The ‘cut to the chase‘ aspect of whether Ron DeSantis is planning to run for the GOP nomination in 2024 is made clear when you realize just how much money the Florida governor has amassed. A standing total exceeding $200 million.
That $200 million is not only a staggering amount far beyond the need for his virtually certain governor’s victory, but also the largest amount of campaign money ever assembled by a governor in the history of politics {citation}. Meg Whitman, California ($176 million), and Jay Pritzker, Illinois ($176 million), were both multi-millionaires and funded the majority of their war chest. Almost all (96%) of DeSantis’ money is coming from multinational corporations, hedge funds, Wall Street firms and billionaires {citation}.
For those who are unfamiliar with the strategies of political funding, there is a timing that also highlights the intent. A conspicuously aligned timing that coincides with the Trump raid on Mar-a-Lago. Campaign finance reports are required and filled out quarterly. DeSantis had a massive war chest assembled through August 5th.
That finance revelation was immediately before the August 8th raid, before the week in the bunker, and before DeSantis reemerged August 14th with a new national branding team and communication change.
DeSantis took in even more billionaire donor checks with the national kick-off.
Everybody familiar with politics knows what that level of preparation and strategy means. DeSantis wasn’t amassing money of that scale, and simultaneously launching a new national branding campaign, for a state reelection bid. He was/is preparing for a 2024 presidential run. The only question was whether DeSantis had direct knowledge of the August 8th raid on Trump in advance, or whether he was just told not to ask questions and follow the advice of his new GOPe team. The latter is more likely.
That said, the best laid plans of mice and men were disrupted by the MAGA response to the Trump raid. As noted in the article shared by President Trump today, the professional republican donor class had -not accidentally- done a great job using their piranhas to nibble away at Trump’s support prior to the August 8th raid. However, the raid rallied the base of MAGA back to defend Donald Trump.
By the time DeSantis came out of his pre-planned bunker phase (Aug 8th through Aug 14th) the support for Donald Trump had surged again. The professionally republican handlers launched the national DeSantis campaign into indefatigable pro-Trump headwinds. DeSantis Inc stuck to the plan, but the benefit they anticipated was not there.
Unfortunately for DeSantis there’s no good way to retreat from the 2024 strategy his handlers and donors have mapped out. They have pushed him ‘all-in.’ I don’t think it’s possible for DeSantis Inc to back-down after accepting all that GOPe money, unless there is a way for them to return or redirect it.
The article President Trump shared today is a good contextual article describing the accuracy of the Trump -v- DeSantis landscape as it existed on August 29th, the date it was written.
One of the citations in the article points to John Thomas who was prepared with a pro-DeSantis PAC if the republican plan against Trump had succeeded.
As noted, the plan didn’t succeed, and with the outcome of the fulcrum event, the Mar-a-Lago raid, not having the desired effect, Thomas has now abandoned the idea of using the PAC to advance DeSantis.

All it says is that presidential electors must vote for a president and vice-president, and that one of those two can’t come from the same state as the electors. That means that if a Trump-DeSantis ticket carried Florida, then the Florida electors, and ONLY the Florida electors could not vote for both of them.
Granted the optics of the ticket coming from one state are not favorable, it is not unconstitutional I really get sick of refuting this canard.

I’m former Army MI and read every post multiple times as they came out and cross checked backwards in time depending on events or double entendres that surfaced.
While every single prediction has not come true as of date (many did), I found the revelations and how they were constructed and other cryptic, US military lingo ONLY and cryptological language, symbols and syntax credible. To the point where no amount of ‘research’ by anyone without an extensive military or civilian intel background and field experience would ever be able to understand and/or construct to the extent and consistency that was presented.
And that’s not debatable!!! Particularly by anyone that doesn’t have said background. Do you have that background? If not, maybe you should be careful of what you claim.
If it was a ruse, it was one helluva an ongoing 3 year ruse (biggest I history – comparable to Russia, Russia, Russia) probably used to flush out Trump or patriots for future use by black hats.
The info and facts released were able to be validated to some degree every time if you took the time to confirm from credible sources.
Someone (or ‘something’), whoever they are, put a lot of well thought out effort into that.

DeSantis is my governor and has been quite effective. Trump is the reason we have broken out of the 2 party paradigm (some of us).

What I’ve been saying for months now. Not that I’m the only one, of course. 🙂 But yeah, If DeSantis supports Trump in the run-up to the 2024 election, campaigns with/for him and all the rest, he’ll likely win in a landslide in 2028. On the other hand, if he decides he can’t wait, and tries to challenge Trump in 2024…. he’s done. His political career will be over. Simple as that.
Which makes it even stranger that DeSantis would even THINK about running now. Sure he’s got powerful people whispering in his ear, and I’m sure his head has grown about 3 sizes recently. Trump himself has stated on several occaisions that he received phone calls from candidates saying they were offered money they felt guilty accepting because the donors were not MAGA supporters. His response has always been “take the money it is hard to come by”.
DeSantis has taken all he can get from all sources. He has donated money to Fl. congressional candidates in hopes of securing a super majority if the Fl. legislature.
Additionally, in case you are not aware, independents in Fl. are the swing vote. DeSantis must walk a fine line to keep their support. As of now they are heavily on the side of DeSantis but never underestimate the ability of the Democrats to steal, pay or otherwise manipulate a vote.
The real questions are;
can the money be transfered to a 2028 campaign?
who or what can the money be directed towards?
what will DeSantis do after re election and which direction will he take?
will he implement constitutional carry?
what is his agenda with a super or overwhelming majority in the legislature?

The admiration and gratitude that many Trump supporters had for DeSantis was damaged by that weak reaction on the federal level but not likely much in grateful Florida. This tactic was a big mistake for DeSantis rather than being honest and open about his intentions to follow his donors orders–it appears at least–and appearances are important in politics.
President Trump’s Truth Social comment and link to the BI article is a brilliant Trumpian way to finally acknowledge the realty of the competition between the two and it exposed the dubious sources of donations to a so called Trump 2.0 Gov. It also damaged some of the trust outside Florida in the Governor’s reasons for running. What are DeSantis’ real priorities and which policies are being implemented just to benefit his anti Trump donors and POTUS political ambitions?
It’s like the NBA rookie who has been compared to MJ and believes it so much that he can’t wait to go against MJ to find out Michael Jordan is in a different stratosphere of greatness he has never dreamed to experience. Im not buying it. Florida has an unlimited donor limit when running for state office. Federal elections have a 2,900 donor limit. It would be illegal for Desantis to use any of this money to run for president.

I appreciate what Governor Desantis has done in FL, and the decisions he has made. I want him to stay right where he is. If I still lived in FL, I’d vote for him for Governor, but my vote goes to President Trump for President.
