Dear Treepers,
Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers.
We are blessed and thankful to be unharmed and safe. Unfortunately, like thousands of others, our home took major damage.
The roof could not withstand hours of 140 mph winds. The front side of the storm had weakened it, and the backside had compromised it. There are multiple structural failures all around my neighborhood.
We have no power, water, or internet etc. All my time today will be spent working on debris removal, temporary patches, and simple recovery survival.
However, all will be okay.
All my love,
Sundance
So glad that you and yours are safe. Praying for a safe and speedy recovery.
May this be a Romans8:28 moment. In time, may we see how the Lord has used this time of destruction for His good. Only with the Lord can this happen and it will. You will be restored to “more than you ask or imagine”….that’s what God can do to those to believe. you will be amazed…..May the Lord Bless all those who love Him and are leaning on Him for peace, help and assistance. Thanks for all you do Sundance….it can never be said often enough how valued, cherished and loved you are. God speed all treepers in the path and may we feel and know His presence in this trying time.
Amen 🙏🏻
Amen! Praying for you and all affected by Ian, Sundance. We in Louisiana know all too well what y’all are dealing with. Limited to no cell service, electricity, and many other things that we all take for granted on a daily basis. Praying that God turns all of this for good, and restores you completely.
So thankful y’all are safe but I am sorry about your home. Prayers will continue for y’all.
Thank you for giving us an update. So glad you’re ok!
SD,
Relieved to know that your family and you are safe. SO sorry to read about the major damage. Continued prayers for your neighbors’ and your family’s recovery.
Prayers Sundance and all in FlorIda, peace and safety
Bless you and I hope it all gets better soon. Heard from family in Cape Coral but not my friend yet in Naples. Was so worried after going through Andrew what would be.
Very dear friend in Marco….water in garages and extensive damage to property surrounding house…no service to area….water to doorsteps
Brother in St Pete….he said the storm passed by with little impact to him
Distant cousins on canals in Ft Myers….cant even imagine what they are facing…
Prayers to all here who are themselves facing the daunting task of dealing with all of this destruction and upheaval…as well as prayers to those friends and family members of those who chime in here who are likewise facing same…With heartfelt hope that none were lost❤️❤️❤️❤️
Talked to a friend in St Pete last night…he said the same thing – no big deal there.
I follow Catturd on the net and he has a lot of animals somewhere in FL – he’s back online today so obviously ok more or less.
Sundance … I am so sorry to read about your McClaren P1 … a total loss of $1M
https://nypost.com/2022/09/29/florida-mans-1m-supercar-swept-away-by-hurricane-ian/
That’s cute. 🙂 I hope Sundance gets a laugh from that. Unless it really is his McLaren. lol
A little levity in the face of soul crushing disaster … but I am sure SD’s supercar would be electric … 😜
It’s a good laugh..SD with a hybrid?? I’m thinking…NO WAY.
I am glad you are ok SD and very sorry about your home. Sending hugs, strength and prayers.
Texas Rancher,
I am so very sorry for your loss. Hugs and prayers to you as well.
Sundance,
Thanks for reaching out in your time of need, to let us know you and your family are safe!!!! I have prayed for you and everyone in this hurricane’s path.
Sad to hear your home is damaged as I know you are out there helping others. Hope a thousand angels are there to help their brothers and sisters in the cleanup. It’s so sad to see the devastation this monster has caused.
May God bless you and keep you and yours safe in the difficult days to come. Thinking of you and all your fellow Floridians and keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.
Wonderful to hear from you Sundance. Glad you and the fam are safe and sound…everything else can be repaired or replaced. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
Thinking of you Sundance and praying for your relief and help.
Glad you are all okay. Prayers for all in Florida!
Sending prayers. 💚🙏💚
Ian is not done yet. The wind is back to a Category 1 hurricane, due to hit the South Carolina central coast, just north of Charleston, maybe the Mt. Pleasant area where there are some nice homes and beachfront property.
God Bless America.
May God continue to watch over y’all there in Florida, Sundance.
What a mess. A lot of work ahead of Floridians and now the Carolinas will get some.
Wonderful to hear from you…I’ve been so worried. So far everyone I know and follow is ok!
I’ve always lived on the west coast…can’t even imagine what you’ve been through and have yet to do. Thank God you are safe!
Prayers Sundance. We are thankful that you are safe and unharmed. Houses can be replaced, you cannot!
Sadly … that’s what BLM and ANTIFA said after burning and looting buildings and stuff …
In FL … post-hurricane looters will be shot on sight. See the difference when the policing is left to the people? Yeah … policing actually happens. Why? Because people’s pensions ARE their homes and stuff. Not so much for the hired police.
Sundance and all Treepers in Florida, God is watching over all of you. I know how hard the days, weeks, and months ahead will be from experience. I too lost everything in Hurricane Laura. But we are all still alive and ready, willing and able to protect our country, our homes and families.
God Bless all of you.
Thank the Lord that you and your loved ones are ok. Praying for your safty down there. Sorry about your home. Thanks for the update.
Keep your heads up down there. We The People still care and help is coming from everywhere.
This post should have come with the special link for contributions, no time like the present! (That’s the yellow Donate sign in the upper right of the page.)
Thank you ad rem for keeping us informed; knowing Sundance is okay means everything!

In Kansas, 5 miles from a May Tornado. Destroyed dozens of homes. Spoke with a neighbor, 8 hours ago. She was in the basement. Her house has a roof, siding next week. Rebuilt from the foundation up.
Last time I was in Tampa bay, my new bride wife and I enjoyed riding a new 36′ Tiara powerboat. There were about 6 dolphins playing in front of the boat. I met my wife at a lake. I was yacht racing and she was a beach volleyball player.
I had survived a tornado on the lake in 1971. 2 boats lived (large sailboats) one pontoon boat it killed everyone. The wind blowing water was like being waterboarded with a carwash nozzle.
On a serious note, my dad was a director in Mennonite Disaster Service and lots of those farmers are on their trucks with their equipment on the way. We had done a lot of storms and flood clean ups and rebuilds.
Another odd element. This hits churches hard. We attend a large church and last night our Pastor was talking about getting on the phone and calling some of our churches. Some have building loans and we don’t We help with loan payments because their members can’t. We also have purchased 4 churches for daughter works since covid hit and they went down because of no attendance.
Tornado’s are bad too…in a different way. Had one go over my house in iL, will never forget that roar and it was an F-1.
Some IL tornado history: https://www.weather.gov/lot/Plainfield_Tornado_Anniversary
34 people perished. The sirens went off AFTER it hit. This one leveled my church.
At 1:23, the church bell tower is on the ground…
Ok, back to hurricanes….
Hurricanes spawn tornados.
Take care, Sundance.
Prayers for you and yours, Sundance. So relieved you are safe. Thought about all of you in Florida yesterday and today as we see all the damage. Take care.
Will send a little support for CTH when can. You deserve support! You are one of the good guys!
God Bless you all.
Continue to stay safe during clean-up and recovery.
Glad to hear you’re okay, Sundance.
Wow! Prayers out to you.
Prayers for y’all’s safety have been answered! Continued prayers for healrh, safety, and recovery! More prayers and sympathy for those less fortunate.
Sorry for the delayed posting….found in the bin. 🙁
Sundance is too classy to say it, but now would be a good time to hit the tip jar.
While still reeling it seems out of place to mention rebuilding could be very difficult with insurance rates to skyrocket or underwriters simply going elsewhere. New Orleans has not recovered for the same reason.
There is historic flooding in areas of Central Florida. Standard homeowners insurance does not cover flooding. This is going to be devastating.
It’s possible people paid extra for a flooding endorsement? We can do that here in WA state. We can also get earthquake coverage. Just wondering…
Yes, it is possible to do that in Florida. After Harvey flooded Texas, Floridians should have paid attention.
Yes, rebuilding may not be possible in many places.
God bless you and yours.
Best wishes.
Love n Prayers Sundance
Glad you are safe. Wish we could be there to help. May the Lord give you strength to clear the debris and make the repairs you need to do to get your home back together.
Thanks for the update!
Checked with my family…and now with your news….
All is well.
Praying for all of Florida!
Hi Sundance, So glad that you and your loved ones are safe. Very sorry about your home, though.
I continue to pray for you and your fellow Floridians.
Prayers for you, your family and community. That was a heck of a storm. May the road to recovery have few obstacles.
God’s speed to you and yours Sundance.
Prayers for you and yours, along with all our countrymen in Florida.
Sundance, family & your community, and all here who are sustaining loss: Words cannot express my heartfelt and heart breaking thoughts and feelings as to what you are going through now and the days to come. At 81, my mom lost everything in the 2004 Jeannie – Frances hurricanes.
I truly grieve for your losses you have sustained and everyone around you. I asked the Lord to give me verses to post. You probably won’t see them, but that’s ok. I prayed these verses over all of you. May God’s will be done and His favor guide you in your steps to restoration, in Jesus Name. Amen.
Job 42:10
And the Lord restored the fortunes of Job, when he had prayed for his friends. And the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.
Jeremiah 31:4
Again I will build you, and you shall be built, O virgin Israel! Again you shall adorn yourself with tambourines and shall go forth in the dance of the merrymakers.
God will restore what the locusts have devoured.
So good to know you and your family made it through this traumatic storm. I can’t imagine the road you have ahead of you to recover. Prayers and hope for you.
Glad you and yours are all ok. The cleanup and rebuild will be a major effort and I know we all wish we could help you out. Hang in there and keep us posted if there is anything at all you need that we can provide. God bless you all.
Just saw this on CFP.
The Sheriff talked about the fatalities at the local presser today and the local news people didn’t want to believe it. Lots of damage as SD shows. If they were in the structures, well….
And, notice the huge number of stick-build structures. I was really surprised by this.
Build stick houses down here and you take these chances.
Stick houses and mobile homes do not do well in cat 3’s. In cat 4’s, almost nothing is untouched.
Glad you and yours are safe. Praise God.
Prayers for strength and God’s presence for all those harmed in any way.
Glad you and yours are safe
❤️
God bless! 🙏
Praise the Lord that you are safe. Praying for easy clean-up/fix-up. Gods Blessings
