If this is a planned endeavor by President Trump and his crew, more than likely he is communicating, through files taken, just what he has that can be used against them (for any scenario negative to him and family) as they were copies. No doubt another factor can be a possibility, … that he has other documents that they aren’t certain he has -or not- that are extremely damaging. That makes them react, stall, miscalculate or expose themselves in their next move. Possibly a “stalemate” trench warfare scenario where they are bogged down and have to back off his family, other interests. The “Art of the Deal” if you will. Hopefully he’ll have them over a trap door soon.

For a former President who was illegally ousted to not have inventory and multiple copies of everything is hard to believe. Especially with his business background and history of multiple litigations.

When a court case is in DC, the big worry for an impartial Trump judgement is a pro Biden or Obama judge being chosen.

Would you want to be a lawyer for Donald Trump? Knowing you will be spied upon, like every one in Trump’s orbit. While the FBI and DOJ have an endless supply of free lawyers (you the taxpayer are paying their salaries), any free citizen will have to pay their own lawyers. The DOJ will try to bury them in paperwork, all the time to run up your legal expenses. Your chances of being audited just went up exponentially.
I saw an article somewhere that PDJT was having trouble finding attorneys just for that reason. I hope that is not the case. The one I see who was at Mar-a-Lago the day the stooges were there could win a beauty contest.
In asking for a special master, it appears that Trump’s defense is foolishly conceding DOJ’s unfounded right to even possess those items that they seized.
In other words, DOJ, through its illegal search and seizure, is contesting Trump’s right to possess those documents, whereas Trump’s defense should, likewise, be strenuously contesting DOJ’s right to have those documents in that they are legitimately the property of President Trump and that of no other!
As I’ve said in other posts, DOJ put the cart before the horse in rushing to carry out the raid because it had failed to establish their rightful ownership over that of President Trump who had legally declassified them, and, as in the case of every previous president, was organizing them for inclusion into his presidential library.
To not contest that point is to fall into a trap.
I wish I could feel better about PDJT’s strategery and his legal team. He should have announced immediately, and listened to alternative media pundits – they’re actually providing citations and legal precedent.
Instead, this response is like a gift to the DOJ/deep-state, with a “special” card, bow, and gift card enclosed. Heartbreaking.

On the classified aspect, several Constitutional experts have weighed in, that once he declared them declassified, they are.
His plenary authority is not and can not be restricted by legislation or regulation.
BUT, this has never “come up” before, and so there is no clear SCOTUS ruling affirming it.
Now, IF there WERE a court case, in which THIS was the KEY legal question, I THINK it gets fast tracked to SCOTUS, cause they are the only ones that can decide it.
AND, such a case would, possibly AUTHENTICATE the documents; how can you have a court fight over documents, and then question the authenticity OF the documents you were argueing were classified?
AND, such a case would certainly draw ALL eyes on the documents, in such a way the msm couldn’t downplay or ignore.
So, HOW do you get such a case, as YOU can’t initiate it, THEY have to.

Actually, Dutchman, there is a recent Supreme Court decision, in a case involving the Navy, which explicitly affirms that the President’s right to classify or declassify anything is “plenary.” And, not contingent upon Congress, nor him following any particular procedure, nor obtaining anyone else’s assent. The usual rules that apply to everyone else, do not apply to the President, and his powers are not subject to review.
Trump had a standing order that anything he removed was deemed to be declassified – and that order has legal effect. If the President says that something is declassified – it is. Literally because he said so. Whether or not the markings have been crossed out.

I remember a patent case where the docs were labeled as such (forget exact wording) for the judges eyes only, attorneys and attorneys assistants handling the docs, such as paralegals. The case settled so I don’t know how a trial would be handled, but it would have been.

The course of this contest are predictable. These are solely my own opinions. I believe I am informed objectively to a truth and pattern of action that is repeatedly demonstrated for anyone to see, if they step back and see the bigger picture. Here I will make my predictions about how this monumental and profoundly significand chain of events will play out. Minor details withstanding, this is how I see the issue moving towards final conclusions.
reinhart will rule in favor of the DOJ argument and massive curation and redactions of any meaningful public release of the affidavit and also internal communications that led to the formation of the predicate for this warrant. The media maniacs will narrate this as perfectly reasonable given the need to protect sources, methods, tradecraft and persons named but not subjects of any criminal allegations. This will can bank on. Reinhart was installed into this black robe for the same reasons that mueller was installed to express power: the institutions and the criminals are not to be touched. protect the USG and it’s people at all costs against liabilities and consequences for the criminal abuses of power THESE PEOPLE COMMITTED. reinhart may even order a special master. But that will NOT result in the public release of of a fully redacted affidavit or the internal communications (decision tree) that formed the predicate for the warrant.
President Trump has already filed a lawsuit representing his interest in not only retaining these declassified documents as they are vital to the interest of the TRUMP VS CLINTON (RICO) case. But he will argue that the warrant itself is a violation of his civil rights, and also the 4th amendment protecting against unlawful and unreasonable search and seizure.
President Trump will not be immediately successful against the corrupt reinhart and the predictably corrupt “special master”. The affidavit and any internal communications (decision tree) that formed the predicate that a crime had been committed and probable cause existed will be established and preserved by reinhart.
Effectively, this means the declassified documents that the DOJ/FBI absconded with this unlawful search and seizure will be legally RE-RE-CLASSIFIED by the current regime. This means that President Trump will not be allowed to enter this declassified material as evidence in the TRUMP vs CLINTON (RICO) case. (and arguably, any other case he might pursue with respect to holding criminal to account for almost 7 years of abuses of power and violations of his civil rights, due process, and namely the stolen election and coup. That is what the warrant was about and why reinhart was installed. The DOJ/FBI is using every corrupt and criminal means to AGAIN attack President Trump AND ALSO protect their own corrupt activities, many of which are demonstrably unlawful, criminal in nature.
After the DOJ and reinhart (and presumably a “very” special master) conclude about what material may or may not be released to the public AND MORE IMPORTANTLY the ultimate RE-RE-CLASSIFICATION of damning material evidence of crimes are then nearly packed away, never to be seen again, or even allowed to be entered into any courtroom. (sorry, it’s compartmentalized special double top secret spy secret!!)
President TRUMP, WE THE PEOPLE, will then strike to have this case brought to appeal.

I’m thinking they are interested in “reclassifying” certain things which is questionable as a tactic. Putting the genie back into the bottle? If I were to guess, these docs have been distributed as widely as the Hunter Biden Laptop data. I think it’s reasonable to assume his lawyers have multiple copies of this material and have already reviewed it. Whether or not they try to reclassify it, the lawyers have already seen it and shared it and it will get entered into the courts.
There is law on the books, as I understand it, as to the reasons allowed for information classification where it is explicitly stated that “to protect ourselves or to hide evidence of wrong doing” is not a reason for classification. The claim of sources and methods fail when their sources and/or methods are illegal.
