NY Governor race update. The initial results coming in have been mostly NYC and some surrounding counties so expected Hochul to leap way ahead out of the gate
BUT Zeldin before Election Day said that for him to win in NY he only needed to capture something like 33/34% of the NYC vote … at 35% he said it would be mathematically impossible for Hochul to win.
Have been watchng Zeldin steadily erode Hochul’s large lead as counties away from Albany and NYC are beginning to report results. Now w 47% in 58.9 to 41.1 … Zeldin keeps climbing — don’t know if he has enuf runway to get there yet… but his numbers coming out of NYC looked like it put him in the possible zone.

I read the writing on the wall when GOP sued to keep polls open in Maricopa for 3 more hours due to all the machine failures, and the court denied the request. When was the last time you remember a judge denying a democrat request to extend poll hours?

Oregon has been solid Commie for at least 20 years and hasn’t had a GOP governor for 35. Even getting close says something.
Looks like Benz(R) was re-elected to the House 65/32 so far. Wanna see one huge House district, his covers most of the state. Doesn’t matter though, that tiny space with all the Commies runs it.
I took a look at my local county, which voted Trump nearly 7/3 in 2020, and they have Drazan over Kotek 66/22 with Betsy Johnson pulling over 9% as unaffiliated. That makes sense since the county does trend to rugged individualists who don’t align along party platforms.
Unlike Arizona’s vote, Oregon’s is proceeding as one might expect, updating regularly, now showing 56% in locally.
One glaring spot on the ballot, with no results in so far, is Prop 114, one of the most restrictive state gun control measures in the country if it passes. California normally leads the west in that area.
So glad Kemp and Rubio won. What would we ever do without them.

I agree, I never expected to have a red wave nationally. I am relieved that we had one here in Florida. I can’t tell you how many new transplants we have had in the last few years so I was a little concerned how these new Floridians would vote. I am so relieved.
