Mid-August CTH noted, “amid all of the headline warnings about inflation and prices of essential products, CTH notes that if we are to continue waiting about six months, we would see a massive backlog of unsold goods and as a consequence the prices of non-essential durable goods would begin a rapid decline. That exact scenario is about to unfold.” {link}
Today the world’s second largest appliance manufacturer, Electrolux, announced a collapse of corporate earnings -the result of the western alliance economic contraction- leading to major cost cutting and future incentive programs. [Announcement Link, emphasis mine]
(Electrolux) – […] Market demand for core appliances in Europe and the US so far in the third quarter is estimated to have decreased at a significantly accelerated pace compared with the second quarter, driven by the impact of high inflation on consumer durables purchases and low consumer confidence. High retailer inventory levels have amplified the impact of the slowdown in consumer demand.
In combination with supply chain imbalances resulting in significant production inefficiencies and increased costs, the third quarter earnings for the Group are expected to decline significantly compared to the second quarter 2022 also excluding the one-time cost to exit the Russia market. This has been driven mainly by Europe and North America. Business Area North America is expected to report an operating loss in the third quarter exceeding the loss in the second quarter.
Since market demand for 2023 is expected to continue to be weak in both regions, the Board has today decided to initiate a Group-wide cost reduction program addressing both variable and structural costs. The program, which starts immediately, will focus on reducing variable costs, with special attention to eliminating cost inefficiencies in our supply chain and production. The structural cost reductions will primarily take place in Europe and North America. (more)
Keep in mind, this is not necessarily a collapse of total global economic activity; what we are seeing is a collapse of western nation economic activity that is impacting the rest of the world. A great economic fracturing is taking place as the western nations intentionally shrink their economy. The supplier nations are feeling the consequences.
Keep in mind, South Korean factory output is now negative (electronics etc). European factory output is now negative (industrial equipment). Japanese factory output has dropped dramatically, and U.S. factory output has stalled. All of these issues overlay the statements by Maersk that shipping is not needed.
The western economies are contracting in response to the collective energy policies of the Build Back Better climate change agenda, and the high cost of energy that comes from stopping energy production.
Energy production in western nations has been slowed or stopped (Build Back Better). Western nation inflation is being driven by higher energy costs as a result of less energy products being produced, oil, coal, gas. Western banking groups have raised interest rates to slow down the economic engines to meet the drop in energy production.
All of this is being done with intent, purpose and control. This is a managed decline.
LET’S GO BRANDON!!!! And the UNIPARTY bastards who make it all possible.
How could the Economy be shrinking with job growth ? Un-productive job creation = Inflation. And that’s exactly what we’re witnessing.
Don’t you think 87,000 new IRS agents might hamper the Economy and be very Inflationary ! They’re really an Anti-productive job ! Worse than a welfare recipient !
Ahem…diversity and inclusion trainers…
I probably saw this here so want to give credit where it is due. “81 million votes and I have yet to see one build back better” hat.
No hats, no T-shirts, no flags and no yard signs! I frequently travel between OK and AR about 5 to 6 hours on the road, and all along the way there are Trump signs, and some still from 2020 with “Pence” marked out – but all flown proudly, including 1 giant billboard along I=35 south of OKC declaring “Trump 2020”.
Although I have seen several FJB’s, not one hat, t-shirt or yard sign.
I live in the heart of oil country , Gulf Coast. I made a two block trip yesterday. I saw one pick up truck with a TRUMP2024 wrap and a truck with the back window painted TRUMP 2024.
That was in a four block round trip.
I really should get out more.
TRUMP 2024 OR BUST.
Here in OHIO the MAGA movement has not waned from what I can tell.
Certainly small-town and rural areas, which we tend to frequent in the western half of the state, i.e. from Toledo through Dayton and Cincinnati, and less often in the eastern part, are full of TRUMP signs of all kinds, along with ANTI-BIDEN signs, some of them rather offensive. 😉
We had a garage sale last weekend, and a woman from the Youngstown area talked with me about the poseur running for U.S. Senate named Tim Ryan, who is a DEM from the Youngstown area, and whom she angrily called “the biggest, worthless liar” in recent days.
Why? Via his T.V. ads, he is desperately trying to make people believe that he is an AMERICA FIRST quasi-TRUMP supporter!!!
At no time do we learn that he is a baby-killing DEM in his ad: “I supported President Trump’s attempts to bring back manufacturing jobs to America and Ohio.”
His opponent is J.D. Vance, whom the RINO Party in Ohio barely helps or supports of course, because President Trump endorsed him and he won the nomination!
Anyway, although the large cities have their majorities voting for The Manchurian Marionette, it is basically impossible to see any open support for him.
In fact, I have seen more shriveling bumper stickers with “FEEL THE BERN” (one of the most disturbing and disturbed slogans ever!) than anything else from the DEMS.
Any insight into Holmes County?
We were there back in the Spring for a Saturday: the Amish do not usually get involved in politics, but we overheard some things in various little stores which were definitely pro-Trump!
Among the non-Amish, yes, TRUMP signs were much in evidence, and NOTHING but negatives for The Manchurian Marionette! 🙂
Thanks. I hope they GOTV. I heard that one of the Amish elders in Pennsylvania whipped up a cadre of Trump voters in 2016. He was disgusted at the thought of Hillary Clinton as POTUS.
I’ve read that the Amish are the fastest growing demographic in the US. Fine with me.
I cannot imagine the The Amish would support baby-killers who want to see Western Judaeo-Christian Civilization destroyed.
Yes, the Amish tend to have families with children, rather than replacing children with dogs, and we welcome their support!
Thanks for the Ohio update. I have two lifelong friends in N Canton. They are older than I am, by about 15 years. We haven’t spoken politics since the ovomit days. I begged them not to vote for him. The husband promptly lost his steel mill management job. He was forced into early retirement. It was a nightmarish time for them. But they did end up ok.
They never admitted I was right and I never said told you so.
Since they know me so well, they know i would have been all in for PDJT. Their silence was deafening…..so I am relatively sure they didn’t vote for him.
In my ‘hood of iL, white mostly, higher income but not affluent…no signs whatsoever other than the occasional “Pritzker Sucks” sign. One neighbor has a sign that announces their son is a US Marine.
“Pritzker sucks” sign counts as a “Trump rocks” sign, right?
I live in Illinois also. I only see signs for local races.
There are so many crazy liberals in my formerly conservative
town that people are afraid to display Trump signs in their
yards (I had three stolen in the last election). These crazies
will trash your home and auto.
Thus, we all put up American flags. I suspect that most
homes with American flags displayed are Trump supporters.
Joyce: The last two summers, I drove from LA to the NJ Shore and back. Trump signage and flags were evident clear across the country, east of urban CA and west of of NJ. No Biden signage. Lots of Brandon signage.
Same on I-70 between Denver and St. Louis.
Trump signage, yes.
Biden signage, no.
Branden signage, explicitly yes.
Same in Texas, along with pristinely preserved Trump signs.
In Wisconsin they still have Trump/Pence signs and
“Pence” is blacked out. I find that hysterical.
I drive through rural WNY and WPA and I see Trump signs that have never been taken down and new flags going up. A few Ukraine flags and fewer and fewer of the In my house..BLM signs which indicate Democrats. No Biden signs. No one will own this guy. He’s a disaster.
If you ever get up to Maine check out the Trump ‘wall’ on Rte 220 in Waldoboro. It is so impressive and the site of numerous rallies. Trump signs have stayed up since 2020.
Trump won
Same in rural NE Georgia. Have seen only 1 FJB sign since his theft of the election. Numerous Trump signs including barns custom painted, old 2020 signs with Pence covered up, a great many ridiculing FJB.
Amazing to see the change as one drives toward the leftist mecca of Atlanta. Interestingly though, while you still see a lot of virtue signaling mask wearers and Tesla drivers (other EVs are just beneath most Atlanta drivers), there are NO FJB signs anywhere.
It seems they will still vote as they are told but they do not want to advertise it.
I saw two bbb ribbons on flowers in a cemetery.
Ah, one of Bidens most loyal demographics.
Yeah, those suckers vote like their lives depend on it…
…Uh…
…Wait…
But I see “biden did that” stickers all over gas pumps and in grocery stores everywhere …
Build Back Better. Build what? Backwards? Better get the nations shiff together?
Read an article today that stated the EU is so worthless they lost a war they are even in.
“,…aren’t even in.”?
great line.
Thank you for that I laughed so hard I think I pulled something in my gut I needed that
R.D.
Better for whom?
That is the obvious retort to this foolhardy plan. The elites will get crushed too, but they will be content to rule over the ashes.
Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven….
So says every malignant excresence who has ushered us into this age of unadulterated psychotic evil. For them heaven is what they say it is. And for them, per possibly the worst of them all, Yuval Noah Harari, there “is no God in the clouds. We are the gods now”
…and yes, he actually said this.
I beg to differ on both counts.🙏
Amen. Right beside you. Harari slithered here straight from the pit of Hell.
Yes sir. There is no other place he could have come from.
The guy makes my skin crawl.
You have to knock on heavens door…Hell let you walk on in and no cover charge.
“Backwards? “
All the way to the Dark Ages apparently.
I have consistently asked, how THEY THINK their game will end…… the illegals will their peasants? Hah, I think not a chance. They are meaner than us good guys. I will probably be gone by then. But best of luck to these crazy people who think they are our betters. Let the games begin.
Unless , of course,we turn from our wicked ways and God sees fit to save us.
You last paragraph should be first! Well done for recognizing this is not a human war as much as it is spiritual.
What’s spiritual about double the gas price?
If all this wasn’t so serious, especially for those who are lost and going straight to hell unless they humble themselves, seek God’s free gift of forgiveness and repent of their sin and thus be a new creation.
As to your comment, I am reminded of a verse saying something about pearls…..
Yes jarhead you are correct.
I very much realize its a spiritual war.
There is no one but God. There has been some very evil things go on ….. Right here in my very small town…..things we would have never thought could happen here. All since biden was installed. Its like the evil is oozing out ….of every village, town and city.
I am hoping PDJT is part of the earthly battle…..with an assist from God of course.
Matthew 24:36-42.
God saves those who have rifles…and use them.
Have you ever used one against another human who also has one and seeks to kill you?
You continue to make these kind of Red Dawn rather flippant statements from the comfort of your keyboard but as I continue to politely ask, have you ever been in actual ground combat?
On Gates of Vienna…
https:/gatesofvienna.net/2022/09/an-ice-age-descends-on-german-industry/
It’s not just Sweden. This article explains how Germany has murdered the industries and businesses within their country. It is brutal. Of course the tea leaves showing the future in the US of like industries and businesses are not being read or reported. When it comes, most people here will be totally blindsided.
The afterword by the translator is likewise brutal, wherein he/she has renamed “The Great Reset”…accurately I feel…” The Great Genocide”.
I can recommend this article for a raw view of just how far and how fast things have disintegrated in Europe as well. It seems there is nothing to break their fall into the deindustrialized Dark Ages with the concomitant misery and deaths this winter.
Sorry….
https://gatesofvienna.net/2022/09/an-ice-age-descends-on-german-industry/
Thanks! I used to go there daily, and for some reason, I had totally forgotten about that site — and had not been there for the past few years.
Most welcome. These days as events spiral out of control there, it really is for me a must read every day.
Likely because the Propaganda Ministry has been so thorough in nudging attention away from real terrorists like islamists in favor of the mythical l”right wing terrorists” the DHS and FIB keep gaslighting us with.
Thanks for the link, Germany appears to be very bad shape. The lights appear to be going off by October 1.
You’re welcome, Ninja7. It seems there will be no “Building Back”, better or otherwise. And we here are standing in the queque waiting our turn.
More like standing in the chute leading toward the slaughterhouse as we enjoy that next tasty morsel of entertainment gleefully provided by big Tech, sports leagues and TV and Netflix, .. erm I mean grass.
Sadly true. Those who have lined up for every diktat willingly, and cursed those who haven’t obeyed, smelling as they did that something was very wrong, have walked willingly in today’s gas chambers…no boxcars needed.
Is that harsh? It is. And it is true.
Spot on. It is reassuring to see others with a true understanding of evil as it has occurred throughout history when humans turn from God.
I have seen real evil around the world during my 33 years as a Marine. From my experience among civilian Americans since my retirement and since beginning my second career in law enforcement, very very few Americans have even an inkling of what real, rather than that shown in movies and on TV, evil looks like.
It is a horror that those who have actually experienced it up close and personal can never erase from their minds and hearts.
That is likely why there are those “patriots,” even here, who “bravely” but cavalierly clamor for a “civil” w^r, the worst of the worst, with utterly no idea what they are asking for.
The law of the jungle is literally survival of the strongest, fittest, best trained and utterly ruthless psychopath.
There is no mercy, conscience, sanctity of women and children etc.
There is only remorseless, brutal bloodletting that, once started, will not end as each “winning” psychopath then becomes the prey for all the other predators who think they are stronger.
Even if these “patriots” “won,”what will they put in place of our Constitutional Republic that is founded on belief and trust in God? I very much doubt what would come after will be anything close to that.
I understand your views perfectly. I believe people…and I include us in this house…have had enough and feel powerless. Which in fact we are. A real source of frustration.
Because we stay informed not only of events in this country but events worldwide, we can clearly see what’s coming and what’s driving it.
All the talk of civil war I believe is a way to let off steam. The reality is of course we are a one party state with that party sporting two heads on the same body….corrupt, grifting, power mad and jealous of that power. They will do anything to keep it.
How long this dessication of our country can go on without the entirety of it collapsing, I have no idea. There are far too many people who still are unaware of what’s being done, but as we fail further and faster, I suspect alarm bells will go off.
In the meantime, JJH, as you know this is a spiritual war. As I say to myself God works in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform. And though we have no idea how He will work His will…not ours, His…there is no question that He is at the helm. Faith and patience keeps us calm, until such a time of His choosing when a hopefully peaceful solution is made known to us. I pray so.
God bless you for your service, from a mother of a Navy vet. And for putting your honour and your life on the line during your time in law enforcement. Men like you are some of America’s greatest treasures. Keep praying that all will keep their powder dry. Not to do so is giving the Neo fascist regime exactly what it wants. And that would be a disaster for is all. Blessings to you, sir.
Very kind. We are of one mind it seems. Very refreshing.
I do believe we are…
^^^^agreed^^^^
Blessings to you, MR.
Climate Change …. donchaknow!
All a board the gravy train!
Erm, I think they have moved on from CC to the kinder, gentler and dishonest term “sustainable” that so many younger Americans regard as pure truth.
Thank you very much, Betsy.
You are most welcome.
In order to “Build Back”, one must first “tear down”, which is what we’re seeing right now, on a global scale. FJB!!!
I got something Ole Joe can tear down😏
Broke Back Biden …
Add Mountain, and THAT’S what he’s doing to us.
Build back better? Before you build it back don’t you have to tear it down?
Joe needs to tear out his brain stem.
If he did do that, would we actually notice the difference?
“All of this is being done with intent, purpose and control. This is a managed decline.”
“Decline” my ass. This is a crash. It may be “managed” for now, but they suffer under the delusion of control. Once the downward trend reaches critical mass there will be no way to stop a free fall.
By the time prices on appliances fall, so many people will be out of work there will be not be enough left with an income to buy them. This is a deliberately created depression that will make the Great Depression loook like a blip.
The whole idea of Just In Time Inventory died with Chinese lockdowns. From now on you have to hold Inventory even during slow downs.
They are reaching the untensble situation where the cost of “holding the inventory” exceeds its value.
Its actually costing them more than they can possibly recover, when they eventually sell.
And there is no one left in their employ, that has any idea how to operate with a NOT J-I-T system.
I agree it is NOT a “MANAGED decline” it is precisely like trying to “manage” an avalanche, and NOT AT ALL like a “controlled demolition”.
As for “what they THOUGHT would happen” I think they fantasised they would manage this destruction, and are just about at the “Oh, SH*T its collapsing on us, RUN!” moment.
Not a clue,…
I would wholly agree except for Cloward and Piven whose great idea of a Samson-like destruction of the very system in which these tyrants also live in order to “build it back communist.”
Those who are actually wielding the levers of globalist power (and they do not include half wits like FJB and Hussein Obummer) pretty much believe in such a strategy since as usual, these atheist privileged elites somehow believe they will not be touched by the collapse they are causing.
China did this. US government thanked them.
THEY can hold all the inventory they want. It’s all crap. I’ve had to slice wires on my LG ice maker 4 times. Those bastards used the THINEST gauge wire and you need a magnifying glass to read the schematic.
LG is South Korean company but I would bet that they have manufacturing facilities in the Middle Kingdom.
Managed by the same bunch that brought us “shovel ready jobs” that never existed.
Still wondering if we will see stagflation, or something we don’t even recognize. The landscape of Western Civilization has not shifted this rapidly for 100 years.
As we are seeing them attempt something never before attempted, we may well see things never seen before, with the operative word being bizarre?
Pretty much been Alice’s Wonderland since the turn of this century.
Bizarro World meets Idiocracy.
It ain’t bidets fault! An’ anyone says it is is a turkey faced hairy nosed fingernail chewin’ trump boot lickin’….blue collar bug eyed goose poocher….
!!!!!!!
😂🤣😂🤣
Biden has alot power!
With just one angry outburst, he transformed me into a Dog faced pony soldier.
Just as I was getting used to that “Pronoun”
He had another angry outburst and made me a Ultra MAGA terrorist
Dayum
My garden fears me now!!!
LOL! My garden fears me too – especially the weeds. But they’re crafty creeps, like DementoRat politicians…
So there! Take THAT! LoL
Sundance please recognize the economic war we are in.
You often note the consequences, energy, inflation etc.
It’s not about Ukraine.
It’s not about energy costs.
It’s about Putin/Russia leading the world off the US dollar reserve system.
The West and our fiat currencies are being torched and our power is crumbling.
Study up on what happens to the country whose economy is effected by the loss of their currency as the reserve currency.
That is our future and the cause for much in our present.
You’re new around here aren’t you
Got his glasses on backwards…
😆 Uh, probably at least a little….
I just went up and typed “reserve currency” into the CTH Search bar. There were 10 articles on the first results page.
Vlad got’em by the nuts….walked right into it…(intentionally) oblivious global warming and green new deal bullshit done poisoned that brain…toss out some hen scratch so the leftists don’t freeze to death this winter….hungry and cold
Too late for fracking THIS winter…maybe next…and that is questionable…how many Europeans are going to freeze to death this year behind leftist bullshit?
Lots, unfortunately
None. Tell it to Eskimos
Really, there’s this group of folks north of the Arctic Circle, seem to handle cold quite well.
You might want to enter the words “reserve currency” in the CTH search box and peruse the results, which are not in chronological order.
Ha! And I might want to read ahead a little before I dispense advice… 🤦🏼♀️ 😆
Hahaha
And you telling Sundance exact what???
Read here for a few months and you will move from Cocoon to Butterfly
😉
Nope. We are Americans, we’re gonna get through this, cause although we may not be the smartest, we are the strongest pipe hitting SOB’s the world has ever known.
It’s the sanctions.
Most of the Russian banks have been barred from the SWIFT system. The Russian dollar and euro reserves have been frozen (stolen). If the collective west wants to conduct business with Russian entities or the Russian government, the exchanges need to be handled in rubles or the Russians won’t get paid.
The Russians are not stupid. We can’t say the same for western leaders.
BTW, stealing luxury yachts and sports teams from Russian oligarchs because they are Russians does not sit well with me.
The “economic war” is actually “merely” one front in a multi-front TOTAL war that many Americans, including many “patriots” seem to think is only a war of their “convenience” such that they can pick and choose which parts they will engage in.
This way they can avoid even inconvenience and certainly not have to change anything in their spoiled lifestyles that is actually giving aid and comfort to our mortal enemies.
“But, but, gosh, that might mean I would have to leave (anti) social media, stop slavishly following sports or watching just about all other ‘entertainment’,” all happily provided by our mortal enemies to keep getting us to compromise, rationalize or otherwise avoid doing anything that could even slightly inconvenience us.
This is like that crock of BS “Patriot Act!” Nothing patriotic about that act! Mis-label it so the Uniparty can hustle money off of it! This gets old fast!
No. The Patriot Act was aptly named. It was originally designed to hound patriots. Just like after the election you heard them say time to “heal”, when they really said “heel”. The recent inflation reduction act is really designed to target your IRAs. They laugh at us.
Just like in the Atlas Shrugged movies, right in front of your eyes. It seems prophetic, had ms rand not lived through it.
People really do not want to listen do they “antiDave”.
Perhaps the next best thing to do is to find your own “Galt’s Gulch” and hunker down until it is over and then resurface like Hank Reardon and Dagny Taggart and the rest of the competent survivors were forced to do at the end of Atlas Shrugged.
Come out when the losers and takers have destroyed everything and finally fought it out until they are thinned out and almost gone and it is “safe” as the resident’s of “Galt’s Gulch” waited.
There is only so much the thinkers and doers can do to save the world.
I been in the Gulch for 5+ years now, out of the pestulent city for 10.
As I left, I said I was going looking for a nice place to sit back and watch “the end of the world as we know it, aka the collapse of civilisation.”
May well be thats what we are seeing,…let go, let God.
Me too Dutchman.
We must be quiet about this though so the rampaging losers do not find us.
I do not have a John Galt force field to protect me and my family from the destructive losers who will try to come and take from us what we have in our nice well stocked private “Galt’s Gulch”.
But you are right, let go and let be come.
And God Bless those who will ask and Receive.
Dutchman, I have a front row seat in iL….I should be selling tickets!
“And I feel fine…”
Hold on tight as the economic death spiral created Old Joe Benito Bidet and his gang of flunkies continues.
If only I needed an appliance…
Electrolux needs to embrace the suck and make an ad campaign for their vacuum cleaners. Buy Electrolux, it sucks better than the economy (or Kamala)
That would be some level of suck for sure!
They actually had an advertising campaign “nothing sucks like an electrolux” but that was in Australia before sucks attained a more colloquial meaning.
I used to say the best vacuum cleaners actually suck the most.
Similar to my 2008 McCain yard sign:
Vote for McCain; He sucks Less!
Unfortunately now we know that was sort of a tossup…
Suckulent for sure
Just one?…Buddy Heater, extension hose and as many 20 lb (full) propane bottles as you can afford…plus a camp stove
…and a big crawfish pot…
…and a way to vent the carbon monoxide
I don’t know if this that Sundance describes is why,…but.
My old style window A/C stopped working. I already planned to replace it with the newer “dual inverter” type, that you can run on solar.
Found the one I wanted, for $575.00, ships in two days.
Found another supplier, same unit, $350, takes 2-3 weeks to get.
So, I ordered 2, one to install, 1 to store for 3-5 years down the road when the 1st one takes a crap.
Probably cost $1000 by that time, if even available.
And yes, I really like the newer dual inverter type.
I better order my grain mill, as the warehouse outfits start discounting.
I bought a Mighty Mill 3-roller grain mill from howdybrewer.com. It is a manual device but you can use a power drill instead of elbow grease.
You can legally buy a nice stainless steel still online. Then learn to make your own moonshine to barter with/s!
If you only needed an appliance that is a specific type, color and in stock…you can buy any appliance you want, as long as it is a specific dimension and in stainless…otherwise it is out of stock, no ETA!
We’re back to channeling Henry Ford. You can have the car in any color as long as it’s black.
There were times in the abundant 80’s when my younger self got a teensy bit annoyed at dealing with so many retail choices.
Then with my family I visited East Berlin for a day.
Never had a thought of a complaint about our abundancy since then…
Bernie the commie said he didn’t understand why we had any choice at all at the grocery store…no need for multiple brands and sizes of anything…Or should I say “3 house bernie”!
My favorite part is when the regime comes out and uses this stuff as “proof” about how good the economy is.
Yeah, the oceans are rising and inflation is receding.
So You BELIEVE This Dribble from the Washington Post ?
…” And closer to the Potomac, rising sea levels mean that king tides will sometimes flood the riverbank in Old Town. “…
( There’s SO MUCH CRAP in the BELTWAY that They Pollute THEMSELVES with Combined SEWER and RUNOFF – BUT – ” the sea Levels are rising ” )
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/to-clean-up-the-potomac-engineers-are-digging-a-2-mile-tunnel-under-it/ar-AA11Ja68
I think she left off the sarc tag….
But the government says we’re not in a recession.
And they always tell the truth…
We’re not. We are in a depression. See what I did there. HeHe
well I have a 25 year old refrigerator that still works but I’ve thinking for sometime of replacing it before it goes out…think I’ll keep waiting a bit
Keep the old one. I know 3 people who have new ones and they went out in less than 2 years. The new appliances are all garbage.
Yup. We bought a brand spankin new over/under fridge/freezer and 30 days before the warranty ran out it STB. They came and put in a new compressor and some sort of coil(?) and I then bought (for cheap) an extended warranty for another two years. It’s amazing the junk they make now!!!!
You’ll be replacing with a crappy one that has a life expectancy of 5 to 10 years…I’ve asked several appliance sales and repair people and that’s the number! Let’s keep filling landfills with this cheap garbage! Keep your old one and LGBFJB!
Appliances generally don’t end up in landfills. They are fairly high value recyclables. However, your sentiment is correct. They do not last.
Funny that…we have to “pay” for it to be “disposed of”?
Actually, in most places you don’t. You can drop it off at any commercial recycle center that pays for scrap. You know, the ugly places in the industrial areas that have piles of metal things. Also, in my community there are several charities that will pick them up for the scrap value that will go to the charity. Ask around. It is the local Boy Scout group here that will take them. Finally, in the place where I owned rental property, I would leave them on the street with a sign that said “FREE.” Usually did not last until dark. Exception: things with Freon like AC and refrigerators. Those have a disposal fee if they still have the Freon in them. A bit of target practice can often take care of that.
A ONE YEAR warranty, is all.
If you get 5-10, on a new appliance I would be VERY surprised.
Get the old one serviced, and keep using it.
Yep.
Save it!! My fridge is a 32 year old Whirlpool that will simply not die and I am perfectly okay with that…I know EXACTLY how old it is because we bought it when we moved into our first house, with the last $1000 we had. We had great and grandiose plans to rebuild our savings, remodel our kitchen, etc when I discovered I was pregnant and our oldest son was born one year, to the day, that we moved into the house. (Make God laugh – tell Him your plans!)
I forget how old my chest freezer is. I remember moving it when we moved here. In 1978.
Our Sears chest freezer lasted forty years, from 1975 to 2015. We bought our current Kenmore fridge and Kitchen-Aid dishwasher in 1996; still going strong (knock wood!). Appliance guy says eight years is about average these days.
thanks for the advice, this one’s an Amana..I’ll keep it
My kenmore is from 1994. looks ok and still works. I am happy until it quits working.
Even Maytag is not as good as it used to be. A few of my friends bought new washers and both ladies have problems with the products and say the clothes don’t get fully clean.
I purchased a Maytag dryer and it is a flimsy tin can and doesn’t dry as
well as my old one; seems to take longer. Then I found out Maytag was purchased
by Whirlpool. There went the quality!
What happens when a mid-quality (or low) company purchases a higher quality
company?- for an example. The higher quality product uses 14 gauge (thicker)
washers in the manufacture of their product. The lower quality product
uses 20 gauge (thinner) washers. They don’t want to keep separate inventories
so they downgrade many of the components of the higher end.
All being done to cause a total collapse of all hard currency. This will lead to the pre-planned solution of CBDC, Central Bank Digital Currency. This new electronic fiat will allow complete control of all spending, everywhere, for everyone, on everything. Want to buy that new TV you’ve been looking at? So sorry, your entertainment CBDC allotment has been used up already. Doesn’t matter that you had X amount of money saved up, or that you used to make plenty of money to be able to afford such things.
You will own nothing and be happy…

That may be their PLAN, but I am confident it won’t WORK.
Even now, their plans are collapsing upon first contact with REALITY.
Won’t work in Mexico!!
Speaking of Mexico, a very high percentage of the appliances sold in the U.S. are manufactured and/or assembled in Mexico. I assume this is negatively impacting Mexico’s nascent middle-class who work in the various maquilladora companies located in Northern Mexico.
As well as a large number of electronics, car sub assemblies, and actual car manufacturing…
I agree and they will implode at some point, but the damage they cause will be immense.
Soldier Field in Chicago is going ‘cashless’.
My daughters were at the game Sunday and said
that they ran out of hot dogs by the second half,
the WiFi didn’t work and the drainage system
was apparently nonexistent as water was a running
river down the concrete steps in the stadium.
They each purchased a mixed drink and they
were $20 each.
Cashless is good because the lines move more
quickly and there is no worry about stealing
from the employees and counting the cash
afterwards. However, if the system goes down,
then there is a huge problem.
As I watch all this happen like a slow-motion train wreck, I’m starting to wonder if it wouldn’t be a good thing for the GOP to lose in November. If they retake one or both houses of Congress, it will become possible for the Dems to point at them when the structure collapses… Hey, THEY were in charge when the fuse got to the dynamite!!
It would be much better for the DemocRats to lose their ass in November and have the MAGA inspired Republicans show up in 2023 to save the day.
MAGA!!!
I’d like to see Lake in AZ, Mastrano (sp?) in PA, and Zeldin in NY, join DeSantis in FL, so we’d have a circle of strong, MAGA governors forming a ring around the country — with numerous state treasurers and AG’s all showing that we learned something valuable from the “sanctuary states” and “sue the hell our of PDT” that movement during PDT’s first term (when IL, NY, CA, and the rest were declaring they didn’t have to follow his policies.)
Those states would begin the strong states’ rights movement we need to show FJB that WE don’t need to follow BO’s policies in HIS third term….and that if worse becomes worst, we can be strong enough to keep the feds and their $$$ out completely, just as FL and some of the other states have already begun demonstrating and/or at least talking about.
Then, of course, we need to regain the House at a minimum and don’t even mess around with an establishment speaker — go for someone like Jordan who WILL hold hearings and start the oversight they were supposed to have been doing all along. Work to get PDT back in to finish what he started, in 2024, and have states so strong that if, after him, for any reason, the totalitarians try this again, the states are strong enough to…walk away.
Liked to play my dad horse shoes when I was younger and shoulder wasn’t junk. He played with one mentality. Pitch every shoe to ring the stake. Throwing an election is bunk idea.
That would be a good story to tell McConnell’s office staff.
We know it would only annoy them but in a good cause…
Exactly.
Read Kurt Schlichter at Townhall about this topic…I’m aligned with him on this! The only thing worse than getting blamed is coming back to nothing!
https://townhall.com/columnists/kurtschlichter/2022/09/12/maybe-we-want-things-to-get-even-worse-n2612858
That is what the DNC is setting up.
If we keep voting for the bad guys, how is our corrupt system going to be fixed?
You have to ask yourself, why are the eliteists deliberately destroying the U.S. economy? Is this really just the result of a cult movement about green energy and climate change?
I have to ask myself…who can stop them?
Trump
Nope. They know Green is a scam. They have to destroy the middle class in the US to take over the world. That pesky 2A is a bulwark against the elites in the US, and the US is a bulwark against tyranny (notwithstanding Deep state color revolutions). If they utterly crush the US, then they can usher in a new era of global slavery—with the elites getting the rake. What is unclear is whether Russia is creating a new east/west divide as Sundance postulates—or is Russia on the side of the elites working to hasten the transition to global serfdom. For humanity sake, I hope Sundance is correct.
The West has fallen, where will it bottom out? The election system, healthcare system, criminal justice system, educational system and financial system are dysfunctional. Food distribution system is getting hammered.
healthcare…Minnesota nurses are on strike
“Food distribution system is getting hammered.”
Just wait until the railroad system goes on strike in the next couple of weeks! Yikes!
It stands in the way of globalism.
Greed is the root of all evil!
They exploited us for 60 years and each passing year the greed grows.
They are junkies fixed on getting more and more.
They are not going to stop taking from the cookie jar just to be sure to have cookies tomorrow.
They need their hand slapped and the cookies locked up
Greed is a factor but hunger for power, I believe, is a larger one.
I think you’re right – but perhaps not only for the reason of the allure of unlimited power.
Power beats greed because if you have power, you can take what you want – in addition to having power over the ‘serfs’.
They are Marxists. That is what they do. It’s all about consolidation of power.
Wait until they start eating each other. There can only be one A$$ at the top.
It’s complicated, and multi-factorial, but to my reckoning it centers around two issues. First, is oil. Saudi Arabia is about to run out of the cheap, surface oil that has underpinned the petro-dollar since the 70’s. This has long been understood and anticipated to occur right about now. It’s no accident that all the UN “Agenda 21” and “Agenda 30” plans for a new world order focus on this time frame. This does not mean the Saudis are running out of oil. It just means they are running out of the cheap stuff, without which the petro-dollar cannot exist. And after the Saudis, guess who has the biggest reserves of super cheap, easy to extract oil on the planet? Oh yeah, that would be Russia. Too bad for the petro-dollar that Russia is not an easily captured lap dog like Saudi Arabia, or maybe we could go on with the present order for another century. But I digress.
The second issue is more complicated, but it has to do with the inability of central banks to effectively raise interest rates going forward without collapsing the monetary system. In past crises, banks have always been able to raise rates drastically to avoid the edge of the cliff. But I’ve seen graphs (I don’t have a link offhand, sorry) which plot fed interest rate hikes over time. The spikes on those graphs correspond to various financial downturns, and the peak of those spikes has been on a steady, linear decrease for decades. As of right now, that downward sloping trend line has reached the zero bound. In other words, central banks are at the end of their ability to control the present system.
All of this is to say that the present system has reached its expiration date. It is incapable of continuing in its present form. So, if you are part of the elite who control the present, failing uni-polar system, and you are not willing to abdicate power to a multi-polar system controlled by different interests, what do you do? Simple. You just blow the whole thing up, with the intent of taking out any emerging competitors (i.e. BRICS), then build the whole thing back, but “better”. And what does “better” mean? It means hoarding all the remaining natural resources for yourself and your global military while the rest of us get to eat bugs in coffin apartments. This is why ANWR has not been drilled, which by the way, is the next biggest source of cheap surface oil after Saudi Arabia and Russia. That’s being saved to fuel the military apparatus that will be needed to enforce the new world order on the other side of the great reset. And the pretext for holding back reserves like ANWR is…you guessed it…the whole climate change agenda.
So hopefully now it is clearer why the West has been so antagonistic for so long to a sovereign Russia, independent of Western control. Russia’s cheap oil poses an existential threat to the now dying petro-dollar hegemony. And perhaps now it is also clearer why the climate change narrative became prominent when it did. For the elite interests controlling that narrative, it has absolutely nothing to do with climate and everything to do with resource control. If that level of control is ever achieved, the narrative will be jettisoned and the true believing useful idiots will be liquidated. Can’t have them criticizing your new world order when the remaining oil is brought back online to power the surveillance state, and the rest of us don’t get any.
We are at the end of a system that has enjoyed dominance, if not outright total control of the world for about 500 years. There will be a titanic struggle to determine what emerges afterward, of which we are in the beginning throes. And the climate change canard is just one of those throes.
It has nothing to do with climate change.
It’s about maximizing profit.
Another FUBAR from Joe.
Blaming Xiden is exactly what the puppet masters want you to do.
Xiden is where he is for the purpose of taking the fall when it all collapses.
Xiden is a smoke screen. Don’t fall for it.
Wow, someone else calling him Xiden. I thought I was the only one.
Good point on his puppethood.
“the Board has today decided to initiate a Group-wide cost reduction program addressing both variable and structural costs”
Parts now sourced in the USA will be sourced in china. Manufacturing jobs will be offshored.
FJB
Speaking of this….did anyone else read in the so-called “inflation” bill that the new corporate taxes will NOT affect the banking, investment, and real estate areas…and WILL fall heavily on the manufacturing sector? I was flabbergasted when I read that. You always know there’s a trick– I figured they were just lying completely, but no, there IS an increase in corporate taxes (and everybody else’s, too– check out the charts– what a lie!)– but certain sectors are “excluded.”
Blackrock could not allow itself to be inconvenienced by taxes.
And they’re running the gummint now.
Yes, for the Rothschilds. No wonder we had the flags lowered to half-mast for as one NBC talking head said, “our queen.” I turned to my spouse and asked, “since when do we have a queen?”
Punishing success?
Propaganda persists: Today marketwatch reports, “Consumers expect prices to keeping cooling…”
Utilities, food, gas, etc. keep rising in my world.
The “One-time cost to exit the russian market” is not a single point of pain. There is nothing being moved to replace the energy source so the pain will just keep on coming without relief until the problems are removed. Those problems being the fascist-socialist-communist-globalists controlling the EU.
What these company leaders have to worry about is some Peon who has lost his job, his house and his family goes postal on the companies. You just know it is going to happen. But this time they will probably target the big guys.
Electrolux is large, but not among the top 5 appliance manufacturers. Rankings vary somewhat, but, two rankings that I checked place Electrolux at #7.
Panasonic
LG Electronics
Haier Electronics Group (China, bought GE Appliances and markets GE under license)
Gree Electronic Appliances (China)
Whirlpool
Bosch-Siemens
Electrolux
European appliances sold in the US tend to be higher-end and among the most expensive.
This list is not correct. Missing Samsung?
Panasonic? Not #1 for major appliances. Perhaps larger in overall size including industrial products, aviation, etc.
Arnold: I don’t know why Samsung was missing and Panasonic came up first in two separate rankings. Yet, these days, most appliances contain a lot of electronics.
It’s really a damn shame that the Republicans are so stupid and mean mean spirited.
This is just one of many great campaign issues that the midterm GOP candidates should be running on, but they’re not.
Instead many of them seem to be taking the bait and going after the phony and losing “abortion issue.”
The economic collapse of our country is a direct result of the degenerate in the White House’s policies or rather, those that are being pushed on us by his puppet master.
Where are all the GOP campaign ads about this?
Instead, I see articles like this one in American Greatness, scolding our President Trump for promising to pardon the J6 political prisoners. WTF is wrong with these ass clowns??
https://amgreatness.com/2022/09/12/republican-senators-criticize-trumps-promise-to-pardon-january-6th-protesters/
…mis-educated…
The “Republicans” would rather killary had won then PDJT
Wannabe Globalists in training.
I respectfully disagree, I don’t think they’re stupid at all and know exactly what they’re doing.
This is the state of the GOPe today, if you’re a MAGA candidate, ( at least in the Senate ), go to Trump for donations because we won’t give you any.
GOPe leadership is also saying, “if we lose ? Eh, no big deal, we’ll lose gracefully with a smile on our faces.”
They have adopted a loser mentallity and don’t even hide that fact anymore.
… “what we are seeing is a collapse of western nation economic activity that is impacting the rest of the world.”
If the global elites were attempting to only collapse those parts of the economy that are a threat to their power play on the “serfs” of the world, what would they be doing differently? If the answer is NOTHING, that should be all the answer we need!
This Renegade Mind substack article by Laurence Flynn titled “A Cold Dark Winter is Coming, Got Firewood?” is a thought provoker:
https://renegademind.substack.com/p/a-cold-dark-winter-is-coming
It’s a damn shame more people don’t read CTH. Then again, if more people did, then they would have to come to grips with a stark reality: our government is our mortal enemy–including BOTH political parties.
Most people simply can’t handle that much reality.
Bread and Circuses for everyone!!!
Maximus-Cassius, truer words have never been spoken! The Uniparty really, really does hate us. It must infuriate them immensely that, for the time being they need the useful idiots amongst the masses, to destroy our country. I thank G_d for the patriots amongst us like Sundance and PDJT. If we are rescued by our loving Father G_d, it may take decades before this ship is righted. Please forgive us Abba Father and set us on a path to you and YOUR Rightness, and then restore us as sons and daughters! In the name of your Son Jesus!!! For YOUR GLORY! Amen
This is precisely what occurs when entire economies are forced to stay home and decide to flee cities for suburbs and equip new digs all at once as during a lockdown. Now the companies see the slump after the binge. This is not a sign of economic collapse but part of what some companies saw. Others who lost business during the lockdown are now seeing a ramp in business most do not see. It is all part boom/bust during shutdown.
“focus on reducing variable costs”
Lay offs? Hmmmmm
No more Just In Time supplychain, NOW forced to maintain an inventory of a bunch of things. Going back about 35 years.
MAJOR Truck Stop in Northern Indiana is ” Cutting back on Employee Hours ” – this I was told by the Morning Guy at the Counter SATURDAY.
( COULDN’T SAY WHY, it’s a 24hr Facility – Tho the Cleanliness has Suffered and Inventory of the Goods in the Store is slack compared to NORMALLY FULLY STOCKED ).
The whole linked article reeks of lingo that leads in that direction, especially with the ‘stock buybacks’.
Who in this country buys Electrolux ?
Electrolux decimated employment in many states and I know absolutely not one person who owns anything of theirs.
The also sell under Frigidaire and Westinghouse brands, among others.
Electrolux sells mostly Frigidaire branded appliances here in the USA.
On a side note… still stuck in moderation. I even tried a slight mod on the user name. No bueno.
I just checked the lists again, and you’re definitely not being purposely moderated.
Maybe it’s the deep state?
I appreciate the update though.

Are you trying to pull my leg?
I’ve not heard nor seen of any indication elsewhere that any of this is accurate.
That’s Q stuff. All these folks are dead, body doubles, etc. Only thing is, they list the same folks a couple of times in different years 🙄
Posts it regularly, its b.s. wishful thinking I guess.
ignore
I have a friend that went full deep-end ‘q’ and she continues to share this same stuff, convinced it has already happened and the ‘real news’ won’t air it because they’re waiting for the new, already printed, currency to be ready. So far it’s been impossible to pull her out of that particular rabbit hole.
Am starting to think this particular psy-op is one step before delusional parasitosis kicks in; another complete mental delusion.
Real Raw News is a parody site.
Trust the plan and the white hats huh?
Let me know how that works out for you.
Ad Rem?
If I’m not mistaken, CTH is still a Q-free zone…
In which dimension did this occur ?
Hate to inform you, but you’re in reality now.
I’m sorry but I gotta call horse pucky on this!
Reason#1: don’t you think that the Liberal MSM would absolutely be losing their collective minds over this 24/7?
Reason#2: With the state of our crooked court system(s) civilian and/or military be able to (or willing) convict these treasonous scoundrel’s?
You really need to need to stop listening to Alex Jones and come back down to earth.
I mean no insult to you personally but living on hopium is self-defeating. Ask the Lord of Hosts to open your spiritual eyes. He is faithful and will surely do so!
Dude, what you have there are three lists of people with reservations for dinner at good restaurants this week.
Apparently there was a patriotic loyalty oath list that numerous well-meaning persons signed onto. Now the FBI abusers have a list of people they may wish to visit.
Be careful. Ignore Brian Cates.
So I can get my new microwave for cheap in a few weeks? Old one starts up by itself so we have to do something…
Sundance, thank you so much for your warnings on problems with our economy.
“… we would see a massive backlog of unsold goods …” – Here’s something else that might increase the backlog of unsold goods: A possible rail strike this Friday (Sept. 16) The Electrolux appliances won’t be sold, if they aren’t delivered to the stores.
See “A possible rail strike this week could lead to significant interruptions and higher prices” at https://www.poynter.org/reporting-editing/2022/railway-strike-september-2022-inflation/ .
Also see “Freight Railroads Propose Limiting Sensitive Cargo as Strike Threat Looms” at https://www.wsj.com/articles/freight-railroads-plan-to-halt-hazmat-transport-as-risk-of-work-stoppage-looms-11662997977 .
The http://www.poynter.org article says, “A strike could affect a mind-boggling one-third of cargo in the United States. A long strike could mean empty store shelves and supply chain interruptions that would eclipse the issues you saw even in the early days of the pandemic.”
Time to go shopping, and stock up (if you haven’t done so already).
Remind me, did President Trump at some point in his term head off a threatened union action that would have derailed the economy?
I have a very vague memory of something like that.
Mentioning the rail strike brought to mind the issue out in CA regarding the dock workers and a possible strike spoken of a few months ago.
Also, we are not hearing about all those ships hanging out past the anchorages in CA.
Whats with that?
Shippers are not using the ports of LA and Long Beach as much. Traffic has picked up at the Port of Houston and at the Port of Charleston instead.
Apparently, the ports of LA / Long Beach have been rated worst in the world and 2nd worst in the world according to a survey of shippers.
Sal Mercogliano reports on matters pertaining to shipping on his YT channel.

Let’s say MAGA party candidates gain enough congressional seats to make up a block they can’t ignore
and in fact, need, to pass any legislation. Could they rerail biden’s current policies?
I don’t believe we are there yet, by any stretch.
We don’t have even ONE MAGA Senator,, yet although I anticipate at least one win in Nov.
We DO have a SMALL “rump” (thats what its called!) MAGA group in the House, that WILL grow in Nov. despite Bidens mainstream Republicans best efforts.
The BEST we can hope for, in terms of controlling Congress, would take 3 election cycles, so up to 12-18 YEARS; we don’t have that kind of time.
The only exception to that would me mass resignations, due to public demand.
Fortunately, STATE Legislatures CAN be Maganised MUCH Quicker, Az already has a 1 seat maga majority, which will increase in Nov.
Trick is, FIRST Maganise the State R party, THEN you can MAGANISE the State Legislature and Gov.
So, more like 2-4 years, if we USE our inherent strength in numbers.
Well technically if ALL the states could support MAGA Fully. Six years, Three election cycles, Could take the Senate in four years. 66% veto overideable in Senate. Six years could be greater than 80%.
Problem is House, also many Democrats are going into the Repuke Party, as Sleepers (from GWP article in the last week).
UniParty foul is very well entrenched.
Believe that multiple groups are aligned, having different agendas, moving in the same general direction. Helping each other out until they don’t anymore.
Schiff happens …
WAY TO GO SUNDANCE!!! https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/108986084016201781
We’ve got some Very Special Geniuses reading here, I suspect.
👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻
What does it say ? I’m outside the country and I get a message that says:
“At the moment, Truth Social is available for U.S. users only, but rest assured, we are working hard to make it available in your country. When Truth Social becomes available for you, we’ll make an announcement. Stay tuned!”
A million Thank You’s !

Hey Ad, is there something wrong with my IP address or email?
Something is triggering every comment I make to wait for approval, and then it disappears.
Been using the same name and email since the ‘Trayvon’ days. I’m a daily reader and infrequent commenter but this just started happening yesterday.
Thanks in advance.
Rock….I checked, and I found your info on our moderation list. It was on the very bottom, so it must have been recent. You probably used some “colorful” language or made a disparaging comment regarding another Treeper….the usual reasons. It wasn’t me this time. 😉
Oh…I took your name off the list BTW. Go forth and multiply! 😀
Thanks for the speedy fix!
Way to go!
Couldn’t get any better than this. The attention is well-deserved.
Robert Barnes has mentioned a Sundance post in the past couple of months. Zerohedge picks up CTH articles too.
It shows that PDJT reposted on his Truth Social account a link to this Sundance article:
https://theconservativetreehouse.com/blog/2022/09/05/federal-judge-notes-in-special-master-order-a-quoted-doj-citation-that-joe-biden-ordered-fbi-access-to-mar-a-lago-documents/
Yippee! I have always hoped Sundance was being followed by VSGDJT team.
Gratifying indeed!
Thank you!
And at the same time because so many young people are pissing away money in college for a worthless degree, there’s a shortage of skilled people to repair appliances not yet ready for the trash heap. So what happens now when people can’t afford a new appliance and at the same time can’t find a qualified technician to work on the existing one?
I know I’ve got the technical skills to do those sorts of repairs to small circuits and all.
It can be negotiated, all with an Amish pricing standard. 😉
Yeah, those gender studies degrees are gonna really come in handy when there are no jobs left and no way to get to them, even if there were.
They can stuff them in the crack in the wall to keep out the cold, in the shack which is all they can afford, or burn them to keep warm, or use them for TP.
I was talking yesterday to a lady at church that has a washer that needs repair. She hired a handyman for some other work and asked him to look at it. He said he could fix it but does not have a license to fix appliances. The repairman with a license wants 50% of a new one, mostly labor. I work on my own appliances, learn how using web videos and parts from internet. They are not that hard to work on and parts are cheap on eBay or Amazon. It is a survival skill.
Meh, leftists never bathe or wash their clothes anyway. Who needs washing machines?
How long before we’re all washing our clothes in the creek like they did in the old days? Third world living, here we come, baby! Well, except for the uber rich political and celebrity elites, that is. They won’t be doing without anything anytime soon. How is it even remotely possible that there are people who can’t comprehend what is happening?
If the ENEmedia doesn’t spill the beans then they will remain in perpetual darkness. They like it that way. Like Hellary said, keep the sheeple “unaware and compliant.”
That’s alright everyone can go back to washing their clothes in the river with stones.
–The loony left
house prices have doubled in my area (farms, small towns near Georgian Bay) in the past 2 years. All driven by people fleeing Toronto where the average home price is over 1 million $$$.I would expect that with the planned destruction going on that house prices must follow.Maybe Blackrock and friends are waiting to scoop up all the properties that will be dumped, most people here have open mortgages or very short term mortgages, the maximum in Canada is 5 year mortgages amortized over 25 years. Those pending renewals are unaffordable.
So far, the Stock Market manipulators all democrats have been able to keep the Stock Market above 30,000. The average Joe Blutts doesn’t become concerned until the Stock Market starts trading below 30,000.
Most people say, “I have a financial Planner, so I don’t have to worry about it”.
that is what my sister says! She says “I really like the gal who
is my financial planner; she is so nice”
She asks me questions about what I think is going on and I tell her;
then, she says, “well its too late now to take my money out and
I don’t want to pay taxes on my gains”.
I live in a rural county. Early in this year I was having a conversation with a neighbor about the rising gas prices and told him about the inflation analysis I’d read here at the CTH.
He said it made sense to him and figured that most folks would just ignore the warnings and run up their credit card balances until they had none. Then they would pay attention.
He guessed entirely correctly about the credit cards – that’s been in (our side) news for weeks now.
I hope he is correct about the “then they would pay attention” part as well.
if one does nothing else, please pay your credit card(s) in full each month!
So, corporations that bought into ESG are collapsing post Labor Day, which means right on schedule. Now we know why so many CEO’s have been unloading their stocks since the beginning of the third quarter.
White House officials intervened last week as the Biden admin desperately tries to avert a national transit strike
It’s hard to buy new appliances when we are spending all of our money on groceries.
European natural gas futures have been falling steeply in the last several weeks.
As a result,
for the appliance manufacturers to move / sell a large supply of inventory, (caused by consumers having less money, due to inflation on food, energy, rent….)
the
purchase prices of some new appliances are reducing.
For instance, some people have seen an overpriced refrigerator change in price, over 2 months, from 2300 to 1900. (lowered purchase price… still too high )
p.s.
In general, due to the planned obsolescence (lower quality, lower durability, less sustainability, ridiculously more frequent replacement of new appliances compared to older appliances…)
many people are better off keeping their older, reliable appliances – as long as they work.
There can be some exceptions.
(but watch out for the american name brands (marketing tool), that are manufactured elsewhere.)
imho
Those are astonishing prices for fridges.
Took our elderly neighbors into town to buy one a few weeks ago and was gobsmacked at the prices on these things.
They were too.
They ended up buying one for $850, it was the last model for that price in the store and it was the floor model.
We had them wrap it a bit in bubble plastic and loaded the thing into our truck and took it home and set it up for our neighbors.
It was a very simple model and all they needed.
Not one that made ice cubes or talked to you.
They just wanted a simple fridge to keep some food cold and chilled.
All of the other models were computer rigged, double wide’s that were bigger than my first apartment.
After decades of residential stuff, and nary a problem, one condenser fan replaced, easy, 100 bucks for the part, I went in a completely different direction for my to die for home, side by side compact refers, like they use under bars or in apartments/hotel rooms. Don’t need big space and less to worry about in power outages or SHTF. Been doing that for nearly a decade without issue.
Simple and both cost under 300 bucks in total. No fancy controls, easy to unplug one if not needed, or even move it to a different location. Just pick it up and move it.
No more big house, no more big appliances. Live simple. I’ve been surprised how little it matters. Gaze out the kitchen window at the forest while washing dishes; no more dishwasher. Takes a few minutes. Anyway, people have choices. They’re out there.
I had a frightmare with a local retailer and a washer dryer purchase for a FL house…I had the installers back 3 times in an hour as it leaked. Turns out after much drama and a then technician being sent out, they had to take my new washer and replace it.
It turns out the tub part was cracked. It was supposed to be a brand new machine, so I wonder….
It was a Frigidaire, BTW.
Haven’t seen O N E, not a single build back better t-shirt. Why is that? Afterall, the big guy got 81 million votes.
Yes, but the dead voters don’t wear t-shirts!
I think we will see more as we get closer to the 2024 election. The stutterer in chief will instruct them to be printed with 666.
Could not happen to a better company. Grab the popcorn and watch them go broke.
Just a few things from their website – woke, green and globalist.
“Electrolux is an industry leader in sustainability. The Group has bold 2030 sustainability Goals and aims to achieve climate neutrality in operations in 2030 and throughout the value chain by 2050.”
“To create change, you need to start with yourself. “

This year’s #SPR drawdown is unprecedented.
Can the oil and gas producing companies increase their production or add drilling without federal permitting approval but instead rely on getting State permitting approval? Just wondering if that is something State governors can step in and approve since the federal government’s lack of due diligence is creating a dangerous shortage of fuel for the citizens of the individual States? Hoping some Governors in oil and gas producing States will have the guts to step in and do something like that if it becomes necessary since FJB seems in a hurry to deplete our strategic petroleum reserves.
States have say so over state lands, and they or the Feds have no say so over private lands.
My Fuehrer (Tom Wolf) did try to implement a tax on companies that frack on private lands.
