We are here because we discuss uncomfortable truths. We accept things as they are, and not as we would wish them to be.
Since the original innocuous tweet 48 hours ago, from a private account, which did not even use the name “Trump,” Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has been absolutely silent about the illicit FBI raid on the home of Florida citizen and former President Donald J Trump. DeSantis is showing us all who he really is; but are you willing to accept it?
The raid on President Trump’s home is a moment for all to stand and take a position. On the day after the raid, much like the entire DC Decepticon establishment, Ron DeSantis hid in the bunker and kept quiet. No tweets. No appearances. Nothing that would create a situation where he would have to enter this ‘time of choosing.’ This is what politicians do. This is what Nikki Haley does. Avoiding controversy is not what war time leaders do.
On the second day after the raid, again with the politics of the issue as the dominating consideration, DeSantis releases a recording of a statement as Florida schools begin to open for the fall semester. Again, avoiding any situation where he would be asked to take a position on the raid. Please take note and pay attention. These are the moments that matter, the examples that show the true intents and motives of political leaders.
DeSantis is doing what he has been advised to do.
The silence of DeSantis is deafening.
DeSantis’ supporters, cheerleaders, GOPe promoters and sycophants will ignore it, but deep in their psyche they know what I am saying is true.
Ron DeSantis is a good governor for the state of Florida and has many attributes that make him important for a host of reasons, but this is not a war-time general. Ron DeSantis is a politician.
Accept things as they are, not as you would wish them to be. Because this is the same man that many people would select to face the greatest enemy to our republic. DeSantis is showing us right now that he does not possess the courage, desire in scale, or ability to fight the enemy we face in this battle.
DeSantis is a good finisher, a good maintainer, a good and solid ally who operates well when surrounded by the fortune of an aligned legislative body; but he is not yet the weapon that can stop the corrupt UniParty enemy within our republic.
There are moments that show the character of the politicians in the club apparatus. The pathetic and embarrassing Ted Cruz speech at the 2016 RNC nominating convention was one of those moments. The response, or lack thereof, to an illegitimate FBI raid on the personal home of the leader of the republican party is yet another.
Accept things as they are, you will be far less disappointed later on.
He issued a critical statement the same day more critical than others did ending his comments with with banana republic.
I thought he took an active role! https://www.tallahassee.com/story/news/local/state/2022/08/08/florida-governor-ron-desantis-slams-fbi-raid-trump-mar-a-lago/10272933002/
Seriously, it was boiler plate.
Well, as reported on the CTH, the silence from Governor Desantis is deafening.
It does appear that his GOPe pr team is employing a “troll chaff team” to try to sway the CTH.
Doesn’t look like they are having much luck.
The facts on the ground remain the same…… it appears that Desantis aided and abetted the interloping federal attack team on President Trump’s house.
It has been reported that Desantis’ team has approached President Trump to ask him to throw a life preserver to Desantis to provide him cover for his disastrous decision to help the fed team.
So far, no response from President Trump …….or was it “you will get it when hell freezes over” ……it is a little unclear of the actual response.
“Let’s go Brandon and Desantis!”
In what way did he aid and abet?
So if it has been reported then where is it? Where are the goods? Another anonymous source moment? Get outta here!
What ?
Geez – here is the problem with Republicans – they fight amongst themselves, while the Democrats stick together with the RINOs.
I reckon we should give Ron De Santis a fair trial before we indict him & some people need to lay off the Medicinal Marijuana.
How do we know that DeSantis facilitated the raid? How do we know that he asked Trump for political cover and about Trump’s nonresponse or negative response? Speculation is natural and not unwholesome, but it falls a bit short of connecting factual dots.
You’re going to have to back up the claim that DeSantis allowed it to happen and knew it was happening.
While very strange he used that account to respond and also very strange are many other things. It doesn’t make sense. So let’s keep looking at this to see what sense can be made.
What a shame.
I knew it.
Felt it.
Logically studied him.
Didn’t like some answers.
Hate the behavior.
What a shame.
It sucks having to place DeSantis in the Bush category .
This one really hurts! I had so much respect and admiration for Governor DeSantis. Damn! It seems every day I have to cross some hypocrite off my MAGA list!
You are crucifying RDS, based on this?
Yes
Great! You can go campaign and vote for his Democrat opposition: Nikki “Pothead” Friedchicken or Charlie “Lightloafers” Crist, then. I am sure they would meet your high standards for Florida Governor.
He wouldn’t touch the issue of voting fraud. We kept waiting, asking, looking for SOME overt concern for this…Got nuthin’…
@SunnyFlower5
I was wary of DeSantis after reading Olivia Rondeau’s column on his lackluster record on Free Speech:
https://www.roguereview.net/rondeau-why-i-wont-compromise-on-the-first-amendment-for-desantis/
Always beware of politicians who thinks the First Amendment should apply to some Americans. Such men and women soon apply that mindset to the rest of the Constitution.
I’m not as disheartened as you. I think he’s being wise–there’s a time and place to make a stand. The Dems have clearly overstepped, and DeSantis may be giving them enough rope to hang themselves. No sense giving yourself over as a punching bag so that Dems can deflect the spotlight they invited with their tyrannical overreach. I think DeSantis is being smart (and possibly under the advice or acknowledgement of Trump himself).
“there’s a time and place to make a stand.”
Ya know, that is so true ……. making that decision correctly speaks volumes about a person….
There was that 22 year old man at the food court who had to make a split-second decision about an important matter…… he did it and the results benefitted the community.
Governor Desantis had a lot more time to decide whether to help the fed attack team and he made the wrong decision from a MAGA standpoint …….. as the kids say, his bad……… but it was also bad for all of America.
He and his team must agree that they made the decision to help based on their GOPe backgrounds …… okay in their minds.
So, his decision defines himself as a GOPe operative……
Correct.
I can’t believe DeSantis had no knowledge of this raid. That he allowed it and is now hiding and not out in front of it speaks volumes. At minimum he should be speaking as to why he allowed it. That he is not shows exactly who he is aligned to.
Has the RNC “allowed” DeSantis to run FL better than any other governor in order to push Trump out? He is certainly appearing as a political insider now.
“possibly under the advice or acknowledgement of Trump himself).”
Birthing that gem, must have given you quite the little headache.
So desantis has just told us he is a f-ng rino!!
What a gd coward!!
A N O T H E R ONE!
so who told DeSantis to stand up to disney gone tranny?
Disney stupidly said it would fund democrat challengers in the Florida legislature.
And when DeSantis stripped Disneyworld of its special governing powers, he reminded everyone that “there are lots of other amusement parks in Florida.”
Politics is about money and donors.
The PAC (Save America) that Trump has established is a challenge to the globalist big corporate money in the Uniparty.
@Pascal20
Yet, DeSantis’ actions against Disney weren’t the fatal blow he and his supporters portrayed them as.
Grace Randolph (Beyond the Trailer) reports that Disney’s profits are on the upswing despite recent criticism and political snafus.
The question here is what does a Governor, that is facing re-election in their state in a few months, have to do or say about the Federal raid so they will be considered a potential war leader that will not avoid controversy.
I confess, it’s difficult for me to condemn or doubt DeSantis over his tweet; especially after he fired the liberal state A/G and all the other important and tough issues he has taken on successfully. So, I decided to compare DeSantis’s tweet to another person that is facing a gubernatorial election in a few months and is one of P Trump’s most loyal supporters—Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
Her tweet below and other similar GOP comments have been called hypocritical by the corrupt media because: “Those people didn’t take issue when the FBI was investigating somebody they considered to be a political enemy, Hillary Clinton, in October of 2016.” MSNBC
Sarah’s tweet below is the only comment of hers I could find on the topic. It is also a general comment that does not refer to P Trump, MAL etc. I don’t consider her tweet to be a sell out but maybe I’m wrong? She is concentrating on winning the election and not delving too deep into a major issue when she has no power yet to do anything about it.
However, as other posters have pointed out, it has not stopped the incredible Gov. candidate Kari Lake.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders tweet is even worse than DeSantis’s.
They are showing their true colors. They are not wartime consiglieres.
Weak and afraid to stick their necks out. Yes, DeSantis has done some good things. But this is much bigger and more important to America than one prosecutor or any of the other things he did. They were token gestures to please the crowd.
OMG. Show me on the doll where Ron DeSantis and Sarah Huckabee Sanders hurt all of you.
This is ridiculous. Governor DeSantis has ZERO control or power over the FBI. There are reports all over that Florida’s attorney General was not informed of the impending raid. If the AG’s office wasn’t dialed in, the Govenor wasn’t. Florida department of law enforcement was NOT on the scene and did NOT assist and was NOT aware. The federal government did this.
Stop claiming DeSantis aided and abetted, that is BS. You don’t think his statement was strong enough, fine you’re entitled to your opinion.
So what pray tell would have been a reaction acceptable to all the DeSantis haters? Sending in the Florida National Guard to Mar A Lago to engage in a fire fight with the FBI and start a hot civil war? Announcing Florida’s secession from the union? Rounding up every federal employee in Florida and expelling them?
Enough already. You don’t like DeSantis, fine and dandy. Stay out of Florida, if you live here and find him objectionable, by all means pack up and head north. I’m sure New York and New Jersey would love to have you or just stop in Georgia and enjoy your soon to be New Governor Stacy. There are plenty of people that would love to have the “No good, truly awful, RINO” Ron DeSantis as their Governor.
I am a Floridian, Ron DeSantis in MY Governor and I’m sick and damn tired of him being trashed. I don’t know why this Trump vs DeSantis rift keeps getting pushed. If we keep infighting the enemy will win, our country is in trouble enough with the infighting.
Thanks
Well said!!!
Agree 100%.
And P. Trump gave her her shot. Wow.
Well, she has her jello-kneed, media whore father as an example. He makes me want to puke. He is one of those weak people, neither hot or cold, that Christ will spit out of His mouth.
She’s also the Governor of Florida?
Dear Governor DeSantis, YOUR STATE WAS ATTACKED 3 DAYS AGO !
Can the military occupation government of the USA attack its own subject country?
You guys don’t get it.
The South is militarily occupied by the USA and has been since Reconstruction.
We are OWNED by the fedgov. If we need reminding, we just look at the plethora of military installations polluting our landscape–you know, Bribe-em’s fighter jets and nukes.
That is why I keep pushing you “let’s go get ’em” types for details.
Nobody down here is going to rush at the feds without serious planning and preparation.
And how to get planning and preparation without being infiltrated by Billy Yank?
But, carry on with your fantasist fictions.
And people who have more than a vacuuous intellect won’t be discussing such plans here with clearly apparent government agents and instigators and lawyers sitting around reading.
Americans have proven to be quite adept and proficient at violence and murder and war around the globe for centuries. Ordinary readers and posters on this forum are representative of the cross-section of those Americans. Nothing special. Just patriots doing a job.
As the corporate pricks used to tell me, it’s not personal, it’s business. Accepted.
Please. Let’s not eat our own at this point. There may be a reason why he has remained silent. I think he has been anointed by Trump to be his running mate or to run should something happen to him, to be the candidate of choice.
” …he has been anointed by Trump to be his running mate or to run should something happen to him”
Can you source where you found President Trump saying or writing that?
Thanks!
You skimmed over the key phrase: “I think.” Justin didn’t say that Trump said it. Justin is offering an opinion, not a registered fact.
Attorney Robert Barnes said on his podcast a few weeks ago that Trump and DeSantis had cemented an agreement, Trump for POTUS, RDS for Veep, but that’s all I know.
Yes, I heard that too. He seemed certain of it, said they had made an agreement.
Out of DeSantis’s mouth, he said that he is not running.
i imagine, like many Republicans ( RINOS), he knew the timing would present itself.
Interestingly, the Crist campaign keeps saying that RDS is only running halfheartedly because he’s got his mind on being Prez or VEEP.
Everything out of Crist’s gaping maw is a lie. He is sleaze personified, the quintessential smarmy politician.
Puke.
Sundance, What’s your opinion of Marco Rubio in these last two days?
I’m sure Rubio will write a stern letter to the FBI just like he did when China was heavy handing Hong Kong. Why we can’t get someone to run against Do Nothing Rubio is beyond me.
The time to start is the day after Marco’s election this year.
Be quiet about it. Take the time to find several excellent candidates, vet them, and start to fundraise.
Needs really good, closed-lip MAGA recruiter. Think…The owner of Goya foods is excellent. (No Cubans, please, they are ALL open borders).
Who else, as an accomplished businessperson?
We must stop deifying any of these politicians. It is foolish and it is lazy to not hold every single one under continual scrutiny and verification. Yes, that therefore includes Trump when he is wrong. Besides, policies affect us much more than personalities. We have no idea how Maga in policies DeSantis would be, do we? I reserve judgment on DeSantis, but I do think he should be held under scrutiny no less than any other politician. If we didn’t learn that from, for example, the shifty Ted Cruz, we need to.
Can’t we just go with DeSantis as Florida Governor and Trump for President. Works out perfectly😃👍👍👍
What if De Santis and President Trump spoke as soon as the raid occurred?
Heck, I’ve no info on that but it seems like the Governor and President would have spoken to each other very soon after it occurred.
In my opinion, they should have told us it was happening immediately, so that we could react. A large enough response might even have caused the FBI/DOJ to back down. Ultimately, it will be us who save the Republic because we are the big stick that Trump can wield at the appropriate time. Even if decides not to, it’s still us who can save the Republic because we have a VERY big stick. We just need the resolve to use it. So Channel The Founders!
“Where the hell is Ron DeSantis? State officials are NOT subordinate to the FBI, and maybe if DeSantis was actually a threat to the system he’d get off his fat ass and do something instead of being a lazy piece of shit and allowing the FBI to raid Trump’s house.”
-@RedEaglePatriot, in a now-deleted tweet
Is his ass fat? I mean, sometimes he does look a bit chunky, but maybe it’s muscle.
Being a lazy POS and ALLOWING a federal law enforcement agency to enforce a federal search warrant?
How ignorant is this POS?
There is zippy zap state nexus here.
Non-lawyers really need to keep in their own wheelhouse. They sound so stupid when they opine on things like this.
We know where Ronnie stands now . now get off the DeSantis Bus and get on the Trump Train and don’t look back.
Correct.
They are on the same bus. The Patriot Bus. Stop sowing division.
What if he has been in communication with President Trump and was encouraged to not comment.
Don’t assume anything.
“We are here because we discuss uncomfortable truths. We accept things as they are, and not as we would wish them to be.”
I think I said up here a week ago that Desantis was a dead duck, not so much because of Desantis ad hominem, but because of the physics of the system he must contend within.
Don’t get me wrong. I love the theater of a Soros DA being dragged from his office as much as the next guy. But alas, theatah. Sound and fury signifying… television.
You need $1 billion to become POTUS. Unless you’re a billionaire, you must go hat-in-hand. Beholdenness holds the key to the city.
Only quixotic & eccentric billionaires can hope to buy their ‘exogenousness’ back (Perot and Trump) and possess true agency
Those who succeed within that tiny fraternity (Trump) will be hounded relentlessly as they possess too many degrees of freedom NOT to pose a threat to the Administrative State.
Anyone who harbored wishfulness towards Desantis still doesn’t grasp the eclipsing power of the Uniparty. And I’m beginning to think practically no one does.
Here’s my prior post…
Imo, the dissection of McConnell’s true purpose and motivations is one of SDs more valuable contributions.
The next kneejerk reaction is to call them all scumbags. I beg to differ, though they may be that as well. In fact, they are opportunistically, and quite adroitly, reacting to the ACTUAL PHYSICS of the system, which is a bird endowed with a lesser and greater wing. The ideal flight path for this bird is Lesser Red and Greater Blue.
McConnell excels at piloting the Lesser wing.
So you have ambitious men and women adjusting themselves to what the physics of the system demands.
This is why DeSantis is flashing some theater presently but is doomed to acquiesce to the physics of the system in the long run. I’m sure when he ultimately ‘turns’ the usual howls and jeers from the patriot gallery will erupt.
He will ‘turn’ not because he is a really bad guy (necessarily), but because in our political Culture of Beholdenness you need $1 billion to be POTUS. No exceptions, unless you’re a Trump, self-financed and with pre-existing celebrity cache. It’s a tail-wag-dog thing. Why does it take $1 billion to become POTUS (a mere pittance by elite standards)? Because that’s what makes you beholden. Call it the Hat-in-Hand Presidency.
Does anyone recall Trump being called antisemitic when he said in front of a Jewish business dinner, ” I know you don’t want me because I don’t need your money.” (paraphrase).
Awkward silence. Who wants a POTUS who can’t be owned? Ah, maybe the People.
Great post, sir! And it tallies exactly with my conviction that if we are to prevail, we MUST HAVE OUR OWN MAGA MONEY….and LOTS OF IT.
When are we going to see it? We MUST FINANCE our own, independent of regular political money.
And the Uniparty will always be able to raise more than we, but at some point, the average citizen gets turned off by constant ads, etc.
The big attraction is the huge pot of money from taxpayers, to buy the control of business, etc. That’s what THEY are playing for, while we want something entirely different. Our country and culture.
It seems to me that these two very different goals will attract two very different types of candidates …So the Uni guys have to lie to us to get our vote, so they can then enter the strata where we become betrayed by them.
So … A Trump candidate comes once in a lifetime, maybe twice, but we can increase the odds if we actively seek and recruit others like him (like Kyle Bass, for instance), and let him know what’s he’s in for, and unwaveringly support him/her, in every way, give him money, etc. He’ll be operating in enemy territory, to do a thankless task.
I believe they ARE out there! Surely we could find 5 or 10 per state whose characters are not corrupt?
I see no other way. I do believe that they will need to be Believers, so their commitment to God is what sustains them.
My two cents.
Very, VERY well said. Thank you! As you point out, we need to see these players as inevitable symptoms of deeper systemic problems that are missed, e.g., the fateful 17th Amendment.
My post from a few days ago…

I like Desantis similar to the way I like President Trump. We’re on a political combat patrol and I appreciate the people who are walking point. Are they perfect, will they sometimes walk into an ambush or fail in some way? Happens all the time! There is a small organization in Texas dedicated to taking back our state, the True Texas Project. They were part of the old Tea Party but have changed their approach. Instead of JUST working to elect “better people”, which so often fails once the “good person” is in office, they are also dedicated to forcing “bad people to make the right choice”.
I think this is a much more realistic approach to American politics. Whether it’s the local school board, a state governor, or President of the United States, power corrupts and people fail. The goal should be to constantly work to make “bad” people (humans) make the right choices.
The True Texas Project- a much better approach…
Wasn’t it pretty obvious from the beginning?
Yale and Harvard trained lawyer that has never worked in the private sector for even one day. Literally has never held a job in the private sector. Navy Jag for a few years (utter bs job to check the veteran box) and runs for congress. When has the “never held a job” ever worked out with a politician??
In 2018 I watched the race with Gillum closely and thought to myself, “my god this guy is a such a little lamb” it was like watching paint dry. Two year later , out of the clear blue sky, he’s doing Trump impressions, hand motions, speaking patterns everything.
He passes these hardline laws in Florida…but doesn’t enforce any of them.
All the cruise lines docking at Florida ports require vaccine papers to this day. That’s just one of many examples.
Keep doing Trump impressions and stay as governor in FL. A job easy enough even low energy Jeb excelled at it.
But that man has shown his true colors
DeSantis was so meek and seemed willing to let Gillum win. I thought he was rather lackluster at the time as well
I have to agree , until looked him up , didn’t realize Law school to JAG and THEN Congress ( never a private job ) ambitious politician much ? , was probably always on the lookout for backers/ founders – only became Trump – lite recently – wouldn’t be surprised if cultivated at Yale as baseball player like Bush senior , I’m sure they have their eye on people there as up and comers for recruitment . But let him stay and play as Governor and not become another “hungry” over reaching politician like Cruz or Andrew Cuomo who think THEY too can be President. IMHO
Yet nobody on these boards would listen to a damned thing I said re: DeSantis. I voted for Putnam. Putnam or Graham would have kept Florida on an even, middle-of-the road keel.
Would we have the Disney theater? The Warren theater? Probably not. Neither would they have been interested in being President, knowing that they didn’t have the chops.
Would either have been anything other than a milquetoast middle-of-the-road weenie? Nope.
Florida is not an extremist state. We native borns are middle of the road. I didn’t like DeSantis from the beginning because of his pedigree–Ivies etc. I don’t like flash and I loathe snobbery.
But we got DeSantis and I got behind him. He fended off Fentanyl Floyd’s poster child, Andrew “Smoke ’em if you got ’em” Gillum. That was worth a big chunk of loyalty there.
So, you get what you vote for. We got Mr. Ivy League self-promoter. Yay us.
With respect, Putnam was a whore, and completely in the pocket of Big Ag. And a coward. He would have had the state flooded with illegals hired by the farmers, which would have bankrupted all local hospitals nearby..
Already happened in west Martin County…Small 20-bed local hospital, 1st of its kind, paid for by a local small-dollar hospital district. Had to close its doors within weeks. The damn illegals used up the entire budget alloted in the emergency room. NEVER SERVED THE PEOPLE WHO PAID FOR IT.
Sorry, damn sick of whores like him.
Here’s Trump’s statement fr/yesterday.
Hard to se that its all that different fr/ DeSantis’.
….” A horrible thing that took place yesterday at Mar-a-Lago. We are no better than a third world country, a banana republic. It is a continuation of Russia, Russia, Russia, Impeachment Hoax #1, Impeachment Hoax # 2, the no collusion Mueller Report, and more. To make matters worse it is all, in my opinion, a coordinated attack with Radical Left Democrat state & local D.A.’s & A.G.’s.”…..
https://gab.com/realdonaldtrump/posts/108795210526790418
Just to clear up the fact…….. desantis’ statement is one thing the citizens of America are looking at……….
they are really concerned about his lack of ACTION during the time of the raid ……. he was the local commander in the state and not only did he not stop the federal raiders, he is said to have aided and abetted the fed attackers.
Nikki, that you? Maybe you are an intern for Nikki’s re-election.
Get ‘Em riled up on these there internet boards. That will work.
I, for one, will now be voting for the dem NIKKI Fried this Nov for Gov.
Thank you, and so many others on this thread, for really showing us Floridians just how mistaken we are! Stellar really. I don’t doubt that between now and November- we’ll see the HATE RON posts regularly.
Not all cactuses are pricks. Some, but not all. Most, but not all. You, for sure.
Bravo.
The GOPe pr “troll chaff team” approach on display.
Pick a fight …… ignore the plight…….. repeat.
“Said by” … whom?
From an article I just read: “There’s no point after which you raid the former president’s house that you then start walking things back. They just raided a sitting congressman.”
Pudgy weasel never cracked down on renegade school districts who openly defied his correct bans on child mask mandates including the horrific Lee County School Board.
Your local School Board is locally elected. Get busy if you don’t like them. You need Daddy DeSantis to do the heavy lifting in Lee District Schools? Puh-leeze.
Yep, local is on us. Particularly those of us who live in Commie states. There is no help coming from the state house. We’re on our own. Mayors, judges, DA’s, councils, school boards, Sheriff. That’s us. I recall when our Sheriff went up against Obama. I smiled. He ran unopposed in the next election and that resolve remains stalwart during Brandon.
Very interesting Unity rally. Kari has no problem uniting with Gov. DeSantis and she’s a strong Trump supporter.
A pre-raid scheduled event ………….. Kari will do fine………..Desantis not so much.
He needs to be in Florida putting together his defenses against the fed interlopers who will show up at his gates again since they were welcomed the last time.
Now there is still time to slip his name onto her list of endorsements, but he didn’t endorse her before she won………..
Just another missed MAGA opportunity on his part? ……
Did he endorse Robson?
Nikki- that you??
Glad to see this. I think there is more going on behind the scenes for an orchestrated push back.
Considering the Feds capability of spying now with the Israeli spyware- face to face in a secure room is the only way.
Come on, people. Use your brains. DeSantis is not the enemy. He is the most conservative of the 50 governors, and he fights fearlessly. He’s not obligated to dedicate every fiber of his being to the defense of a man he probably wants to challenge for the Republican nomination in 2024.
I personally prefer Trump, with all his BS and self-inflicted wounds, because he will be more enraged, and more likely to endure whatever it takes to drain the swamp.
DeSantis is a fantastic ally. Trying to weaken him is a mistake. Let Team Trump fight this battle. They are winning.
He does not fight fearlessly. Yesterday shined a harsh, bright light on that fact. He sat on his hands.
My Governor has ignored hundreds of thousands if not millions of calls, email and snail mail from Floridians who were hotter than fish grease over the fact we still have The Machines to count our votes. So there is that.
Why don’t you pour some of that fish grease on your state Representative and Senator? The LAW that they first enacted in 1989 and only recently revised in 2019 states what can and cannot be used to count votes, not the Governor’s whim.
We need to lean on the Legislature to change the LAW, s. 101.015, F.S., which permits use of electromechanical voting systems.
IF DS is Deep State they would have wanted him to come out against the FBI mightily so as to get the ppl to back him as future president … game set and match.
Having a perfectly polite and reasonable comment deleted without explanation because it apparently conflicts with the narrative is a bad look for a site I’ve really appreciated and learned a lot from for several years. Okay.
Did you actually get notification it was deleted or just assuming? I’m not accusing you of anything, but having been a member of this site for years I can tell you that sometimes posts just don’t post. Technology isn’t 100% all the time. If your post was posted and actually deleted they usually leave your name up, but in the body the text is replaced with “Deleted by admin”.
I always have issues posting. Even doing up votes. I think it’s my cell company choking down access.
That wouldn’t surprise me at all. They don’t like folks like us.
If not receiving a private communication and/or seeing ‘edited by admin’ when one searches the comment pages for their username, how about reposting it? IME, topical comments, even those trending to the inflammatory, are usually retained if not spam or containing gross profanity or vulgarity.
These are difficult times. Emotions run high. Still, we can learn from opposing views. Let ‘er rip!
That’s my opinion as well. They do a good job of allowing opposing views as long as you’re not obviously trolling or intentionally inciting anger or being purposefully inflammatory.
let’s rip on our guy DeSantis because lord knows not speaking up loud enough is the most telling non-event of the entire Trump raid storyline worthy of discussion.
Message to Ron, you can be MAGA but you will never be MAGA enough unless you improve your proficiency at sternly written letters apparently.
Not to mention failing to send in armed State and local authorities to seize and arrest the FBI on a moment’s notice
The most productive outcome of this discussion would be the assembly of a Florida State SWAT unit for Ron to deploy next time the FEDS cross State lines.
I’m late to the discussion as usual. Read as many comments as I could manage. I cannot read DeSantis’s mind. But his silence is deafening. Loved your Emerson quote Sundance.
The word “integrity” came to mind though, and then came the memory of this clip from “The Scent of A Woman.” The words from this clip ,” I don’t know what Charlie’s silence here means” came to me.
There are so MANY things contained in Silence. It’s not always self serving interest to be silent in a time like this.
Can someone tweet up John Cardillo and Kurt Schlicter and post this? They’re Ronny’s fan boy club influencers.
That’s it, by God, let’s knock Ronny out of his governor re-election bid by gaining nationwide support to HATE RON.
NIKKI Fried loves you all. I’m sure Florida turning blue is the right thing. Nov 2022- make all your dreams come too.
VERY SAD .
It is indeed IMO a sad time, and to gain a measure of balance, we can remember how PDJT was out in front of and in the middle of any and practically all events of importance to this great Republic.
We can remember his wonderful example and move forward. Myself, I remember his helicopter pressers are the best pressers and with the magic of youtube they can still be watched. We will get past this. There’s still a mission to complete.
We STILL don’t know what is really going on. We all have our guesses.
I think it is wise not to go off half cocked based on the info we have.
But that’s just me following the Bongino 48 hr rule
I hope President Trump sees it. Discernment of character wasn’t his strong suit when he was in office.
” Discernment of character wasn’t his strong suit”
Oh really. That is the reason his team put together the two largest winning campaigns in USA history.
A GOPe cheap shot from the cheap seats.
No, it’s accurate. Recognizing Trump’s flaws is NOT being GOPe. It’s being a person who can think for him-or-herself. I voted for him twice, but I still realize he has weaknesses.
Because Don is god. Got it.
DeSantis is worse than a politician. He is a coward.
No , he is a cowardly politician,-a very common subspecies , like the old crow- They are calculating cowards , but they don’t want you to realize that ….
Nonsense…you sound like a sheep though
A Virginian calls RDS a coward. Rich.
Question
Why do people need someone to tell them what to think about anything, why don’t they read the news, from a few different sources & form their own opinions? This is no different from sitting in front of a TV & watching a Pundit tell you how to think, it is no different from what people have done in the past – that got us to where we are today.
Did anyone think POTUS asked him to remain silent on the issue because he wants him to run with him?
Thank you for pointing out the obvious. Gov. Ron doesn’t seem shy about confronting issues he cares about head on. Clearly this is not one of those issues. Interesting…
Did ANY… Governors take a stand on the raid?
YES _ Kari Lake…… Ha!
She’s not a Governor. She’s a wannabe.
Have received a number of donation emails from Governor DeSantis in the last few days. I replied to the latest this morning after reading this Sundance filing. I hope others will do the same, especially Floridians.
I am proud to live in your free State of Florida. I stand behind you as my Governor. I am puzzled by your silence on a politically motivated raid on one of the citizens of your State. The raid on former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home is a moment for all patriotic citizens to speak up and take a position. Leaders would, politicians won’t.
I wrote him an email the day after. Not about his tweet but about what I expect him to do with other governors and reminding him that the states is what makes up the Fed Govt. Without States agreement the Feds don’t exist. Our power is to get the States to form a push back.
On a personal note I no longer recognize the US Govt as my governing body and I notified my Federal Electeds of that fact.
I suspect alot of RINOs and democrats will beat the drum behind DeSantis running against Trump to divide up Trump’s votes. Some think DeSantis should be VP, but I think he would come with the bias and potential sabotage behaviors of Pence. Further, DeSantis is good right where he is and moving him to DC would just deplete another area of needed assets.
mr. sundance, that’s a real low shot you took at our governor I fully expect you to follow up with some facts asap.
I do not agree with your statement. because he , DeSantis, not screaming loudly dose not make him right or wrong. He issued a statement, and it is enough, so far.
I judge people on their work and delivery of their promises , and not on their proclamations or oratory. You gave example with Cruz, who talk a grate talk, and comes amply with the rest.
Wait/what? Someone in our corrupt government threatening a governor from the freest state in this union? I simply cannot believe that! <sarcasm thicker than you can imagine>
god help us
Well, Sundance has just lost a lot of respect. His call for an immediate, knee-jerk “hot take” on an evolving story is despicable. DeSantis released a statement the evening of the raid. With schools about to open across the state, and running a re-election campaign, DeSantis has more on his plate than running around, making “media appearances” and “answering questions” about a particular event to Sundance’s satisfaction. If you’re “Never DeSantis” you should just say so, Sundance. Then we’ll know to treat you like Bill Krystol.
And by the way, there are 28 Republican governors in America. Are you now going to write 27 more full-length articles decrying each governor’s lack of a knee-jerk reaction to an event they had nothing to do with?
DeSantis is Sundances gov.
Cancel culture.
Here.
At CTH.
Accept things as they are.
Not!!!
L8r.
It appears that desantis’ GOPe pr team continues to employ a “troll chaff team” to try to sway the CTH audience.
Doesn’t look like they are having much luck.
So anyone that disagrees with you is a troll….you sound like a democrat
A Daddy Donny worshipping ideologue more like.
There are many interesting aspects of this raid. Many people think Trump baited them into this foolish action.
As for DeSantis not responding as we think he should? I wouldn’t write him off so quickly.
Yes, it is out of character for sure. But there are reasons people pull punches and generally hold off from a response. It could be his response will be well planned.
But there is a saying, “Never interfere with the enemy who is destroying themselves.” Perhaps it simply isn’t needed at this time.
He’s a good governor that listens and represents his constituents. He’s strong enough to resist the intrusion by the feds and the media. Doesn’t appear to be corrupted in any way, nit I don’t think he has any national ambitions. I doubt he could deal with it on that scale.
DeSantis is not merely a “good” governor, he’s been a great governor. Nonetheless, this opinion piece is exactly correct. The raid is a defining moment and must be addressed with clarity by leaders of the movement, so that each voter will also decide where he stands.. I’m surprised I hadn’t noticed it myself, but that why Sundance is the one with the site.
@paul b, well stated…
100% correct. Recent Florida resident from NJ and have been quite pleased with him…as Govn’r. This has shown he is GOPe. This happened in HIS state. This is the guy who was ticked at Disney in HIS state. He has been doing nothing but pre-filmed videos out on his “official” Gov site so as to not have pressers to have to answer any questions…it is patently obvious he is hiding waiting for it to blow over. Great gov but will never be the fighter we need in this country right now…
Still hoping for Mike Pompeo to run. He knows where all the bodies are buried…hopefully he will put a few more on the lower side of the green. Extremely disappointed in DeSantis. Am so concerned for this country.
Can’t trust Pompey. Once CIA, always CIA
Daddy Bush was CIA director…’nuff said
