This is exactly what many people predicted would happen after the Uvalde school shooting in Texas, and the horrific police response.
With the Uvalde police response fresh on their minds, parents showed up in El Mirage, Arizona after the elementary school was locked down. Apparently, an armed man tried to gain entry to the school. The police were following their lockdown protocols and would not let the arriving parents into the building.
Scuffles with law enforcement began breaking out as desperate parents wanted to protect and save their kids. Subsequently, police opened fire on the parents with tasers then began arresting them.
This is what happens when parents do not trust law enforcement. After the horrific events in Uvalde, where the police just stood around while the kids were being killed, many people asked, ‘what happens next time’? Well, here are the consequences surfacing in Arizona:
Arizona – Several parents were shot with a Taser outside a school in Arizona on Friday while it was under lockdown, police said.
The El Mirage Police Department said in a statement on Facebook that Thompson Ranch Elementary School was placed on lockdown following a report that a male subject had tried to enter the school around 10:30 a.m. with a firearm.
“School staff contacted law enforcement and immediately implemented lockdown protocol,” the post read.
Police said that as law enforcement arrived, the person with the gun fled the premises. During the lockdown, officers began clearing the campus of any threats. A package had arrived on the scene, but it was deemed safe by explosives technicians.
“As officers continued to work on clearing the campus, parents began to arrive on [site] at the school. Several attempted to force entry into the buildings past officers. It was at this time that a male began an altercation with officers. Two other individuals joined in the altercation,” police wrote.
“Officers deployed Tasers, taking the three into custody. One person taken into custody was in possession of a handgun,” they added.
[…] The identities of the parents who were shot with a Taser were not immediately clear. NBC News reported that two of the three parents were shot with a Taser and that all three — two men and one woman — were arrested.
El Mirage police Lt. Jimmy Chavez said one of parents who was shot with a Taser was brought to the hospital to be treated for injuries, according to the network. (read more)
I mean really, can you blame the parents?
The police really need to reevaluate their community protocols accepting that a large number of parents are not going to accept, ‘sit and wait’…
I would not wait on the police under any circumstance to save my family.
Agreed. My whole family would show up, along side me.
Strap and go.
And LE would shoot you cold.
I have a pretty big family, five sons and five daughters in law, five brothers and their wives and we would all show up armed.
Then there would be our neighbors coming to get their children and their families.
Huge amounts of family members, extended families coming to get their little ones the LEO would need an army.
The Laws Must Change, John Mayall, early 70s blues tune. He sang it for a different cause, but the mechanism doesn’t change. Lyrics followed by recordings. Rock on.

Lennie Bruce was tryin’ to tell you, many things before he died…
Someone once told me about motorcycle mechanics, “no one loves your bike more than you”. That’s not to say mechanics will always do a worse job, but it does say that their priorities aren’t your’s. Is it their fault? Maybe, but it is your responsibility.
If you entrust teachers and police to protect your family then you reap what you sow there. And I’m not diminishing the difficulty of being a working parent trying to make ends meet.
But if all circumstances land with you standing outside your children’s school while an active shooter moves freely while the very cops sworn to stop him only stop you….
Then I believe you have the right to move through them with the minimum necessary force. Perhaps you have the duty to do so. Question is, are you certain that what you are seeing is neglect (like uvlade) in the moment or a good strategic response? I pray anyone stuck in that mess has proper discernment and judgment because what duty would have them do is likely to have them getting their final answer directly from God.
Woe to those who would harm the innocent, but woe to those that would protect them.
It is your responsibility. You are not punching a clock when it is time to protect your family.
EXACTLY! If a union steward showed up and told the cops that they’re now on strike, they’d holster weapons, pick up their signs and start marching. Your kids could twist in the wind, for all they really care…
Unions exist to get better pay and benefits for their members.
The name says it all- Teacher Unions.
The Teacher Unions are not about education of students.
They exist for Teachers.
That is why I always stress…
Parents send their children to public schools.
Is THAT protecting them?
In more ways than one…are they actually doing what is best for their children?
Sending them to indoctrination centers for a mediocre education?
Risking their safety ?
I have been saying for more than a decade-Homeschool, private, parochial…..Anything but Public Education School.
I agree. Parents are careless to send their children into commie indoctrination centers in gun free zones.
Get rid of the gun free zones and you won’t need any more lockdown drills.
Well said.
So thoughtful and articulated so well. Sadly, so very accurate.
If you trust the GOP …
When you need the police in minutes they’re only hours away.
Not true, only 70 minutes away…
…… taking selfies and using hand sanitizer.
Seconds count – witness the Greenwood mall shooter terminated by the good samaritan.
The kook killed 3 and wounded two more in under 15 seconds.
Lockdown protocols are the wrong approach. Always have been.
make 2 doors to every room.
I remember my elementary school, all the classroom buildings had a central supply hub between all the classrooms (four), accessed by a glass door in each room. It would serve as an escape route for every single classroom. This type of school is a large layout, single-story design. Basically modular, standalone buildings for each block of classes.
This type of design, where feasible should be the gold standard.
which lets you know – they dont want to solve the problem.
a school shooting is useful to them. the 2nd amendment is the only reason our children arent sex toys as a common playtime event for oligarchs.
NOW you’re catching on. They also want to get rid of our local police so they can send in foreign jackboots to take their place.
My wife is a teacher.
It’s absolutely the right method. WHEN DONE RIGHT.
With all due respect. When has it worked? Diets & budgets look great on paper too.
Since when is cowering in a corner, helplessly waiting for a killer to barge into the room the ‘right’ thing to do?
Teachers I know have taken their students aside and told them that they will NOT do this in a real emergency, because any idiot knows you don’t sit helplessly for an hour, waiting for the psycho to find you.
You jump out the window and you run like hell. Or you confront them and fight tooth and nail. One teacher had a closet full of baseball bats to give his HS students.
Hard to fault the parents..
Not for the police and school officials.
Local LE need to learn how to Deescalate.
Most are on a power trip and don’t like having their directives challenged or ignored.
the rule makers control the pay check takers.
“just doing my job”
every rule making position has been strategically obtained by the Enemy of You.
and every decision is governed by plausible deniability.
yep.
which is why PDJT was a killer. he assigned responsibility. and then said if A happens then B will occur to you.
He did fire Bannon.
Now all the fools on our side lap up his nonsense like a cat chewing on catnip.
From my observations cops will be patient for up to ten minutes. After that it’s batons, tazers, and bullets.
its going to escalate.
once the virus of Fundamental Change got into our system – every system will crumble.
The Right is now not trusting the Police. the Left already were. All it took was aggitation from the Obama machine to destabilize our peace officer system
Obama has nothing to do with cowardly cops that refuse to save kids.
don’t underestimate the Fed’s use of grants to LEO to push woke policies and help the wrog type of individuals to rise to positions of power. May not have affected Uvalde, but there was/is a concerted effort to infect these instutions the way the fed counterparts have been.
1966 – water cannon subsidy
1983 – drunk driver subsidy
1995 – free surplus military hardware
2002 – surveillance subsidy
2012 – intelligence on citizen subsidy
2022 – terrorism subsidy
somewhere in there is “civil asset forfeiture”
robbery by LEO legalized
The hell it doesn’t
Oh, Marc, I disagree! That gay Kenyan has fundamentally destroyed the fabric of this Nation.
And he is still doing it.
That he is. Can you imagine Bam Bam has Americans attacking 2a and defunding their own police in one fell swoop? What a bunch of morons. I can’t believe people fall for this garbage.
No, that falls squarely on Lincoln and his refusal to allow the southern states to leave. He created an empire that destroyed the Constitutional Republic.
Secession is a rightful remedy for an out of control federal government. Thomas Jefferson faced secession in 1801 as he entered office. Do you know what his reply to the New England states was?
We are all republicans: we are all federalists. If there be any among us who would wish to dissolve this Union, or to change its republican form, let them stand undisturbed as monuments of the safety with which error of opinion may be tolerated, where reason is left free to combat it. –Jefferson’s First Inaugural Address
Obama delivered the final death blow.
Lincoln had many faults and crimes but the Southern planters f’d up when they refused to realize they were greatly overmatched and would have done much better to have stayed and fought it out in DC.
Sam Houston warned Texas about this overmatch problem specifically and he was right.
One does not excuse a war criminal and America’s dictator. The states had every right to leave. Of which 9 of the original 13 had in their ratification laws a clause that said they would leave when the federal government became tyrannical.
Virginia’s ratification law was written by James Madison.
Lincoln murdered and wounded 25% of the US population for a combined tax rate of 75%.
Just like Obamacare didn’t send many good physicians out of healthcare.
Ok.
yep.
his move on Healthcare provided the frame work to mandate vaccines.
communists have a long game, since world history has been rewritten people do not realize what is going on. One of our best trips was a trip to Cuba, we lived in airbnbs and shunned the resorts, traveled by private car around the island for two weeks, our daughter speaks fluent Spanish . I assumed , but was validated as to what living under a jackboot is like.
Check out his Task Force on 21st Century Policing.
BTW – The cowardice of Uvlade police is bad enough, but they should be prosecuted as accomplices for preventing others from ending the killing.
by attacking the police system, he was able to get people to run it, those people running it starting making poor policy that result in chaos like this – that in return make the Right now not trust the system
classic CIA.
left and right not trusting the police, makes it ripe to dismantle. no peace officers = wild wild west. disarm the population and have wild wild west – you get a federal police force (FBI 2.0). and you end resistance.
The One did militarize many city police forces, giving them equipment about on par with that which Brandon left sitting in Afghanistan.
With all due respect Marc, Barack Hussein had everything to do with it and more. He demoralized & attacked the good ones, leaving us his Brown Shirt gang.
He & the Mrs. hated & continue to destroy this nation. He was more slick in hiding it.
Had the hate stream media done their job “reporting” the truth & entanglements & motives of the barack cabal, anyone who loves this country would have not been deceived.
Even now he pulls the strings on the illigitimate puppet in the People’s House.
Obama loves to throw cops in jail and let criminals out with no bail.
Frick & Frack.
We haven’t had “peace officers” in the US in decades. Police in the US have been at war with the American people since at least the 1970’s. What you see now is the out of control cops reaping the whirlwind they spent years sowing.
Do I misremember or wasn’t a parent also tazed at Uvalde?
Indeed, a woman and mother (just to be clear) was proned out on her face and ziptied.
Amazingly, the U.S. Marshal’s service was apparently there to take on parents and arrest them.
Here, I wonder who the perp is, anyone have a picture, and having fled the scene apparently, what force was used to take them into custody? Reports seemed light on perp stuff, heavier on parent stuff.
Was that gunman ever found? Let me guess. Obama had him buried at sea.
Maricopa County , of course.
Yes, west side of Phoenix
Red for Ed.
They were busted for the honest to goodness Communist leaders who tried…and are still trying to get a foothold in Arizona Schools.
They are/have been active in that area. A lot of crazy in that area.
Hat tip to fellow Treeper and the DJ Harris for enlightening many of us years ago.
Now..my next question is…has anyone looked for Agent Provocateurs among the group of parents?
Could this have been a set up?
I view any and everything right now under a microscope.
Katie Hobbs is batsh!t crazy.
Ducey just signed bill giving school choice to all.
Suspicious cat.
While I am not in favor of defunding the police, I am also not a fan of the police either.
you are conflicted like most are.
the solution is finding the rule makers – and figuring who and why. then addressing it.
Yep, this is metaphorically very similar to the street protesters who are incited to loot and burn; the ‘Organized’ Simpletons….. Work the way up the food chain to the leaders and funders and cut the head off the Hydra.
Best to have a torch handy to cauterize the wound as to prevent that head from growing back.
Scores of Antifa turds have been arrested, for years now, without detectives getting info regarding who funds them, and then putting the wheels in motion to go after those people. There is an endless arrest and release theatre concerning BLM and Antifa, with, apparently, no attempt ever made to discover the funding source of their criminal activity, and cut it off.
There’s an endless catch and release theatre playing across our land involving most any class of crime you might name. Fundamental transformation, how lovely you are to regard in the summertime.
My grown sons and I have discussed that while we harbor no animus personally to our law enforcement, should the time come when they come for our weapons, it will be them that kick in our doors.
If that were true, the msm wouldn’t be so hellbent on defunding them. The msm WANT us dead.
Well said.
Whiteboard you are on a roll today. I totally agree. People bitch about whatever the msm directs them to bitch about, while overlooking obvious solutions.
Attacking 2a is NOT the solution. Defunding our police is NOT the solution.
Removing students from woke schools IS a solution. Abolishing gun free zones IS a solution. Changing bad lockdown protocols IS a solution.
Yes!
Solutions instead.
You are in the cognitive dissonance zone – everything you have learned and come to believe over your lifetime is being refuted before you very eyes, and you brain and soul balk at the circumstances. You are not alone, this is where most normal Americans find themselves right now.
Question everything, trust nothing but yourself and your tribe (family, true friends, tree people), and stand firm for what should be, in a just and free America.
Yep. We were always brought up to trust in the police as kids, whenever a bad situation was at hand. There are many good police, but the institution in general, with the exception of some Sheriff’s departments has lost my full support.
Trust, like respect, is earned. We want to trust, but that wanting has become insanity. ‘Good police’ gonna have to prove it; expectations must be raised by the ‘we’.
Jeff, your post gave me goosebumps, and also brought tears to my eyes.
I am balking at the 180° change in almost all of my foundation materials.
I grew up in Chicago~late 1950s-early 70s. I was taught to trust and respect the police. There was law and order good enough for me to walk and bike about my South Side neighborhood. Good enough for my mother and me to ride the EL train in the Loop, and walk all of the streets there and also on North Michigan Ave. without a worry.
Oh, how it all has changed terribly since those days…
Anyone remember this book? This is how I felt during those years in the last century. Not only has my foundation changed, wonderful words have been redefined to mean completely other things
Hang in here, aDoozy. Open your eyes, harden your heart, reserve your trust, keep your money in your front pocket, arm yourself, and be prepared to jump to defend your own life, liberty, and property as well as those of others who you trust.
What we grew up with is called a Trust-based Society. It was the natural order of things, because we were a good and decent, God fearing people, raised to be attuned to a thing called Conscience. We were taught by Mothers and Fathers and Preachers and Scout Leaders and Teachers and Doctors and, yes, Policemen who took it upon themselves to lead lives of honesty, integrity, and virtue. It was the price of getting by, and integrating into society, and those of us who were not spared the rod or the switch from the cherry tree (that we had to go select, ourselves) learned quickly to play by the rules. There were hard consequences for breaking rules.
The Trust-based Society has been relentlessly targeted for destruction by the ‘Left’ for more than 100 years now, and they have burned, raped, murdered and abandoned everything that we learned was sacred in a drive for absolute power. We find ourselves today at the frenzied peak of that evil activity.
What can you do? Question everything, accept nothing at face value. Allow people you meet and interact with to prove themselves trustworthy before extending moral credit. And turn off your TV. You know it is a sewer, but the old you can’t bring itself to believe that your comfy old square friend in the corner is doing you wrong. Pick up a hobby, plant a garden, learn to play music, have honest, open fellowship with other human beings, in the flesh, face to face, and build new, tribal trust-based relationships.
I firmly believe that the biggest influencer and destroyer of goodness and light in the world today is our innate learned trust of Authority in Suits. Whether on the TV, in a black-and-white cop car with “To serve and protect” on the sides, in a 4-star General’s uniform, standing behind a pulpit, whatever.
Question everything. Trust nothing and nobody but your tribe. Go forth to deal with the world armed in flesh and spirit and with a look on your face that says ‘do not f**k with me’. Reserve your smile for those who earn it. You will be alone, you will be lonely. Trust in God as the leader of your tribe, and pray silently with every step, every encounter, for protection, guidance, and above all, discernment. Look people hard in the eye, and read what is there with brutal honesty to yourself. Cultivate that still, small voice in your soul, learn to hear it, and above all learn to trust it. Engage with the world, but know that every day you walk thru the valley, in the shadow of death.
When it all comes to fire and ashes, be sure that you have set yourself and your tribe up to be in the Remnant, and begin to rebuild the birthright of Trust and Civil Society that we older folks were raised with.
We, born in the immediate post-war era, ‘Boomers’, if you will, are here now to preserve the idea of a Trust-based Society, and to testify to those who came along after us. When it’s time to bury the dead, shovel away the ashes, and rebuild the roads and buildings and churches and schools and houses and courtrooms and jails and gas stations and grocery stores, the younger ones will need us there to remind them of how it was, and blaze the trail of how it can be built again. They never had it so good, and we are here to pass the torch.
Just as our Fathers picked up rifles and Mothers picked up rivet guns and built a force of good to right the wrong in the last turning, we find ourselves now poised to be the Next Greatest Generation.
Honor the past, honor the school crossing guard and the stop sign, but but harden your heart, your soul, learn to shoot and buck rivets. We’re gonna have to build again what we have lost.
OK, i’ll stop now. God bless ya’ll. This is my Tribe.
I’m in this camp too. Desperately want strong law and order, but don’t trust a single cop, ever.
Or the FBI, or IRS
I support defunding the police institutions, but I support funding those who bring about peace and justice.
I would never trust my child’s life to these fascist, pension worshippers. It’s not just Uvalde look at Parkland.
“Pension worshippers”- GREAT! I’m gonna be using that one. Thanks!
Applicable to many – such as teacher unions and other municipal employees that suckle on the teat of taxpayers’ money.
This is what happens when the country does not trust law enforcement and the government. You can see both sides to this story. I have no idea what the answer is going forth.
Let’s listen to the ENEmedia. That should help us sort this out. /Sarc
Schools are a gun free zone, it’s a felony ya know.
Home or Independent Neighborhood schools are the answer. Get the government out of the education business.
That would be too easy.
Our Republican Gov. Ducey just signed bill in July.
6500.00 for each child that attends alternative schooling. And that includes homeschooling.
We fought for years against Red for Ed. The DJ Harris did some great investigation and revealed the communist…really..leaders of the group.
They were active in Maricopa and Pinal County.
They were basically shut down. Problem is that the Teachers who supported them are still there.
With the vouchers, parents who truly are concerned and vested in their children getting a good education-away from from public school indoctrination centers and gun free zones–this is a great thing!
After multiple incidents like this where the police have chosen to identify as useless (insert disrespectful term for lady parts)s, there may little reason to trust them to rescue our family members should they be under threat.
(I still feel some degree of confidence in backing the blue where I live, but that’s just luck of the draw.)
Worse than useless, it’s dangerous.
A lot of police are more than happy to use unnecessary force.
It has long been said that in many instances there is a thin line between
a police officer and a criminal. Some like the power a little too much also.
Police despise non-compliant parents worse even than Trump supporters.
Was this on national news yesterday…..????
If not……why wasn’t it…..????
You have to ask?
No worries we will have 87,000 new armed IRS agents to prevent these parents from protecting their children. And lower the national debt at the same time. Jail and fines.
That is exactly correct…after they attempt…I say “attempt”… to disarm us all.
Which I become increasingly convinced they have in mind as their raison d’etre. Armed and equipped with an ample supply of ammunition, as well as training on how to burst in to a residential home. And that requisite for employment the “no problem” ability to use deadly force.
Just a rhetorical question: what happens when you release 87 thousand wanna be tough guys with guns into a population with over 600 million weapons? These people are stupid.
The 87,000 IRS agents are not agents at all. People who sit behind a desk to not require tactical training. This is an internal army that is meant to supplement the FBI. Saying they’re IRS agents was a cover story for expanding federal “law enforcement”. This is all about staying in control of the deplorables through whatever means is required.
They will be activated when bank accounts are turned off for bad attitudes as happened to the Canadian Truckers and force is needed to confiscate your remaining belongings.
Police usually clean up the aftermath with handcuffs and bodybags or the instigate the violence. They aren’t superheros that come in to save the day. Those rare instances are remarkable which is why they make the news.
Definitely NOT there to help. Nothing but traffic control and local revenue agents.
Expecting people to follow directives requires respect that they themselves and other fellow LEO have worked very hard to destroy.
LEO and their families live amongst us. It’s only a matter of time ‘til that badge means absolutely nothing and the world catches up to them. They will then know that unnerving reality that no one is coming.
They will have to kill me. I am done with them and I was raised by a single dad police officer who would weep if he was alive to see what communities are having to deal with. Good for the parents and I pray for theie safety because now the threats will happen for speaking up.
Society better know we are not going to allow a psycho kid or adult who has been medicated with psych drugs their entire life to kill innocents. We will knock the door down. Parents of these kids you are on notice.
The police are in chaos. They know a lot of the public hates them and at the same time the have to do dangerous things. There is no sane way to navigate this except to be more insane.
The right is not only doing the great pretend, it is ignoring fatal cultural rot that can not be reversed in the end times.
…
It doesn’t matter what parents think. The kids are being indoctrinated into believing the government is the answer. The culmination of Common Core math which taught the children that the parents don’t have the answers. Only we do.
but “math is racist” !!!
According to the university of illinois, IIRC, “pi” is racist, as “algebra”
After Uvalde, I don’t blame them one bit. Before Uvalde, I’m sure many parents there backed their police force, or at least didn’t want them defunded like in many leftist cities.
Now? Well, enough details have come out about Uvalde to show how little that force actually acted. Unfortunately for many parents, they are affected permanently for trusting someone in authority to act.
If this follows the 2020 Communist plan, expect more incidents in battle states…. here we have Texas and Arizona. Cornerstones of traditional conservative territory under attack by the Communists.
Expect police to follow their chain of command. Where I live two detectives with their service sidearms waded into a mass shooter situation at the local CC and defeated that threat. Not heroes, just a couple city police doing their job. If memory serves eight died that day plus the shooter eating his gun. Who knows how many would’ve bought it if the detectives hadn’t showed up. That nutjob was on a mission.
This underscores how patriots need to stay on top of local. Local Sheriff, local police, local judges, local DA. Everything law enforcement. Make sure they all know we’re watching and serious about peace, law and order.
All yur kidz are belong to us…
Homeschool if you can, for God’s sake! Or relocate to an area more hospitable to parents.
We did both, in that order, back in the day. Now our children, and their children are here, too. Same community, involved in their education, and ready to protect against any adversary.
Sturmabteilung.
Schutzstaffel
NAZIS.
I am looking at everything in AZ now under a microscope.
Red for Ed has been active in that area.
DJ Harris uncovered the Communist leaders of the group years ago. Fellow Treeper gave insight and links about them years ago. They were basically shut down. But they didn’t go away. The pro Red for Ed teachers are still there.
Were there any Agent Provocateurs there? Was this a false flag event?
Then I think of Batsh!t crazy Katie Hobbs. Then the bill Ducey recently signed giving school choice to all students. Then I look at November elections….
Suspicious Cat.
P.S. I have been saying for years…Do NOT send your children to Public Schools. Homeschool, parochial, private–anything but Public Education.
I think we have to view with a gimlet eye every event like this as a potential false flag. We know now without doubt what we are dealing with. I believe these Stasi will do everything in their power to bait Americans into reacting, using such as reasons to stand harder on our collective necks until they get the result they want…martial law.
And as parents are already considered terrorists by the putrid little Marxist Garland, I believe those are the ones they’ll target.
As for Communists? They never ever go away. They just crawl into the floorboards and bide their time, as cockroaches do, getting older…and sneak back out to do their worst when that time is right. As we can now see.
Sending your kid to public school is no different than shipping a parcel via the postal service.
Once you hand it over, you ain’t gettin’ it back until they deliver it their way on their timetable. You try to intervene, you’re the bad guy.
Moral of the story: have respect for your student and don’t send him to public school.
Not everyone has the luxury of being able to afford to send their kids to private school.
Private, parochial, homeschooling…
There are many alternatives.
Right mover.
Our Republican Gov Ducey just signed bill that gives school vouchers. 6500 per child that attends alternative schooling. And that includes homeschooling.
It can be done.
Yep, BTDT, sucked on those big number school bonds assessed in property taxes plus private tuition. Learned the gig from dad working two jobs to pay that tuition. Half century or more down the road very thankful he did.
Still, there was no escaping violence. In the 60’s the police came in and taught situational awareness and self defense at our private school. There wasn’t as much gun violence as now but plenty of physical violence, of which none of us were immune. So, learn to fight or get beaten to a pulp. It was accepted. The real killing didn’t start until those of us unlucky bastards got shipped off to ‘Nam.
I won’t say I was among them but plenty of my peers referred to police as ‘fuzz’ and ‘pigs’ and in not very respectful tones. So, nothing new.
Evergreen,
“Once you hand it over, you ain’t gettin’ it back until they deliver it their way on their timetable.”
I think that could be said of anything. At best we must be there talking with our children and loved ones at every turn of the road.
When our daughter was an adult I learned that I didn’t know everything that was going on. She told me that some of her really nice friends (my belief) were not necessarily what I believed. She said she went places that had alcohol and drugs but she never used them herself.
Her reason was simple. I was always up waiting for her when she got home. We would have brief conversations about the evening before going to bed. She said she wouldn’t dare do something wrong (other than seeing people behave in these wrong doings) because she knew I would be there waiting. She believed that I would instantly know if she had used something. This took away any curiosity factor.
In today’s world of lawlessness I can understand the parent’s anxiety. Sadly it is everywhere. My granddaughter and her friend were in a mall this week and stopped and questioned by security multiple times. The security guard was questioning the high school girls about their parental supervision. The friend’s mom was next door in another store.
How do you keep a balance between safety and freedom? How do you keep a balance between securing an area to keep people safe and allowing the parent access to their child?
Oh P. S., I am not sorry the security guard was there. I think there are far too many lawless people at this particular time. At least for this week, better safe than sorry.
N C Nana,
How to keep balance between safety and freedom?
Well, that problem is for the security personnel to figure out, and among 10 different organizations, there will be perhaps a few different methods and 10 unique flavors of those methods. Bottom line, it’s their charter, and there are no easy, correct answers.
Having said that, now over to the parents’ side of things. Knowing that you are handing your kids over to the equivalent of the postal service (institutional care for the individual; i.e., don’t expect unique, above average treatment), you have subcontracted care and concern to others for pay. Their level of engagement may not be the same as yours. In the event something unordinary occurs, their ability to deal with the situation may be diametrically opposed to your method, but here is where you lose your ability to intervene: you contracted their care away to the other party.
So, the statement about not getting them back is germane. You will be in violation of the law if you attempt to repossess your property. If you can’t handle this, don’t deed your property over to the other party. Not easy to avoid if one doesn’t have the means to afford an alternative, but it doesn’t have to be private schooling.
The alternative, if communities so desired, would be to dispense with the notion that public schools are private enterprises using public resources. That is to say, if the public school were truly public, it would NOT be able to secure the students away from public access. Novel thought, eh?
Maybe the time has come to make public mean public in all regards. This would end the liability problem of protecting students from all calamities that are NOT the responsibility of the state.
Evergreen,
“Knowing that you are handing your kids over to the equivalent of the postal service”
Actually we don’t. Our grandchildren go to a private school that has high standards in all areas from behavior to dress to education to sports. Which is why I say wherever they are you must talk with them. You need to know everyday what they are doing, what they are studying, and what is being instructed.
Our daughter and son-in-law have always been very in tune with the school, their activities, and their studies. If things don’t seem quite right they contact the appropriate person. In today’s world of computers and mobile phones parents and teachers are acting as a team as the students are educated.
I have volunteered in a poor public school also and seen that side of the education system. When we started volunteering it was a failing school that was not expected to improve. After 4 years the District brought in a new principal that studied the school practices for one year then implemented changes the next year. In one year the new Principal was able to bring the school test scores from failing to C-. Then the school was closed for COVID 19. They have not recovered their momentum yet.
When the school was a failing entity the language, hand gestures, dress, study practices of the students and their parents were actually shocking. When all that miss behavior was stopped and replaced with respect, courtesy, and discipline everything came into line and the children started studying the subjects and learning.
The school where we volunteered had the lock out capabilities. You were not allowed inside the building unless you had a purpose for being there. I honestly think they were as concerned about some of the parents as they were about strangers. Once inside the foyer you went through the sign in process. All of the classrooms were also locked. If the parent was there to pick up the child for an appointment, the child came to the foyer. The parent did not go to the classroom.
Things are breaking down everywhere. It is going to take a lot of effort and discipline to set it straight. Please God help us all. Please God protect the children as their parents are correcting their behavior. Amen
Sorry to say, but the correction for bad behaviors is to precisely withdraw the security system and allow a professional staff the ability to dispense with upstarts poste haste. That does two things: 1) it removes problem students from the classroom, and 2) it telegraphs to all present on the property that no protections are offered and no assurances of safety are made–you’re on your own as though you were on the street sidewalk….which you are; you’re in public school…in public.
As far as people not being what they seem, well, who hasn’t heard the classic stories of preachers’ daughters? Anyone who knows more than a few peers likely has seen that behavior. People are very skilled at playing others.
By the way, “knowing that you are…” was not meant for you specifically. Rather, it was the general reader.
Yep.
When you’re at DEFCON 5 with a CCW biting into your hip while buying your groceries.
And, an AR9 (legal length) in a softcase always on the passenger side floorboard.
With 3 Sheriffs patrol cars on the road in our side of the county at any given time.
That’s where I’m at prep wise. Can’t blame ’em at all.
Ammo economy
DEFCON 5 is the lowest threat level.
I’d say we are at least DEFCON 3 or possibly DEFCON 2 just short of a shooting war
Who protects the children in school while the curriculum and some teachers are killing their minds?
I would not wait
Momma’s, homeschool your children so you can keep them safe!!!!!!!!! You can do it, if I can you can!!!
Do we really believe the FBI now, knowing what we know, seeing what we have just seen, when they say there is no connection to all of the school shootings? Think about the technology that is available to alter the mind. Why were there no school shootings when Trump was president?
A microcosm of the complete and justified collapse of the people’s trust in government agencies and other large institutions.
Police should reevaluate protocol. However, it is more likely law enforcement agencies will position themselves as victims of conspiracy theories, demand increased censorship because of “misinformation,” and take the other measures currently used to avoid accountability and reform.
we need a password now? if so where do I find it?

a picture is worth 1000 words
I’m not seeing where to input it.
Patience. Wait until you wish to view a post that is password-protected. Not all will be … that’s exactly what SD said.
Thank you.
The person with the gun had already fled so the parents overreacted. I can’t tell from the article if police tasing was necessary, but I’d give the police the benefit of the doubt on this one.
The issue is that parents no longer trust what the LEA’s tell them in these situations because of what happened in Uvalde.
The parents had no way of knowing the suspect had fled, and no longer assume what they are told is true.
The fact that the suspect had fled, that the police could not or would not come to an understanding with the parents, and that the police resorted to using force against the parents, underscores the larger societal problems.
I have no doubt that the parents were just trying to rescue their children. They all saw the Uvalde police loiter while the kids bled out. Time was of the essence. So the police tased the disobedient parents. Parents now see this pattern and may start showing up with their own tasers and zip ties.
Now there’s a parent’s love right there.
Sorry – no.
If the gunperson had already fled, there should have been zero issue. Tasing parents needs to be dealt with harshly and swiftly.
I live in county about 50 miles north of NY City. It is one of the safest places in the USA.
There are at least 3 separate police departments for almost every town and village.
Sincere there is almost no real crime to speak of, the cops (sheriff, state troopers, town cops) harass the regular citizens. They arrested people during the lockdowns, they will still arrest people for not wearing masks if the right shopkeeper calls them and tells them you’re trespassing if you refuse to wear a mask.
Just a few months ago I refused to wear a muzzle mask in my local library. They called the sheriff who showed up with lights flashing. I got away before he pulled into the parking lot where I had my car. He later showed up at my house.
I am one hundred percent in favor of DEFUNDING my local county and town police. Their budgets are obscene. They are not respectful of the tax slaves. They cause more crimes than they prevent. Screw them.
All they care about are their paychecks and pensions. Let them rot in hell for all I care.
Out of control!
The answer, pull your children out of ‘Public Schools’. Stop already, they are untrustworthy.
I worked in the public school system for 18 years. And can say, when an emergency takes place, they loose their minds. For all their getting ready for an emergency, they are never ready. There are many reasons for that, but right now I’m to P-Off to think or talk about it!
Dox each officer involved. Put flyers throughout town calling out their cowardice. Make them pay for their actions.
All the parents should pull together and Sue
So… Officer Decoy exfiltrated the school yard and the drill was a success.
Too sarcastic?
Is the solution to get rid of qualified immunity?
They would be less likely to violate our rights if their pensions, paycheck and freedom were st risk.
IDK.
That would help immensely.
In fact, for every post SD has offered in this busy week accountability would have made a huge difference.
FIB or DOJ employees, secret service, teachers, police, Federal Reserve bankers, congresspersons, attorneys general who don’t follow the law, either election law or prosecuting criminals, prosecutors, judges, secretaries of states, virtually every single person who makes a living from a taxpayer funded position would do a better, more honest and legitimate job if they had to be accountable.
And THAT’S why they’re so hard to fire!
Paging Schedule F! Paging Schedule F! Please report to the guv’mint centers STAT!
Cities should not have police power, and frankly I’ve never really understood it. States have police power as do elected constitutional Sheriffs. But municipalities? They should have no such authority.
Counties and municipalities are subdivisions of a state, their authority is conferred by the state.
I get that. States have police power as a function of federalism, a plenary power I’m arguing they should not be able to delegate. If that’s the case then any state creation could have a police force, like water districts or state banks. States should have a police force, as well as local, elected constitutional Sheriffs. Nothing else.
The other day when an armed intruder tried to break into an FBI building, the attacker was stopped at a “Visitor Screening Facility” to help protect armed agents.
If only we could do something like this with schools, but they’re too busy pushing CRT and wasting money hiring diversity, inclusion, and equity czars. I guess protecting unarmed children isn’t as high a priority as protecting armed FBI agents.
Therein lies the problem with the various police departments throughout the country, especially in the municipalities. The hiring of less qualified or (more often than not nowadays) unqualified police chiefs, administrators, ranking officers, police patrol officers, etc. because of diversity, inclusion and equity. This PC 🐴💩 is more important than having competent, unbiased, equal law enforcement for all citizens. However, you are a racist, homophobe, misogynist, and other slanderous words of the CULTural Marxist if you even mention this fact and fallacy.
My question about modern day law enforcement with their police slogan “to protect and to serve” is WHO do you protect and serve? The citizens taxpayer who pays for your jobs and pensions to protect our constitutional rights or the “administrative state” officials who give the orders, control the policies, decide the paychecks, pensions, etc. I believe many of us already know the answer where the loyalty lies when push comes to shove.
Hmmm, remember the scene from Schindlers List when they drive the kids out of the camp in trucks?. Now one must understand that these parents have already been “institutionalized” not to resist in ANY form – then see the absolute instinctive TERROR on the mothers faces as they KNOW. How much more will a “free” bear feel that instinct. Something very very wrong is happening to our society, and don’t have much time to wake up and see things as they ARE.
People would much rather point fingers than admit they are not willing to make the hard choices and sacrifices necessary to protect themselves and their loved ones.
Anybody who trusts their precious children to these godless indoctrination centers is nuts. They not only teach CRT, they are sexually groomed and encouraged to take hormone blockers and mutilate themselves. And those are the lucky ones who didn’t take the poison death shots.
What will it take to wake people up?
Get your kids out of these schools. Make some mild sacrifices.
The kids can return to the public schools after there are changes in protocol that make the likely outcome of these events;
perp tried to enter at 1030am and was shot dead at 1032 am by trained guards.
Add to your scenario: “shot dead by trained guards NOT wearing any government-agency uniforms”.
Taking kids out of public schools and into private schools is elite talk.
Easier said than done for many working class households. What needs to happen is school voucher’s for every household.
In El Mirage, AZ (where this happened) the median household income is $38K. They can’t afford private schooling. And likely there are only a small number of private school options in towns like El Mirage, if any.
And homeschooling is more burden on families that have to have both parents working.
Parents should have school choice – vouchers.
Where was Trump on that issue? Where was Voss? Where was the GOP Senate and House?
I recall being told that God seems to provide for home-schooling families and that sounded rather pie in the sky to me but my wife and I were made believers in that trust as are the millions and growing numbers of families who trust in one income, perhaps moving to a smaller house with thousands less in property taxes, doing some work from home, driving less expensive cars, shedding as much as $1000 per month in entertainment subscriptions, shedding the equivalent of one salary without daycare costs.
We paid $4000 to $6000 less per year in property taxes by moving, more than $100,000 over the 20 years of home schooling. There’s your college fund and more with reasonable investment growth. That is just one example.
Priorities, priorities and priorities. It’s often not easy to convince a spouse, especially when in-laws characterize the changes as ‘going backwards’ but what a bounty of rewards.
The vouchers or tax credits would be especially great to make home schooling easier, so we are in agreement there.
When there’s a will there’s a way.
If I was in a household where both parents HAD to work, I would find other homeschooling parents and share some of the duties with them and maybe make a small payment for some services… Off the books.
As most here already know, the police RESPOND to a crime taking place or after one has occurred. The only time they can prevent crime is if they are deployed to patrol events or areas ahead of time. They cannot be everywhere all the time. They only way to neutralize an active shooter at a school is for a police officer to be on site during the school day or to have armed teachers or administrators.
Considering the amount of crazies out there who target schools and such, school boards should wake up, smell the coffee, and have an armed presence in a school building at all times.
These same police will be delivering us to the killing fields soon.
This happened today, a Sat? School?
No it’s called “fractured trust” by Neil Oliver.
Trust in any official bureaucratic agency is in the rear view mirror.
This covers everything from the Federal Government to your local police department no longer do we trust any of them to do the right, not according to the peoples understanding.
Particularly when we believe they no longer have any concept of what is the right thing.
Western society has absolutely lost its way.
And we are no longer on the long road to oblivion but we’ve put on the fast track by the WEF using Obama and his creeps.
This is right down the street from us but we didn’t hear about it (we don’t get cable so don’t have the local stations (which we wouldn’t usually watch anyway). Thanks to Sundance for telling me what’s going on right in my own backyard 🙂
Good people no longer become teachers or employees of public schools, same goes for 98% of LEOs’ unfortunately
Time has come to pull your kids from public schools and enroll them in private schools that have their own security.
Former Navy Seals would do the trick.
Recruit former Military to be teachers. When I was growing up a large percentage of the teachers were former Military. That was then this is now. We need to look at what worked in the past to protect the students now and in the future.
Every situation should have a public liaison officer to be the one talking with parents. They have exactly three jobs. Keep parents informed in real time about what is known about the threat and the location. Let parents know what the plan is. Keep parents informed about the progress in eliminating the threat.
If they do not know those three things, they are seriously negligent in meeting the threat.
If parents know that there are professionals on site and in action to end the threat, most will accept that the professionals are more capable of doing what needs to be done than they are. What will never be acceptable is no plan and no action. If parents are kept in the dark, they will (rightfully?) assume that nothing is being done.
