In the Senate currently, the GOP has 50 seats, the Dems only 48, and then Independents have 2 seats. Those Independents “caucused” with the Dems which creates a tie, and Kamala is the tie-breaker thus we have an effective Dem majority.

The Dems always commit theft, but I really do believe that the abortion issue caused more young Dems to vote than usually would in a mid-term election. Every Dem Campaign ad I saw made abortion the #1 issue and they portrayed the Republican opposition as “extremist” and misogynist. Those ads are effective on young stupid people. lol I know because I used to be one. Abortion was one of my top issues back in my dumb days.
