At times of greatest consequence, the legacy of leadership becomes important.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis doesn’t use his official office account to release a statement on the FBI raid in Mar-a-Lago, that likely required a joint cooperative task force response from the state, as customary for fulfilment of a federal warrant upon a Florida citizen. Instead, Florida Governor DeSantis issues a tweet from his personal account noting the action was yet “another escalation in the weaponization of federal agencies.” Oh well, that’s a relief, heavy sigh, as long as it’s just “another escalation”….
Quick pivot right to the whataboutism politics DC is famous for… “while people like Hunter Biden get treated with kid gloves”, and “IRS agents,” etc.
You see, this is what DC does to bang the pots and pans loudly in the UniParty kitchen. As a congressional representative, Ron DeSantis learned the chaff and countermeasures well. Actually challenge the federal government? No way. Not gonna happen.
Meanwhile, compare the response from future Arizona Governor Kari Lake:
Keep in mind, the personal account of Ron DeSantis could say anything he wants. Again, for reasons known to political followers, DeSantis chose not using the FL Gov Twitter account for his response to an FBI raid that happened in his state…. that used his joint cooperation task force to execute.
Times of consequence provide insights into strength of leadership. Or as Ron DeSantis would say “another escalation” amid a lot of escalations that have yet to reach a line where ‘escalations‘ are no longer accepted; at least not for him. Someone with political ambitions generally draws those lines in a much different place than the regular people impacted by the escalations the professional political class like to bang their pots loudly about.
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.” ~ Sam Adams
State Representative Anthony Sabatini from Florida district 32 seems to understand the dynamic that changed today.
It’s time for us in the Florida Legislature to call an emergency legislative session & amend our laws regarding federal agencies
Sever all ties with DOJ immediately
Any FBI agent conducting law enforcement functions outside the purview of our State should be arrested upon sight

“House GOP Pledges”…. Again?
B.S.
Desantis had his moment…………He Blew it !!
I say it often and to much jeering… Cheering DeSantis is cheering another Brown and Brown, CFR, Chamber of Commerce, Club for Growth, Koch Brother supported Republican…
The party cheerleaders need their safe space and pronouns like RINO to continue twisting reality. It reminds me a lot of transgenderisum! Hiding a penis in a skirt is no different than pretending someone with a R next to their name isn’t a politician.
Palm Beach is a dem run county, and so is their State Attorney.
The SA divorced his wife because she supported PDJT. Let that sink in.
I lived there for 22 years, I think I know what PBC is.
However what did that statement have to do in helping yourself justify DeSantis sitting on his hands… AGAIN?
Party cheerleaders need to stop wishing their idols were what they want them to be vs accepting what they actually are.
Progressive tools playing controlled opposition.
I like DeSantis as my Governor…
…but let him face 4 years as Vice President under President Trump to understand the full depth of Ruling Intelligence State

“The Best is Yet to Come”. President Donald Trump – 2022 after the raid on his home in Florida !
https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/108790947668067601# .
Maybe he doesn’t want to be second fiddle to Trump’s ego.
“Republican governors need to protect their citizens against federal agencies acting as political police.”
That is a VERY good question! If he had wanted to completely endear himself to the President Trump supporters, he should have sent Florida State Troopers there to let the FBI know that a) they were NOT going to violate the rights of a Floridian, and b) they were being watched by people with MORE guns who would have not the slightest qualm in arresting them and putting them in jail if they exceeded their warrant in ANY way.
He missed a great opportunity here.
Great question! One along similar lines that I mentioned to my wife while at breakfast, and just prior to checking in at The Treehouse.
Winner winner, chicken dinner!
Trump would be crazy to pick another lawyer for Vice President.
Lawyer’s are part of an iron-clad Cartel whose members are incapable of being truly independent.
Fwiw, i tend to agree. We need solid maga supporters like the Kari Lakes and S Bannons etc…. No more lawyers in the highest Office, and start weeding them out of the lower Offices.
Yes Yes and Yes….add Sarah Palin in there.
That would be a full of sh!t statement, Economist.
You say we are all part of an “iron-clad Cartel”–slander much?
I am no member of any Cartel. And I am truly independent.
I am fed up with Treepers taking huge, steaming dumps on attorneys all of the time. You guys walk a mile, then get back to me, eh?
There are some good lawyers out there who are doing their level best to uphold true justice.
There are also many who try to pervert the law to serve their own greedy ends.
I’m not a lawyer so I don’t know the rules, but isn’t there some way for the good guys to go after the bad apples and disbar them?
That would go a long way toward rehabilitating the tarnished image that many people have of your profession.
They are sighted as often as Bigfoot.
Yep. However, Sidney Powell is still out there, fighting.
Just like politics and most other of our professions and institutions, those with the power over lawyers—the bar organizations in the states are dominated by elitists and swamp dwellers.
Of course this is so because our professions and institutions merely reflect (with amplified effect due to their power over all of us) the general decline of our entire society.
It is no coincidence that our national and cultural decline began in earnest in the 1960s when post-modernism (God is dead, secular humanism, atheism, if it feels good do it and materialism and many other signs) caused Americans to turn from God.
One need look no further than pretty much any comment thread in the CTH, much less the wholly sewer-like online platforms of our mortal enemies so many “patriots” still use (can’t be unconvinced to stop). Very few acknowledge our general spiritual bankruptcy and most talk of fixing things by “ourselves” with no thought that this is at its root a spiritual war.
Most Americans have grown spoiled and self -absorbed, unwilling to take responsibility for our collective failure to be virtuous citizens.
Fantastic post JumpinJarHead.
I’ve seen a drastic decline here from even 2 years ago.
The attacks, name calling, profanity, overall temperament of the comments are astounding.
It seems that people take on an entirely different persona.
We are in a SPIRITUAL WAR.
The Golden Rule is all that has EVER been needed. Likely, it has not been taught for hundreds of years.
So simple to understand, though so difficult (historically) to enact.
Excellent comment… Thanks.
Either serve the law or make the law…NOT BOTH!!!
In all fairness and respect, when we examine any and every example of greed, avarice and mendacity in this fine Republic’s corrupt political, business and judicial machine, there’s a lawyer there.
If it were a carpenter or a plumber, we’d be taking swings at them. It’s not. It’s lawyers.
My personal vendetta against lawyers goes back to the 70’s so it’s an old hate that’s gotten little better over the interceding decades. Even though a lifelong law abiding citizen I don’t like cops much either. People who are my equals trying to lord over me impels me to wish to ventilate their brain matter all over their shoes. Worthless humans they are, to me.
What is a lawyer or a cop going to do about it in real life? IDK, let’s get to it. I’m done with these worthless humans. Soldiers of the enemy.
BTW, Mr. Lawyer, we all have tough lives, walk a mile in our shoes. Show me one lawyer who doesn’t think he or she is smarter than me and can manipulate me with weaponized intellect and I’ll maybe show a glimmer of respect. Fck the condescension and arrogance. Sincerely
Gar,
You’re entitled to your opinion. So are we. Maybe you should give some consideration as to WHY so many Americans hold your profession in such utter contempt. I KNOW some lawyers that would be overjoyed to tell you about how many scumbags they have encountered in your profession. There is a reason law is the one profession in which more people who qualify to practice end up moving to other jobs rather than practicing law. One lawyer I know who is now a general contractor said he quit because, “I just got tired of being lied to all the time.”
If you’re tired of the “huge, steaming dumps” Treepers take on attorneys “all of the time,” maybe you ought to think about policing your profession a great deal better than you do now. As it stands, your profession has a horrible, AND WELL-DESERVED, reputation.
I appreciate your comment and concur 100%.
The sweeping generalizations criminalizing those who practice law, is mind numbing.
There’s an awful lot of Barristers who are honest, and hard working.
Not a dump…..but it seems that the Attorneys Trump has surrounded himself with have given poor (safe) advice. President Trump should have used his power while still in office to do recounts in key swing states. His advisors kept him from doing this….What a mistake….Might have angered some but would have revealed the corruption. There would have been no disputing the facts that would have been found. We would not be in this mess had he received good council.
My perspective as a nurse is that it would be unacceptable for me to refuse treatment if the patient did not use correct medical terminology to request treatment both written and verbal. But, if I can’t write a request for justice in specific law lingo in a written paper to the court, I am denied justice. Often even if the requested justice is proffered in correct legalese, the court will refuse. The legal department created a system that makes them in charge of who gets justice according to their whim. That is what leaves me distrusting of lawyers in general, although I have met more than a few such as yourself who are good men intent on being just.
If you are an honest attorney you should be calling out the corrupt ones instead of complaining about someone doing it for you. Be honest, trial attorneys are highly trained to lie for a living. And Congress and their bureaucracies are filled to the brim with corrupt attorneys.
DeSantis has shown himself a coward. Bloggers I read say he is working for Israel, or the UK via the Pilgrim’s Society -he has all the credentials there. Always thought he was too good to be true. And some of the things he’s done seem fascist to me, trying to legislate morals when people don’t have any. He wants power.
My suspicions were cemented because he has not addressed the voting machine / election fraud in a serious way.
I don’t do Israeli conspiracies but I will say all one needs to do to understand him is look at his voting record when he was in DC.
He’s a classic Republican through and through.
Yeah, all the notable conservative bloggers pushing DeSantis – and I love the guy – better be understanding he belongs to donors when at the federal level.
God Bless Kari Lake
DeSantis just lost MAGA voters and donors who made him GOV in SWFL.
Looks like he wants to be POTUS more than a Patriot.
You don’t live here and know nothing of DeSantis. Your parroting the left, is useless on me, a conservative voter in Florida.
Well Sundance just said as much in the article and he IS a Floridian.
EXACTLY !!!! Sundance is VERY astute judging from all I have read here over the last 4 years. Desantis is possibly playing a long game like Haley & Pompeo et.al, but sadly he might be a Rino incognito . This bears serious study to see how he backs Trump – or not.
Riding the same train!
This is all show time maneuvering that was game planned long ago to complement the Jan 6 exercise in circumstantial evidence manipulation. A poster in this thread linked into a Technofrog article that gets to what is really in play. It’s a technical move to undercut eligibility to run for public office.
DJT was in NY. The FBI knew this – they didn’t want perp walk optics. This all suggests to me that the “insider” (meaning those/someone close to DJT) aspects to this run deeper than anyone understands. This is one place the counter-moves need to to focus. Who is silent at the moment on all of this? Who would know the inner details vis DJT’s information management practices and habit patterns? Pence? Kelley? Some staffer? The hard work of sniffing out the “insider threats” has never received its full due IMO.
I thought our real President was in Alaska, helping Sarah Palin, not N.Y. Was I misinformed?
He was, but that was a couple of weeks ago
Insider with Trump? Look no further than his SS team.
Whoa – I live in SWFL! Collier and Lee pushed DeSantis over the finish line…..fought off the Miami/Dade Machine.
As a Native Son of the Gunshine State, I think it was MIA-Dade that pushed the President over the mechanical influence..
It is amazing how fast some people are to overreact to a scripted narrative.
As a FL native (I’m 61), I can state without equivocation that Gov DeSantis has already done more, as an acting Governor (not a potential Gov), for the State of FL than any other in such capacity.
Step back from the ledge, let the lemmings jump.
Trust God. Fear not.
Amen David. Trust God. Everything’s going according to His plan now. As a nation, we have sinned GREATLY. We are now in decline due to our sinful actions as a nation. This government has destroyed countries and meddled everywhere on the planet. Don’t we have around 750 military bases OCONUS? Every one of those should be shuttered. But the most horrendous offense against God is our turning away from Him as a nation, and the murder of tens of millions of his children.
May God have mercy on his children during these times. And may the US government burn in hell.
“The Best is Yet to Come”. President Donald Trump – 2022 after the raid on his home in Florida !
https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/108790947668067601# .
This is what scares Me. We did not pay attention. The righteous will suffer with the wicked.
Amazing how so many just leapt from supposedly liking or even loving DeSantis to hating him with the heat of a thousand raging fires. So, he didn’t respond exactly like some would have wanted him to respond. That makes him a Leftist-colluding RINO now? WTF? Everyone needs to take a breath. I hate to sound rude, but you’re all acting like Leftist hysterics over this. And you know what I mean, too. Going from zero to frothing at the mouth, the kind of behavior we all usually laugh at when Lefties do it?
Or, it’s the “Ted Cruz effect”. We’ve been burned by DeceptiCons too many times now–partially our fault for not paying enough attention to those miscues that reveal their true colors–that we’ve resolved to scrutinize each and every one much more closely and not blindly trust any of them, let alone without regular, vigilant verification to see if (or when?) they’ve fallen off the path. None of them gets a pass, dare I say also Trump when he makes mistakes. They’re all sinners as fallible as we are. DC will corrupt even the most earnest “Frodos” given enough time.
“Do not put your trust in princes, in mortal men, who cannot save.” Ps 146:3
When courage is called for and decisive defense maneuvers are called for — and instead cowardice is on display… call it out! These “men” cannot remain in battle formations if they cannot be counted on. DeSantis too.
Sad that you see this as “frothing”. Given the circumstances and the consequence of decision making and given the clarity of Ron D separating his response into personal while officially NOT opposing fed gov criminal and malfeasant conduct… (in these times of imminent strife, collapse of institutions, threatening collapse of cultural and physical systems), VERY unfortunate-and-ill-advised for anyone to feel any fulminating response is “frothing”.
All decent Americans ought (obligation) to be logically and spiritually and correctly calling for the visible, physical, and massive blocking of any federal criminal activity. Its not a matter of “if” or “should” it be done… this is the matter of who’s first to translate words into actions — law enforcement counter-government, counter the governments lawlessness by __(WHO)_________ because its clearly the right thing to do and the right time to do it. DeSantis is not to be trusted in command or leadership nor is any trust warranted on those who can’t clearly see DeSantis “blew it” and see that men are righteously angry when leadership turns up cowardly and “unqualified” to lead.
Times are tough: calls/decisions are to be made with due consideration for the “weightiness” of the matters at hand. Men and their language will be strong, logical, and morally/spiritually correct even with “emotional content” dials set to “max” amplification.
Ron Desantis and many others have tough decisions else they’ll be “let go” and this is not in any way about elections. Bad conduct, even unlawful conduct, is grounds for removal from office. DeSantis is OBLIGATED to oppose illegal searches by federal authority and OBLIGATED to use state forces including militia to do so, as needed.
I didn’t read here that anyone hated him.
He disappointed quite a few by not strongly
objecting to the fascist raid of President Trump’s home.
Many are wondering, as they should, if he is a
RINO, or not up to par with President Trump’s
greatness. Our hopes were dashed and some
are lashing out; some more than others.
Get it now?
While he has done a lot…..but his decisions were all common sense moves….what any one of us would expect. Has he criticized McConnell and his leadership? Jan 6 hearings? May have missed it….How bout criticizing the vaccine? Is the GOPe grooming him for the Presidential run? Does Newsom know something we don’t?
They are most certainly grooming him. Every story I see run across my computer is saying “voters” prefer him over Trump. Straw polls say otherwise. He is getting big donor money and Ken Griffin (Citadel) amongst others have donated big money to his warchest.
There are trolls who post here trying to sabotage DeSantis at every opportunity. I’m not sold on him completely, but still watching him.
Agree. I like deSantis a lot. I trusted Reagan because I didn’t see his desire to be President as ego gratification or an opportunity to enrich himself. Don’t feel anyone since then has as pure a motive.
Reagan said, trust but verify.
I liked Reagan, but I think he had that backward. I’m more of a verify, THEN trust kind of person.
I’d say, trust no one absolutely but God, Who alone is perfect. Politicians are fallible human beings no different than we are. We would prefer to just trust men to always be honest, because that is much easier than the hassle of regular verification and accountability, which takes time and attention from us. But for their sake and ours, to “keep them honest” so to speak, verify, verify, verify. On every matter insofar as it is possible. No matter who they are. Trump included.
Many of us have contacted him repeatedly about the machines. I have yet to hear anything from his office. That does not instill confidence.
I have a different take and think the trolls are praising DeSantis
and finding reasons to criticize President Trump
I Live in Florida TOO!!! DeSantis has done a great job! However, much of Treepers are spot on where politics is concerned. I’ll put my money on KARI LAKE all day over DeSantis! The first two criticizing the DOJ and the Brownshirt FBI were Ron DeSantis and Kristi Noem what a great pair for 2024? Right? Coincidence? As Brandon would say, C’mon Man!
I live in Florida too – Conservative all my life – ran away from NY State, to Arizona – then to Free Florida. Not Noem, she wouldn’t even stop men playing in women’s sports & I would never vote for Ron De Santis if he ran against PDJT, unless PJDT a decided not to run. It is about Honor.
I was getting emails from ‘Are You Ready For Ron’asking me for money, I Unsubscribed numerous times, but they still kept coming, so finally after replying to the actual emails & telling them to go to hell – they stopped.
As for those talking about ego – you would have to have an ego to run for Governor of any State.
Well, I live here (SWFL) and I’ve been concerned about DeSantis for awhile. Let him PROVE himself in FL before we replace a known quantity (Trump) with him.
Why are there STILL Dominion Voting machines in FL?
What are DeSantis’ plans to keep the FBI from arresting Donald Trump?
Didn’t lose this voter. I want to hear his side of the story first. Did he KNOW before hand? Did he allow it?
provide your evidence or sit down and shut up.
hold on….everyone has an opinion and they will differ….so their voices
should be heard and there is no reason to tell them to shut up
Some people are offended that there is even going to be a race for the Rep. nomination and that Trump ought to be the nominee by default.
Personally, I like a horse race.
who is better? trump at most can serve another term. very few stood up to the federal government over covid (where trump was and is still wrong). desantis also opposed disney, a huge economic power in the state.
and it is “another escalation.” so was 9-11. so were the yinon wars killing millions. so was crossfire hurricane, as few know better than sundance, and that was a sitting u.s. president with perjured high court testimony by the fbi.
so this last at mar a lago is hardly unique. we need a legion of fighters to oppose the deep state and the likud mossad at all levels. please support trump’s one state solution for israel/palestine and much of this goes away.
You do realize that it was Pence who hired the Coronavirus Taskforce right? He said so in an Interview with Paul Bedard in May of 2020, when he was still touting the Ferguson Data which Conservative Media had disproved in March, 2020. Maybe you should read Birx’s book & understand how the Taskforce was manipulating PDJT & misinforming him. Trump did put forth Hydroxychloroquine too – but again the Taskforce worked against him. Listen to Dr Robert Malone too. The thing that PDJT got very wrong was the time frame – no Vaxxine should be rushed – they never have been in the past & they have still caused problems. Trump has stated that he did not think that people should be forced to get the Jab – yet the current Admin insisted & is still insisting.
I think De Santis was right in opposing Disney- did you realize that Disney has for years hired Pedophiles, in some cases after they had been in jail, to work on Movies with kids.
DeSantis is tough talking on the federal government but he sure blinked yesterday.
Ron takes the emotion out of it. Short and to the point, no unnecessary adjectives are needed for effect.
Bingo. DeSantis is a rock.
Right-ever have a rock in your shoe? That’s just what DeSantis became…..look for a “what I really wanted to say” clarification from the ROCK later today.
Kari Lake’s balls are bigger than DeSantis rock
Now out Trump in Desantis position.
weak response; probably put out by one of his aides, but DeSantis approved of it
It was so short he didn’t even mention President Trumps name
His statements would have been more effective if he had used his official social media rather than his personal.
He blinked along with Abbott after Uvalde. Trump did not. I like DeSantis alot, but we don’t need a blinker right now
Is our beloved Governor, in a time of unprecented government actions against a former President of these United States, showing he is not what we thought he was? Step up Governor DeSantis, as a true Patriot, or step aside like just another wimpy politician. Once again Sundance sees through the fog and shines light on what sadly appears to be just another RINO.
Kinda like how Teddy Cruz showed his RINO leanings when he voted to give Oblamo fast track negotiating authority on TPP.
Florida Law Enforcement should not even have provided traffic control for this. Shame on all. Shame on the Secret Service Mar-a-lago detail for letting them in the compound. Secret Service knows the history of these warrant affidavits. They should have forced a Constitutional crisis right at the gates of Mar-a-lago.
Palm Beach and PB county are big time dem just like Broward. PB Post is ecstatic.
So is Marc Elias – ecstatic.
He’s weighed-in with his opinion and projections, with glee unconcealed.
Foxnews Online featured it.
*Paul Ryan & Co – strike again, because aiding and abetting the most grievous election fraud in our nation’s history wasn’t enough to get the job done.
They never imagined that #45 would survive politically following their handiwork in Nov 2020.
How many times do the “federales” have to cross the uncrossable line before we activate our state governments to use the power of extreme federalism to defang D.C.?
Bannon’s a.m. warroom starting in a half hour.
A number of the people he features on warroom have put together plans and operations to legally deal with government illegal actions.
Let’s roll.
It speaks volumes that Trump’s Secret Service Mar-a-Lago detail rolled over and played dead when the FBI showed up. Maybe they were in on it. Trump needs to have his personal security service (who are no doubt more loyal to The Boss) put above the Secret Service on the power hierarchy at Mar-a-Lago.
Do you know that PDJT does not spend the off season in FL?
Secret Service is minimal this time of year, much renovation is done this time of year on “The Island.”
Could not agree with you more, plane.
If the name of the warrant issuing judge has been published, I missed it.
Do we know which judge cooperated with the enemy within?
Is he or she in hiding now? Any regrets, “Judge”?
National Pulse (NP) said it is most likely Bruce Reinhart, “who represented employees of convicted sex offender and notorious pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.”
in the time of the” trial” ppl show up who really they are……..
Wait- WAS there a Secret Service detail at MAL while The Real President Trump was traveling in (either) Alaska( or N.Y.)? If so, were they supposed to eject the FBI raiders carrying warrants, or engage them in combat? Were they contacted prior to arrival of the raiding party?Or was it a big f…ing surprise?Did they call it in to HQ on arrival to get orders to either stand down or block the raid until Law Enforcement arrived?
A whole lot of questions!
Or were the Secret Service in on it ab initio?
Were the Secret Service detail even there, since our Real President was away traveling ?🇺🇸
Did anyone else think it was odd that everyone on Biden’s detail were wearing aviator sunglasses?
It was down right creepy.
Stepford Wives.
In terms of “doing” something about these “escalating” abuses by the totalitarian Orwellian State, the calls here and elsewhere from keyboard commandos for “w^r” are also unhelpful.
While I may share the sentiments that give rise to such expressions, very very few of them know anything about what they say they want. The percentage of Americans who have actually fought (in close ground combat) such a horrible thing is probably less that 1%.
I have as a 33 year retired Marine infantryman and such a prospect is more horrible that the 99% can imagine. Instead they watch fluff like Red Dawn.
We must be rational adults and push back by the myriad other ways short of Armageddon.
I wonder how many of these minutemen have been actually DOING anything in this regard like being active in holding their local officials accountable to their oaths by attending hearings and board meetings, serving as poll watchers, supporting efforts to uncover evidence of the election theft etc.?
Our corporate neglect of the duties of citizenship over the last 60 years has brought us to this very low point and we will not turn it around overnight. Very very few Americans are willing to be painfully honest and realize that it is us who are truly the cause of our rapid decline. Most of us have just been “too busy” with our own pursuits to actually pay attention to what has been happening right in front of us. Those officials we rightly now condemn did not come from Mars. They came from US whether we want to admit it or nor. It is so much easier to point fingers at others so we will not even be inconvenienced in our comfy lifestyles.
Good points mostly, but lots of Americans have been on the ground fighting, but were caught totally off-guard by the complete betrayal by almost the entirety of the GOP. How the h#ll can such a betrayal on such a scale be predicted?
Conservatives tend to live by the Golden Rule, and are peaceable, kindly folk who tend to trust others, especially those in authority. We look for the best in our fellow men.
A society run by such folks is a very pleasant, safe place.
Unfortunately, it is also a safe place for rabid wolves to hide and grow stronger until they are ready to devour us.
We conservatives are too “nice” for our own good.
We need to be sheep dogs, instead of sheep. We need to be much more vigilant and much less compliant.
This is a fallen world filled with sinful people.
We have forgotten that.
We have a wonderful heritage of rebellion.
We rebelled not to destroy, but to win the freedom to build.
We rebelled not against God, but against tyranny.
Our past must be the roadmap for our future.
Our ancestors created a nation founded upon the principle that God created Man to be free.
Their enemy was the greatest military and economic power of their time.
So is ours.
But our ancestors relied upon God and they won.
Can we do less?
Excellent post.
I don’t think we’ll get war, but I know you can’t vote yourself out of this. I’m hoping for economic collapse followed by regional division like the USSR.
Incredible-Sir, I salute you! Respectfully, you ARE the adult in the room , speaking metaphorically. Maybe a bit less Sam Adams, a bit more Tom Jefferson, seems to be your well-considered advice.
True as this is, we must remember that to oppose corruption of, and in, our Constitutional government is not criminal nor is it treasonous.Rather, it is mandated by the very blood of our Founders, if we even have the pretense of serving the loving G-d Who gave us these United States.
Welcome home, Jeb DeSantis
Bingo!
So, based on a lot of comments in this thread, DeSantis is now in the same league, on the same team as say, Pierre DeLacto? Seriously!
Exactly.
The circular firing squad collects.
DeSantis may or may not be closet Uniparty. The facts on that one will eventually surface. But the present context is about a sequence of events that started with Jan 6 (really before; I continue to believe DJT walked into an obvious trap when he did not adjust his plans following the denial of his request for National Guard presence) – the raid is a tactical move that reeks of Lawfare.
All the press bellyaching is just that – verbal finger wagging that is symbolic only (it’s easy). Who is silent in all of this? Who is actually initiating action to respond? Who is cooperatively abetting the Deep State? This problem has persisted from day 1 of the DJT Presidency. Enough with the simple minded circular firing squad. Methodically build the profiles, figure out who the real insider threats are, and then orchestrate the actions needed to exact accountability.
I’d say more like Cotton.
Wouldn’t the State Attorney for Palm Beach County, Dave Aaronberg be the collaborator? Blaming DeSantis is misdirection.
Palm Beach County is deep blue Democrat. It is possible DeSantis was not notified. Even school boards have acted against DeSantis’s legislation. Also, DeSantis just removed an attorney in one county who was not following the law. So,
Gov. Abbott in Texas did the same.
Wow! Not to sound leftist… but what a sexist comment. What exactly about Kari’s response was emotional? Seemed factual and well stated to me.
Agree with Angela. Kari, compared to DeSantis, is emotional.
THIS is the problem with republicans; lack of critical thinking skills
“Emotional” my ass! More like pissed off MAGA
“some republicans”
Yes! It looks like we have a few trolls on here today. Kari is speaking truth!
Agreed. That kind of thinking is backward and insulting to every strong woman here. Tired of it.
Oh I don’t think SHE meant it that way….Oh and by the way women ARE better at expressing themselves. Comes with the Mother thingy…..
She did sound emotional yet DeSantis sounded too unemotional
He didn’t even use President Trumps name
That was on purpose
“yet DeSantis sounded too unemotional”
Just his style. Very, very disciplined. Reminds me of Putin’s style. I like it.
Have to admit…..I am not a Troll….But there is no comparison when Trump speaks verses DeSantis….DeSantis is always sounding Blah….Needs to work on that.
Because he’s calculated. His entire adult life is calculated not unlike most other politicians.
Yep..
her response was MAGA
VERY sexist. And especially ridiculous considering all the screeching because DeSantis DIDN’T respond strongly.
’Emotional” sounds like a slight in this context. I think the proper word is PASSIONATE.
Is it sexist to say women are more emotional than men? It’s not because men and women are different. Her reply was emotional, and it’s justified, imo. DeSantis is a seasoned politician. He’s not going to show his cards. His cold response was also justified.
” Time will tell.”
The problem with your comment, as I see it, is that we’re quickly running out of time – If we haven’t already. It’s really difficult to give the Gov. a pass on the State of Florida’s necessary involvement and in particular his method of response. What got us to where we are today was accepting the unacceptable and believing the unbelievable. I don’t know about everyone else but I am slap outt’a “Free passes”!
A National Pulse article dated 8/2/22 notes that Birx told them her “go-to” connections in the WH to push for lockdowns etc were Jared Kushner and Mike Pence.
IMO, Trump never should have given the reins to Pence regarding covid and he should never have given Jared so much authority.
President Trump did NOT shred the Constitution and lock down the country. He actually followed the Constitution especially the 10th Amendment. Corrupt governors and mayors locked down their respective states/cities such as Pritzker/Lightfoot Illinois/Chicago.
You’re out of your mind. Kari is tougher than 99% of the men in government. I’ve never once seen her get emotional. She’s very calm. Do better.
What I want to know is WTF is wrong with emotion? Humans have emotions. They’re natural, normal, necessary. They don’t cancel out logic, they complement it. A lack of emotion is a key trait of a sociopath. Is that really what we’re shooting for here?
Teeth that don’t bite…
…Kabuki teeth
It Sucks finding out a good guy is just another 80% er like Cruz. He is good on defending most of our ideals. But controlled opposition, he is. Stay in Florida.
He’s also not America First he supports Chamber of Commerce crony capitalism.
DeSantis knew this was going to happen that’s why he used his personal account; too obvious of a hypocrite it he uses his state account.
someone in DeSantis office put out a statement that they were not notified by the FBI
I can’t believe there wasn’t a leak somewhere either to President Trump or to Florida AG,
whomever
Huh?
A notable republican politician finally invokes the 10th Amendment as a means to curb the expansion and overreach of the federal government. The 10th Amendment was put in the Constitution for exactly this purpose.
Well done, Kari. Keep it up.
Very weak Gov. DeSantis … sinking deeper in the primordial soup that is the DC swamp. Question for you Governor – is there some type of inside deal with the decepticons where you are plan B once President Trump in out of the way?
I’m betting they’ve told him that – not sure the GOPe means it. They want a Haley or a Noem.
DeSantis has the same uh-oh university affiliations like Bush and others of the political class.
He does give me pause. He has made some sound MAGA-like decisions for Florida. However, I am not a DeSantis Club member. He is not my chose if Trump chooses not to run.
DeSantis has a republican led legislature to work with
PDJT was an insider, too. He broke from the elites to stand with the People.
And the elites hate him for it. Almost as much as they hate the People.
Ron DeSantis is a politician. And a very good one. He hits all the correct cultural buttons for his base.
But is not a Patriot, IMO. If he were, he would have seen better the extreme danger to all Americans that yesterday’s stazi raid on a US President represents. And issued a much more forceful statement about it.
Correct. He came across as a weak kneed sister.
Trump really isn’t though. He went to Penn not the more connected Ivies. He did not go to law school. He comes from a working class family. His mother immigrated poor and his father was the child of hardworking immigrants. They may have had money but they lived in the boroughs and lived frugally. They ate pot roast and meatloaf. Trump still puts ketchup on his steak – he’s not one of them.
The elites and insiders are repulsed by his accent, manners, habits, etc. He is not one of them and never has been. Money doesn’t make you one of them.
The Trump family has a long association with the upper echelons of the federal government. Not top-line like the Kennedys, Dulleses or Bushes, but connected.
Fred Trump got rich using federal urban development programs starting in the 1950s, to the point that Ike once called him a “bastard”.
And Fred’s brother was very highly embedded with the federal government while working at MIT throughout the mid-Century.
The Trumps were elites. Which is what made what Donald Trump finally did in 2016 so historically remarkable.
Agreed, DeSantis was noticeably weak in constitutional crisis. It has to give you pause.
I can find far more to bitch about Trump’s decisions than Desantis’s. I don’t think anyone meets our standards.
The governors did the lockdowns not Trump. But, yes, he was totally wrong about the clot shots and pushed them. Birx said she lied to him as POTUS and we know Fauci did. So, Trump did not know what the clot shots actually were. He is not a doctor and the government’s doctors were lying to him. However, he was very slow to figure out that they were deadly.
Birx came out and said her “go to” people regarding pushing the lockdowns were Jared K and M Pence.
Pence was in charge of the pandemic.
We need to remember that DeSantis is a Harvard-trained lawyer. He’s cautious as he ought to be.
that’s enough to disqualify him
“whataboutism” is completely relevant and appropriate
DeSantis has always been thus. He’s a conman. His resume is the same as Kerry, Cotton, etc. He’s been groomed to be a politician on the GOP side of the uniparty.
He has a very good PR machine, and the willingness to say things the base likes where other GOP contenders keep their heads down or follow trends.
Notice businesses are still asking for proof of vaccination in FL without being fined as the law he promoted allows?
There’s a myth about FL because he has good PR and frankly the media and others from the NE vacation there and were in heavily locked down states that FL was so free while everyone else was locked down.
What about all the other states that were basically open? GA, SD, IA, NE, MO, etc. Heck I live in a blue/purple state and we were open about a month/month and a half into the stopping the spread except for DMVs and public schools.
OK, what, exact, Florida businesses are asking for proof of vaccination? Name names, or it is not true.
I live in a neighboring county to Leon, you know, Democommunist central, and I work in TLH. I have NOT been requested to show vaccine proof or to wear a mask, EVEN IN THE HOSPITAL, for years, now.
Great follow up.
Here’s the trigger line from the article
“the FBI raid in Mar-a-Lago, that likely required a joint cooperative task force response from the state, as customary for fulfillment of a federal warrant upon a Florida citizen.
“LIKELY”
As they saying on the image boards goes “no sauce didn’t happen”
I will humbly stand corrected when that document with RD signature is produced.
The cruise lines. And a Treeper just last week said the symphony or orchestra in her FL city was requiring it. Karl Denninger writes about this all the time on his blog.
These are random crazy liberals, or crazy liberal run businesses. They’re doing it because they want to… and because they can.
Nowhere in Georgia nor Florida are you asked about vaccines or asked to wear a mask.
Not true.
I just spent last weekend in the COVID ward of a Florida hospital, with my 85 yr old mother, (who is UNvaxed & ‘allegedly’ tested CV positive), overnight for 2 nights, only once was I even asked to put a mask on, which I did until getting into the elevator.
No one mentioned vaccine.
Not everyone is doing it. The point is that FL passed a law saying a business would be fined like 5k every time they asked for vaccine to use their service etc. DeSantis is not enforcing the law he touted getting passed. The Cruise lines are still demanding proof of vaxx.
Woman here….we are running out of time!
The GOP Mantra….”When we get the House and Senate we will fix everything”. All Talk – No Action.
Lindsay and Marco will get right on that?
The problem with conservatives is that they aren’t emotional enough — as in passionate about their beliefs. Karizona is a breath of fresh air. When was the last time a candidate won ALL counties in his or her state? She got people off their a$$es. We need more candidates like her.
Yep. Systemic fraternalism is killing this country. After McCarthy finds out his sternly- worded letter has no effect, he’ll write a VERY sternly- worded letter.
Since IRS has been purchasing ammo and weapons for the Criminal Investigation (IRS-CI) division who are allowed to carry firearms.
Why is everyone assuming that 87,000 new IRS agents funded by Inflation Reduction Act are going to be auditors?
It appears that Brandon just weaponized a new army of IRS agents.

Kari Lake has two years to prove herself before President Trump chooses her to be his Vice-President for 2024.
DeSantis has lost the opportunity with his tippy-toeing twaddle.
This is not the first time DeSantis has distanced himself from PDJT when the latter was under attack.
He made a similar milquetoast statement several years ago on Lou Dobbs show, and Dobbs nearly threw him off the segment (as Dobbs was quick to do under such circumstances).
”Fair weather political friend” comes to mind with him sometimes, especially if he feels it might impair his own climb.
That should tell you enough.
No, she’s needed more as Governor imo.
If they allow her to run…they could file some bogus criminal charges against Kari….
no one is jealous of the love people have for DeSantis; that’s ridiculous on its face
We are aware of the rinos and traitors such as Mike Pence, Lisa Murkowski,
Susan Collins, etc. in the republican party and try to proceed with caution as
we analyze their moves in politics
Don’t criticize the scrutiny
Anyone who remembers the GOP’s exploitation of, and subsequent betrayal of the Tea Party has valid reason to have a certain wariness about DeSantis.
STOP eating our own. We are not the enemy – the Obama team is.
How do you feel about Mike Pence?
An Obam-bam plant. Feel better now?
Obama had very little to do with Mike Pence.
Yep he was a McConnell, RNC, Paul Ryan plant just like Sessions.
Can’t go up against the enemy with traitors and saboteurs in your ranks.
Our host is very astute. Desantis was offered a choice here, and chose the Uniparty.
Many decades ago, in more constitutional times, a local sheriff might arrest a belligerent Fed if he acted badly against his county constituents. Couple weeks later he’d go free, but the message was clear.
Today, all Desantis had to do is review the warrant, and put a stop to the raid. Instead, he went along. It was easy enough to buy off the local sheriff, but the governor and AG? How much did they get? Sorry to all you Desantis fans, but our country is under attack by treasonists, and your boy just failed the test. He wouldn’t even fight administratively, let alone physically. He took the silver. Over to the Cruz camp you go, lad.
DeSantis’ team says that they were not alerted and did not receive a copy of any warrant. Do try to keep up.
If that is true, then it makes his tepid response even worse.
Really….I would be furious…and say so.
Yes, it does. If he knew nothing and is doing nothing official now, after this outrage, he has exposed himself as Uniparty. Bubbye, Mr. D.
It’s not even that. It’s the weak distancing statement on his personal account – he didn’t really say it was wrong, he didn’t say Trump’s name, he wouldn’t even say the Estate name.
Very weak – he’s probably hoping Trump gets knocked out so he can run.
Twitter account???? What makes you think be could??
My husband just told me he has seen a photo of DeSantis giving the “secret” Mason handshake to another politician.
These “secret societies” are a large part of the problem. Remember what President John F. Kennedy said about secret societies. And then he was dead.
Were they wearing their water buffalo hats also.
Might want check if the photo was of Matt Gatez and Rod Rosenstien, just saying.
.
Commenters need to stop with the concrete thinking. DeSantis good, DeSantis bad, DeSantis needs to be VP for more education.
Ron DeSantis is a brilliant man with good character. BUT recognize that he also is a young man, with a sick wife, young children, and no billions of personal dollars from a lifetime doing something else. He needs the support of campaign donors and power brokers.
He is very good (note, not “perfect”) as a strong Florida governor and part of what allows him safely to be just that is Donald Trump and the MAGA movement. If Trump gets taken out, don’t count on Ron DeSantis. It’s not that he does not want to be a hero; it’s that he’s not independently strong enough to be a hero.
.
The lack of financial independence makes DeSantis, like 98% of retail politicians, vulnerable to the strings that attach with dependence on traditional class donors.
PDJT is truly independent in that regard. In addition, he has re-invented the political finance model by raising incredible sums from a small dollar donation base. That is something that defies traditional national political physics.
DeSantis is a professional politician, with all that implies. Including being unwilling to risk too much.
Donald Trump is a patriot, not a politician. And he is willing to risk everything he has for those beliefs.
That distinction cannot be overstated.
“Donald Trump is a patriot, not a politician.”
Not the only patriot and certainly a politician. Almost since birth.
(Doesn’t mean he’s not the best person for the job.)
Really? What prior offices did he run for before 2016?
Sorry. I mean a politician in the sense that he has been selling himself for leadership since being a young man, is an adept at administration and control of large organizations and large groups of people, and is very obviously motivated by wealth accumulation, fame, acclaim, etc.
These are the same attributes we find in most traditional politicians (those who come to hold political office).
Again, this does not mean he’s not the best man for the job.
One of main reasons I supported Trump in 2016: financially independent….he cannot be bought.
Sorry, brilliant? Good character? He took the clot shot – a healthy 40-year old so he’s either stupid or lying about taking it. He’s a politician that went to Harvard and Yale – that doesn’t suggest good character.
I continue to be taken aback by Sundance’ alarmism over DeSantis.
We live here, in SWFL, and have connections into the party, our congressional rep, and have gotten a lot of insider “takes” on RD. No politician can escape all influencers. However, Governor DeSantis is a very independent thinker. He holds his convictions very strongly, to the point he pizzes off some in his orbit.
Do not take his lack of “official office” response as some limited collusive non-comment due to RINO connections. Also any “coordination” done with the FIB could also be quite limited and last second. How many times does FIB give internal state officials advanced warning of a raid, especially if they don’t want word to get out?
Hideous evil cabal is doing their thing. But let’s not expect every moment of opposition to be perfection. Governor DeSantis is the leading Governor of these United States opposed to this crap. NO GOVERNOR HAS BEEN MORE AGGRESSIVE IN ACTIONS OR DEMANDING FOR CHANGE/MAGA THAN DESANTIS!
Or maybe he just wanted his pathway to the presidency to be easier.
I was always suspicious given his resume and big PR. Karl Denninger can’t stand him and finds him completely dishonest – I took this with a grain of salt because he can be arrogant to the point it affects his judgement of others but with Sundance (a very astute Floridian) sending these warnings I feel my suspicions were justified.
Oh please. Easy to be a badass Governor when you only have ONE STATE to deal with. The McConnells, Kinzingers, Cheneys, Collins, Murkowskis, Romneys, Grahams, H-Butlers, and too many more across the country can’t sabotage him.
Let’s turn this around – DeSantis had his home raided by the Feds.
And President Trump gives a bland statement without mentioning
his name.
What would you think of that?
Looks like the Biden admin just went to war, they have fired the first rounds we still are not playing, what has to happen to move people?
“that likely required a joint cooperative task force response from the state, as customary for fulfilment of a federal warrant upon a Florida citizen.”
Would a Dem gov have cooperated with a federal warrant issued by a Trump DOJ? (Not that a Trump DOJ would do it in the first place.)
Why are red states still cooperating? Why not refuse to assist the feds like blue states do/did all the time?
Not sure we’re really serious since our presumptive leaders (Trump, deSantis et. al.) all think our solution is to capture the Presidency. I think we’ve already seen that that’s insufficient.
Please note the ‘as customary.’ Since when has this lawless administration adhered to customary niceties?
I am waiting for all of the details to emerge.
“Time will tell” is the correct statement. This was a late evening raid, we’ll see what his actions are in response to this Constitutional/moral/ethical violation.
“The Best is Yet to Come”. President Donald Trump – 2022 after the raid on his home in Florida !
https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/108790947668067601# .
I am tired of CTH dumping on DeSantis.
Because he sent a tweet from his personal account!
Rididculous.
He doesn’t deserve to be completely shredded, but you have to admit that was an extremely weak statement for such a horrendous act (“esalation”) by the Dems. It tells us that DeSantis isn’t as great as some people claim.
His statement was weaker than Marco Rubio’s – that’s pathetic.
On the contrary, if DeSantis indeed did cooperate with the Feds in the execution of the search warrants, that’s wonderful information. Also, if the local Sheriff cooperated, equally so.
That’s what we can expect when we’re targeted. Compared to PDJT, we’re nothing. Our property, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is held hostage by their process being the punishment. Use it. Remember that Florida porn bust. The fan belt inspectors didn’t do so well that day. Millions of pissed off citizens with nothing to lose? Probably won’t be in Florida, those folks seem pretty well off.
In this case, DeSantis deserves it though.
As a Citizen of Florida Ron DeSantis…
What does he think as Governor, where is his State Milita?
How can we remove the fbi from our states?
Quick answer –Tenth Amendment.
Under the Tenth Amendment ( unless the Constitution gives a specific authority to the Federal Govt), in all matters the states outrank the federal government, meaning states can override the federal government. By raising the Tenth, Kari Lake and others have reminded us —–we have this powerful tool of federalism.
How about our red states use the Tenth Amendment to close down all FBI offices in their state, esp in Florida in response the totalitarian move to raid Mar-a-lago?
Exactly. What does the FBI do for the states that the
states couldn’t do themselves? Serious question btw
I don’t think of Kari Lake as emotional. I call it unfiltered. She doesn’t care if she offends you with her straight forward analysis and opinions – calling it as she sees it. That’s not emotion, it’s strength in what you believe.
I like Gov DeSantis, but he is in a position of power and could do more than just tweet.
I hate to say it, because I wish it weren’t so, but there are an unfortunate number of men on the Right who are uncomfortable, or outright hostile, to strong women who are leaders. And even some silly women on the Right who think that way.
Thank Hillary for that. She ruined it for women.
or nailing him to a cross….
Can Trump really be prevented from running? No, says this rino-ish dude.
https://hotair.com/ed-morrissey/2022/08/09/too-good-to-check-is-the-doj-trying-to-disqualify-trump-for-2024-n488371
Ed Morrissey is more than RINO-ish. He is a 100% mouthpiece for the D.C. establishment, an elitist never-Trumper who might as well be Mitch McConnell’s press secretary.
