retail stores is roughly 100% over the last two years, or since Biden stole the WH.
Broccoli crowns, which I was able to buy at $1.19/lb several months ago is now at $1.99/lb everywhere I checked.
The MSM economic and financial pundits pretend they don’t know this. Not one that I’ve read or heard have noted this mathematical fact.
I’m buying eggs at Costco for $4.99 per 2 dozen, $.21 per egg, not $.50. They are the large, cage free eggs.
I have found that what I save in one hand gets taken from the other by some other expense.
You’re buying bulk. That’s not grocery store. Now if you say you’re going to Harris Teeter and getting that price, then you’re on to something.
Treepers need to keep their eyes open for the bargains. When you see a good, buy 4-6 weeks worth (if able) because that’s how sale prices cycle at the grocery stores. About the time you use it up, it should go on sale again.
Yes…Michael Yon is reporting that there’s an upcoming rail strike, PLUS the shortage of diesel. He says to buy as much food as you can, right away. He is an expert on famine.
I buy direct from farms and pay that much.
Costco is too liberal for me. No concealed carry…Deal Breaker right there.
That is why we cancelled our membership the same day we got it. We walked around the store and hated it. Bunch of snooty peeps.
I think it depends on where you live. I’m in Santa Maria, Ca, which is a very conservative farming area, although, there is some small manufacturing, but mostly agricultural.
Oh, youmean I am supposed to notice, and pay attentionto those signs with a gun in a circle, with a line thru it?
I DON’T CARE
Cold dead hands, and too old to give a sh*t.
Correct.
A sign does not take precidence over my form of self defense.
According to NY it does.
FNY.
The money I MIGHT save on groceries would be taken up by the cost of membership, fuel to get there etc. Add in their liberal policies and I’m not joining them.
We usually get double back what our membership is, so it depends on how much of your shopping you do at costco. If it’s cheaper somewhere else, then we buy it there.
$2.50 for a dozen eggs at costco is still very expensive compared to President Trump’s time.
If it’s concealed, who cares.
The blue label, non organic XL 1.5 dozen eggs at Costco were $3.29 last year and the year before that during the 2020 madness. It’s never been $4.99 until recently. The one I go to were over $5 last week. $5.29 I believe. Furthermore, the 32 pack of Kirkland seltzers were $8, and now they’re $10.99.
Start checking the weight of the products you buy. Not only you are paying more, you’re getting less than you were before prices started going up. It’s the $/oz that matters that most people don’t realize is astronomical
Their three pound coffee was $8.99 -$9.99, now (Tuesday) it was $15.99.
You can also freeze eggs. Youtube/google tells you how
.Gov is the diabolical narcissist…we are the target victim being abused and gaslit 24/7.
Also either Biden will stop stealing crude from the Reserves or they will run out. But either way fuel is going to sky rocket..
Energy will necessarily have to skyrocket in order to save the planet and make ruinables more palatable.
Or something to that extent, as attributed to one of the utterances of the (self-)anointed one of 2008.
This past week I picked up several hundred pounds of wheat berries and oatmeal, all organic, because I could get it, with transportation costs included, for less than $1/lb. I grind the wheat into flour for breads and pastries, etc. The oatmeal is used for granola, and put in breads and muffins, as well as used for a hot bowl of oatmeal in the morning. I was thinking that this is probably as cheap as I could get for high quality rib-stickin-to food for my large family. Yes, it’s an absolute pain in the reat to handle that quantity, especially storing it. I understand when people don’t want to go to all the trouble, and would rather complain about the empty shelves in the grocery store. But, honestly, we need to be thinking in terms of the lack of food in our futures, our Seniors, those in our communities who are struggling, and be prepared to help them as inexpensively as we can. I can stretch these basics foods for miles and miles. Moms should be going in on these large quantities to stretch their dollars. It can be done.
Just sayin’. I know some people who will not do anything about anything. They will sit there and complain until the cows come home. I’ve started to lose my patience for people who won’t do anything to help themselves. I ask for forgiveness.
Totally agree.
Yep!
Just wait until Starbucks runs out of coffee because there’s no desiel for delivery trucks.
Then these lazy bums will take to the streets to riot because it’s Bad Orange Man’s fault
It all boils down to how much oil are we prepared to pump and refine. Less oil/gas/ coal the greater the inflation rate. Environmental policy is the method to bring us to our knees. Battery operating cars and wind and solar are designed to ruin our economy.
No, its a double whammy.
Yes, restricting energy is one punch, but the other is profligate spending, more $’s in circulation, the less each one is worth.
The energy shock will renew now that the pre-election draw down of the SPR is over. Many multinationals also pushed large buy backs in Q3 to juice the Dow. Housing and auto’s are leading indicators, and both show sizable contraction – consumers cannot afford either. Residential real-estate brokers in some parts of the Midwest are basically out of work – very few buyers.
In my state of IL, now that the Leftist Democrats all got re-elected the question is how much to raise taxes to further feather the beds of public employee pension multi-millonaires.
The resorting will accelerate as well-to-do conservative and moderates flee to Red States for sanctuary – we are Republican Pilgrims now – people w/o a land, and for the most part w/o a political party.
DON’T leave, change the system.
No, its NOT hopeless.
If the NYS residents who fled to Florida had stayed, Zeldin would be the Governor.
And you can’t get more “traditional blue” than NYS.
Patriots in NYS succesfully used the precinct strategy to infiltrate the State R party, purge the RINOS and the difference we see, between results in NYS, AZ, and Nevada, compared to Michigan and Penn, is simple; in the first 3, the MAGA forces were succesful, in the other two, while there WAS an effort, it was not succesful.
So STAY and FIGHT, don’t come flocking to a sunshine state that is free, buckle down, suit up and FIGHT the RINOS in your State party.
Both groups of States had the NATIONAL Republican party, openly working against the MAGA candidates, doesn’t matter.
The STATE PARTIES are EVERYTHING. If they are controlled by RINOS, a MAGA candidate can not win, even against a brain dead fetterman.
With a MAGA State party, a MAGA candidate can WIN, even when her opponent is the sitting SoS, in charge of running the election.
If we want to “take back America” and MAGA, we MUST engage the enemy, the RINOS, and where we can win, which is STATE R PARTIES.
It really is that simple.
Amen Dutch…that’s why I’m still in CA. My rural area did it’s part to send Kevin Kiley (R) to Congress and kick San Fran Nan out of the speaker chair.
Likewise it looks like the fight is cut out for me in Downeast Maine.
I’m not going to roll over for those people from away. Maine does not need more idiotic policies like those in New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, etc.
I will strive to see Anus King get booted out of office in 2024.
Angus is an arrogant elitist. I pray he will get booted out, along with Collins. However, as long as we have “ranked choice voting” (RCV) it will not happen. RCV was created by the Dems for the Dems.
Hi Dutch. Enjoy your comments every day.
This one i have to disagree. States like CA, NY, entire NE and IL (my current home) are gone. Yes, there are many many red counties, however the urban lunatics will never “elect” a MAGA (or even a RINO)
Looks like D have made massive progress getting several other states to flip AZ, NM, CO, WI, MI. Those MIGHT be able to be saved using the strategy you outline.
I am beginning to think the primary strategy should be to hold the red states now. Fix all the election bs before the DemonicRats turn them purple, then blue
I think nothing will change until we get rid of voting machines. That will only happen if/when we get conservatives elected to the Governorship and the State Legislatures. However, with “Dominion” tallying the votes, how can we ever get to elect conservatives???? It’s a “catch 22”
There is effectively no Republican party any longer in IL. The few elected people with ‘R’s” have pretty much turned into elected lobbyists. No, IL is lost – it is a barren land for conservatives. Let this hopefully serve as a warning to others – Once the Leftists are in, it’s over.
I’m staying where I am — Maryland — and it’s very unpleasant. The most unpleasant part about it is that I have no like-minded people in my circle, so I’m surrounded by brainwashed people who are unwilling and unable to engage in rational conversation on “the issues.” Rubber-stamping, virtue-signaling haters oblivious to their own projected hatred. This is the state where I was born and grew up, and I really do not want to leave. Make Maryland great again! But I’m just one person…..
Sad but true
The price of diesel never came down with the price of gas. Its sad that people cant equate the high cost of diesel to the price increases in goods. Food doesnt teleport to the supermarket. Another sad reality I find is that many on the left seem to be unaware of bidens energy policy because he lies about it. “No more fossil fuels!” is pretty clear, but then we’re dealing with people who also said “ANYONE BUT TRUMP!”
Well, enjoy your choice.
Yep, meanwhile the majority of us suffer because of this idiocy. And thanks to the Uniparty & msm the never Trump tirade continues with their new narrative they’re selling that DeSantis is the frontrunner for 2024. Makes me furious reading comments on other sites with supposed admitted Trump voters already buying into their psychological game and agreeing it’s time for Trump to step down and support DeSantis. Far too many still don’t get how the Uniparty works against our interest and our country for their own self interest. I link articles from here as much as possible trying to educate people but who knows if they read them.
As Trump has pointed out many times, the msm is one of our greatest enemies. If they weren’t compromised, they’d be reporting the truth like real journalist are supposed to such as what we read here at CTH. Would go a long way to dispel a lot of the bs people so easily buy into!!
Yes! RedState has been turning gradually then BAM! It turned into an anti-Trump sewer, full of commenters like you describe, right on cue in the last few days.
I am amazed at the number of ignorant voters in this country.
In the future oil will not be priced on the dollar so things are going to get bumpy.
But but.but Joe said prices are going down and he is doing a great job and we all love him…..he wouldn’t change a thing🤦♀️🤦♀️
I think they’re camouflaging election fraud behind the smokescreen of ‘compassionate Democrats.’ The R’s are thought to indulge drug companies’ price gouging and cuts to Social Security while the D’s debate how to amnesty college loans. The Democratic Party is associated with safety nets and endless entitlements. My point here is that this is the alibi for election fraud. It’s implied, not stated overtly. I also think there are numerous strategies being deployed to gray out the details of crime and its often politically incorrect real life hues.
Generation X is going to have seize the reigns of the future if there is any, for them and their progeny. I also think freedom fighters might begin thinking a lot less about MAGA and more about creating a new country. Or learning to network and take up the tactics of our adversaries. They lie and cheat and rig constantly. They hide it and don’t expect or desire a transparent government or society.
Retired Magistrate here: The price of fuel oil is really impacting our budget; here in Central Ohio it is $5.97 per gallon and we have a 550 gallon tank. Had it filled up in June for $4.62 and I thought that was bad.
We will probably get it topped off in early January or sooner. With our long steep driveway the fuel oil truck can’t make it up the driveway with snow or ice. Under President Trump we paid between $1.90 and $2.64 per gallon.
We checked into switching over the propane; however, that is cost prohibitive: new furnace, possible ductwork, lines, etc. So keep the heat at 64, put more clothes on and more blankets at night. I wonder how many people will freeze to death this winter in the United States because they can’t afford fuel oil. Won’t matter with the dementia patient; he just doesn’t care. It’s the Green New Deal don’t ya know. Anything to prevent climate change; of course we are experiencing that right now: today it is 69 and sunny by Saturday a high of 39 and snow. Yep, climate change; happens every season around here.
Also, watch for stories of families dieing in their sleep from carbon monoxide poisoning, from trying to use charcoal cookers, or other inappropriate ways of heating.
My first home in 1974 had oil heat. I had a 1000 gal. tank. I paid 19 cents a gallon including all taxes. A fill up would last 2 years. $190 for two years. Now it would be nearly $6000.
I can relate to that. Lived in ILL in mid 70’s with oil tank heat. Almost broke us then, can’t even imagine what would happen now! Thank goodness I moved west!
Hi Marcia sorry to hear
We had similar situation with electric heat when we lived in Pocono Mountains
I installed a propane heater in the main room. Its about size of refrigerator. No extra venting or ductwork
Look into this and hope it helps
I live in Maine. I recently had a propane delivery. It cost $6.16/gallon; $6.00/gallon if you pay within 10 days of delivery. I use the propane for my oven and my automatic generator, so they only have to fill it annually. On the other hand, I have oil heat for the house; I’m down to 1/4 tank. I dread when they come to fill that up. I also fear that they will not fill it completely, due to the shortages, and I’ll have to self-conserve, i.e., stay cold.
If you can afford it, look for vintage Scottish cashmere sweaters on Ebay or the thrift store, also silk baselayers. The cashmere after 1990 is almost all Chinese, and poor quality. The vintage Scottish cashmere is really warm no matter if it has small holes, just wear it close to your skin.
I bought a beautiful one on Ebay, looked brand new, for $30, inc. shipping.
Americans are obviously not feeling enough financial pain yet, as they voted in the midterms for the very same people inflicting this pain upon them.
I am gobsmacked by just the huge number of woke left wing voters, and that a permanently brain damaged Fetterman got elected to serve under a radical left wing President with clinical Alzheimer’s.
The Democrats are getting away with blatant corruption because they can. The GOP are evil and feckless and a large part of the populace is not tuned in to the destruction of the country occurring before their eyes.
I would dispute that a majority of Americans who voted, wanted to have more of that @#$% sandwich that was being offered as under the “Green” New Deal.
The theme of one of the last posts from Sundance was ballots vs votes. These are not equivalent and one of those “wins” elections.
It is the fact that the government gives out so much money to certain groups that they aren’t feeling the pain. These are the Covid pod people who stay at home and expect the peons to bring them their food and other things they order. They are sooo afraid to venture outside but they’ll vote for the money to keep flowing to them. When the peons stop delivering to the Covid pod people then you know what will hit the fan.
True, for far too many.
That time frame is estimated to be about three days. That’s about all the stock on hand in the stores to meet typical demand in those cities.
No fuel, no deliveries. Nothing to buy on the shelf even if you had money.
Indeed!
Thanks for bringing that in person election vs vote by mail. Can’t remember who commented earlier but he received 4 ballots in the mail. Two of the people Yes daddy longer lived at that address and one he never heard of. So the good conservative threw 3 away and voted on one ballot. Now ask yourself, how many ballots did the democrat fill out and send in? Now do you see the problem. When we play the game like they do the bullshit will stop.
When they feel pain it will be too late, it takes years to build and refined products and explore for oil. Now that the Saudis will no longer be using the dollar for oil, we have nothing to back the dollars so it is going to be in freefall.
The election was based on one thing in a liberal mind… abortion. And abortion solves the high prices in their minds. They are on a slippery slope to nihilism and moral depravity. Their love is carnal and selfish and grotesque.
Also remember Joe’s first Christmas? How he warned us of a dark time in history? Well, it was still bright in 2021. He was off in his predictions by about 1 year. But here we are in the dark ages thanks to the anti-God crowd. And to feigned ineptitude.
And Musk is the new Trump and punching bag for liberals who are blind to their own demise. Keep looking up… our peace comes not from government or this world.
once again the question has to be asked…did they REALLY vote them in?…….you may fault the general public for being complacent about the very apparent cheating in the 2020 STEAL and not demanding action but there was PLENTY of cheating this go round too….again are you SURE the American public VOTED for this?
Note it’s BALLOTS, Not Votes/Voters.
Remember Uncle Joe Stalin’s comment, “It matters little who votes, only Those who count the Ballots.
The cheating is what voted these Lefties in, not the populace. And, yes, the GOP are evil and feckless, as shown by Mitch’s decision to not fund AF candidates and actually funding Murkowski’s re-election against conservative Kelly Tshibaka.
Shadowstats has the rate easing to 15.9%. Nobody but the stock market is buying 7.75%
Love John Williams.
“Inflation cools” Lol!
All they do is lie.
Yep.
Its the same “cooling” as being in Phoenix when the temperature drops from 115 degrees to 110.
Its still hot AF!
I can’t believe the people in the north east just voted for more of the same. Is it Battered Voter Syndrome, election fraud or are they just plain stupid?
D. All the above.
Did you forget about the 3 million illegal border crossings?
The beatings will continue until morale improves.
I thought the same thing. The results in NH are a real head scratcher.
Don’t fall for this current CPI as an indicator of inflation. It’s not real. Check gas, heating, electricity, food and insurance costs.
Call it 2020 CPI.
Don’t call it inflation.
Like calling Covid vaccines, “vaccines”. Not true. They are Covid shots. Vaccines prevent disease.
Yet millions of those struggling Americans wether they realize it or not just asked for more of the same simply because of party politics. And that’s exactly what they will get. I try to be empathetic but a person can only do so much.
I’m getting into that cynical phase where a part of me just doesn’t care anymore what happens to my fellow Americans.
I would not say “cynical.” Rather, you are simply being “realistic.”
Although I suppose one could be both:)
Why would you? They are getting exactly what they want. We have no obligation to consider them at all.
This is a great article, echoing your sentiment.

Just 728 days till the election. What else have we got?
😏 All we need to know is the price of Chef Boyardee.

Those numbers thrilled Wall Street that climbed over 1200 points and saw a blowout rally today: stocks posted outsized gains Thursday, logging their biggest one-day climb in two years, as Wall Street cheered lighter-than-expected inflation data
They are actually cheering divided government.
Apparently the prices are not high enough–They voted for economic destruction, serfdom, and (continued) government dependence. I can almost see them voting with their masks on while completely boosted up with spike proteins. Or, perhaps just selling their ballot and address for 50 bucks.
Exactly, the year on year inflation number is ‘moderating’ because we are now comparing to last year when inflation started to skyrocket. This so-called moderation will continue because November 2021 inflation was higher than October 2021. And every month after Nov 21 until June 22 it went up. So they’ll be claiming ongoing moderation for months on a YoY basis. Chart below to see the monthly YoY CPI. The great pretending, and I’m ignoring that CPI is understated to begin with.

just wondering if Vance and Rubio mentioned Trump in their victory speech. Because of Trump they won. Just like he helped RS, but tht friendship is over. Those tht forget the person tht helped then a long the way aren’t worth a cent
no they did not.
Rubio is SO COMPLETELY MEDIOCRE, in every way. Nobody I know here in FL can stand him. Need to start recruiting an alternative to him, starting in mid-2024.
About half of the country voted for more of this and the trajectory of the country, the economy, the crime and the open borders. I assume they have not gotten enough of a squeeze to vote differently. I’m confident it will get worse.
Butter is on sale at Aldi this week for $2.49, a 25% increase from last year’s sale price of $1.99. I have yet to see a sale on spiral sliced ham at any store and it’s now at $2.79 per pound. The rate of inflation may be moderating but prices sure aren’t.
Food out is also up. I used to budget $20 for my weekly lunch out. Now it’s $25 to 30. I had scallops at lunch yesterday for $22. The exact same dish was $18 last fall. I really enjoy my lunch group but it’s gotten to the point where I also need to like the lunch place before I commit to going.
In 2008-2009, I made a lot of purchasing decisions based on which businesses I really wanted to be around when things got back to normal. I’m doing the same thing now but I’m not sure we’ll ever return to normal.
I’m interested in how people are spending their entertainment dollar. Clearly, gaming is #1.
I have to chuckle at television. There is a lot of buzz about Yellowstone. They appear to draw about half the audience Tim Allen drew:
https://www.inquisitr.com/149991/tim-allens-last-man-standing-wins-big-in-ratings-war/
https://tvseriesfinale.com/tv-show/yellowstone-season-four-ratings/
I downloaded Terminal List Season 1 and tried to watch it. I got most of the way through the first episode. I wonder who their audience is?
Gaming is #1 because the player wins. In Terminal List, you have a bunch of losers/anti-heroes. You will never get that time back spent watching it.
books
Scribd, $85/year and I get premium TuneIn as a perk for free. I just need to renew TuneIn monthly. I listen to a lot of books while I’m doing other things and they have a lot of audio books.
I have Paramount+ free for 1 year through T-Mobile. I may or may not renew it when it expires in January or February. I think it’s $10/month. I have no other streaming services.
Money that I might use for other entertainment is donated to various news websites, such as CTH, CFP, the Twitchy/Redstate group, Revolver, etc.
I don’t have a TV since the cats broke it in early 2020. I see no reason to replace it. If I want to watch something, Pluto.tv and Paramount have enough movies and shows to fill that need.
Probably more detail than you need.
I’m a bittorrent guy: audiobooks and ebooks. I will download the good old movies. Every now and then I wander into television to see if I am missing anything. I look to the various websites to see what is “hot” and then check it out.
It’s been said all the screenwriter talent is working on video games. Movies and TV are stuck with the lower skilled talent and they follow a formula that relies on the herd (or heard).
I used to watch a fair bit of Hallmark, but not much of the new stuff. They are moving away from regular folks as all the storylines follow a formula advertising the mcmansion and magazine writer/tv personality.
The only streaming I do is Netflix. Lot of choices, some older classics, lots of chick flicks for lite-hearted fare but some interesting foreign choices too! I am fairly selective with what I watch, can just click if off it it gets too woke or just boring. Have Prime for Amazon shipping but have never even watched their TV choices, might be missing something, don’t know. Never watch network TV anymore, hate canned laughter, too much ethnic stuff for my older sensitivities. Rarely even tune in to Fox News any more, can’t abide MSM obvious bias! Order more books than I ever seem to get around to reading or completing. Probably spend too much time on my desktop!
It’s honestly time for all of us to just let them have their way. Stop saving them.. that also means stop serving them. Stop fixing their problems and letting the system fall apart.
The reality however is that won’t happen. Too many of you live on SS and pensions. You can’t survive either.. This is why you will never see the US revolt and strike like Brazil is doing now.
There is a word for this but too many on the right don’t see how dependent they truly are.
I visited the grocery store today and found older people wandering the aisles, shopping but not buying. One guy seemed to be in every aisle, with one item in his basket (I don’t think he was the store detective).
I feel sorry for the grocery store managers, who will soon be forced to constantly arrest grannies for shoplifting.
(Poli-Grip and laxatives in a locked case?).
Retail will soon be replaced by government depots that trade rationing stamps for essentials.
I hope we don’t go the Venezuelan direction, where you get the rationing book, but the shelves are empty.
And the State arrests the grocery store manager for corruption.
unless inflation is 0 or negative, you’re getting screwed. inflation incentivises debt which incentivises more inflation. before the federal reserve was created to allow congress a monopoly on counterfeiting money, the USA enjoyed a long period of mild deflation
So far this is the worse sales month we have had since we started our business 11 years ago. Told the family it will be a lean Christmas this year.
I happy my electricity came on, still cannot get off Island because roads are still closed.
When someone shows up at my door looking for a handout, there will be a few questions I ask first and the last question will be did you ever cast a ballot for Old Joebama. There will be some discrimination going on?
You can boycott most charities as it’s mostly Democrat voters that use them. And if you live in an exurb or rural area know that blood donations are shipped from their to blue urban areas – so no need to give blood.
And yet, people STILL voted democrat in the midterms!
Absolutely astounding the amount of complete stupidity!!!!!
God, there needs to be an IQ test administered before people can vote, like never before!
Because they care more about drugs, sodomy, and killing babies.
FYI:
The Federal Reserve (Powell) does not care one whit about the Consumer Price Index, the CPI, cited in this thread.
The Federal Reserve does not care one whit about what the price of food or energy is – which is what this thread is all about..
The Federal Reserve uses an entirely different index to decide whether or not to raise interest rates. That index specifically excludes food and energy effects.
The index the Federal Reserve uses to decide whether or not to raise interest rates is called “The Core PCE,” i.e., the core Personal Consumption Expenditure.
It’s important to understand that idea because when the fed raises interest rates they are, in effect, taking money out of your wallet and, in effect, jeopardizing your job. When you hear Powell say he expects the decisions of the Fed are going to cause pain, this is what he’s talking about, your wallet and your job. He’s not talking about the increasing price of gas or the increasing price of eggs.
Your wallet and your job drive you to buy gas and eggs. Powell thinks you buying gas and eggs drive the price of gas and eggs up. That is the root of increasing inflation according to the fed.
Notice, the fed is trying to influence you, that is, your buying behavior. Your behavior is Chairman Powells inflation problem. The interest rate lever is his tool to force you to behave. That’s how he gets to your wallet and your job.
The inflation target Powell is shooting for is 2%. More specifically, he is trying to drive the “core PCE” to 2%.
The latest core PCE (9/30) was 4.9%. It’s been that high since shortly after biden took office.
The core PCE that Trump handed over to biden was less than 2%. But Powell doesn’t care about that, either.
https://tradingeconomics.com/united-states/core-pce-price-index-annual-change ( Select the 5YR chart)
That was an interesting explanation. Thanks
Please expand more on this topic! Very interesting and necessary!
Great article…Thanks.
Politicians love to look at the acceleration numbers… they purposely ignore the velocity numbers.
“Cutting back on spending” to politicians is slowing down the growth. Making the velocity smaller but still they keep spending more and more and more…
…and the Propanganda Machine latches onto that. But then you don’t need to understand algebra to get a BA in journalism. Do you? God Forbid they had to understand geometry or so much as handle a sine wave.
Similarly, most Americans are also clueless about algebra, barely understanding arithmetic. You think they know what acceleration really is? Velocity… that’s only what they got their last speeding ticket.
Idiocracy for sure.
Any fool with a driver’s licence knows what acceleration is. And I used to teach arithmetic to street kids by posing questions that a dealer would have to calculate. Out of school, those kids were quick and accurate.
“Idiocracy” is a culture thing, in part a reaction to compulsory education that indoctrinates. You should watch some old Mike Rowe shows.
Velocity of money is essential for hyperinflation. Watch the VIX.
Man I sure wish we had fair & honest elections so we could fix this disaster.
Good news from fown south. Use a translator.

Just paid $3.09 for a dozen eggs in nw Alabama. Hens need to start laying!
