There is no precedent for the legislative branch to subpoena a former President of the United States, the executive branch. No court, including the Supreme Court, would validate a congressional subpoena against the President. The separation of powers would not permit the enforcement mechanism and there is no constitutional authority within the legislative branch to compel the executive. Period.
As a result, the effort of the J6 committee is essentially a made for television performance intended to create some goofy October surprise in advance of the November midterm election. The transparency of the insufferable political nonsense is clear. President Trump responded via Truth Social:
As even Politico admits, “There is little precedent for such a move against a former president, which would raise thorny separation of powers issues that have rarely, if ever, been litigated. Only one former president has ever been subpoenaed by Congress — Harry Truman in 1953 — and he defied the summons, contending it would set a dangerous separation-of powers precedent.”
The committee will likely create some ridiculous multi hundred-page report, created under the auspices of some authority they have manufactured out of thin air. The entire enterprise has been a massive waste of taxpayer funds as the baseline for the committee itself is nothing more than a partisan election effort.
Even die-hard democrats acknowledge the pantomime is a grand waste of time.

Not one of them should be permitted to serve on any House committee in the future – assuming the GOPe takes control of the House.
They set a precedent. They agreed to serve on a strictly partisan committee, that had restricted membership dictated by the majority party. Thus, having accepted restrictions, they should, in turn, be restricted from serving on any committee that has members selected from both parties. (Of course, I have no expectation of McCarthy doing any such thing.)

I can honestly say – because I ate it up at the time (not because I believed it, but because I wanted to see what insane nonsense was yet on deck), reading every early supposed “evidence” of “Russia Collusion bombshell”that was published – when I read that “dossier” originally printed in Buzzfeed if memory serves, I could not believe that intelligent people thought any of it was true, let alone supposed “intelligence analysts” and other members of the cozy “intelligence community.”
Knew it was BS on its’ face. I guess I have a very strong BS meter.
But I too know plenty of people who still believe it to this day.
It is quite shocking how educated people do not seem to be able to carefully read and intelligently analyse anything written and published. Let me share a funny/not funny work place episode involving the giant screen tv in the cafeteria of my former workplace – from which I was “separated” from service due to refusing mandated vaccination (prior to a denied religious exemption request):
I formerly worked at an in-patient mental health facility, my position was in finance. The patients mostly moved freely about the facility and they enjoyed hanging in the cafeteria, in which also was a canteen that provided coffee, snacks and sandwiches and the like throughout the day – popular “hang out” place for patients and employees alike.
Well the giant screen TV in the cafeteria usually had CNN or MSNBC or some such on, (on rare occasions Fox), and prior to Covid-1984, much hot air – as we well know – was expended on the Russia! Russia! Russia! Collusion narrative day-in and day-out.
I forget the particular “revelation” on this particular day, (and I think this was a day Fox was on as it would make sense), but there were several patients who I knew for a fact (by various means) were strong President Trump supporters.
Others let it be known by wearing MAGA hats 🙂
Well this particular patient, as the patients moved down the hallway (right outside my office) on their way back from lunch or break to go back to their units, was screaming at the top of (he/she omitted) lungs F*** the FBI! All the way down the hall. And the more staff tried to quiet the patient, the louder the screaming F*** the FBI!! got!! It when on and on until they moved way down out of earshot.
I could not stop grinning from ear to ear, smiling to myself, yup, here’s a person with a mental issue but yet THIS PATIENT GETS IT – but too many supposedly mentally healthy people have swallowed this BS hook, line, and sinker!

According to democrat politicians, judges, lawyers, and the news media, “there was no election fraud in 2020.” This claim is made entirely on the basis that no court in the country has agreed to review any evidence of the fraud in their courtrooms. Every court has taken the Sergeant Shultz “I see nothing, I hear nothing, I know nothing” position, as if ignoring the evidence somehow discredits the evidence, or makes it vanish.
What the courts have actually done is deny due process of law on the most critical case of political corruption in our 244-years. They have violated their oaths, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and every legal American and in so doing, they have all but guaranteed the total collapse of the USA.
The courts, all the way to and including the U.S. Supreme Court, have eliminated themselves from the equation. They are no longer a legitimate active part of our constitutional form of government. They have removed themselves from the process of justice and placed justice in the hands of the American people. The Article III branch of the Federal government (the Judiciary) no longer holds any constitutional authority over anything! They have totally abdicated any lawful authority over anything at this point.
Pure Fact. And The Dear Lord God has waited for this process, so that at each level their building fiasco rises to, those new levels each have the opportunity to show the One True God and the World full of Witnesses, what God knew about them all along.
